Florentin in Barnet

We went for brunch to Florentin and had a good meal. The food was excellent - very much a contemporary Tel Aviv vibe. Service was a bit hit and miss and our waitress was pretty surely. That and the ridiculously loud blender coming on sporadically were the reasons we did give it a five star rating. We’ll probably be back, it hoping they do sort out the issues.

Having a coffee at this café was reminiscent of being in Tel Aviv. Noisy traffic, people speaking on their phones in Ivrit, orthodox Jews strolling by and a laid back atmosphere. Even the plumbing was very Israeli. The toilets were very clean but the taps were coming away from the sink. It was a cold day in August, which is definitely not typical of Israel and we were seated outside as a Covid precaution. The friendly staff did offer at least twice to turn on the external heaters which would have been nice, but when we left some 20 minutes later the heaters had still not come on. Well it's the thought that counts .....

Very good food. Very good value. Nice menu choices. Interesting food choices. A proper restaurant. Highly recommended. Good staff. My daughter and fmaily eat here regularly; our first visit was terrific.

We were staying in the area and I hadn't had shakshuka for ages, so I was very pleased to find it on the menu here. It was delicious, as was all the food and drink. They looked after us very nicely and the waitress was kind, polite and very enthusiastic about the food they offer- always a good sign.

Have been going to this restaurant for many years. Now new owner he was abusive and assaulted me without any provocation this incident witnessed by entire restaurant the customers were horrified

Greeted at the door and invited inside. We enjoyed an excellent brunch oh humous followed by shakshuka. Both were delicious as was the schnitzel and Israeli salad. Service throughout was charming.

Pretty disappointing - I had the sabich - the houmous was tasteless, I think the worst houmous I've ever had - and the aubergine wasn't great. Israeli salad not particularly delicious either. Not cheap at a tenner! Wouldn't recommend

If you like the service, tip the waiter in cash, as they get nothing from the service charge. So when we went we left a cash tip.

Good selection of Mediterranean dishes. All freshly made. Very clean and friendly. Can get quite noisy at times. Great selection of breakfast types. Good value for money.

Slecht. Bediening is opdringerig. Ik schrik van ze. Kip was droog. Salade was niet lekker alleen eikenbladsla. Muziek te hard. Duur. Geen aanrader

Dropped in here as we were short of time and wanted a quick bite to eat. The toasted tuna cheese bagel wasn’t actually a bagel, more a ciabatta. Tasted Ok. The salad looked OK too. Not particularly good value by the time you pay compulsory service charge.

The ‘big bagel’ was nice enough as were the chips. Sweet friendly waitress. Please do not order the nachos-they are flavourless and in my opinion the tortilla chips a little stale. Was a little hard work trying to get someone’s attention for the bill. I think they could do with one more member of staff to keep things running more smoothly eg clearing tables, wiping down seats and supplying the bill more promptly. I voiced my opinion at the time re the nachos but was met with a vacant stare and a ‘no ones ever complained about them before ‘. They bizarrely offered to take 10% off the cost of the nachos. A more commercially savvy response would have been ‘so sorry you didn’t like the nachos Ill take them off the bill as you’ve barely touched them. Hope to see you again next time’ There’s lots of competition in the area who in my opinion offer waaay better service. I believe the owner was behind the counter at the time who took no ownership of the situation-that was a shame but hey ho that’s why some businesses succeed and others don’t stand the test of time.

Came with my daughter in the afternoon Was not given and not offered kids menu , although after I thought that other families did have kids menu Grilled salmon was really poorly executed - dry and overdone, almost black on the sides, no spinach although that’s what menu item said. My daughter’s battered fish was really tasteless, not seasoned at all. And plating ?!! - looking too rustic, just felt that it was thrown on a plate. Very expensive - for 2 mains, one glass of wine, one soft drink and one coffee paid more than £40 !! Not worth the money

We had a small wake in Florentin after the funeral of my father. It was all arranged last minute due to circumstances, but the owner was so helpful and squeezed us in. The food was great, just what my father would have loved so was fitting for the day. I cannot recommend it enough.

Estamos viajando con mi familia. Desde el trato a las atenciones, calidad de la comida ,Servicio etc etc. La cuenta está más que justificado con todo lo que lleva la cena. Para repetir sin dudarlo.......

I love Florentin, one of my favourite restaurants in London! Food is delicious and nice atmosphere and seating areas. However the take away has left a lot to be desired. I’ve ordered take away at least 10 occasions and always been disappointed. Food burnt or not correct order.

I have eaten here before but came in for a coffee which was fine if expensive but the service was not brilliant with our drinks going to the wrong table and the waitress not knowing what was what plus service already added to the bill.

