Challenging Lockdown surprise. I rang Geoff ( co Proprietor) on the of chance that I could pick up a surprise meal for two? ( We had organised a picnic in the summer, It was perfect).Geoff passed the phone to Claire, his business partner, she could not have been more helpful. She said select your menu choice. I emailed my wish list including Dessert Apple Tarte TatinWhen I spoke with Claire and agreed the price she offered an appropriate bottle of wine from their stock and a bunch of flowers from a local store. It all arrived on time, excellent service. THANKSWe will definitely use them again.

All excellently planed for covid safety. Booked at table for brunch. The cooked breakfast was beautifully done, with cherry tomatoes, a large taisty mushroom, delicate sausage and sourdough toast. All topped off with a large leaf cup of green tea.

The food and coffee are decent enough but half the staff are nice and half are downright rude. It’s a game of Russian roulette which one you get !! Went to get a coffee and got barked at by the server.

Very rude staff member I went on Friday to collect some wine and cheese. The lady that served me was so rude and abrupt with a terrible attitude. I think i took a bit longer then she liked to order the items i wanted. FYI i had a stroke a couple of years ago and it takes me time to remember things, you can’t tell by looking at me which is a great example of not all disabilities are visible! These weren’t the owners it was a member of their staff. Having made a real effort to keep things local and support local businesses this was a really disappointing experience.

We often visit Dallings for wine tastings and the occasional supper club, but this week's Valentines Night Dinner was unbeatable. The menu was simple, but faultless, with the main course of Beef Wellington being the best i've ever tasted, and the beef itself (fillet) absolutely superb. The starters (Bruschetta) and Dessert (Lemon Possett) first prepared us for, and then rounded off, an excellent evening. Coupled with a choice of wines from anywhere in the store it made for a memorable evening.

Always a good coffee and a smile to start the day. James in front of house is always chirpy and likes to have banter with the customers. The poor reviewers on here must be so grumpy and devoid of a sense of humour in my opinion. Best coffee shop in the area and food is tasty too.

The girls working in the cafe are lovely and the food and coffee is great. (If I was purely rating this it’s a 4/5). However, when the cafe is full we have to sit in the wine section and unfortunately there is a man (grey hair, glasses, pot belly, never smiles) working there who is so unfriendly and rude. He makes you feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome when sitting there. He seems to hate babies, although even when we don’t have a baby with us he angrily clears up our plates. He ignores you when you say thanks. We thought he might just be doing it to us but he seems to do it to everyone except old men. He’s there everyday it seems, I’d love to go to dalling more often but I’d rather not stay somewhere I feel unwelcome. My advice is visit if there’s a free seat on the cafe side!

Unfortunately I went into Dallings this morning for a coffee while I was doing my laundry at local laundrette.I asked for a large latte and when I was asked if that was everything I politely asked 'sorry I'm going to be be a bit of a pain and ask if I can have some change for the laundrette...' I was going to then continue with 'I'm Paying with cash anyway and just need 50p' but was then cut off when the man said 'oh well im gonna be a pain and say its early in the morning so give me a break!'I then explained that I only needed 50p which he shoved into my hand with my change. Ive only been here a few times and had a really pleasant experience so I'm hoping this was a one off! The lady behind my said Good Morning James to him as I was leaving. Coffee was great though, shame about the attitude.

A delil/cafe/wine shop by day, we visited with friends for tapas evening. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our table very quickly. The waitress then explained how things work and got us water for the table. Loved the ordering system, so straightforward. There is a menu on the table with a list of dishes (starters and mains including vegetarian options) and she advised to tick a starter and 2-3 dishes per person. You then hand your menu to the food counter. For larger tables, they do this for you. Another waiter then took a drinks order and suggested some wine, which we tried first. The food arrived very quickly, decent portion sizes and was all delicious. We all ordered 3 dishes each and this was the right amount of food. For dessert there is a cheese board or you can select a piece of cake from the deli (lots of vegan options) together with coffee or tea. A very pleasant evening. The only problem we had is that our table consisted of two chairs and a church pew seat, which was really uncomfortable. The place was very busy so you would have to book a table in advance. Parking outside on the main road can be tricky. Try Langley Hill car park round the corner.

This was a ghastly experience. A desultory sausage roll - you know the kind the eat all the time in Spain - arrived cold after 20 miunute served by charming teenagers who learned their trade form Manuel in Fawlty Towers. There was very little food left when we arrive, the scrapings of cold Paella and a few lonely olives. This is British Food as it used to be - poorly cooked, poorly presented and poorly served. Shut up shop and go to a tappas bar, find out how its really done and try again !! Steven

Popped into Dallings with my wife's assistance dog. Been here before and never had any problems with where we sat on those previous occasions. Today though some hipster told us we could only sit next door in the section 'where dogs are allowed'. I pointed out that we had an assistance dog but apparently that was where we still had to sit. Not legally correct hipster, an assistance dog and their owner can sit pretty much where they like and cannot be discriminated in any way.

