The new management have removed the food but have made it a friendly place for local people to come. My friends and I had a fun time with a fab DJ set, plenty of laughter and dancing

No owners no food but great atmosphere

I was in the Royal Oak Harlesden today I buy a pint barmaid was absolutely useless did not even great me she did not know how to fill a pint of Lager I did went to the rest rooms where I was greeted by a absolutely disgusting toilet s I did not finish my pint as I was sick from what I saw in the tolits that was half 3 today only 5 people present never again will I go there I also have pictures as proof I have no problem post them on here

Newly reopened, their website states it is open 12pm on a Thursday. It was closed. We walked past around 1.10pm lights were on, we walked in only to be told it was not open yet, the one person behind the bar told us they needed 20 mins setting up time! We were so sorry to be an inconvenience.

🚇 Willesden Junction 🍺 £5.50 Cruzcampo The Royal Oak is located on a busy crossroads on bustling Harlesden High Street in NW10. The nearest station is Willesden Junction, it’s a five minute walk to get here. This imposing four-storey building was built in 1861 and was remodelled in an Elizabethan Revival style in 1891. The pub closed suddenly at the beginning of the year, thankfully it reopened in March after a thoughtful refurbishment. The pub is now run by @craftunionpubs . This is a big old Victorian boozer that is set out over two floors. The main bar on the ground floor is ‘U’ shaped. The decor is traditional with original wall panelling, plenty of seating and some amazing Victorian tiling of a Parliamentarian trooper in the side entrance. Upstairs is The Loft Bar, this is a sizeable space with a pool table, dartboard and has beautiful features like the ceiling, fireplace and Georgian panels. There are also a couple of outside spaces in the form of a small beer garden and a roof terrace. The beer choice will please the masses and consisted of familiar keg favourites plus Timmy Taylor’s Landlord on cask. I decided on a Cruzcampo, my pint was top notch, price point was good at under six quid. The pub doesn’t serve food, the previous owners did but it’s not that kinda pub. I arrived around 6pm on a warm Saturday evening in May. The pub was fairly busy with a local crowd and a chilled atmosphere. Nottingham Forest v Chelsea was showing on the multiple screens around the pub which had the majority of punters engaged. I had a lovely chat with the Landlady who was warm, welcoming and friendly. I also got chatting to a couple of Irish lads who were telling me about their escapades drinking in pubs around Harlesden. This pub shows all live Premier and Champions League and offers a variety of entertainment like Karaoke throughout the month. The Royal Oak is a proper local’s pub where the local community are well represented. This pub has some stunning original features, a fantastic Guv’nor at the helm and is a great place to watch the footy. Loved it! ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 11.05.24

Great Pub Loads of screens for the sport and a good pool table and dart board. Staff are very helpful and the beer is really nice

No food in this pub, but actually they’ve gone back to basics to a proper pub, like it always use to be. Good prices, warm, welcoming, all the old locals back in there. Good job and I hope it succeeds. A great asset to Harlesden.

Good hood, drinks and friendly, efficient staff. Family and pet friendly and the decor is lovely and homely.

The food continues to be very good. The only downside on this is trip they had run out of fish and chips (a British pub staple). Have yet to be disappointed with the food. It was very quiet for a Saturday evening. Will be going back.

We booked a table for dinner at 8 to eat the Sunday Roast. We had two meager dishes of dried meat and a few potatoes. We asked for more at 8:45 and there was nothing left. But the worst thing was the rudeness of the staff, annoyed and unsympathetic. To be avoided

Great pub overall -- excellent food (highly recommend the small plates offerings), friendly and efficient staff, fair prices, and a very chilled ambience. Often has live music. Cool beer garden in the back, including a terrace overlooking the busy but fascinating Harlesden high street. Became my favourite pub in northwest London.

Nice atmosphere to watch sports and a good variety of beers and drinks. The food was okay, but it has been much better in the past.

Had a great time. Staff were lovely, especially “Tom” who was very attentive and pleasant.

