Can’t score much as the place wasn’t open & apparently is only open as a nightclub now! So don’t trust the opening times on Google maps!

This was a meet up place before the meal. Ordered a round of drinks, 2 alcoholic, 2 diet cokes. Charged us £25.00. Went for round 2, exact same drinks, got charged £15.00!! Not given a receipt, so couldn't prove it

Perfect place for a good dance and cheap drinks. The reason behind my poor review is because I was pickpocketed in there and security did not have anything to help me out. Be careful whenever you go.

Been going here for years, the ale has changed a bit, not as much bottled Belgium beers as there used to be. But still lovely inside and a great garden.

Best advice to this place Change the doormen Terrible attitude , we’ve witnessed them randomly stop people from entering on the basis of not liking their face or shoes or shirt etc for no other reason we can imagine other than an attempt to convince themselves they possess some kind of power , quite sad really Clean out the pumps/pipes to the draft drinks they taste dirty & awful Bottle drinks are fine Return back to the welcoming place it use to be , lose the present doormen & attitude We gave up and now really enjoy ourselves around st.martins square & smart bars nearby & never get criticised for our dress + back to draft drinks which are clean

I really like this place as I can get a decent pint of something different to the norm and the decoration of the roof is a fabulous and a must see...my wife enjoys the cocktails

Literally my story was I just came to the bar and I stayed there for 10 minutes with out buying drink and the security guy came to me and told me I can't stay there even though I was going to buy drink , so I definitely I don't recommend this place for the people for sure and its prices is super expensive if you buy drinks from London is much cheaper.

Solid bar with tons of potential. Good selection of beers, even a few Belgians. But staff didn’t really seem to know much about some of the various beers when asked. Still, a good bar with a different vibe and some variety of beers.

I hate to give negative reviews but I felt that I must given how dreadful the bouncers were on my visit last night. It was about 11pm on a Friday night. I was completely compos mentis and the door staff were just straight up rude and acted very aggressively for absolutely no reason, all members of my party were behaving appropriately and they were just miserable. I went to the ladies toilets downstairs and one of the bouncers was coming to tell everyone to stop queuing outside the door and to go to another toilet. Whether that was for health and safety I’m not sure, it wouldn’t have bothered me so much if he hadn’t done it in such a rude and brash manner. It doesn’t hurt to have a bit of tact and be polite. He was basically telling ladies off for standing in line patiently, nobody was misbehaving and it wasn’t in the way of a fire escape/critical paths or otherwise as far as I could see. No more than 3 or 4 people outside the door including myself. Such a shame as the building itself is lovely and well presented (although I did get stuck to the floors a little , to be expected on a Friday night with drinks everywhere). I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat there. Music was very good and general vibe was good, so a real shame that the experience was tainted by such horrible door staff.

Good Vibes for Leicester, was disappointed to see how dead Leicester was on a Friday and I was surprised with the Vibes I got from Cafe Bruxelles...would be even better if the range of music could also include RnB etc. Recommend if you are in Leicester to check Cafe Brux out on a Saturday.

I always go here and an Easter Sunday outing was needed. I was with two friends and we just got a "no, not tonight" to my male friend. It was so weird. There was nothing in the way he dressed that was unusual and we weren't overly tipsy. Not sure what the doorman's issue is but it was very disappointing and there was no reason given. It wasn't late or full and it wasn't busy. Just odd. It's always girl heavy in there and I've never had this before...bad attitude.

I was visiting some friends at Christmas last year as I used to live in Leicester but now live in Hertfordshire. We had planned to go to Brusselles as I’d been many occasions years ago. We stopped off at McDonald’s and one of our group was leaving and as he left he said “meet you in Brusselles” On hearing this a black chap that I had never seen before told us that as there were mixed raced lads in our group we probably wouldn’t get in as the bouncers tend not to let “black guys in”. I didn’t really listen but as it turned out on approaching Brusselles I did notice a few black guys get turned away, these were guys with their girlfriends, the alarming thing was is every other couple that happened to not be black seemed to just walk in. Still I didn’t take much notice of this as I just wanted to continue the night but as our group approached the door (3 mixed raced lads and two white women) we were stopped abruptly and told “Not tonight!” None of us were drunk and I simply asked why. The bouncer was rude and was trying to be intimidating by staring at me and standing upright. I remained calm and politely began to query why we weren’t allowed in when people before us were being let in with no issue. The bouncer then cheekily attempted to mimmick a Caribbean accent as he grinned and said he doesn’t need a reason. I wasn’t prepared to argue but other people behind us said they were shocked at the conduct from the bouncer with one guy even asking if he wanted me to make a complaint. I didn’t want to make a fuss and myself and my party went elsewhere but since this I have heard of other people that have been refused entry for no reason with a bad attitude from the bouncers and they all seem to be black males. I have also heard other stories non associated with racism of the bouncers treating people rudely and being cocky and trying to intimidate and one thing have learned in my 44 years on this planet is this never ends well. Very dissapointing and a shame that a good establishment is now associated with this kind of behaviour and conduct.

