Food inedible, we ordered sourdough bread with olive oil and balsamic as nibbles. We were given garlic bread, when we asked if we could just have what we ordered we were treated like we had two heads. My husband and so had burgers, which were ok but my chicken with balsamic glaze was appalling. The chicken was burnt and the glaze was bitter. When I said I couldn’t eat it, they offered to cook me a new one, which I declined. Then after they spoke to the chef, he said that is how it is supposed to be cooked. The dado rail was filthy and the fire safety certificate was thick with dust. It was unsurprising that takeaways were being delivered to the hotel every few minutes. Avoid at all costs.

I am sorry to say but do not book a cream tea here. So many problems it was unreal. Sandwiches where inedible as the bread was hard. The food was presented still wrapped in cling film. We had to wait for nearly 40mins to even get our drinks. But the most worrying thing of the day after several warning we had a lady in our party with a nut allergy we where all served cakes with walnuts in. The chef was called to our table and he just had no clue at all. Disgusting!!!! I made an official complaint to head office and no reply at all. We were offered to go back for another cream tea for the hotel to show us how we should have been served. This should have been done first. Main reason for leaving this review is because how the Hilton have treated the matter especially serving nuts to someone who has a nut allergy.

Staying at the Hilton, as I have done many times, I took the easy option and went to eat in Flavours despite the fact I have rarely had a fully satisfactory meal there in multiple visits over 8 years. On this occasion, as well as the A la Carte menu, I was given an Oriental menu with some interesting looking options. My starter was acceptable if not brilliant, but the main course I chose - salmon with some sort of oriental glaze, Bok Choy, Savoy Cabbage, etc - looked good when it arrived, until I tasted a bit of salmon and vegetables which proved to be very oily. When I put on my reading glasses, it became clear why, the plate was swimming in oil! Trying to cut the Bok Choy brought out more oil. Quite honestly how any chef can allow such a dish over the pass just amazes me. I rejected the meal immediately and was offered a replacement or something else. However the experience had put me off eating so I requested the bill instead. Now I think I could have fairly been given an apology and told the entire bill was cancelled, instead I was presented with a bill for the starter and bottle of water I had ordered and told they had removed the offending dish from the bill. Just as well as if I'd been charged for it, managers would have been called immediately! In retrospect I should have asked to see a manager before the dish was removed, but you don't always think of these things at the time. In semi mitigation I should say I have often eaten in the bar and had no complaints, so my impression is they are OK with pub food (which comes from the same kitchen), fish and chips, Beef and ale pie, Chicken Tikka Masala, etc, but Fine Dining? Forget it. I may be staying at the Hilton again, I will certainly not be eating in Flavours until they change their chef and up their game.

we ate here as we were staying at the hotel for the night. We had soup to start with which was very nice, but the bread was a little stale. For the mains we had pizza which was HUGE and not bad and i had curry which was quite nice although again the nan bread was little hard and stale. It was little disappointing as we have had quite a few meals here in years gone and have always been impressed by the food standards.

I went to eat dinner at this restaurant while staying in this hotel, I ordered Beef and Ale Pie, upon the waitress recommendation,, which came out to be an incredible choice. Great meal, perfect taste and flavor. I am coming back for more, great customer service and even though it is a bit pricey it is great food.

We booked on line and had a tariff that included dinner, there were 2 adults and 1 child but they allowed us all the same allowance of £25 on food. The staff were helpful and pleasant, we ordered drinks which were bought to us very quickly. We had chilli, steak and fish and chips, they were all very good, the fish was fresh and the steak was very nicely seasoned. We were able to have desert from a buffet, the chocolate tart my nephew hard was very rich and dark but he enjoyed it, we had lemon cheesecake which was light and refreshing. We had breakfast in the restaurant it was very good, we all had hot food and my nephew made a waffle which he really enjoyed. There was an extensive continental choice, pastries looked nice and there were lots of different cereals.

A group of us staying at the Hilton, Leicester tried Flavours Restaurant and enjoyed our evening meal. I had a Blue Cheese and Walnut Soufflé, followed by Peruvian Spiced Half-Chicken, and washed down with a very acceptable Merlot. Comfortable surroundings and attentive Staff.

