We chose The Hartley as its halfway between me and my brothers homes and Iâm really glad we did. Faye was a perfect host, ensuring that our allergens were confirmed for each course with a lovely happy smile. The food was delicious (though highly recommend you have a very light breakfast if youâre coming for lunch as the portions are very generous!). The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with lots of chatter Iâd highly recommend a visit and will definitely return, probably in summer when we can enjoy the canal side location afterwards for a well needed post food stroll A big thanks to the staff for making our Christmas meet up fabulous xx

Went for a dinner few nights ago and we ordered Indian chicken jalfrezi meal and fried halloumi burger. The food was atrocious. The waitress only bothered to tell us AFTER we had paid for it that the Indian food was reheat and eat. Served cold, no taste, sweet, chewy rice, laced with oil popadums! My burger was the smallest burger you'd imagine without any sauces, just the halloumi between the buns. The soft drinks were given to us before our food, which went flat, as soon as they'd arrived. For what we paid, you'd expect half a decent meal. Atmosphere was ok-ish for a weekday. Had a lady talking loudly on a video call behind us and other folk also being boisterous. I wouldn't return and that food should be binned than served to customers.

Usually order from here as food lovely but very disappointed tonight. Food took a long time to get here and was almost cold. I also had items missing so had to call them. They did this straight away and was hot when it got to me. Begs the question why so long and almost cold. Not sure if it's worth the money anymore.

Usually buy from cuckfield and itâs cooked fresh but tonight even though I called I was clearly given fish that had been sitting cooked a few hours before feedback itâs not very nice and not worth 31.00. Shame as I think I will try another F&C shop to try.

Family dinner for 3 on 27 Feb. Took advantage of February offer with Premium Country Pub (40% off mains). A most enjoyable dining evening promoted this review. Not been for a while. Nice table. Excellent professional and attentive friendly service by our waiter (sorry didnât take his name). We had mains and desserts. All had steaks. My surf n turf fillet was superb, cooked to perfection (medium rare) as requested, full of flavour, well presented. The other medium rare fillet was also enjoyed, as was the large tender rib eye. Tasty side veg extras also perfectly cooked, presented and enjoyed. Apple tart dessert and ice creams. Nice cosy atmosphere, clean table, appetising and tasty food, nice wines, and served with a smile - what a treat!

Yesterday I popped in for lunch just after 12 noon. I was the first customer in there. I ordered the classic beef burger for ÂŁ15 and cider The cheese was square and rubbery and when I cut the burger in half, I discovered that the patty was almost raw in the middle and cold. Sent it back. Got a refund. Bit disappointed as my order was the only one in the kitchen.

Have driven past the Swan on many occasions on the way to Bridport and have been intrigued by the Steak and Kidney Pie advertised on the A Aboard. I was not disappointed it was excellent, very tender meat and served with three vegetables. The rest a the party were equally impressed with their meal. The atmosphere was a traditional English pub and the staff were pleasant welcoming. If youâre driving past pop in you wonât be disappointed.
