Two “small” breakfasts for under £9 in total. Egg, bacon, sausage, beans, hash brown (awesome) and toast. Enough for anyone in a morning, freshly cooked and delicious. Great value and all so tasty.

Well must say this is a strange place, it feels like places I have happened upon in the US!! Indoor water features and lot’s of sayings to live your life to(?!?) dotted around the walls!! Coffee was ok, granulated but hey ho didn’t expect any different!! Service was friendly but the place smelt a bit damp & musty!! I think this pit stop must be an acquired taste!!

The Amber Coffee House is I presume what was previously known as the Ivy Emporium. We came across this establishment while driving on the A548 en route from Blackpool to Caernarfon to ride the Swiss train on the Snowdon mountain Railway. It has a huge car park, but the exterior does not do it justice. I enjoyed pancakes with bacon and maple syrup (a meal I had not had outside or North America previously!) while my wife enjoyed a croque monsieur panini. It was so good we stopped off again on the way back.

Great little place nice to see an old pub put to such good use. Variety is in abundance here with a photographic studio alongside a cafe and gift shop. The gift shop sells a variety of collectibles and homemade items that would fit in any home. Driving along the coast road today we came across this little hidden gem. Friendly warm welcome on entering, exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated. We didn’t have to wait long and our piping hot food was served. We have just eaten a lovely brunch, bacon, eggs, beans, chips and the amazingly best sausages I’ve ever eaten... even my two little boys enjoyed them and that’s rare. The sausages where unique and so tasty. The brunch didn’t have any fat or grease residue on the plate, it was cooked to perfection, if your passing by the coast road between mostyn and Prestatyn call in as it will be the best cooked breakfast/brunch you will ever eat. We will be calling again 👍

The atmosphere was good and the breakfast enjoyable. It would appear they have a good local or regular trade as many of the customers were known to the staff on entering. The pictures and quotations on the walls were fascinating and made good reading. The experience was enjoyable and an hour soon went by, just in time as Lobitos finished fitting the new brakes as we returned at the tyre depot.

Never been in such a dirty cafeteria in my life. Toilets in need of a good clean, cobwebs all over the place. More like a Second hand car sales gone wrong. If you like being ripped off, there are cheap and nasty gifts you can purchase. Are party of four made the mistake of visiting this dump on Friday and would suggest if you are passing through North Wales, you give this place a wide birth. A little further along the road heading into Prestatyn you'll find the Bells of St Mary's were you'll find the people pleasant, food good and well priced.

We popped in about 11am on Monday the 19th June and received a wonderful welcome from Tariq the owner whom we had met previously at his Rhyl establishments. We have sampled coffee in dozens of eateries in North Wales and have to say that the coffee we had today was the best by far. We were fascinated by the lovely ornaments on display and by the proverbs decorating the walls. Friendly, efficient service, wonderful coffee and comfortable surroundings. What more could one possibly want?

We visited based on trip advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. If totally honest when we first walked into the building I wasn't sure we had gone to the right place as it was like a antique shop however you then walk through to a lovely cafe area. Food is reasonably priced and presented really well, most importantly it tasted good. The lady serving us was lovely and happy to accommodate our small tweaks on the menu items with no questions. I will definitely go again when in the area

Sunday morning found us calling in for breakfast, bright and friendly atmosphere. We ordered our breakfast and coffees - the coffee has to be the best for miles around, and our food arrived not too long after. I must say that we don't think it's worth putting the oven on, buying and cooking the breakfast items and clearing away afterwards when you can come and have such a good choice of well cooked and presented food here. It's a winner!

When we found this Barista Cafe some years ago, we instantly adopted it as our coffee outing and meeting place with friends. The food and snacks are great but the coffee cannot be beaten. There is nowhere, not even in touristy Chester, that makes such good coffee plus offers an extensive variety. Ian, when not busy in the kitchen, always remembers and welcomes us. The lady behind the counter is helpful, efficient and friendly. We have never had to wait for service. Today I browsed round the lovely ornaments etc, for sale. There are some great, original and inexpensive Christmas presents to be had! The decor is lovely, not jaded like so many cafes around the north of Wales. If you are on a drive along the north Wales, coastal road, The Ivy Emporium is truly worth a visit.

The food piping hot and plentiful. Coffee was one of the best I have had. As we now own a caravan on Talacre a short walk away we will be making this a regular place to visit. Lunch menu looks good so that will be reviewed soon Iam sure. Sorry we have passed this hidden treasure so many times without calling in but now found this won't be happening.