Ate dinner two times and wasn't disappointed. The food was well prepared and served as you'd expect in a fine restaurant. Service staff was accommodating and very friendly. Worth the stop, especially if you're staying at the hotel.

Even though a group of 10 of us turned up 5 minutes before closing time without booking, we were seated. The best thing was all the kids got a free 3 course meal and a drink. The kids loved their food. The desserts were amazing. We had a buffet breakfast, it was lovely. Kids loved the waffles and the vegetarian sausages were amazing!

Had a meal here tonight. Took the €40.00 special for two adults and a child. Special menu with good choice except no steak option. Enjoyed our starters and main courses. Desserts were self service and very little choice and quality not great. Next time I will pay the extra, save money lose the value. I should know better. Staff were good and dining room is nice.

Stay at the hotel but DONT eat here. The food is rubbish and tasteless and the service in the restuarant is painfully slow even though there appeared to be more people serving than dining. Avoid and eat elsewhere in the evening

We stayed hear with a small group and were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the food. It was served piping hot and was very tasty. It is not the most romantic venue when busy but a fairly pleasant environment. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The hotel breakfast had an excellent choice and was nicely presented.

Popped into the Flavours restaurant on Tuesday night as I was staying in the hotel on business with a group of colleagues. The choice on the menu some may call restricted but there was plenty of variety within the menu and they were happy to accommodate any of the bar menu in the restaurant also.I had the tomato, red onion bruschetta which was delicious followed by the grilled chicken and chorizo pasta in creamy paprika sauce. All in all I was overly impressed with the food it was all very tasty and would gladly pop in for more if in the area. The restaurant itself is very spacious and they easily accommodated a big round table for the group of 8 of us. The service was faultless and they did everything they could to help. The only thing they did do which may cause a problem was as our company had given us an allowance for food they split the bill between 8 of us giving us all 1/8 of a glass of pino, and 1/8 of a pint. The problem here is this appears as 2 alcoholic drinks where on company we are only permitted for one so watch out for that (all was amended at checkout however). All in all was a great meal and a lovely restaurant.

Had a Wowcher voucher and as we needed to catch up with our friends, we arranged to meet them at Flavours for a 2 course meal with a glass of Prosecco each. The staff were very welcoming and efficient, especially Elish who served throughout the meal. There was a good choice on the Wowcher menu which, I think, was available for normal customers. The food was well presented and tasty. We all thoroughly enjoyed our get together.

Decided to visit Hilton Leicester just for the restaurant, so wasn't there overnight. Had pre drinks in the spacious lounge with attentive service. That made us 30 minutes late for our table but no fuss was made about that. Menu slightly restricted but the meals we chose were top notch. Delicious calamari and chorizo starter (see one of my other reviews about this starter) followed by perfectly cooked lamb. Every last piece of lamb was eaten which for lamb is a sign of great quality meat. Side dishes perfectly cooked too. My girlfriend had a rump steak and chips which again was cooked exactly to her liking. The service was excellent and prompt and even adjusted the sound system for us to make the ambience more romantic. In summary, an outstanding meal and quite a surprise in that it's a hotel restaurant so maybe I expected less. Only small criticism, dessert menu would have been better than a buffet of desserts, as i'd rather it hadn't been viewed all night by all the diners before being offered to me. However excellent visit, superb food and service and a great night. Will visit again.

Had the veggie burrito. It was a wrap filled with rice, not a burrito. Bland, boring and generally just not very nice. Would never eat here again. (I am aware the veggie burrito does not show on their online menu but the menu in the actual restaurant is different to the one they have online!)