Great experience, food was delicious and the staff is really friendly and chatty. 3 small plates for £20 was enough for 2 people and prawns were outstanding! Imogen gave us a great service and we were served super quick! Definitely will be back soon!

Lovely old pub with a cute little beer garden. Booked a Sunday roast and it was delicious. Top marks to our waitress Ines too who was charming and attentive and took time to check with the chef over unusual allergens. Couldn't ask for more.

We were warmly welcomed by the staff. It seems like Michael was busy serving everyone but he kept accommodating us as his priority. We did not wait long for our food to be served, and it was really fresh and hot, we liked the sea bream rather than the sea paddock as the sauce really compliments and did not have any fishy smell at all. All the staff aced the level of friendliness and service. We keep coming back as it is very accessible and also the food and drinks is usually good.

Understaffed and a long wait till be served. Other than that, it is a very friendly place spacious with upstairs and outside space.

Thanks to the Royal Oak, we got to eat a Sunday Roast for the first time. It was an amazing experience! The food was great and the waitress was really kind! She was patient and answered all the questions we had about the dishes. I recommend this place!

Just got served a lamb shoulder roast it was absolutely disgusting fatty the taste was awful , roast potatoes were very salty wasn’t even edible, Aness the manager’s attitude was terrible we explained about the food and said we are not allowed to return back to the pub her customer service was outrageous! How can you Barr people because your food is not up to scratch? Iv eaten here many times before and the food has been fine. It’s very disappointing Definitely won’t be eating here again

Royal Oak is a great pub located in Harlesden. It was our first time trying a Sunday roast and it did not disappoint. The staff was really helpful and kind. They also have a pub quiz every Sunday which was a very fun atmosphere to be a part of and the person hosting it was really good and funny. Would recommend Royal Oak if you're in the area.

Great Victorian pub with all the right balance of choices. Proudly showing some brickwork & original tile mosaics without feeling industrial. 95% of main bar is unspoilt classic, not too dark nor too bright. 5% is modern kitchen doing really good grub. A couple of big TVs for sports but not on by default. Good background music - in the background. Gents has a Belfast sink & a Dyson hand-dryer. Upstairs function suite is gorgeous. Used for live music, comedy & anything you like.

We came for a family roast. 6 staff mainly stayed behind the bar chit chatting, we waited 20 minutes for horseradish, waited 15mins for x2 sorbets. There was a hair in the food to which the staff said that the guy who bought the food to our table didn’t have hair. The chefs had a massive argument about cleaning up. Very unprofessional. This is my local, but I was extremely disappointed today with the service.

Best pub in NW10. Always a friendly welcome and very friendly dog on site! Safe family space my 8 year old and 6 year old happily sit with a juice and read or do homework. 10/10

I went to try the Chef's Roast and it was amazingly well served and tasty, something to repeat! Tom was very friendly and professional in attending us and the ambience was perfect for a Sunday lunch!

Came on a Sunday to watch an exciting football live match. They have screens here at a few corners and the atmosphere is great. We had a Sunday Roast (had everything! From scotch egg to nice potatoes to meat really a bit of everything) And also seabream fish with broccoli. Quite delicious and the sauce was nicely mixed. To top we also had a Gin & Tonic. They have many types here. Anyways worth coming! One of the best pubs in the area hands down.

Had a lovely time at this pub! Ian, Inis, Michael, and especially Milo, were such wonderful individuals and made the evening extremely enjoyable. Will definitely be coming back.

Ines was very accommodating, I needed some quiet time for a meeting and she was outstanding and gave us a fantastic service. I believe she is the supervisor and she will be seeing our company come back again, very engaging and professional young lady 👏 thank you very much Danny boy and Abdul.

Great food, great atmosphere, great staff

My partner and I recently went to this pub and we really enjoyed it. The food was really good. Very tasty. And the service was excellent. We were attended by Ian, who was very professional and approachable. Definitely a place to come back.