I've been here a couple of times now and apart from a large blackboard at the back of the counter, it's not easy to see the food on offer. I do like to be able to see what's going into my sandwich/roll/panini/wrap/ciabatta. So on that basis I chose a veggie ciabatta which came as a panini, but had hardly anything apart from pesto in it. It was tasty, but left me feeling hungry. I'd like to be able to see an array of tasty looking things to tempt me, but the display cabinets have always been fairly empty when I've visited - apart from cakes! Didn't seem to be anything that I'd class as 'child friendly'. The coffee was good and the seating area quite comfortable, except for a rather loud speaker behind my head which impacted our conversation as we had to keep repeating ourselves louder to hear each other. The shop area offering a variety of goods is interesting with some good wines on offer.

I have been to Dallings before but I have never been impressed. I have always found the food passable and overpriced, matched by a customer service unlikely to earn any encomiums. I would say the term faux chic vividly captures the whole experience of dining here. A bit like the hipsterish / Shoreditch wannabe punters who frequent this establishment.I was in the neighbourhood, so I popped in to check out the beer section to see if they do any Belgian beers (apart from the usual suspects spotted in supermarkets), and perhaps buy a piece of cake to take away. I spent about 5 minutes in the off-license section, and all this while the gentleman bustling about chose to actively ignore me. No hello, no smile, and no offer of help to understand my needs as a customer.Next, I went to the deli section, where I joined the queue behind a pair of ladies and a young chap. I waited patiently for a while to be served. The ladies left with their drinks, and the young chap ordered a sandwich and left to sit outside. There was just one girl behind the counter, and she started making the sandwich. I would have appreciated if she had smiled and said something like "I'll be with you in a minute". Of course, this was probably too much for her. She carried on assembling the sandwich while I waited. Eventually, I decided to leave , and it wasn't the wait but the fact that they would be so discourteous to me that compelled me to walk out.At this stage, the girl at the counter (sorry, I can bring myself to call you a lady) called out and asked me what I wanted. I politely told her that I wasn't sure how long she would be so I thought it best to leave. Her response ? "I am the only one here, and I am doing the best I can". Said in an accusatory tone, without a smile, and without a trace of apology. Now we go back to the "overpriced" part. Turns out the not-so-cheap cake which I had been eyeing and which looked like two servings was meant to be three servings. At this stage I decided to bid adieu and leave without buying anything. And oh, just before I walked in, I had just finished a cup of coffee at another place on the same high street (won't name them). Great coffee, fair price, and plenty of smiles and courteous behaviour. Which is why I found this episode to be particularly hurtful. Unlikely to be back. And if the management of this place are professionals, they will clearly see that my review has been dispassionate and objective.

I had been here for a tapas evening once before and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I had booked to take my friend here as part of her birthday celebrations. I bought her a voucher in advance but she couldn't find it - they don't keep a record of vouchers so wouldn't honour it on the night. Not insurmountable, but irritating none the less. It was a really nice evening and there were a lot of people there and I guess this added to the very slow service we received. The food was very good however and the dates in bacon are to die for! That said, it is still only a deli which appears to be punching above it's weight. For two of us with a bottle of wine, it was £60 which isn't a cheap evening out, especially when I'd already forked out for a voucher. I don't use them for coffee any more because of the prices in there - I go to Fred and Ginger down the road instead! So, to summarise, although the food was good, I won't be going back again because of the slow service and prices. One saving grace was the young man who told us about the wines - he really knew his stuff, was information and helpful and seemed to really like his job - he needs a pay rise!

So the bill I would have expected to have been £10 however, yesterday I was charged £12.20. So when I challenged the guy that served me he said it was an eat in price for the Sausage Rolls. So a whopping £2.20 for sitting in. I think this is a bit much, I wouldn't mind but being charged if it came out with garnish and sauces and a bit more service but it was literally a heated sausage roll on a plate. Something tells me out of principle I'm not ordering food from there again.

I went for a wine tasting evening arranged by my local U3A group. The six wines had been selected by our group leader, in consultation with Nat Carpentier (one of Dallings' buyers). The wines were accompanied by a selection of tapas and breads from the Delicatessen section. Nat talked us through the wines, many of which were not widely available elsewhere and made a change from the usual supermarket varieties. The whole evening was great fun - we learned more about wines, and drank some that we hadn't tried before. There were 22 in our group, which was probably the most that could have been accommodated in reasonable comfort. We thought it was good value for a group event.

Dalling's is a good place to go for a quick drink (varied wine and beer selection) or for a bite to eat. It isn't spectacular but is consistent and has a nice atmosphere.

Went to Dalling for a small birthday party. The food was very good tapas, quality delights, but the treat was trying different wines at shop prices and with so much variety.

I go here regularly and find it really reasonable given the price of other places in the village. the selection of drink is brilliant and the food is consistently great

Very versatile venue: cafe, lunch, dinner, or just have a glass of wine and chill out. We had it exclusively for a hen do and were extremely well looked after. Paella divine, tapas delish, mix in prosecco while also being tempted by all the wines of offer for sale, a great evening was had by all.

