Mr Baker in Barnet

This might sound like another kosher Bakery, but thats just the corer product they make. The have a Falafel section, Pasta , coffee, hot breakfast and my personal favourite and the BEST Neapolitan Pizza in town. Well, i need to be honest, i have a allergy to Dairy so, i have their garlic bread and instead of cheese i have 2 eggs on the garlic bread. It is absolutely delicious and i am sure they will put it on the menu soon. But before i knew i had a dairy allergy i did have their pizza quite a few times and because i know what i am missing, it is torture to watch them make these pizza's right in front of me while i am waiting for my garlic bread with 2 eggs. So, I'm sure most of you don't havbe a dairy allergy you should order from here like NOW!! They are open until 11pm every night but they stop the pizzas at around 9:30 pm. Oh and even though its in Mr Baker the business is Mr Baker, they call the pizza side of it, Mr Neapolitan. And yes you guessed it the Falafel side is called.... Mr Falafel.

My recent visit to Mr. Baker was an absolute delight, largely thanks to the exceptional service provided by Shibil. From the moment I stepped in, Shibil greeted me warmly and went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable dining experience.Shibil's professionalism and attentiveness were evident throughout my visit. Not only did they offer helpful recommendations from the menu, but they also ensured that my meal was served promptly and to my satisfaction. Their friendly demeanor and genuine care for customers truly set them apart.The food at Mr. Baker was delicious, and the ambiance was inviting, but it was Shibil's outstanding service that made my visit truly memorable. Their dedication to providing top-notch service reflects positively on the restaurant as a whole.I highly recommend Mr. Baker to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience, and be sure to ask for Shibil - you won't be disappointed!

This was my visit to Mr Baker far some time. Much changed, and very much improved. Very busy lunchtime Wednesday. Though it appeared to be full we were welcomed warmly. A table was set up for the six of us quickly (which seemed barely possible). There are a variety of food stations for pizza / pasta, salad bar, toasted bagels/ sandwiches, and more. A wide range and variety. Choosing was the most challenging part of the experience. It appeared to be a bit chaotic at first but ordered were taken and food brought to our table quickly and efficiently. All food was fresh, delicious and plentiful. We were asked if all was okay (which it was), and treated warmly and with a smile. I don't often post reviews but felt it appropriate having read earlier reviews with negative comments. I'm sure they are now out of date, so felt a positive review is now warranted.

Mr Baker is the hub of Hendon. The best pizzas freshly made in the back, fresh falafel the same and obviously the baked goods. Where locals come together to sit, eat and naturally gossip.

One of the friendliest kosher places in the area. Owned and run by a very nice family who always hire good staff. If the owners are good people, the staff will be.

One of the coffee bakers places on Brent street that's been there for a long time. Constantly updating and trying different things. They do the best pizza and falafel on Brent street. Definitely worth it to go. Family friendly, great for business meetings. Basically it caters to all.

I used to like to eat their pitta bread that they distribute to other shops, but today I found something strange (looking like bug), which should not be in the pitta bread. I write this to warn them to cook and bake bread cautiously, please.

Legendary! Mr baker makes the best cookies. Also the best kosher pizza and pasta out there. The owner Moshe is a great guy and Bailey was fantastic recommending the best deserts to us 🤍

I suffered sickness for at least 12 hours. Didnt smell like usual quality and filling was different colour. Dont eat.

I got here very oftern for a falafel sandwich and it's amazing and very consistent

I have seen the bad reviews of Mr Baker and must take issue here. It seems most emanate from up to four years ago and I only started using the place a year back. I am a local and a regular, albeit just for an iced coffee which is always excellent, and if it is not going to be excellent then they tell you first and that has only happened once. The fact is the place is welcoming and the staff always acknowledge and have a chat as their time permits since it always seems busy. Who the 'ugly twins' or 'ugly sisters' are I have absolutely no idea and I can only say that the front of house staff always seem cheerful and polite to me Don't hesitate to give it a go !

An excellent pizza. Will be back to try more flavours and types of dough.

My friend and I had breakfast here Friday morning. It’s quite chaotic with customers, people ordering in & out of queue, so lots of back & forth. I remembered a particular member of staff who reached out in the midst of a busy morning. Tuesday evening I happened to pass by and asked if I could use the WC without having bought anything. She kindly said yes. I actually ended up ordering tea and asked about the gingerbread man. She immediately gave me a piece to try. I noticed that she was clearing up along the front window. Seeing that she could have continued with clearing up; she very respectfully went on with clearing elsewhere to not disturb me. On leaving I wanted to get her name to honour her great customer service. She gently replied Keshan. What lovely kind service you provided. You’re appreciated. Thank you so much!

Delicious yummy Bagels. Definitely worth the money. Only place in London where you can get bagels which are large and at the best price (per bagel). The cakes and biscuits are also delicious. Definitely recommend going to Mr Baler whenever you get a chance.

Adding to the above, I just had a lovely experience with Keshan who kindly made us hot drinks at 10pm at night even though everything had been tidied away already! She and the other staff are always so happy and helpful.

Beautiful coffee. Absolutely lovely taste and flavour. The bread is to die for. I haven't had a soya latte that tastes this good in a log time. And... The cholla bread is gorgeous of course. Even Selfridges can't reach the quality of their baked goods. Honestly well done. Just invest in improving the barrista's English. But she was very sweet and professional.

The top falafel joint in town by far. I've been going to Mr. Falafel since it opened and have always been impressed by the quality, quantity, and passion of into the staff put into their food. Highly recommended.

