The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Highland Highlands and Islands

Lovely little place … confused by the opening and closing times .. never the same twice also doesn’t match what it says online shame

I think it maybe under new management as the menu has changed with a new Chef. The food was really good but basic pub grub. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice and cosy. We will go back but more for a night out alone rather than an occasion.

Staying in Drumnadrochit for the weekend. Called the Benleva Hotel Restaurant on Saturday evening and booked a table for the following evening. When we arrived for dinner, the lady seemed surprised to see us and told us that the restaurant was closed. Very disappointing - we won’t be back.

Tucked away on the Isle of Mull, the Salen Hotel was a welcome surprise on our journey a quiet, charming spot to grab some food and unwind with a pint. The hotel has that classic old-school Scottish charm, with warm wooden interiors and a laid-back pub feel that makes you want to settle in and stay a while. We stopped in just for a meal and drinks, but the hospitality made it feel like more than just a pit stop. The menu had some hearty staples nothing too fancy, but exactly what you want after a long day exploring. The fish and chips were crisp and flaky, and the soup of the day warmed us right up. Paired with a cold local ale, it hit the spot perfectly. The bar staff were friendly, offering up recommendations and sharing a bit about the area when asked. Locals chatted nearby, adding to the authentic, down-to-earth atmosphere. It’s not flashy or over-polished, but that’s part of its appeal. Whether you’re staying overnight or just passing through, Salen Hotel makes for a solid place to refuel and take a breather.

A very local pub with no pretensions. They appreciated a reservation as they had a big party coming in and the kitchen is small. Food was good, but took a while to arrive. I had chicken nuggets. There were seven huge nuggets plus fries. Such a deal.

Absolutely diabolical. Take my advice and steer clear of this place. The staff can’t speak or understand English. The food was Luke warm, tasted horrible and portions were small, the salad consisted of lettuce, onion & olives only. The prices are exorbitant for what you get. I will be amazed if this place lasts. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Never again.

Fantastic to have so many GF options to eat. We both opted for GF pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and a coffee. The coffee was perfection and the pancakes utterly delicious. Big, fluffy and just THE best find in Inverness! Thank you ❤️

Excellent wee place, surprisingly busy for a November morning. Plenty menu choices, I opted for the cooked breakfast which was first class as was the service. 100% recommend.

Fuimos a almorzar, pero la comida parecía poco apetitosa y había muy poca elección. Decidió simplemente tomar un café que era bastante estándar.

Realmente disfruté de una visita aquí, con muy buen desayuno y un servicio eficiente y muy amable. Al estar en una carretera principal en las afueras de Inverness y con fácil aparcamiento gratuito, lo hace aún mejor.

Another of my favourite cafes which has gone downhill recently! This time, they have lost the chap who was their star baker (IMO) . Soup is in quite a small bowl now but no matter…costs must be horrendous for cafes these days. But the cake selection! Mostly GF or vegan..Why?? The vast majority of people don’t require these food fad options so why make the majority of cakes along these lines? I was told , wrongly, by the girl owner that ‘they just taste the same’ but they most certainly don’t. There is no substitute for quality butter/good chocolate etc. Anyway, I chose the carrot cake which to me, was one of the best anywhere but it was truly awful. When I mentioned that the recipe seemed to have changed somewhat, I learned that their baker had left and the owner had ‘tried’ his own recipe. So disappointed in this once great wee cafe.

Even the owner was wearing a coat! I think you should be able to sit comfortably and eat without the need to wear a coat! At 12.15 the soup wasn't ready yet... The place lacked atmosphere as well. The food we ordered was nice but minimal - no salad with a toasty. I wouldn't go again

The place was stinking, the toilets could make you gag and the upstairs bar smelt of vomit. Excellent place for darts and pool to be fair but the staff were not interested and couldn’t wait for everyone to leave

While traveling some of my co-workers told me about this place and how great it was and how I should definitely visit it while I'm here. Well I took their advice and I'm very happy I did so. Customer service was excellent. I will definitely be back.