Had some great bagels there and the humus is really good too. But then, the humus bar is right opposite; so strong competition. Also: great Macchiato and lovely atmosphere (they've got beautiful Fotos from Tel Aviv)! Their Salad is a bit over-seasoned for my taste though.

I have been here a few times in the past and have always enjoyed my experience from the atmosphere to the food. On my last visit, I couldn't resist ordering their hummus and as always I was not in the slightest disappointed! As well as the hummus there are other dishes I've really enjoyed such as their sabich. I definitely recommend this place!

We came back to Florentin. The food quality was very good, and we really enjoyed the meal. This is one of the best restaurants in the area, and it was good to be able to enjoy it again.

I used to really like the hummus here, but the last few times we've visited its been bad quality. Watery and without flavour, and not fresh.

The restaurant was crowded (which is a good thing) but was incredibly noisy... Not exactly the restaurants fault.

Muy buena comida fresca y buen servicio con una sonrisa. Esto hace para una experiencia más feliz. Comimos aquí y cuando en la zona. Vegetariano disponible y hay un bar muy limitado. Hay un plato del día, lo que no he probado, pero visto los tiempos disfrutando muchos diferentes he estado allí. Prueba este sitio!

Cinco de nosotros nos metimos en esta cafetería para comer y nos recibieron con un personal muy amable. Tuvimos que esperar unos minutos por una mesa, pero tomé esto como una buena señal. Una vez se sentó, nos dieron el menú que ofrece una variedad de sándwiches, hamburguesas, así como pollo y platos vegetarianos con un toque oriental. El tamaño de las porciones son generosas y abundantes. Las ensaladas están llenos de sabor como estamos las hamburguesas. Este es un café de tamaño medio y bien merece una visita si quieres comer algo diferente.

Mi primera experiencia de un desayuno israelí. Simplemente deliciosa, con un personal amable y servicial nos bienvenida y explicar las opciones de menú. Nuestro grupo de 6 disfrutamos de una variedad de platos deliciosos: tostadas francesas, huevos con salsa sabrosa royale luz holandesa, una cebolla y queso para chuparse ensalada tortilla con deliciosa comida mediterránea y pan sabroso. El desayuno durante todo el día era muy popular y un gran plato de huevos con tomate fue un gran éxito. Café y los batidos también eran geniales. La decoración es agradable, limpio y confortable. Precio muy razonable para Londres. Ojalá este fue en mi puerta como estaría allí cada domingo! Bien hecho.

Disfrutamos del desayuno aquí La otra mañana, después de haber pasado una escala en Golders Green. Nunca había probado un desayuno israelí antes y estaba muy impresionado con la calidad y salubridad del plato. Una comida que incluía salmón, huevos revueltos, queso cuajada y ensalada fresca. Todos disfrutamos con una buena taza de café al estilo árabe/israelí y educado y atento servicio.

Very small place and a hidden gem, I've been here a few times now and the food is exceptional. Service charge is added to your bill and I don't think staff receive it so I always take it off and pay cash tip so staff get it, that's the only thing I didn't like. Food is

I went on Sunday 1 January 2017 with a friend of mine, I don't live too far away from Florentin, my last visit there was some years back.Arrived at around 7.15pm, ordered from the menu, which was not very inviting/exciting at all, and took me a bit of time to find some thing of interest as I was quite hungry. I went for the chicken burger £8.95 a grilled chicken breast in a bun, mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato with the chips. My friend had hummus with falafel served with pickles and two pitta breads along with bread and butter £6.95. I had a hot chocolate £2.50 and my friend had an iced coffee £3.45 brrrrrr bit too cold for one for this time of year, prices at time of writing, the place was not crowded, a third friend we bumped into and we sat on his table, but had eaten by the time we came, said that Florentin is not that too busy in the evenings as it used to be.Our meals came up, mine served on a small brown wooden plate, with a separate bowl of a small portion of chips, the chicken breast consisted of several small strips which I forgot to count, pieces of lettuce and small very thin slices of tomato, the bun was not toasted with a wooden spike holding it all together.The bottom part of the bun was saturated with Hellmans mayonnaise, lettuce and mayo spilled off the wooden plate onto the table, I thought was poor quality the chips were the best part of the meal and generally very over priced. The menu read chicken breast not chicken strips.My friends hummus with falafel portion all the meal contents was spaced out on the plate, about 6 falafels, couple of pieces of thin cucumber pickle, and small two pieces of pitta bread, also did not look value for money. He had to ask the waitress four times for either white/brown bread, it arrived almost at the end of his falafel meal.It will be sometime before I eat in Florentin again, restaurant standard no, more of a expensive cafe for what's on offer. Everything is plus 10% service even on hot/cold drinks, which was satisfactory, but not value for money well below par, my friend was not impressed requesting four times for the bread. Arrived from Sydney Australia and our picked us up from the airport. Travelled through the Jewish quarter and discovered florentine. Try the shakshuka and eggs royal. Tasty. The latte and coffee was great as the unique Israeli cuisine. Cidi the owner looked after us and made us at home. We will definitely return.

