Food always 10/10. Never disappoints Service also good Prices always going up otherwise would be 5 star

Used to order from pepes hemel hempstead week in week out, however after multiple bad experiences i will never order from you again. The decline of the food and service is just insane, from finding bones in my chicken and rice to delivery drivers having their music full blast at 9pm and multiple times having items missing from my order, its actually a disgrace and its clear that you don't care about keeping your customers happy. Stay clear and do not give this store any more of your money, better off going to Watford instead.

Nice food at reasonable prices. Their chick n rice is very good and so is their chicken quasedila. Lamb burger 🍔 was a little smaller than expected and the peri sauce is nice with the chips.

I've tried many Pepe's branches in my life and this one is head and shoulders above the rest. I order from here at least once a week and food is always flavoursome, delicious and top quality

Ordered via the app (I'm in Newcastle) for my husband who's in Hemel Hempstead working. Lovely food, fast delivery and polite driver. Bit pricey but was worth it for a treat. He said the hot is too hot for him but he enjoyed it. Will order again another time for him. Thank you for a great service.

Great food but literally every order is either missing something or there is something wrong. They only ever offer a refund and never resolve the issue. If my kid wants wedges and they send piri salted chips a refund is useless because my kid is still hungry. If spending over £35 on food the service should be much better.

Ordered a large meal. Burger ok, about the same size as a Big Mac. Chips were ridiculously small. Very expensive at 13.19. Better to go to or order from McDonald's.

The pepes here in Hemel make the BEST chicken n rice box!!!!! I’ve been to a couple of pepes in London and they ALWAYS disappoint - most notably Wembley Central and Watford.

Best pepes i have ever been to and trust be i have been to quite a few. The food is always fresh and juicy whenever i order or choose to dine in. They have always been generous with the chips and never failed with taste. Highly recommend the chicken xl meal as is it my go to.

Would give 0 stars if i could. Food didnt even show up. Then when i called them to question it i was mer immediately before even having a chance to speak with an extremely rude member of staff yelling at me that ots basically tough. As a loyal and regular customer i am disgusted in not only the missing order, but their completely missing customer service. They tried to tell me food was left on doorstep as no one answered door....i have a dog that barks at the door, it cannot be missed !! Disgusting and i will NEVER eat here again

Been to a few Pepes and this is by far the best one so far all the staff were helpful especially a young chap called Taylor he was very helpful most the evening and the food Was Next level

Delicious! The marinade on the chicken was gorgeous with the perfect amount of charring. Chips & rice were lovely too. First time having Pepe's. Will definitely be having it again!

the food itself was "OKAY" but the price including the customer service wasn't, the person who was taking my order kept telling me to wait between my items and I could barely understand them. Overall I would say that the place is okay for now and then but definitely not for everyday.

If I could give 0 I would! Tried to order a chicken wrap with cucumber, they refused to give me cucumber which is very strange, when I went back in they were refusing to give someone else lettuce, anyone would have thought it comes out of their pay check (baring in mind I offered to pay extra for it in which they still said no) When I got my wrap it was soggy and the paper they had put it in was all stuck to it so instead of cucumber I got a lovely bit of paper with my wrap. Pepes is great but definitely not this one and the staff is awful! Would not recommend it!

OMG ...... what a hidden gem hands down walks all over nandos in flavours and quantity. I honestly think they sprinkle it with crack as I'm constantly craving it and have it around 2 times every week at the moment. Don't get me wrong the look of the food once unwrapped from takeaway doesn't look pretty but deffo backs its self up with flavour. It can be rammed in there and out of the probably 100 orders I've made only once they forgot one item on a crazy busy night....

I was served by kiya who was friendly very polite and professional. My food was prepared quickly and to a good standard. All staff I interacted with were great. Highly recommended.

Meant to arrive at 7.50 but waited nearly 1 hour 45 mins. Called up and told to wait longer. If you can't handle busy times then don't take so many orders.

