I went to Tuesday's 'Lejunction Open Mic'. This is a review for that, and the Pub. They have a Full Back Line, on a Proper Stage. The Session is very well Hosted by Nick, with Zimmy who does the Engineering - he will also video your Slot and upload it to their WhatsApp Group for you, which is great! The Session takes place upstairs: Vibes are cool, there's a strong sense of community. It starts quiet but the Audience grows, the later it gets. You'll often find Nick and other regulars on Bass, Keys, Drums, etc. supporting whoever's playing! You can perform to Backing Tracks, too, if you bring your own Device. (They had an old 49Key Yamaha when I went in mid-March 2025; an interesting challenge for Piano players.) It's a big but divided space, Music one side, Pool n' Darts n' a Big-screen on the other. Sometimes people play Pool and listen-in... and you can see the stage from every vantage. Has its own Bar, which was unmanned when I went. It also has an outside Terrace. The Staff were great. It was quiet downstairs. It's a nice place. (Just one downside: it smelt like all Pubs smelt 'back in the day' - they may've fixed that though.) Though it seems out of the way, it's easy to get to via Bus and Overground. It's kind-of a 'Hidden Gem' of a Music Venue!

Great location, stayed overnight with dinner option - good food to be honest and amazing value ( I mean cmon, wines are ÂŁ20-40 per bottle!) if you stay - you visit Waddesdon Manor for free which is another ÂŁ28 discount! Rooms were good! Some rooms are bigger than others though (I suggest you upgrade for extra ÂŁ20ish) breakfast is OK - I think full english could have tasted better (although dinner food was top notch).

Went on Saturday and it took a while for the food to get here. Price has increased and also theyâve removed the tea/coffee option for the breakfast. Now okay thatâs fine, but once the food did eventually arrive it was pathetic. Sausage wasnât great. Hashbrown was okay. I paid extra to swap out and get chips and the portion was measly and cold. The entire amount of food was reduced. From 2 toast you now get 1. Beans had reduced too. All in all from somewhere I looked forward to going to I just wonât bother anymore. Itâs a shame because it was the no fuss good food place Iâd travel to come to. But after Saturday I wonât be.

This is the second occasion on which Iâve booked poachers pocket to celebrate a milestone birthday/anniversary and it did not disappoint once again - we were a party of 16 and my only negative point would be that as our table wasnât ready we had to wait in the bar which in itself isnât an issue but it was very very busy with no where to sit and barely room to stand and we had some elderly people in our party - however this is a minor point considering everything else . Despite the size of our party everyoneâs food arrived at the same time and was piping hot - food was delicious- couldnât be faulted in any way - the service was impeccable- the young staff are a credit to the restaurant- helpful and friendly with nothing too much trouble- the manager whoâs name I didnât get was fantastic- she went over and above to make sure we were looked after - we will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Stayed for one night with my elderly mother and everyone was so kind. She has mobility problems and found the few stairs difficult but we were given the nearest room to top of stairs and it was very comfortable and roomy with ample space to move around. Everywhere was clean and tidy and beds were very comfortable. Incidentally upon initial booking I was told there was no lift installed and it was my choice to continue with the booking

I went to Dalling &Co with friends for tapas. I can see why itâs popular for drinkers and would have been good for coffee and cake but the portion sizes for the tapas were TINY. We cleared the plates and felt like we needed a pizza! Paella is mainly rice which is cheap- why only give two tablespoons of it in a tiny dish, it just looked mean. Tasty but tiny!

The Agacan has been open for so long for a reason, the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is great. Turkish food is my absolute favourite so i was very much looking forward to our meal, the waitress made us up a custom meal that id seen a picture of on the agacans instagram page - going above and beyond. Scoffed the lot, the only very minor complaints i had were that the lamb was very chewy and the table next to us was very very loud which isnt the restaurants fault at all but made it quite hard for us to hold a conversation, anyone whos been to the agacan knows its a very small restaurant anyway so we are all sitting very close. Other than that it was a fantastic meal, great price and we will definitely be back.