Warm and friendly family-run restaurant, bar and cafe. The food is great, the portions large and the prices very reasonable. In addition, the very nice owner makes special dishes every Saturday, such as cholent and jachnun. I have been frequenting Florentin for a couple of years, and have never been let down. Do not think twice.

We like really this place. The food is good, prices reasonable staff helpful. But sometimes the music is very loud, late in the evening. The average customer age is 50, but the techno music in the evening is for 18 year olds.We went this week, the music was so loud, after 10 minutes we just walked out.Music should be something pleasant, that makes the meal and conversation more enjoyable. People want to relax and enjoy conversation, not hear Boom Boom Boom Boom techno disco music.We don’t understand, does the owner not like customers. Does he want a half empty restaurant?It is a pity, as this is a very good restaurant.

Love the food here and the service ! Drinks are wonderful specially the Sahlab my favourite ! The food is tasty and certainly fresh. Never been disappointed. Can't wait to come back.

Visited Thursday lunch, had Shakushula was absolutely amazing, had feta on the top... Wow beautiful highly recommended

È una caffetteria ristorante piccola ma confortevole, silenziosa e accogliente.la proprietaria una signora gentile e discreta ma molto attenta al servizio. Il cibo è ben preparato e tutti i prodotti usati sono freschi e di qualità. Ho provato tutte le colazioni a base di uova e nessuna mi ha delusa. Ci torneremo di certo la prossima volta che soggiorneremo a golders green.

We were there in the late afternoon and it was nice to get away from the big chains to have coffee and dessert. Both were good and they were accomodating of our soya decaff requests. The carrot cake was homely and the tiramisu had a real kick to it. As we were going people were ordering mezze which looked nice too. My main complaint is the music is far too loud and we asked several times for it to be turned down but it wasn't. Most people go to small restaurants to talk but we were shouting above the music. I actually think it would be better and more relaxing if they just played soft classical or jazz or none at all. It is not big enough to accommodate loud rock or pop music.

The chicken schitzel here is superb served with mashed potatoes and stir fry veg (or salad / steamed veg / chips...). A large portion of great quality food in a friendly and comfortable cafe. We looked around for another cafe nearby to make a change but came back here as we knew it would be good.

Florentin is a lovely restaurant in the heart of Golders Green.I had brunch there over the weekend with some friends and we all really enjoyed. We shared some starters, we shared hummus and falafel which was the best I had in london, and than i had the schnitzel for main.The service was outstanding, the staff were lovely although they were busy, they managed to serve us quickly with a smile!

I ate there on saturday with a group of 6. The service was fine (apart from not even asking how we wanted the rib-eye steak cooked), the 'nachos' were clearly cheese flavoured doritos out a packet. The traditional chicken soup was served with potato in it. The onion rings were frozen out a packet. For the price that everything costed it was woeful. I would not recommend to anybody, you get the same quality from fast food resuarant for a quarter of the price.

We were lucky to find this place though there seem to be lots of good looking places that have opened up for food in the last 2 or 3 years.The menu is very varied and is a mix of Israeli and English. My wife and I went for chicken shnitzel and mashed potato with stir fried veg / salad and my father went for grilled salmon. The staff are young and friendly and made us feel welcome though we did have to wait a while for the food. The food when it came was excellent - very nicely cooked and presented and a reasonable size portion. The dishes were all around £13 so not cheap though there were loads of lighter and cheaper snack options.Mint tea and coffee (Turkish) were both very good as well.There is seating outside and the toilets were nice and clean. I would definitely come back.

Florentin is a family-run, licensed restaurant/cafe, dishing up delicious Israeli food, as well as other staple favourites, such as juicy burgers. It is very much a local social hub, with seating both inside, and out, where you can enjoy various types of coffee, as well as sumptuous cakes. The service is great, and the owners create a warm, welcoming vibe. Go and enjoy!

Nice place but the glass door is not marked well enough, so when you leave, take extra care not to walk into like numerous customers have.

Si mangia molto bene anche piatti italiani, il personale è disponibilissimo ed aiuta molto anche chi non è molto ferrato con la lingua. I piatti vengono preparati al momento, quindi non c'è nulla di precotto. Va bene in coppia o con amici.