We purchased 2 Amazon vouchers for 2 couples for £26 a couple, for a two course meal including a glass of Processo each.On arrival at the bar, we realised that the prices for drinks were a bit steep, but we were at the Hilton, but they do not need to be so dear to be honest.Anyway, we moved into the restaurant which does not open until 7pm.The staff all need considerable training. There was a manager, a young lad, an older waiter, and a waitress. We were served by all four, we ordered one item with one person, which did not show up. We had to ask again for that by another member of staff. The starters came with the smallest slithers of butter to go with the bread, we had to ask for more. The starters were all lovely and fresh, and tasty. The mains came, bearing in mind there were steak with chips with 2 of the dishes, the girl just stood there and said one medium to well, and one medium to rare, then just walked off, no condiments, no vinegar was offered we had to prompt it, we felt it was just plonked on the table, like we were on a voucher meal, and could not afford usa courteous service at all.I ordered a portion of vegetables for £3.95 and it came in a cereal bowl, just enough for two people (ish). We tried to get the attention of the staff and the just stood hovering, it was really hard to get their attention, and one of the male staff just kept walking past us, two or three times, like we were 2nd rate customers. There were four tables full of people at this time, like it was busy (NOT).The service was poor, the food was excellent, the steaks and triple cooked chips were to die for, which made the meal worthwhile. My chicken and my mum's salmon was wonderfully cooked with the spinach etc, it really was tasty. But why are the staff so rubbish, I do wonder why these large chains have to haverubbish customer service, it so lets it down.More training on table service is a must here, as the food is not the let down here.PS. Wouldn't you think when 4 people go on a voucher deal, it would be nice to reallywow people and get them to come back, and tell their friends, but we were not treatedvery well at all, and will not be returning, which is a shame to be honest.

Back on my annual visit to this hotel we again ate in the Restaurant - a table of 4 adults. Hannah was our waitress (baby due in 2 months) and she was fabulous. Happy, friendly, customer focused she made our evening memorable. The food, as last year, was served at the right time (not too quick after starters) and was faultless. The chef was superb.Breakfast the next morning was better than expected (if you stay at Hilton you know how good it can be) because of the presentation. The breakfast chef cared about food and the cooked choices were presented in the best possible way with the food looking amazingly fresh. Bacon and sausage that looked as if it had been cooked to order (as the eggs were!). Truly remarkable and a joy to eat!Waitress staff that were also friendly and coffee to die for (only if you like it strong!)I like this Restaurant and will continue to frequent it whenever I am in the area. I rarely eat in chain hotels, unless I have to, but, this was surprisingly good and not bad value either. Especially if you buy the three courses voucher from reception. Not exceptional but good. The Calamari was fresh and tasty and the snapper was OK, although I had expected a whole fish at the headline price, rather than a frozen fillet.Chocolate fondant dessert was a treat. That said, my promising sounding fish finger sandwich in Ciabatta with rocket and served with fries was disappointingly grey, tough and shrunken inside the batter like it was cheap, old and/or had suffered from freezer burn. I wasn't happy either with the response from the kitchen that it was just a darker meat but they did happily exchange it for something else.Go in with the expectation that things are put together well, rather than made in the kitchen from scratch, and you will be happy.I would give 3.5 stars if it were possible but not quite 4.Good helpful service.

What can I say without sounding too boring? Didn’t know what to expect when we arrived, having booked a table at Flavours restaurant as part of a Buyagift Experience (part of a Christmas present, and here we were in July!). Any apprehension was soon put to rest as we were met, and subsequently served, by the most friendly team of waiters and waitresses we’ve come across in months. Absolute credit to the Hilton. We enjoyed fine dining all night long. The menu choice had a good range of meals for even the most discerning diner. My wife, being vegetarian though a fish-eater, settled for the sea bass, while I chose a duck dish. Both meals came piping hot and served with fresh vegetables and potatoes. Mine came also with exotic rice, having a rather Caribbean twist about it (What? You get duck in Jamaica?!).While we were waiter/waitress-served most of the time (at a leisurely pace, I might add – we weren’t rushed at all to finish our courses), dessert was a case of getting up and helping yourself. So I did – profiteroles, chocolate mousse, and strawberry cheesecake! The wife chose fresh fruit salad. All in all, a refined night set within the confines of a relaxing environment.Nice one, Hilton.

This is a Carvery with a difference. Good salad course starter - with no restriction on using items from it with main course. However, even salad could be a bit more adventurous : eg. smoked salmon, as on previous occasion, and spring onions, bhajis and spring parcels.Three meats on offer, very good quality - but two friends had poor experience with doubly encrusted quiche [ only vegetarian option ]. Again vegetables could be far more adventurous : leeks and courgettes and sprouts would have been very acceptable. Bread sauce is essential if you are going to serve Turkey. Puddings good - but again, a Hotel of this standard should have hot puddings like Crumbles and Pies.My main gripe is terrible bar prices, slow bar service, and no coffee at the table. Again , a Hotel bearing the Hilton name should have complimentary Caffetieres of ground coffee on the table , to crown a three-course Carvery.Service professional and unobtrusive. Very good welcome given to a baby in the largish Party.

