My daughter and her friend had a fantastic time celebrating their second birthdays today. It was such an easy way to have a party as everything from the food to the decorations was taken care of. The children had a wonderful time in the soft play and didn’t want to leave - it was perfect for this age group.

The food at Oak Hill Park Cafe is passable. It's nice to have variety and some of the dishes on offer can't be found in most places. However, the children's menu is limited and ridiculously overpriced. Tiny portions, even for kids. The service is pretty awful. Rude, impatient owner/manager who rushes customers and berates younger part-time stuff in front of them. Charging for a bouncy castle is capitalism at its absolute worst, and it's even more insulting when it's charged - quite handsomely - by the quarter hour. Why not say that when eating a meal there, children can stay on for the duration of the meal? It just adds insult to injury when we pay £60+ for a family meal, and then have to pay an extra £3 for 15 minutes of the castle. It's a shame because it's a nice park, but having the epitome of greed at its entrance really leaves a sour taste.

My issue is mainly with the price of the kids meals, £5.80 for 5 chicken nuggets and a bottle of water is extortionate by anyone standards. It’s a shame because it is a good venue with plenty to do, we will visit again but it’s a packed lunch for the kids I am afraid. The coffee was good, the toilets were not, and I thought £2.50 for the 15 mins on the bouncy castle a bit strong, and the way the times were managed was confused to say the least. A lady with a strong East European accent trying to illicit a 3 year olds raffle ticket number was amusing if nothing else.

We had our son’s 2nd birthday party at Malibu Soft Play, which is inside Oak Hill Park Café. The team were so accommodating and couldn’t possibly have done more for us. We had such a special morning and most importantly, our son, our friends and family loved every second. We had sandwiches and drinks which the Café prepared for us, including catering for my own gluten-free needs. We cannot recommend this place highly enough and look forward to going back many, many times.

The man who served us was so incredibly grumpy and rude … rolling his eyes at our order (for some bottles of water) and huffing and puffing at several points during the transaction. I don’t really understand what we did wrong but he was probably the rudest shop attendant I’ve ever had the misfortune of being served by.

This place is a real gem, absolutely fabulous food to suit all tastes, alongside all the usual day out necessities like Kelly's ice cream. And its all set in a beautiful park bisected by a wildflower rich stream and topped by ancient oakwoods. My personal recommendation has to be the amazing polish potato pancakes served with a rich beef ghoulash, a dash of sour cream and an amazing dill-rich salad. These are also available with smoked salmkn and a range of other toppings if you prefer but I am mighty glad that I went for the goulash. And this isnt just any ghoulash, this is a serious properly made and seasoned dish with juniper berries in its sauce, sweet red peppers and great lean beef all stewed until it melts in the mouth. My son was soon sharing my goulash and pancakes alongside his fishfingers, chips and baked beans though he reports that the chips were really good. Couldn't recommend it enough. Fantastic homemade food with a great menu to explore but if the kids want a burger, no problem they do that too. Plus all the usual drinks, snacks carrot cake, great coffee and more. All delivered by helpful, friendly staff who really care about giving everyone a great service.

The word ‘cafe’ really doesn’t do it justice as they actually serve restaurant quality food along with all the usual cafe staples. Have to say we’ve been really grateful for Oak Hill Cafe during lockdown as our our daily walks are cheered up by getting a tasty lunch for takeaway. Beef Goulash, roasted pork and mash, stuffed cabbage, chicken and Brie paninis and delicious apple crumble - all of the highest quality. Highly recommend!

We love this cafe, lockdown hasn’t changed the excellent value and the quality of the food, it really is all very good, and the friendly service is very consistent. We just wish they would spend a little more on the coffee beans....

Coffee was great but sandwiches were awful, made with thin sliced processed bread of the poorest quality. I had smoked salmon and cream cheese which was ruined by the cheap bread. Presentation was mediocre at best. Such a shame because the location and space is fabulous. I would go again for coffee but would not eat here.