Great local pub and in fact it’s only gotten better with the new governor. Tom and Fabia and Michael make me feel at home every time, plus the new comedy night and open mic night make it feel like I’m in the middle of Soho. Always friendly and welcoming and a place I want to bring friends.

One of our favourite locals. Milo the dog (the pub dog) is maybe our favourite dog ever! You are guaranteed dog cuddles every time you visit. There’s always amazing food, multiple TVs for sports and reasonably priced drinks.

This will now be my local pub, starts with the Manager very welcoming, and making sure everyone is being looked after and then the staff are exactly the same. Sunday roast was delicious. Highly recommend coming here!

Fantastic spot for a chilled-out Sunday afternoon. Serving incredible roasts, bloody Mary’s and some decent non-alcoholic options. Lovely food, great staff. Plus the footy on the TV all in a relaxed and well-run setting…what Sundays are made for. The manager Ian is a brilliant host and particularly accommodating to those with dogs! Our dog got treated like a VIP; treats, a blanket and a lot of fuss and attention from the staff!

We had a beautiful time having beer and cocktail in Royal Oak :) We highly appreciate Ines for such a wonderful service and expect to visit here in the near future! We will try another cocktail and dish next time

I wish there were more categories of rating. Dining - 5/5 I got a slow braised Devon Lamb Shoulder and it was exquisite and distinguished. The only thing that's was not perfect was spinach. Wine - red malbec, Nieto - wonderful and absolutely suited to lamb 5/5. Staff? 4/5. They spilled some wine while pouring it. Atmosphere? 5/5 a classical English pub. Bonus for a doggo 😉 oh, and a second dish was a bit dry. Except from a few inconveniences - a great place

This is is an absolute haven in the centre of Harlesden. Lovely wood decor and high ceilings, fantastic food, and sport on downstairs. Tuesday is Open Mic night in the upstairs Oak Room - wide range of genres and quality music from acoustic solo talent to full seasoned bands. Definitely coming back.

Posting this review now after two recent poor experiences at the oak. We first came to the oak 3 years ago so have known it for a while. The first recent experience was a bad Sunday roast with the family, items were missing, drinks were overcharged, overcooked meats, and to my horror I saw the chef eating and then immediately serving food with his hands having not washed them. We emailed management and received no reply. Now recently on a quiet evening I ordered a drink from the bar menu which the bar staff didn’t know how to make. I offered to change my order but a senior staff member took to making the drink. However, he then appeared increasingly visibly annoyed by this and then ignored me when I apologised. In conclusion, I’ve go to say, something isn’t right at the oak anymore. Change of management? Very hesitant to return.

Why did I not find this place sooner? Sunday roast amazing, best you will ever get. Staff fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. Food 10/10, drinks 10/10 and staff 10/10. I'll be back very soon for a top class Sunday roast. Huge thanks to the entire team #simplyamazing

This is the best pub I have been in ages. The dog is the friendliest I have ever met and Ian is the best manager I have ever met.:-)

We just had a silent disco here. The upstairs room is a really great space and we can't praise the staff enough. Thank you to Anna, Fabia, Ian and the rest of the team who couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.

I feel like living in London, roast dinners can be a bit of a taboo subject, especially as it’s hard to find one as good as your own mothers. Well, Royal Oak smashed it into the top corner of the net today. Phenomenal roast dinner and service to match is spectacular too, as always. Everything from actual proper good REAL gravy (none of that watery instant granules sh*te) the most insanely crispy fresh roast potatoes, immaculate varied selection of vegetables, ugh everything was AMAZING. I never speak highly of roast dinners, but I felt compelled to leave a review because they are just THAT good here. ❤️❤️❤️

