Corner on the Square at Tiso Outdoor Experience in Highland

Really enjoyed a visit here, with very good breakfast and efficient and very friendly service. With it being on a main road on the outside of Inverness and with easy free parking, it makes it all the better.

£7 for a hotdog which was comically small, and yet the sausage was still sticking out the sides of the tiny bun. Really not getting what you pay for anywhere these days, but this was ridiculous. Wish I had taken a picture.

Came in for lunch, was busier than I expected but we had soup and potatoes which were fine, coffee was nice also. Attractive display of cakes but resisted this time

Both the latte and cappuccino we had were mediocre at best. I don’t mind paying a premium for good coffee but the drinks we had today were very poor. Weak and pretty much flavourless. We had been looking forward to a nice coffee but were sadly disappointed. We won’t be back.

I took a friend here who was up visiting as I've had nice lunches here before. Today however was really disappointing. I ordered the corination chicken panini, see the picture below. This was £9.50, I think a pretty poor excuse for what it should have been. Not sure I'll be back if this is the standard of the food now.

Friendly service and they did not mind me taking an hour over my pot of tea while waiting for my windscreen to be replaced across the road.

Myself and a friend went to tiso Inverness today for quick bite to eat. The setting is very airy and welcoming, the menu was nice, between a restaurant and a cafe. We got a table and I placed the order, two bowls of soup. I was going to order two rolls but was told it came with bread and butter. The server told me she would take the order to us, which was nice. A few minutes later the soup arrived. Decent sized bowls which could have been filled a bit more in my opinion. The soup was very tasty. The only problem I had was with the bread, not thick crusty bread and only three quarters of a slice. Yes one slice cut into four pieces and we were given three pieces. Both plates of soup came with three bits of bread, each bit was one quarter of a whole slice. I cannot really understand the level of saving in giving a customer three quarters of a slice of bread instead of a whole slice. Anyway, nice visit, but three quarters of a slice of bread, bizarre.

Great selection of healthy and none healthy food, cold and hot drinks to suit (coffee comes with a chocolate always a good idea). Black pudding salad was delicious.

The lunch today was terrible and my husband actually felt sick afterwards. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t go back

Staff friendly but in 2020 not even soup vegan, had to make do with jacket spud and baked beans. Felt like it was still 1990. No imagination, very disappointed.

Poco decepcionados con Tiso, deberían pasar menos tiempo charlando y más tiempo hablando con clientes y ayudando tanto en la tienda como en la cafetería. En el café había mesas que estaban sucias y necesitaban limpieza, pero encontraron tiempo para conversar.

As per above, food standards have gone down recently. Nothing like Corner on the Square and a poor advertisement fo it. Service is very good though, pleasant staff at all times.

We were on our way through the north of Inverness and found this gem above a very cool outdoor shop. It is worth a visit, the shop the restaurant. Very friendly staff and good food.

Good food and scones, but don't ask for JAM if having a scone each as one pot will do two scones because they charge an arm and a leg for a scone with JAM. Since being stung here I now fill the wee pot with jam before I go to cafes or restaurants that charge too much for a wee pot of Jam.

So this place was an inspired choice. Had both lunch and breakfast there over the last few days. Tasty soup, nice sandwiches and a very good breakfast. Nothing not to like here especially if you also happen to be a Mountain Kit geek!!😂 A big recommend!!

Been a few times now to coffee shop within Tiso Inverness it’s lovely. Reasonable choice on the menu for a coffee shop homemade soup available , home baking etc . Toastie’s come with lovely side salad all good prices . I recommend the soup & sandwich offer 👍

Very friendly staff. Great location. Great coffee and cake AND there is softplay! Well worth a visit to look round the shop too, great depth of ranges of clothing and bikes.

Normalmente intentamos entrar y tomar un café o comer en Tiso, como su comida es normalmente servido por un personal genial, agradable y en un entorno agradable. Imaginar mi decepción cuando decidí llevar a un amigo a comer después de indicarles lo bueno que era, sólo para encontrar que el estándar general han decrecido desde la última vez que estuve allí. Para ser justos, la comida aún estaba bien y mi haggis & chili sandwichera era excelente. Era más el nivel general de la zona de asientos que noté un cambio. Estaba sucio y cansado en el mejor de los casos, con una especie de mal estado. Las mesas estaban sucias, el suelo estaba sucio y muebles necesitaba una buena limpieza. Probablemente le daría otra oportunidad en el futuro y sólo porque me gusta su comida, pero no hay duda de que necesita una renovación.

The staff are really friendly and accommodating of my bespoke orders. Fab baking and light bites. Rolls very fresh and they even cut the fat off your bacon!!!!