The cafe on Oak Hill Park is so much more than slushies and outstanding ice cream selection offered for the kids. The food selection of Polish delicacies is delightful. We always go straight for the polish sausage hot dog, served with caramelised onions and sweet mustard. Alongside that their pancakes, available with smoked salmon, sour cream, roast pork and more are light and delicious. Last week we had their cabbage rolls, stuffed with a spiced mince, served with sauce and their gorgeous homemade coleslaw. All of this is homemade and clearly prepared with love and attention - not what you'd normally expect from a place in the park. That said, their ice cream selection is amazing (I'm a toffee and pecan man) and there's plenty of more familiar treats to keep younger ones happy too. If you want great authentic food in the lovely setting of a park (they have some tables outside, or you can do as we did and just set up camp where you're comfortable on the grass) this is your only choice.

Oakhill park is a large park with lots of paths for walkers, fitness machines, children's playgrounds, tennis courts, a stream running through it . . Lots to see and do there, so the discovery of the cafe was a real plus. It has good coffee and snacks. But the delightful surprise was a delicious menu of homemade Polish dishes. I had a tasty chicken soup and my husband had the famed hunter's stew. Several other soups are available, including goulash, as well as more substantial meals. Seeing other customers enjoying the homemade apple crumble dessert meant that we had to try that too. It was lovely. This is a small, clean and unpretentious little cafe, with tables inside and out. The staff are welcoming and friendly and happy to chat about the Polish specialities, as I found when I commented on the amazingly fresh taste of the vegetables in the chicken soup. We will definitely be back to try more of the Polish menu – and learn more of the culinary secrets!

A lovely Easter Day flow of treats in Oak Hill Park. A big spread of Pierogis (variously stuffed dumplings), chicken soup, goulash, Hunters Stew and more. Followed by homemade apple crumble. All great!!!

We've been to the park several times and decided to try the cafe for the first time today with our grandson. Very substantial Polish-orientated menu but lots of simple cafe standards as well. Toddler had jacket potato with cheese - right up his street. We had an omelette and a wonderful home-cooked soup in a large bread roll. We asked for vegetarian soup (they made a mistake first time around but were full of apologies - they make both meaty and veggie versions). Both staff very friendly. With teas/coffees it came to around £13 for the three of us. Small selection of outdoor toys - we understand there's more in the summer. Would highly recommend and will come back again.

We have been visiting Oak hill park for a number of years and never miss a visit to this wonderful cafe. Not only do they cater for families with children both young and older but also doggies are welcome in their outside area. The atmosphere is extremely relaxing and with a wide choice of delicious homemade dishes makes a perfect day out. I would wholeheartedly recommend the homemade beef goulash particularly in the bread bowl followed by the homemade apple crumble. The beef goulash has plenty of beef and the spicy flavor is a perfect heat. The bread roll adds a crusty texture with a soft inside. Delicious. The apple is sandwiched between the crumble with a delicious taste complemented with soft cream with a covering of chocolate powder. As you can proberly tell from my description I will be returning in the near future. There is so much more to choice from their menu. Experience and enjoy it for yourself.

We have just moved 5 minutes down the road and found this park. The cafe is even better. The soft play is perfect for our three year old and there is a bouncy castle! It's nice to be able to sit outside with a coffee and keep an eye on the kids. We came the day after with family and enjoyed polish soup, perogi and pork cutlets. My partner is polish and this is now his favourite place!!

I saw some good reviews about this place on Facebook and Google but I won't lie the one star rating on here worried me, haha!Needless to say I felt compelled to write a review of my visit. We went to check out the softplay (for the children in your family if you want to entertain them on a weekend its a good idea) and were going to just grab a coffee and a tea but we ended up staying a bit longer for food as well.Firstly the cafe is in a lovely area with nice views of the park - there's a separate area for parents with children in the soft play which we appreciated since you can just sit back as an adult and enjoy your coffee (very nice by the way and I'm a coffee lover!). but there's another area if you don't have kids which we sat in later as it got a bit cold and rainy later outside. The cafe is clean and tidy and also has a 5 star hygiene rating (which I spotted on the door). The staff are actually very friendly and were relaxed and very helpful. We decided to have some lunch and braved the Polish menu and we were not disappointing. The presentation is fantastic for a cafe in a park and the food was delicious - you could taste it was home made. All in all we had a lovely afternoon and while I wouldn't say this place is a Michelin quality restaurant it's just actually a lovely place to sit and relax and spend with your family. Give it a go. (and try the food!)

Cafe has a perfect position however is ruined by the rude nature of the staff. The food is a bit overpriced. I tend to avoid as consistently the service is abrupt almost to the point of disdain.