A two night stay at the hotel, I enjoyed the breakfast, it is unusual to see good poached eggs on a breakfast buffet, but their Indian buffet dinner was a disaster, totally tasteless curry, probably the worst I have ever had, at least they had the good grace to remove it from the bill. The night before I had the rump of lamb, nice lamb, slightly pink, good potatoes and green beans, but a totally tasteless jus with it, clearly the chef's speciality.

I have used this hotel for many years to both stay on business, for pleasure and to meet business associates for coffees, snacks, meals in the course of business. Todays visit was a real eye opener when I arranged to meet a colleague... Ordering coffee was a shock at £5 for a large mug (mug was what I must be to pay this). We had our discussions and looked to order food. £14 for a club sandwich... £18 for a burger. We decided to move on elsewhere. So, 2 x £5 to park 2 cars, 2 x £5 for 2 mugs of coffee. So a total of approx £20 for what was basically 2 coffees. Its as though Hilton do not want our type of business. Over the years I have almost waited for seats to become available at this hotel. Today, there was barely 6 people in the whole area. At almost 1pm, I could see ONE person eating. Surely this tells them something... Low footfall due to high prices and car parking. Low food output due to high prices. May be someone has done the maths and worked out that high prices mean you dont need as many customers to hit revenue targets, and thus need less staff and thus save costs.I wont be using it in future. Its just too expensive. Theres a lot of competition and this place just isnt cutting it anymore. I have stayed at this hotel regularly with my wife for weekend breaks and ate lunch and evening meals in the hotel. Now, at well over £40 for lunch, club sandwich at £14, burger at £18, fries at £4, coffees £5, we wont be doing that again. May be they just dont want this type of business anymore.

Flavours restaurant at the Leicester Hilton Hotel is situated to the right of a very large vaulted reception come day room in what can only be termed as a relaxing surroundings that is with its international cuisine, a culinary treat that caters for pretty much every taste with a fresh menu every day (wee it was when I was there) from Rib-eye Steak, an assortment of fresh fish to vegetarian if preferred, all done to a very high standard with very good waiting staff that can cater for your every need or if you want a light lunch and cool drink then simply the Court Bar will also meet your needs. On some occasions there is a pianist playing in the background which adds to the atmosphere and is a great venue for a special occasion. Private dinning is also an option that I noted.Price – It’s a hotel so it may not be cheap to some pockets but at least you will be happy in the knowledge that you are paying for quality, though Sunday lunch at about £12 per head is good value at this level.Service – As said before, they will cater for you every need and are very friendly staff.Rate: 8/10

Dear Nando’s Customer Service Team, I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding an incident that occurred during my visit to your nando’s Granby Street branch on 13/11/24 in the afternoon. I believe the experience I encountered with one of your staff members does not reflect the high standard of customer service I have come to expect from Nando’s. On this visit, I had ordered a meal, which entitles customers to a beverage with their order. Initially, I took a glass of water but decided not to use it and instead chose a Fanta. Shortly after making this change, a lady staff member with blonde hair tied up approached me. Without any attempt to clarify the situation, she abruptly removed the glass from me and, in an unprofessional tone, reprimanded me by saying, “Don’t do it again. I will charge you.” I was taken aback by her approach, as I had not acted improperly. My order included a meal, entitling me to a drink, and I had not consumed any water before choosing the Fanta. Therefore, her behavior felt unjustified and unreasonably harsh. Additionally, the manner in which she spoke to me was unnecessarily confrontational and left me feeling humiliated in front of other patrons. I would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter further and consider providing additional training to staff on how to handle customer interactions respectfully and professionally. Nando’s has always been a brand I admire for its quality and customer service, and I hope this was an isolated incident that does not reflect your overall values. Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. I look forward to hearing from you soon and hope to see improvements that ensure a welcoming and respectful atmosphere for all Nando’s patrons.

So upset by the food they served , and it’s been going downhill each time. Ordered the fino pita and there was nothing inside except the chicken, it was so dry there was no sauce and not even a lettuce. Chicken wasn’t even cooked properly. The time before was a similar experience too. Used to be so good but the quality has gone so down now