This was a respectable bakery and the baking products like the sandwiches and cakes that originally were served here were good.I have visited the place for many years until the last two visits where I was appalled to experience the change in quality that has taken place in the last year. I have bought a smoked salmon there today and the fish was smelling so bad it was dangerous for human consumption.The cucumber was rotten and the bread was wet.The chocolate rogolach were dry and stale .I would suggest for people to keep away .I feel physically sick from eating their products and would not be buying from Mr.Baker ever again. There is some quality still with the pitta bread but keep away to be safe.

The Goat of kosher bakeries but also pretty competitive with the top bakeries in London for certain items. Their Neapolitan pizza is a must (see pics and videos) and they have great pastas! But if you want to also try their breads and challah, they are amazing! If you go during Hanukkah, then their doughnuts compete with bread ahead in London! Staff are friendly and the shop always has plenty of room to sit down to eat! Prices are ok and doable for the quality you are getting.

The pizza at Mr Neapolitan is outstanding, the crust and texture is phenomenal. However the dining area needs a serious makeover, you feel like your sitting in a huge empty high ceiling unfurnished room, needs to be done up than you've nailed it!!

Zack gives superb customer service, and is a real asset to Mr Baker! My orders are always worry free and are always ready on time - thank you Zack!

A bakery where the pastries are kosher. It's easy to get there by bus on the way to Golds Green. I took pastries that the whole family loves. The quality is good, the price is reasonable, and everything was very tasty.

Excellent Friday afternoon promotions on fresh bread, 2-for-1. Good selection of wholemeal items. A bit pricey on normal days. The cafe is popular. The falafel place attached is decent.

The service has almost always been sub-par but today is the final straw. I’ve been coming here for years with my family and friends and have always taken my dog. Today out of nowhere they say they don’t allow dogs, so I ask I’m”oh did the policy change as I’ve been coming here for years with my dog”, so instead of confirming whether a policy even exists (I doubt it, the adolescent server probably just doesn’t like dogs), he decides to make up a law saying “restaurant and dogs, that’s the law”, which obviously isn’t the case as there are multiple dog friendly establishments even in Hendon. When asking to confirm the policy with the manager, he replies “I’m not allowed to tell you who that is”, again a ridiculous response. Can’t say I’ll be tempted to visit again anytime soon unless they decide to hire competent and respectful staff. For the waiter’s information, please refer to the Food Hygiene Regulations 2013, which does not prohibit dogs from being in premises which serve food/drink only areas where it is prepared and leaves the owner to determine their preference….

Tuna sandwich £3.95, a tiny bit of tuna with a bit of lettuce. Expensive and very bad quality. They used to do great sandwiches, recently they just don't care.

Nice place to catch up or for work

I used to come here a lot, but I moved to south London. Maybe I didn't come back two years ago - but I wasn't disappointed today . Here i get everything, what quite difficult to find together on Golders Green side : spotless quality, polite /friendly service, and great value for money. Plus one of the best falafel and best Jerusalem style pita in London.

Quite good food, the pizza was nice and the falafel salad was very tasty but don’t get the apple juice thing it tastes so weird and its flat not fizzy.

Falafel platter (buy next door) was ok and the falafel balls tasty but in the actual shop the staff need training on customer service and speed as they're very lax.

Hadn't been for ages and went in with my sister today. Still the best coffee and pastries in Hendon. Staff are lovely. Big shout out to Zach. What a Superstar. Great news. No need to be abused by the scary twins at Mr Baker. A much nicer and friendlier baker opened just a few doors down. Been three times so far and so much more pleasant than Mr Baker and the supremely rude sisters that have no manners and don't realise that some of their customers understand what they are saying,

Mr Baker's Mr Neapolitan has the best pizza in London. The staff are always friendly and the prices are reasonable.

So -since my last review, there has been an improvement! The strange electricals on the pillar have gone, and there are some nice pillars with proper sockets. The pasta bar has gone, so there are fewer questions to ask, but no pasta obviously. The containers of biscuits are labelled so you know what's in them. The pastries look more covered up. There is a new lady behind the counter who interacts in a helpful way. I was very pleased to see her there. The pizza is very good. The coffee is nicer than it used to be.

The friendliest staff. Great food. Had falafel (the true authentic version) and have been for pizza. Both amazing. I travel 35 mins twice a month with family just to go to MR.Baker

Prices up- quality down! Not as good as it used to be. The quality has significantly deteriorated. For example, pastries are pretty dry and tastless, burekas is with little filling. Prices however have increased.

I tried the pizza and I must say that was very good, also they have the best bagels and pitta bread

Had pizza at Mr. Neapolitan and the dough was perfection. Proper wood-fired oven. The options are simple but very well-made, I had the margherita and fresca. Both good but the margherita was better IMO!

Food is poorly covered given we’re mid pandemic and trying to avoid catching a deadly virus. The coffee is the same price as costa (If not more) and it’s not even near as good. The cheese cake I bought was old and stale, absolutely not worth the £4.50 I paid for it. Couldn’t even swallow it because it was stale, tasteless & the crust was drier than a plain Graham cracker. The staff aren’t wearing ppe over their faces and keep them below chin level whilst servicing customers. This is definitely a place for people who believe the convid-19 outbreak is a “CONSPIRACY”.

Mr Baker used to be such an institution in NW London, however its gone sour for a number of reasons. Its very empty now and the coffee is lacklustre along with the service. However, the falafel is absolutely amazing and I definitely recommend it! Maybe it is time for them to move on and change? Or maybe a takeover?