A nice staff is performing the service. We arrived in the morning from Amsterdam. We took a full scottisch breakfast with coffee. It arrived quickly and fresh cooked for a reasonable price. The staff was more aware of customers than in the quit store where we unfortunatly not succeeded.

Always a lovely and friendly service from this small but relaxed cafe . Wonderful selection of cake and biscuits but also a fine choice of hot snacks also , full choice of tea and coffee adds to this cracking stop off . Relaxed seating allows you to chill , read or chat .

Regular visitors to this cafe. Always enjoy it as it has such a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, great coffee & the best scones. Staff not the friendliest but generally polite.

Vamos a este café con regularidad, ya que tiene una comida fantástica y el ambiente es vibrante, hay muchos de los periódicos para examinar, junto con la gran caja de juguetes para niños hace de este un ambiente para los niños. Par esto con la facilidad de tener aparcamiento hace obvia.

Visita a comprar algunas nuevas botas y no tenía mi café para el día. Ni siquiera ha dado cuenta era la hora de comer. Todos optamos por varios tostado relleno tipo que eran similares en todos los sitios te atienden. Llegó a pocos minutos BLT como calculamos fue más populares (ver foto) con las ofertas especiales teniendo poquito más. Un café bastante bueno. Buen servicio y obviamente popular con la gente local.

Lovely cakes and excellent coffee. Got their a bit late but the lady was kind enough to serve us before closing. Lots of parking. Nice staff and very friendly.

Have been for lunch now three or four times , great food , quickly served , no frills, good relaxed surroundings. Hearty paninis,great choice , good quality fillings. How they turn out so much good food in such a small area is worth watching!

Recientemente me llevé a mi hijo y a Tiso pals para usar la pared de escalada para su cumpleaños, mientras estaban haciendo que me subió a la esquina en la cafetería Plaza. Yo tenía un café americano y nos sentamos con vistas a la pared de escalada. Nos quedamos a las 4:30 pm almuerzo había terminado y había sólo unos pocos otros tomar té/café. El personal era amable y educado, el ambiente era relajado, había una selección de asientos, asientos de bar de desayuno, sillas y mesa normal y sofás. Aunque no comer nada en esta ocasión parecía ser una buena selección de comida caliente y fría. Incluso si no compras en Tiso, este sería un buen lugar para un rápido aperitivo taza y o.

Siempre es bueno entrar a Tiso, no sólo para ver qué pedazo de kit exterior será el próximo en mi lista de deseos, pero también para tomar una copa y comer un bocado. El café es excelente (posiblemente uno de los mejores de la ciudad), y a pesar de la cocina absolutamente minúsculo, la selección de aperitivos y sopas es buena y sobre todo coherente. Usted será recibido como un viejo amigo y servido con una sonrisa, incluso cuando se pone un poco ocupado. Siendo a mi lugar.

Subir las escaleras de caracol a la pequeña cafetería con sillas y mesas. Problema es su muy caliente, algunas aire acondicionado sería una buena!

Muy bueno la primera vez que visitamos nos volvimos una segunda vez antes de salir de Inverness. Creo que el más destacado fue una sopa picante chole aunque ambas comidas tuvimos aquí era buena y sabrosa. Puede llegar a estar muy concurrida en el almuerzo.

Llamado hoy por una comida para llevar café. Gran servicio como de costumbre y el café era divino! También puedo recomendar para comidas, aperitivos y tartas deliciosas.

Was in here for a quick coffee today for the first time ever.I was dubious when I saw that the cafe is owned by Corner on the Square in Beauly, as have had recent poor experiences in there.However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The coffee was tasty, strong, and (most importantly) served hot.Nice relaxed atmosphere, too.

My mother and I found this place around 8 months ago and we can't leave it alone. Everything about this place is great. You're welcomed with smiling faces from the staff and a warm hello before sitting down. The menu itself is an extensive selection of sandwiches; toasties; paninis; salads etc and all are made fresh. The soups of the day are always delightful no matter what the flavour and the cakes are to die for. Well behaved dogs are always welcome as well, so for a dog lover such as myself it's just an added bonus. Whenever my mother and I are in Inverness we always make time for a quick Tiso coffee, always a favourite.

Visited for a short business meeting, the space was a bit cramped and it would be nice if the cafe were able to expand! Food looked very appetising and service was prompt and efficient. I hope to return for lunch to try the food!

Coffee, soup & sandwiches - at the top end of what you expect from a coffee shop in an outdoor store.