Dalling is a good place to spend some time; good coffee, great food, friendly people behind the bar, lots of lovely foodstuffs on offer to buy. The wine shop next door is very good too. Good place to visit for Christmas presents :)

We recently used the catering service from Dalling & Co for a party that we were hosting at the Cricket Club. I discussed our requirements in detail with Clare. On the night, due to absolutely no fault of their own,(there was an accident in the van resulting in paella being split everywhere) Clare and her team found themselves without any food to serve with an hour and half to go before guests arrived. How she managed to pull it out of the bag was simply brilliant. All the guests were served with delicious food only 20 mins later than planned.Sometimes things happen out of your control, it is how you deal with the situation that counts and Clare was simply wonderful. We are still hearing comments from guests about how good the food was. All we need to do now is have another party so that we can try the paella as well.

I came here to celebrate my 21st with 10 of my friends for tapas. The food was absolutely delicious - they cater for pretty much anybody (meat eaters to vegans) and everything was cooked perfectly. The staff are lovely and gave excellent service - our glasses were never empty!Such good value for money and a really memorable meal. Would definitely recommend it, not only for tapas but also just for a drink (non-alcoholic or alcoholic), and a delicious slice of cake. Thank you for a great celebration.

Had a meeting out and stopped in before driving back to London.Just stopped as saw the seats/tables outside and parking space in front. Can park for an hour at no cost which is not too bad.Nice little deli inside with tables also. Had two wraps and a couple of drinks and came to just over £10. wraps were lovely with loads of filling. Had some good items on the menu with varied choice no just sarnies. Both enjoyed and seemed popular so would guess well liked locally. The deli inside had some good bits and would have got a few items f not heading back to work.Next time in area will stop in again.

Nice place for good coffee, cake, panini, nice fresh interesting salads etc. You choose your food at the Deli counter and it is bought to your table. Take away foods are also available.Seating is outside, in the deli and in the wine sales area where dogs are accepted. You can buy a bottle of wine and drink it in the wine bar. Corkage is £3.99.

A large selection of wine, very interesting as you wouldn't find these in the supermarket and the staff can tell you about every bottle, available to take home or drink in by the bottle or glass. Even better when you can have your glass of wine with a delicious (and huge) antipasti platter from the deli next door....or Prosecco with Sunday brunch...Thursday and Friday Tapas nights are also a must - quality homemade Spanish food and a fun laid back atmosphere!

Don't expect a swift friendly service here, the staff are too busy looking cool to serve you. Massive queues for such a small place. Shame because the food and coffee is lovely. Twice I've been here now and been irritated by the lack of customer service. Its painful to watch. Tons of staff on wafting about doing not a lot.

Had a rare night out with the wife and popped in for a pre dinner drink, Lovely warm welcome from a knowledgeable young man who ran my wife through the options and suggested a few to sample before making her mind up.On the whole a really enjoyable, laid back grown up place to enjoy a glass of wine.

Really like this cafe or is it a wine bar or wine shop, or restaurant type place not sure however they do use a damm fine coffee strong, robust and full of flavour. This is my new place for coffee or tea and I love being able to sit outside even in the rain - the foods not bad and they make it all including the cakes a little pricey but well worth it.So take a trip to King Langley park up and by the way parking's pretty good and when you've finished your coffee take a stroll through the high street a nice way to spend an afternoon :)

This is one of our favourite places. It has a relaxed neighbourhood feel and some real expertise to it. I recommend Dallings for a variety of things - from corporate gifts to catering to a night out with family. They have always delivered. Good food and excellent wine. Quirky but lovely.

I had been wanted to attend a tapas evening here for some time but could never get a table. When a friend received the newsletter advising of a rather large last minute cancellation we swooped in to book and were not disappointed! We tried 6 or 7 of the dishes and also had a glass of wine each; the bill was under £40 and we were both well fed. It's safe to say that I will returning (if I can get a table!!)

My colleague and I often frequent Dalling & co for lunches at work - there is always a nice choice on offer - from paella to pic n mix deli salad, ham and cheese croissants, and great Spanish dishes. The staff are pleasant even though they are usually rushed off their feet!If you are looking for somewhere to lunch, you can't go wrong with Dalling. It's iften busy which is a good sign, and you can sit in the wine shop whilst lunching.Thumbs up :)

I've been frequenting Dallings for a few months now since a family member moved to Kings Langley in December 2015 and it always delivers the goods. Their Spanish influence, which extends to beautiful hand made glazed ceramics which can be bought on site, ensures that delicious paella is usually available, along with a selection of arepas, a dependably delicious option. One evening recently I went in for a quick takeaway arepa, but as they run a tapas night on Thursdays and Fridays I was instead able to choose from a nicely designed selection of dishes all available with a smile and short notice. So padron peppers, prawns with aioli and couscous to go it was! Finally submit to the seductions of the cake counter and you can save money by never having to bother with a belt again. An excellent neighbourhood deli and wine merchants.

The food was lovely and seemingly authentic and despite the staff being polite - it felt like conveyor belt eating. Everything came at once and we felt rushed and pressured to eat and leave. This food
