Took my mum for her birthday for afternoon tea.Staff lovely and very welcoming but disappointed afternoon tea. Bread plain basic slices.Thought possibly nicer bread like a bloomer.Salad leaves weren’t the freshest either. Fantastic meringues but served with grapes!! Always throught they were served with strawberries and some nice fresh cream so sat munching away on a very large dry meringue. No fairy cakes but muffins 🙁

It is bigger than it looks from the streets and has a small garden at the back with a Mediterranean ambience. The staff are friendly, the food is simple but tasty,it is clean and it seems to very popular with locals. The only drawback is some steep steps and the lack of a grab handle as you enter and leave the little garden, which would be a problem for infirm or partially sighted customers.

We came across this tea room by chance towards the end of our visit to Denbigh which is a quiet town with a big castle - and we didn't regret it. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The tea room is warm and cosy. There is a lovely display of chocolates on show but we just wanted a bite for lunch. When I explained that I didn't like strong coffee the lady offered to bring the coffee in a separate jug so I could add it to my latte. What a good idea which no one has previously suggested! There is a varied menu to cater for all times of the day. I had a tuna sandwich with salad and crisps. The bread was soft and fresh - definitely not your usual salty, dry sliced bread. The salad didn't comprise a few lettuce leaves drenched in oil but included a grape, a slice of strawberry and a slice of orange- very tasty. The service was prompt and the prices are fair. The lady also told us a bit about the history of the tea room. I would say the visit to the tearoom made our visit to Denbigh worthwhile. We may even return just for the bite to eat!

So we visited here on recommendation. It was warm and friendly, and very reasonable prices. The let down was the standard of the coffee and the hot chocolate. We had expected wonderful hot chocolate made with milk and real chocolate- but it was just like any normal one, nothing special at all, despite having the one with cream and a flake. The coffee was wishy washy too sadly. There is a nice selection of cakes and snacks, but nothing that stands out as a 'must go to'.

Made to feel very welcome even though only 2 ladies on and it was very busy. Aren't we glad we lunched at Denbigh Chocolate Shop last week. Because of the exceptional customer service and very reasonably priced food, we returned there today for their afternoon tea. Annie, the owner, and Eleri, her sister, make it their business to ensure customers enjoy their dining experience in a relaxed and happy environment. It is just so obvious how much they enjoy what they do. Our afternoon tea was beautifully presented with so many lovely home made goodies, which included freshly made sandwiches, quiche, scones (with choc bits in them!) with jam and cream, custard tart and chocolates. And it was excellent value!

Iv been to Denbigh chocolate shop many times, usually for a takeout ice cream but while in town today with my partner thought I would treat her while we waited for the chemist to do our prescription - I’m going to ask my dr to prescribe a daily visit to Denbigh chocolate shop - just for health reasons - even though I live bout 12 miles away, my partner’s eyes lit up when she saw the rows of lovely chocolate like a kid in a sweet shop - oh yes we where in the world famous chocolate shop haha, down to business now, the 2 members of staff working were very friendly & chatty, my other 1/2 had the full monty hot chocolate - if u haven’t had one - well I’m not going to describe it apart from what she said - it’s the loveliest hot choc Iv ever had - you just got to go & try it, mine was an ordinary hot choc with cream on top but the taste surpassed that to the point I was drooling, we also had a cheese & onion toastie with side salad & she said after refusing me a taste it was lovely, I had a chocolate ice cream crepe - wow that was so lovely I wanted to lick the plate, next was a visit to the choc counter to take a box of crocs home - now I don’t really like dark chocolate but these ( they do milk choc as well ) where so gorgeous we have said “ we will be back “ ta for the lovely mouth watering experience

I visited Denbigh chocolate shop today at around 3pm and the service was so amazing I felt I had to write a review (which I don't usually do). I didn't get the woman's name but as soon as we arrived she made such a fuss of us, especially my 2 year old niece who was treated like a little princess. I haven't experienced such amazing customer service in a long time and it really made our day and the lady made our first chocolate shop experience such a memorable one, we will definitely be returning! I urge anyone who visits Denbigh to make a stop here, amazing drinks and chocolate but above all, outstanding customer service! Thank you.

Visited the Denbigh Chocolate Shop as part of an 8 year old's birthday celebrations, and we were not disappointed. The chocolate/coffee drinks were exceptional, as were the ice creams and cakes. The whole atmosphere was friendly, largely due to the attentive staff - who provided a special birthday cake and sang "Happy Birthday" !The wide selection of chocolates on offer made it very difficult for 8 & 11 year old's to decide what to choose to as an extra gift!!

Stopped off for coffee and cake but the cake was disappointing. It was ok but nothing special and very small. The chocolates looked good but we didn't try them as they were not "sold" to us I.e. Having read various reviews and asked friends for recommendations for local venues for an afternoon tea we plumped for The Denbigh Chocolate Shop. We try to support independent businesses. Unfortunately it fell completely flat, bearing no resemblance to the photos or reports we'd had. An uneven amount of dry cheese and ham sandwiches roughly cut into triangles and five slices (between three of us) of shop bought cake filled with synthetic cream. A cellophane wrapped piece of cherry bakewell was brought halfway through. A bowl of fresh salad and nice dressing accompanied it, we did have to ask for cutlery to eat it and fresh plates for the cake. A good pot of tea which was refilled promptly. The service was very friendly and at the till we were given "staff discount just because" but £20 still stung a bit!

Popped in here to have a drink with family recently. The owner was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We had a Drinking Choc and a Latte in a small courtyard at the back, although there is indoor seating as well, you wouldn't think there could be so much room as the shop looks small from the front. After stopping in Denbigh on our way to Ruthin we saw something I couldn't resist, a chocolate shop. When we went in we were greeted warmly and told where everything was, chocolates and seating area at the back. We decided to have the afternoon tea at the bargain price of £15, we were very impressed with the size and selection and the mocha I asked for was one of the best I've tasted - and I've had a lot of mochas in a lot of places. After food and drinks I decided to buy some chocolates, I was guided through which ones were nut free and they were delicious. I would definitely go back if I was ever in Wales again.

My sister had a brownie which she said was lovely. As they didnt have my first choice of cake, i settled with a scone which was warmed in the microwave, served with the canned cream (no fresh cream) and strawberry jam. Inside is lovely and well decorated. Service ok, but nothing amazing. Would not go back for the a erage food and drinks we were served.

No visit to Denbigh can be complete without a stop at Denbigh Chocolate Shop and its rather neat cafe which over the last year or so its become quite the place to be seen.Apparently staffed by a distant relative of Willy Wonker himself, you can enjoy a hot chocolate or excellent coffee whilst sampling the coca based merchandise to take away. Light bite lunches such as toasted sandwiches and salad are also available, but the real magic is the sheer variety of chocolates which include Chocolate Pizza, truffles, and a large selection of interesting treats.

This is now called Boba Geeks Cafe. We went in expecting the usually greasy cafe food with frozen chips . We were pleasantly surprised. Home made chips with sausage, egg and beans all cooked to perfection. The chef uses all fresh ingredients in all his food and does a traditional roast on a Sunday. We paid £21 for 3 meals and 3 drinks which I thought was a real bargain.