Fabulous style of building, good vibes

Was treated absolutely appalling at the door. Was speaking to a bouncer as he said my boyfriend couldn’t go in with his shoes and we literally had come over from Worcestershire for a nice night out with some friends and family that we never see. So was just speaking to this guy and his little pal comes flying over and threatens my boyfriend that he’s going to hit him and slit his throat!!!! He claimed this was ok because he owns the place. Apparently that is ok for him to make comments like that, but when I spoke to the police about it afterwards it seemed that they said nobody can say things like that no matter who they are! I do not understand this hostility as it was completely uncalled for. We took a breather then and I thought I’d get a few pictures of him and a video. As I went past to video him he put up his snood thing so you can’t see his full face. Then as I passed him he knocked my phone out of my hand of which I’ve got a good close up of his face which the police have seen and I can show others that wish to see this guy. I think this is ridiculous behaviour and how you can have a job there after behaviour like that it’s appalling!!! What a lovely night that could have been ruined by a guy that can’t control himself. Shouldn’t do that kind of job if you haven’t got self control.

Lively city centre bar , not to long to wait at the bar for service. Classic dance tracks were playing on the Saturday night I was there. Worth a visit just for the opulent ceiling inside.

We have visited twice until to day. Summer was much better when sitting outside but also you should see inside. Really good staff that you can ask about drinks and recommendations.. Will visit again.

Waited outside this bar to get in friend talking pleasantly to the doorman after 10 minutes got invited in did track and trace friend went to walk in and the door man asked for proof that we had done track and trace she asked how do I show proof. He then proceeded to say bye ladies have a good night. My friend asked what the problem was and why we couldn't go in. He continued to repeat the same message to her. My other friend loud but polite asked why are you being difficult you just asked us to scan the code that's what we did. The doorman began swearing using the f word telling us if a doorman asks you to leave you leave. There was a lot of back and forth until a young woman came out who said she was the highest authority. I said to her there has been no understanding as to why we are suddenly not allowed in and we are getting quite frustrated and angry now. He continued to say please just leave and have a nice day. The lady that arrived said he's my head doorman and I trust his judgement there's nothing I could do. His door man colleague asked him why are you not letting them in? And then looked at my friend and said I think he is just having a bad day! When the lady that came out asked him why he said they just need to leave I don't need to discuss it she turned around and said I'm sorry if he has decided you can't come in I have to trust his judgement. I asked for the most senior person to speak to she said I am the most senior. I said who owns the bar she said the owner. I asked for an email so I could make a complaint in the morning she said that's privileged information and I don't have to give you that. I quoted the freedom of information act and said I have a right to complain but she refused to give it to me. The original doorman continued to swear and tell us to leave so at this point we left. I would like someone to contact me to discuss why we were refused entry and why we were refused the right to complain and why we were verbally abused by your staff. We were all wearing appropriate PPE and following the rules. Some of us were a bit loud but we had done nothing wrong that would deny entry.

So originally i posted 5 star review in 2018.. because i loved the place.. unfortunately it changed (guess with new owners?).. Yes it got spruced up, but the quality of the place deteriorated... cocktails recipies changed massively, they are now awful, artificial tasting and sickly sweet, not the decent classics they used to be! Music now too loud most of the time for conversation and different calibre.

Been drinking here for over 2 decades however everything comes to an end. Went there Saturday with the wife and WOW..rowdy and drunk blokes are now allowed in....use to be a very a classy joint but really gone down hill and sinking faster than the Titanic...real shame

Found this little gem on a walk around town. Very quiet inside but city were playing. Toilets downstairs, not good if you have mobility issues or high heels. Fab decor and large beer garden.

Really nice bar, fantastic outdoor space shared with Apres Bar makes for a great stop on a night out. Shame that they have a fairly odd and outdated footwear policy- it doesn't really match up with the younger student/professional atmosphere within. Shame as it would probably be alot more popular if they modernised and relaxed this.

Came for a drink after eating near by. It's a nice setting to get a drink, and some of the Belgian beers they serve are very good. The staff are pretty knowledgeable and helped pick us some out. It was freezing in there, which wasn't ideal. I'd go back.

A hidden gem, overlooked amongst the bars in the city - and in a great location away from all the clubs. The crowd are a bit older, usually friendly and it’s easy to strike up conversation with people. Seating is comfortable and the music is good, and not loud enough so as you can’t chat. Drinks are well priced, door staff are friendly, and the arty interior is fans. Favourite bar in Leicester.

I headed to Bruxelles with friends before hitting a main club on a night out and we had fun there. Good atmosphere with good music although the drinks were quite expensive.

Really good place to go in summer. Nice big beer garden. One of Leicester's lesser known gems, particularly good later on in the evening. Decent selection of drinks and always a good atmosphere.

Having spent £50 on a round trip from coventry​ to the establishment most disappointed that despite the website and trip advisor they stopped months ago.... according to the barman. We had travelled with the sole intention or enjoying their mussels. Most annoyed that both Cafe Bruxelles and trip advisor have left us out of pocket , hungry and disappointed

I will admit it was a Monday but having ordered some drinks and finding my wife's glass plastered with some other ladies lipstick all around the top I asked for it to be changed the young lady behind the bar promptly picks up the drink and pours it into another glass, err no I said I will have a fresh drink please oh she looked non too pleased. So I then asked if they had any crisps err No, any nuts err No okay can we have a menu please err sorry we are not serving food today so we finished our drinks and went elsewhere.

Impressive establishment well decorated. There were 12 in our group and at least 6 of those ordered Cocktails. The barman produced all twelve drinks in about 5 mins in a very professional manner and to an acceptable standard. And with a smile on his face! Reasonably priced as well. Great range of beers as well as a good selection of cocktails. A great atmosphere in the place as well.

Really lovely little bar lovely ceiling great ambience , great staff and even greater cocktails, definitely worth a visit !! Also very central for all amenities