My friends and I visited this pub just under a week ago. We’re regulars at this pub, sometimes coming a couple of times a week. Unfortunately we no longer will be returning after the appalling services and response we had to our previous review. My friend left a long review explaining a situation that occurred last week. The situation was un called for and completely out of our control and was solely the new management being rude to customers. We were shouted at multiple times to leave before the advertised closing time. I don’t know if this small man was having a bad day but was clearly taking it out on us. When we left a review about how appalled we were, instead of getting a response saying we’re so sorry, we got a response saying it wasn’t true and he’s contacted Google to take it down, when in fact I have 3 other witnesses and I’m sure the bartender would also back us too because of the way we were spoken to. We will keep leaving reviews until this matter is addressed properly. I can’t even begin to state how rude this manager was. I’ve not only told all my friends and family, but my friends have told their friends. The old management was what made the Royal Oak the Royal Oak. This new management is rude and very cold towards customers, thus me and all of my friends will no longer be attending this pub and hope you genuinely lose customers because the new management is just not it. This has been such a shame for me to write as I’ve been going to the Royal Oak since I was about 13 with family and since turning 18 with friends, but they will no longer be getting mine or any of my friends money.

I have been visiting this pub relatively regularly for a couple years now and have always enjoyed my time there. However, the management has changed recently and I have just had possibly the worst experience of customer service I have ever encountered. I was sat with a few friends in the garden for a couple of hours and at around 10:55pm one of the bartenders came upstairs. She informed us that they had already closed the pub and she had forgotten to check the upstairs level of the garden as it was for private parties. The advertised closing time for the pub is 11pm also I have sat at the same table every time I’ve been to the pub and it has never been private. We then stood up to leave and as we were picking up our things a small man who I presume is the new manager came into the garden and started shouting at us from below telling us to leave. To which we responded that we were in fact leaving. As we got to the door, the bartender was struggling to unlock it so we were stood in the doorway. The man returns and continues shouting at us and telling us to leave whilst he could see the bartender struggling to open the door as if we were stood there out of choice. I’m absolutely appalled by how rudely we were treated especially in an establishment where we have been regulars for a while. Horrible experience. The Royal Oak has lost many loyal long time customers as we have informed all of our friends who frequent the pub and none of us will be returning. Very disappointed. Edit// I am shocked and appalled at the owner’s claims that my review was malicious and not factual. I have 3 people who are able to recount these exact events as well as I’m sure the bartender as well. I’m sure Google is smart enough to recognise when a review is made up. I also have no reason to lie!

On a grey and dreary Sunday afternoon, the Royal Oak yet again proved a beacon of warmth and deliciousness. The quality of the food is superb, perfectly roasted meats & a pillow of Yorkshire pudding served with real gravy - definitely no granules here- atop a selection of veggies & cauliflower cheese on the side. Compliments to the chefs & also a shout out to the wonderful new manager for squeezing us in on what was a very busy football Sunday & his staff for their excellent service.

We had a baby shower for a friend and rented the upstairs room. It was lovely! What a great function space. And the Sunday roast was iiiincreeeedibleee. Big shout out to Ollie who looked after us so well. What a great guy!

We had a meal last night to the pub I have to say it was a total disaster we had burger cheese bread and a small piece of meat with no salad no sauce on the chips was just pieces of potato and mostly the chef touching his hair and in the same time putting the chips on a plate so so bad never again

We had a party for my wife Mary’s 50th at the weekend and had a fantastic night. Jim, Julia and the team really took care of us. The Oak Room upstairs at the Royal Oak is a beautiful space….you won’t find a better party venue.

Nice and decent place but beers are too expensive and some regule brands like Stellar and Kronenburg 1664 are not sold.

GOOD WATERING HOLE, AND CAN BE CROWDED -ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS A BIG MATCH ON THE TV. This last picture was from the last Saturday night of the August Bank Holiday weekend-Carnival weekend also helped make this an exceptionally very busy weekend as they had live music and extended opening hours,the ques of people went down the road,when the Royal Oak organise events like this 😀 they do an amazingly brilliant job. 👏

A great local pub in a regular part of London. The service was excellent and the menu, whilst small, was perfect. The TV screens showing the rugby and BT sport was appreciated by some of our party. A good selection of beers, wine and cider.
