I had lunch at Tatra on Saturday and I really enjoyed food, service and atmosphere. A first ever visit in an authentic Slovak-Czech dining corner - a very pleasant experience overall. Food was traditionally prepared and one could appreciate freshness and quality of ingredients. I had sauerkraut soup, followed by beef tenderloin. As a dessert, I tried the classic cake, Marlenka, accompanied by a Wien-style coffee (see pictures). The meal was much appreciated and we were served after a short wait. Service was caring and kind. The lady was attentive and asked if we enjoyed the food. The restaurant is situated in a small building, with easy access to the main street leading to Leicester's railway Station. The little space and the simple yet cosy decor of the restaurant made us feel really cosy and gave the environment a very welcoming vibe. I strongly recommend it.

Ordered a takeaway from here and was not disappointed! The wraps are amazing and are quite big for the price. Also ordered the mixed grill, which came with a lot of meat and rice as well as salad and yoghurt, which was good value.

Used to be good, but I got food poisoning twice!

Vinimos para un buen almuerzo y un hermoso día soleado y nos decepcionaron. Pedimos patatas de chaqueta y no estaban totalmente cocidas, se sentían medio crudas y hacía frío. Creo que acaban de meterlos en el microondas. Era caro también. Este lugar puede ser mejor con precios claros. No recibe ningún recibo detallado. Los precios en los tableros engañan. No volveré a ir aquí.

We went in there on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed loads of good £5 cocktails. Beautiful decor and friendly staff.

Food inedible, we ordered sourdough bread with olive oil and balsamic as nibbles. We were given garlic bread, when we asked if we could just have what we ordered we were treated like we had two heads. My husband and so had burgers, which were ok but my chicken with balsamic glaze was appalling. The chicken was burnt and the glaze was bitter. When I said I couldn’t eat it, they offered to cook me a new one, which I declined. Then after they spoke to the chef, he said that is how it is supposed to be cooked. The dado rail was filthy and the fire safety certificate was thick with dust. It was unsurprising that takeaways were being delivered to the hotel every few minutes. Avoid at all costs.