WORST FOOD, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! A discrace to the Pepe's chain. 2 out of 3 burgers were undercooked. One came with mayo when burger states plain on. The half chicken was definitely old and when I say smothered I mean SUFFOCATED c in thick hot sauce that made it taste VILE! They didn't get the order corrected as well missing chips and dips that I paid for. Honestly don't waste your money on this shop. Go to lawn lane they're 1000 percent a better peri peri chicken shop. Honestly think they need an inspection

They literally can’t get an order right to save their lives, everytime we order they miss items, then they give you rude customer service and don’t even send what you’re missing and tell you to contact Deliveroo, who then just offer you a refund, useless

Tables not clean between customers, toilets are not working and the place should be more clean as there is food serving

Food is OK - But Poor Ethics - You Spend Lots of Money on the food which they are charging a premium for already and then when it comes to sauces they become STINGY !! Its insulting to ask for extra Money for sauces when you have aleady spent a lot of money to begin with !!

I rang and ordered my food 20 mins before I got to the shop when I got there they hadn’t even started cooking my food whilst waiting for my food I see the chef pick his nose and wipe it on his apron I instantly left the shop in disgust will never use this shop again I should of got my money back

Had pepes in various locations but the food quality here was the best.

Food was mediocre, wrong order given. Counter staff were unprofessional, talked back to customers using foul language. Disagreements held publicly Infront of customers including young children. Was not happy with my experience would bit recommend.

Ordered meal platter as listed on the menu only to receive meal without the drink. I phone up to query why i did not receive the drink, was told that the menu has changed and the drink is no longer included. If this is the case at least remove it from the menu as listed even on Uber eats, very poor service on this accession and false advertising too!

Yesterday, I ordered 2 XL chicken burger meals, I asked for peri chips and large, when it got here I paid the money and when I opened it there was only 1 small bag of chips with no peri salt for 2 meals, I paid the full money.

The food was cold. We ordered a platter wich came without the drink. The burgers were meant to be plain with a slice of cheese as label states it, but came with mayo and sauce. We called them, trying to sort things out! Big mistake. The staff was very rude, racist and said to ask for a refund from the app I have ordered the food from. Never ever will order from them again!

Best Pepes experience yet, I just love this brand, the food, especially the chicken XL burger is just perfect and very tasty, having tried many a Pepes around the country I found this one branch to be particularly Tasty, more attention to detail than in other Pepes, very friendly and attentive staff, very well packaged.. and the sauces were spot on, and not watered down as in other Pepes. This is hands on the best “Pepe’s” in the country by far and the absolute best place to eat in Hemel Hempstead, so if your reading this and your nearby, order from here, you shall thanking me. Every time you eat from here.

Looked busy so tried it out. Peri, Peri chicken had that charchol taste as well as the heat. Fries are massive portions.

That was absolutely excellent. When you're a foodie you put things in your mouth and it's not often they go bang that went bang. The chicken was succulent lots of flavour the fries were nicely seasoned with spice and the biggest thing and it's something so simple is they know how to do rice properly. Nice one.

Worst experience I've had from a fast food delivery service. Used to be really good but standards have slipped. Today had to wait almost 2 hours(!!!) for food to be delivered. Order was simple and placed direct through Pepes own app. Called up after well over an hour to be told food was out in next delivery only to then wait another 35 minutes for it to arrive. Food arrived with chicken cold in the middle and the chips were like cardboard as if they had been left under a hotplate the entire time. Safe to say it went straight in the bin. Disgusting.

They used to be so good , but once they had so many customers they started to not care about the food and the customers.Always receive my order wrong even though I have added notes in ,cold food and also the sauce I pay extra I get half the pot. Rather order from peri peri lawn lane at least they listen to your order and get it right all the time.. I mainly get extra sauce on the chicken as it’s dry and whenever I ask them extra sauce the chef is always screwing me up as if I have Murdered his family. The staff don’t even know what they’re doing most of the time , just there for the sake of it nothing special. Need to starting paying attention to the reviews and start doing your best to make customers happy.

These guys used to be so good. Got freezing cold food, order incorrect even though I put in notes double check as last order was wrong. Such a shame, getting too busy and not bothering with customer service exactly what peri peri done then screwed it up! Not ordering from these any more and would not recommend anyone else to!