This is our regular coffee/lunch stop in Inverness. We called in quite late 16:00hrs, yesterday after the cinema. Fortunately their soups were still available so we both had the Soup/Sandwich Combo. I had the Spicy Dhal soup with a Cheese Sandwich on brown, whilst my wife had the Carrot & Coriander with Egg Mayo on brown. We both had coffee, always excellent here and a slice of Chocolate/Toffee Tiffin. As ever excellent quality and portions. Served by very friendly staff. Great place to visit. Highly recommended. Free WiFi.

I took my mum and dad here for lunch. All of our meals were nicely presented and very tasty. The coffee was very good quality, as were the cakes. The ladies all provided excellent service and were friendly and helpful. It was so good that I met friends there for coffee and cakes two days later! Easy parking too.

Took my 4 granddaughters here for lunch today and the food was lovely.We all had something different.Two of us had the soups.They have 2 choices everyday.Today was Butternut squash and sweet potato and the other curry parsnip.Both lovely soups.The others had toasties and sandwiches which were also good.Will be back there

Special toasties was very tasty today Service ok and order came in dribs and drabs. Neil had a ciabatta but more like a hoagie quite disappointed .

The beverages are good, but the staff lack much customer care. As a regular user of the café at the Tiso, Perth, I was deeply disappointed.

My wife and I always visit this cafe at the same time as patronizing Alpine Bikes and Tiso's. Best coffee in Inverness and relaxed atmosphere surrounded by outdoor kit- brilliant.

I had broccoli soup and a ham "salad" sandwich. Soup not bad nothing brilliant. The sandwich!!!! a skim of butter in the middle ham and some lettuce leaves. No time, thought or effort put into the making of this poor excuse for a ham salad sandwich. Five members of staff for a dozen or so tables. Don't think I'll be back.Poor.

On the edge of town with plenty of parking. Nice selection of food, mainly lunch type, hot/cold and good variety of home baking. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with tables/chairs or comfy couches. Very helpful staff.

My wife and I have visited the Corner on the Square at Tiso several times over the last few years. Strangely I've never reviewed them before. The cafe is situated upstairs inside the Tiso Outdoor superstore (one of their larger outlets). The cafe is open plan with views over the lower shopping floor. There is a toilet downstairs, inside the bicycle section. The café serves excellent coffee, and even has a loyalty card system that entitles you to a free hot drink after you've filled the card. They serve an excellent range of cakes and pastries. Hot food is served too, though we've only tried the soup and the panini's, both of which were excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and always have a kind word with regulars and new customers alike. Once you've ordered your food or drink it's brought to your table, a nice touch. There is free WiFi too. One of the better coffee stops in Inverness. Highly Recommend.

We have been here many times, sometimes twice in one week. Always found the staff to be friendly and professional. Coffee and cakes are some of the best in the area, also had toasted sandwiches and paninis. Gets very busy near lunch time and even in the week there always seems to be people in having " meetings ", maybe they are reps? Free WiFi for those that want it and lots to look at in the shop below. Lift available for those who struggle with stairs. One set of stairs is a winding stairs the other set are wide with good handrails. Definitely recommend this café.

My partner & I have been regulars here for a few years. For a coffee & cake it is as good anywhere in the area. We like the chocolate syrup on the frothy cappuccino [which is reasonably priced] -if you don't like it say no chocolate please & they won't put any on! The cakes are good, but I have found the lunches not always to my taste although all the soups have been excellent. Service is good but like everywhere can be a little slow when busy. We will continue our regular visits & get our loyalty card stamped for a free coffee now & then.

We thought we would try this place again, we won't be back. In particular:1. On very cold windy morning we needed a warm cosy place for a coffee, the place was distinctly cool and we left still feeling cold.2. Why do they put syrup on the cappuccino without asking, nowhere else does it and not everyone likes it, including ourselves.3. We didn't enjoy the coffee, a cappuccino is expensive and ours wasn't worth the money.So here are my suggestions. Warm the place up a bit on cold days, ask every customer if they would like syrup and organise some barista training for the staff so they can make a decent coffee.

The welcome was cool, the coffee horrible and they put choc syrup on a cappachino without asking us. When we returned a coffee because of this we got a really frosty reception. The vanilla slice wasn't very nice either. I feel the staff could do with some extra training on dealing with customers in friendly and pleasant way. Making decent coffee would be a good idea as well. Not recommended.

Nicely presented toastie on horrible bread! Lovely side salad. One order totally forgotten about but apologies given and seemed sincere, bit of a wait though. I would still go back and give it another try but not particularly impressed on this occasion.

I meet up with friends here for lunch once a month. It's great food, friendly service and casual atmosphere. You can be as quick or as long as you choose. It's great, which is why we keep going back.
