The Crescent Fish & Chips in Flintshire

Went at 12.15 and 2 portions out of 3 of the chips looked reheated so I asked if they were fresh. One person behind the counter looked confused by the question and another employee advised everything is fresh.... The pics look better than the reality of what we had, 2 portions were shrivelled up and cold. Only 1 portion of chips looks fresh and tasted different from the other 2. I have experienced this twice now so will be mindful to wait till its busier or look at the chips before placing an order

The best fish and chips in flint and you got to have the hot curry sauce . and the only plastic you see is the top on the sauce outstanding

Superb. Order a food tray of pie, peas, chips n gwavy for a fiver. You can't beat that.

Quality chippy. Wouldn't go anywhere else

Only used this place once before cos we just moved into the town. Food was alright, but not great. 2nd visit disastrous I was given someone else's order! When ordering I Asked the girl if they did Haddock?she said what's a Haddock! And also what was a gherkin! Staff training required I think?

Great food cooked fresh and delicious

The fish are freshly cooked as you order and to your liking.if you are a big eater then the portions are more than adequate or as we do is share between 2 .be prepared to wait a little while as the shop is very popular at certain times.

Delicious food from here last night. Fresh, tasty fish. Fresh, proper chips. Large sausages were good, as were the peas. The spam in batter was a bit bland, but that is spam, I suppose. Despite a big queue (a good sign), service was quick and friendly. Lots of pie choice on the board too!!!

Not the best quality of food Staff friendly. It is easy to park by, but there are better chip shops nearby . Food quality was our main disappointment.

Discusting fish and chips the batter tasted bad and was quickly made both looked and tasted bad they were immediately put into a bin, total waste of money,oh and the whole shop needs to be cleaned and repainted Avoid like covid

I was on my way home from a meeting and instead of using a55 I went along coast rd because of I was told about this place. Best fish and chips I’ve had in along time, and with onion gravy OMG the best. Staff very friendly, price reasonable.👍

Great food, great service highly recommend

There was a queue to be served before and after me so I was expecting the food to be good. Have to say it didn't disappoint, the fish was beautiful with crispy batter, and the peas, curry and chips were also good. Fast service, generous portions and reasonably priced. Highly recommended 👌

The best fish & chips in Flint and probably one of the finest I've ever eaten 😃 Crispy and juicy fish and the best fried chips. Curry sauce here is the legend. Standard price, you never wait long for your order.

I thought it was the best chippy in the town until i found a long blonde hair in my peas. It's a shame because I usually go every Wednesday and pick up fish chips and peas for my elderly mother, I will have to go somewhere else unfortunately.So sorry to write this review

Never had a bad fish and chips here yet! Only downside is opening hours don't seem to align with when they are actually open, so always have a back up plan if you take a trip here. The women working there are always super lovely and do a great job of giving you fresh or of the fryer fish!

This is a lovely fish and chip shop in Flint and when I visit my grandchildren they always ask for a meal from here.

Excellent chip shop on main coast road

Mum and dad 91 and 90.....stopped off after shopping to get fish and chips (probably one between them😊)- my mum drove and she went in as dad wasn't too good that day. When she had ordered and paid , the lady (I think it was a lady) asked her if she wanted them taking to the car......mum declined the offer and said she was OK as she had parked in a nearby car park. I had to put a review here after mum told me over the phone. What a lovely person behind the counter, thank you for being such a caring and thoughtful person. The fish and chips were fab too.

What, can I say. Lived in chester for 15 years. The Crescent Chipshop as to be the best I have ever had. The best value for chips and fish in the whole county. Chris and is wounderfull wife always with a great welcom and a smile. Great team work from the staff as well. Thanks both for the great food and service once again. All the best from Gianni. Great service from Sara and the team. The whole family enjoys their food, especially my 3year old who looks forward to our fish and chips day and has the kids fish finger meal. She loves the box and puzzles they come with. Apart from the fish and chips, the battered sausage is excellent, and likewise their gravy, mushy peas and tartare sauce. They really are the best around. Order ahead to beat the queue!