Today afternoon I ordered check rice with extra hot but there is no minimum spicy and they didn't added enough sauce so, it's completely dry and taste was not good. I completely disspoted there service

Ordered because another restaurant (rhymes with handos) wasn't doing collection or delivery, and honestly this is better. Great food, good value. Hot is a good level of heat if you like spice. Delivery took quite a while, but it was Friday and there's a match on, so fair enough. Will definitely order again.

Love the food from here. The Chicken and rice box is gorgeous and the portion is really generous. They always get our order right and the food is piping hot. Deffo one of my favourites

Best chicken shop meal I've ever had! Everything in our meal was perfect - chips, onion rings, lamb burger, chicken burger, chicken quasadilla, paneer rice, mozarella sticks. Couldn't fault the taste or cooking of any of it!

Ordered 2 burgers meals (go large too) Turnt up and we thought they had accidentally given us the kids meal lol we phoned them saying we ordered go large and this is actually the size... well shocked. Had 3 bites and burger gone haha that’s how tiny they are. Great if feeding young kids but terrible size for adults

Me and my work colleagues often order from here at least once a week recently, sometimes more. Love all the food they do here and never once had any issues. Delivery is always on time! Chicken and rice is the best meal and thoroughly enjoy it every time.

Bar far the best peri peri chicken place in Hemel the food is the best I've tasted and cooked properly, delivery is fast. prices are very good and the menu has a fast range of delicious foods.service is ok. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS... When I ordered I was charged £1 for delivery but the menu said free delivery within 3 miles when I brought this up was told that they charge for delivery and that's that,this needs to be put on the menu. That said the food is amazing which is why I still give it the 5* review

Food is 5/5... service is 0/5. This in my opinion is one of the nicest takeaway places in Hemel. Very tender, flavoursome chicken and a very nice range of food on the menu. However... The front staff are unbelievably rude (especially the girl on the counter) and it's such a shame as I do enjoy their food. Before the company reply with a rude sassy comment (as they do, check for yourself) this is a piece constructive feedback. If you were to employ staff who are more warm, welcoming and polite I would most like be ordering a lot more. Please do take this on board as I am not the only one who has experiencd this rude behaviour. Thank you

Worse service ever! The lady at the counter is dopey and got my order wrong twice despite me clarifying what I wanted. I ended up waiting an hour just for one quarter chicken. The salad was baby sized portions. They’re chips are too over cooked and the chicken is dry in comparison to other branches. The staff look at female customers up to down and cunningly talk in they’re language and laugh when you try to correct them about your order. Avoid all CHICKEN shops in Hemel Hempstead, the standards are not up to scratch and if your gonna be stingy with your portions you might as well not articulate how good your company is!

*UNBIASED REVIEW* Paneer Cheese Wrap Large Meal It was good food. Portion sizes were a bit tight, though. Felt like a medium, paid £5.49 for large. No salt on fries or in takeaway bag. Free pot of sauce. Decent, but that's it.

Ordered form Pepe's a few times now and its always been great, much better than Peri Peri next door and also looks a lot cleaner. I wouldn't believe the bad reviews as those people conveniently reviewed Peri Peri 5 stars and if you've had both there really is no comparison! The food is always fresh and the chicken tender!

Great food and reasonable prices.

Although the restaurant is new and the exterior of the place looks good, the food here is not great at all! The chicken was dry and the chips tasted soggy. The service really was not up to scratch either. I would never be using this restaurant again.

I had a burger meal but wasted my time I found hair in burger which one not good as health and safety measurements not taken by management of pepe's piri piri for public or customer food safety. Someone refer me to taste but It was very bad experience.

So far have had a good experience here, will put 5 stars provisionally. Update: Have had food from here quite a few times since and its remarkable. All these one star reviews from local competition, LEAVE THIS PLACE ALONE!!!

We asked for extra dip and had mentioned it in the comments I even went as far as calling them and was told it will be done. The food came and Pepe was stingy sending us extra dip. We were willing to pay for it as well which is why this is so disappointing because you order a lot of food but don't have enough sauce to go with your food.

Unreal for any chicken needs, better than all the other peri peri shops in Hemel, would 100% recommend and will be revisiting again!