I've eaten at The Ivy Emporium on a few occasions as its very close to our caravan and I'm not that keen on eating at the local carvery. I'm always impressed by the way we are welcomed when we arrive as everyone goes out of their way to make us feel important, especially Tariq, the owner. The food is always freshly cooked to order, using the very best ingredients and is nicely presented. There is an excellent choice of coffees and specialty teas available with all of the usual lattes and cappuccinos, together with more unusual choices on offer. I always enjoy looking round the bric-a-brac items for sale while I wait for my food as they have some very unusual things and I rarely come away without buying something. This business is very much a work in progress so please don't be put off by the outside. The food and welcome are well worth a visit.

We stopped for a toasted sandwich and coffee which was very nice and good value. Service was quick friendly and efficient (but the place wasn't full). It was a little confusing as the merge of photo studio, cafe and items for sale was quirky but we could understand why it wouldn't be everyones choice. This place has a history of being a pub / restaurant with various success. The problem then as now is the approach only gained from one direction of the road and location which is about 5min drive from prestatyn. Want to go somewhere different, try here.

I take my 90 year old mother out for late breakfast/early lunch every Tuesday. She lives in Wallasey on the Wirral and I always try and ring the changes by taking her to various places on the Wirral, Chester, Southport and North Wales. Of all the places visited this is her overwhelming favourite and we have been 6 times over the last 9 months, although it's an hour's drive away. The welcome is always warm and Tariq, the owner is a most genial host. The food is always tasty, freshly prepared and really good value. Mother's favourite is the full breakfast and although it is substantial she always manages to clear her plate. When her appetite is not so keen she will have a cheese omelete which she maintains is the best she has ever had. She is similarly enthusiastic regarding the Latte coffees of which she is quite a connoisseur. I usually choose a light snack - cheese toasties, panninis, jacket potato etc. All freshly made and recommended. The premises are very interesting with many objets d'art and tasteful souvenirs on display. Situated on the main A548 towards Prestatyn it could easily be driven past at speed - recommend you slow down and give it a try!

I've now been to the Ivy Emporium several times on visits to family in the area. We've been at different times of the day and week and the food and welcome are always the same. Warm welcome and hot food cooked just the way food should be. We've had to wait on occasion when they've been busy but that's ok when you see what they serve up. It's always delicious and served from the pan not kept warm on a hot plate or nuked in a microwave. The owner Tariq seems to know everyone and is the proverbial genial host. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the place is always clean and tidy, no tables piled high with other people's leftovers. It just feels like going home to mamma's cooking. The Ivy Emporium also sells lovely gifts and nick knacks, the kids love having a nosey round. We found this place by accident on Sunday after making our way to the Bell Inn Toby carvery towards Prestatyn but after finding it very poorly managed with dirty tables laden with left over meals and having to evacuate the building due to a fire alarm going off, we left and picked up the A458 and headed back to Mostyn where we came across The Ivy Emporium and Ballista cafe which proved to be really good. The interior design is very nicely done and still retains the old beamed ceiling from when it used to be a pub, which closed down some time ago.The dining tables and chairs are comfortable and in the middle of the room is a wood burning stove which was lit that day.The staff are very friendly and made us feel welcome and our meals were brought over by the owner who is a super chap.Yes,you have to wait a bit for your meals but are made to order, so are fresh and not out of freezer and microwaved into oblivion. After finishing our meals, the owner came back and told us about the restaurant and its history and was very grateful for our compliments on presentation of the food and qualitity.Alcohol is not served here but if you are driving anyway, drink driving is a no-no (ask anyone who as been the victim of a drunk driver) and is replaced with tea, coffee and soft drinks.Overhaul,it was a pleasant experience coming here and it is clean. We will be back!

We were surprised to see the name had changed but went in anyway, only to discover that it no longer had a bar and had turned into a weird cafe come greasy spoon type place. We first called in here some time ago after the Ivy had re-opened as an eating establishment. It's actually on the Coast Road, with a very big car park and all the facilities you'd expect. We've returned over and over again for lots of reasons. Firstly the VERY reasonable prices for freshly made food; the VERY friendly proprietor and his staff who are very helpful; it is quiet and yet people are always coming and going and the menu which suits us for a light meal or breakfast with EXCELLENT coffee! Yes, you COULD call at another place not far down the road but the experience would be the COMPLETE opposite of here and having been to both we know which we prefer and why!!! We think that locals and visitors alike are lucky to have such a welcoming and pleasant establishment in this area!

On entering the Ivy Emporium you're not quite sure what to expect. There's a professional photography studio and a good assortment of gifts for sale some of which raise a smile from yours truly. This is a Barista coffee house so I was watching carefully as the latte I ordered was made. I have to hand it to them, the title Barista is deserved and the coffee is excellent. It's also a cafe, but not the ordinary egg and chips cafe you might expect from a (near) seaside cafe. There are a selection of special burgers, paninis, baked potatoes, salads and yes even breakfasts but they're made individually and served fresh. What really was the icing on my cake- The Staff. They were the Tops. Cheery, helpful and generous to a fault. Not a place you'll stay away from for long.
