I went today with my daughter who is autistic. My daughter was excited (as most children are when they see cake!) So she accidentally tapped the glass.case that the cakes were in. Admittedly it may have been quite hard but my special needs daughter struggles with her own strength. The lady in the shop was very rude which already made me feel awkward. Then I told my daughter she couldn't have a milkshake, sandwich and cake (way too much sugar/food in one go!) So she struggled with my reasoning as many autistic children do. When I ordered the sandwich and a milkshake the lady went into the back to make.the milkshake and then proceeded to come out to say 'excuse me, no shouting inmy shop'! I was shocked and upset that anyone thought they could talk to my daughter this way and no concept that she may have special needs. The customer behind me even said to her child, 'wow don't you play up or she will say that to you!'. I stood there in shock and paid for my things to which the lady said to my child 'I hope you won't play up now that your mommy has brought you a milkshake'. This made me feel embarrassed and upset that she thought it was OK to shout at my child and infront of others. Being a parent of an autistic child is hard enough without being made to feel worse by adults who should know better! The sandwich was OK and the milkshakes definitely wasn't worth the money (tasted like nesquick with a bit of squirty cream and sprinkles on!). Whoever owns this bakery needs to put thier staff on customer service training (especially after reading some of the previous reviews) and some training on how to interact with special needs customers. I left the shop and burst into tears as I couldn't cope with the shock and embarrassment. It would be nice if the owner replied to this review but I very much doubt they will!

After jumping off the train in Ruabon I found myself with an hour to kill before I caught a bus for my onward journey. Being mean I asked a local person which pub in the village has the most reasonable prices and I was told it was The Duke of Wellington. Conveniently it was just about 100 yards from the station so in I trot. What a find. A beautiful, wonderfully kept, clean, good old fashioned pub with a bar, lounge and delightful little beer garden. I had 3 pints of very nice bitter for £3 a pop and I spent a very pleasant hour talking to the landlord and a few other locals. I cannot remember the last time I was so impressed with a pub. If I lived close by this would be my local and I will definitely pop in for a couple next time I am passing through. Ruabon folk are very lucky to have this beautiful little pub in their village. I envy them...

This is now called Boba Geeks Cafe. We went in expecting the usually greasy cafe food with frozen chips . We were pleasantly surprised. Home made chips with sausage, egg and beans all cooked to perfection. The chef uses all fresh ingredients in all his food and does a traditional roast on a Sunday. We paid £21 for 3 meals and 3 drinks which I thought was a real bargain.

Popped in with friends to enjoy a bottle of Rose and order some pizzas to take away. The owners and staff are really friendly and the pizzas were delicious. The pub is spotlessly clean and there is always some friendly chat at the bar with locals and tourists alike. Its great to have a pub like this in the village we are so lucky.

Nice spot for a coffee. Staff were pleasant. Unfortunately my flat white was the worst attempt at it that I have ever been served and was nothing like a real flat white. A cappuccino was also poor. We bought scones but they fell to bits in our hands as we tried to eat them. Outside tables were dirty and ours had the remains of chocolate cake smeared on the bbq table

After spending Christmas near here in thick fog and constant drizzle, it was lovely to set off for home on Boxing Day in the sunshine. We stopped to walk on the beach and it was so beautiful we decided to delay the journey and have a coffee here. So glad we did! The lady who served us was really friendly, and the coffee was fab. If we lived here we’d be here every day! I’ve attached a little sketch I did of the cafe.

Glad we stopped here. The view was fantastic whilst having breakfast before a long journey ahead. It is run by a couple who were so lovely and helpful. Highly recommend stopping here for a coffee or a bite to eat. Breakfast was delicious. Seating is outside but has plastic surroundings and a heater, so we weren't cold in the November weather.

This hotel is exceptionally clean, tidy and comfortable to stay at. The attention to detail was impeccable. The staff are so inviting, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place. The views are exquisite. We stayed in room 12. The breakfast was perfectly cooked, you can add or take items from the full English, and they also serve eggs Benedict. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the town and beach.

Enjoyed an exceptional afternoon tea yesterday with friends for an 18th birthday. Food was delicious. Plenty of everything including a proper, home made trifle like my mum used to make. Lovely little personal touches for the birthday girl. They made her feel special. The staff were so welcoming and friendly so thank you to them all.
