Fantastic place can't wait to go back. The staff work so hard and are very pleasant with an atmosphere that keeps you smiling, now creating a french cafe with light lunches and cake served with ground coffee and soft music perfect for a relaxing few hours.

I have got to be totally honest here. The staff were absolutely fantastic 11/10 but the food was inedible. I mean really bad. The chicken burger although it was very big....was bad. Funny texture.....one of the worst I've had anywhere. The curry was very bland and watery. The steak pie thing was.....I actually doesn't know what to say......I'll stick to real...bad. Absolutely go for the alcohol as they do good offers and it's cheap. The staff honestly just couldn't have been better. Also brilliant with dogs. For food I just couldn't ever recommend.....so so soooooo unfortunate :( x

Food was available. Went in an hour before big football match and got served about five minutes. Friendly

I've updated my review since it reopened after the badly thought out refurbishment. Things I like This is the only place on Byres Road to get a Venti (huge) latte. Very central location - right next to the underground. The staff are nice and friendly Things I don't like: The coffee has a bit less twang or flavour than some of the other places I tried The new refurbishment (while needed), has clearly been done by people who don't understand what a coffee shop is for. The flow for queueing is now awful. They eliminated a lot of downstairs seating which makes the place look sterile and corporate.

Nothing says “welcome back” like passive-aggressively turning off the TV mid-game because we hadn’t yet bought a drink. We were literally waiting until half-time — minutes away — to head to the bar, as we’ve done countless times before. What we assume was the manager (a thoroughly miserable man) decided to come over and lecture us on “pub etiquette” and how we were just taking up space… despite the place being practically empty. He then shut the TV off like we were misbehaving children and told us it’s staying off until we buy something. To be fair, one of the staff members we spoke to earlier was polite — it’s just a shame the “manager” was so childish and seemed more interested in flexing his authority than offering any basic hospitality. Nice customer service, mate. Hope the power trip was worth it — we won’t be back anytime soon.