Although it is rated in the top 50 fish and chip shops it is,at best,average. It only shows what a complete sham these surveys are. Whilst the fish are acceptable the chips are tasteless. The peas are something else. The ones I were served were a cold, dark green mush. They looked as if they had been scraped off the residue of a luke warm pan and were completely inedible. If it had not been for the fish being ok I would have returned the peas. Although I feel that the 'top 50' survey is completly misleading, I would comment that the Golden Fry in Benllech is of a far better standard.

Best fish and chips in North Wales

Drove 40 minutes to this fish and chip shop as reviews were o.k and ones round me were closed. I wish I haven’t. Worse fish and chips I have ever had. I asked for large cod and if that’s their large then what is their small like! I was charged for the large but I ? Was it! Large chips were cold shrivelled up probably hours old being kept warm, tasted of cardboard. I was overcharged by 50p when I asked how much, it’s not going to break the bank but it’s wrong, I did not question it as the girl had not put my two pieces of fish and chips in the bag. It’s a shame as it was part of my 3 day holiday. Never mind we learn from our mistakes 😞

Fish and chips were gorgeous and big portions, ordered a large sausage as well which I didn't receive but that was an accident I think. I would buy food from here again if I was in the area.

Called in this chippy tonight.im very disappointed. The fish tasted old and the batter looked like it had been reheated. The chips were very greasy. I'd really looked forward to trying this chippy after the good reviews id read.

Covid safety appalling. Woman behind counter refused to wear mask, and then when I questioned her about why, she passive-aggressively put it over her mouth but not her nose, breathing all over the food she was serving, and was rude to me. Avoid.

Found this on a day tour to Flint. Such a gracious lady on the counter who helped us with our order - fresh chips and fish. Loved the taste. Do pay a visit or order from if you’re around.

Phoned an order for 6 through and picked it up 20 mins later, all fresh and hot...not greasy! The man that took the order over the phone was really friendly and helpful. Fish was lovely and flaky, batter wasn't dripping in fat like some places! Paid on collection. Following guidelines due to the covid pandemic they allow 2 customers in at a time, face mask to be worn when relevant!

My friend and I stopped off here today on our way to Holywell. I had seen it listed in the Daily Telegraph's Top 50 best fish and chip shops. Last time we were in Holywell it was on a day the chip shop was closed. We will definitely call in again. It was well worth the detour. Lovely light batter on the fish and delicious chips. Friendly, happy service. What more could you want?

Tried the crescent chip shop for the first time yesterday. Was very impressed with the quality of the food. The cod was freshly cooked and packed away with a generous portion of lovely hot chips. The peas were good too. Staff were friendly and polite and as a shop they are taking covid regulations very seriously which was good to see. I will be returning, and I'm keen to try the battered sausage. Would definitely recommend.

A cracking chippy serving good quality fish and chips freshly cooked as you order so none of that stuff that's been hanging around in the heated display cabinets for half an hour or more! The batter was heavenly and the fish was melt in the mouth tasty. We travelled out of our way to this chippy because other reviews seemed pretty good. We are glad we believed them. If we are in the area again we wouldn't hesitate to call in for another meal.

OMG, Me and my family tried this fish & chip shop as it had good reviews and its only fish & chip shop that sells cod fish unless you go to Prestatyn or Mold.. It was the first time we tried this shop and omg it was excellent the fish was beautifully cooked and chips were lovely... My daughter had peas and curry sauce and that also taste fabulous. We travelled from Holywell to try them and we will definitely be back the best fish and chips I have had in a very long time , would recommend it to anyone you will not be disappointed. The staff were also lovely A1 Service thank you :)

Ive been here a few times the people are so nice the fish and chips are good curry sauce is nice to i personally found it a little expensive but the quality of the food does come throught with the price .

Kind of 50/50 with this review. Great food for money. Bought battered beef burger with fried onions on a bap, portion of small chips with curry and a tray of small chips, gravy and large sausage. Whilst the burger with chips and curry was lovely, the tray of chips, gravy and sausage let it down. The gravy was horrid and there were a few hairs found on the chips and sausage. I don't wanna say what kind of hairs but certainly put off the consumption of the food. Very disappointed really :(
