Naked Soup in Glasgow City

My partner and I always visit Naked soup for brunch. They have a wide range of bagel sandwiches and we love their chicken aioli one which we complement with a bowl of side soup. My favorite is their lentil soup with coconut crumbs, delicious!

Food is great, decent price but the queue & service is so slow. No matter if getting takeaway or sitting in, same queue and same incredibly slow service.

Watery tomatoe soup... The lentil one is delicious though.

A hidden gem, on a side street, but very popular, and for good reason.

Came here on two occasions recently one for afternoon drink. Had one of their signature cocktails was brilliant! Wish I tried to food sooner as the next day I came by for soup and sandwich... wow 👌 really hit the spot. Cracking place if your local and wanting somewhere to drink or eat.

We went here for a late lunch, very relaxed spot with excellent food I got the soup and sandwich with a nice cocktail as well.

Came for cocktails last week. They had their own unique twist on Margarita which was brilliant with their lager. Also had a ?Margarato? The one with Rum. Brilliant! All in all a good experience. Good place to sit and catch a few rays while watching the world go by. Will be back for more!

The most favourite soup place near the university. I and my friends asked tap water but they forgot to serve us but that’s understandable as it was busy as always. My recommendation is to provide self-service tap water. Appreciate the Naked soup team to try their best to accommodate all of the customers!

Only disappointment is that I didn’t eat here sooner! The food was great and the shop was so cute. Wish I could go back!

Lovely spot that's become an anchor for the neighborhood (and makes me wonder why there aren't more places like this?). Great place to get a well-made, good-value lunch that's not a chippy or a burger joint, then transforms into a cozy bar in the evening, with a small but thoughtful range of beers, wines and cocktails. Super popular with Europeans for some reason, so there's a remarkably multi-lingual vibe. They just did a renovation last month, and it looks fantastic. Only complaint is that the new chairs and stools are tiny and rickety, which makes them less comfy than before, but that's a small issue in the grand scheme.

I go here often and I am always happy with affordable delicious soups and smiling lovely staff. Could start selling merch again, though, please!!!

Came here for soup and bagels for lunch! Very tasty soup and generously filled bagels! Very busy and very limited seating, long wait in queue to be seated - would be off putting if it was pouring but luckily we enjoyed some sun

I went here with a work colleague as we heard good things about the quality of food. Sadly, that’s where it ends. We walked in and were not greeted at all by any staff behind the counter. We were stared at as if we had 3 heads and were left feeling confused and uncomfortable. We went and sat down on one of the tables of two and we’re given dirty looks by the depressing staff members who acted as if they were planning a funeral. Every single table was wobbly and unstable. After 10 minutes of being sat with no hello or menus or told that we had to order at the counter. We swiftly walked out shaking our heads. How not to run a cafe. I have no idea what the hype is about. Only go and visit if you want tips on how not to run a business!

Had a lovely lunch at the Naked Soup. I went for their deal of small soup and bagel, tomato soup with a cream cheese and salmon bagel. Amazing!!!! The food was so fresh and tasty and the staff were lovely and super friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Naked Soup is a special place! The bagels and soups are to die for, the recipes change often and I keep wanting to come back for more. Everything is curated, the space, the food and the atmosphere in general. In the evening it turns into a bar with candles and fun cocktails. The coolest people hang out there, there’s a reason for that! One of my favourite places in Glasgow for sure.

Great wee place. Fantastic soup, fresh foccacia and excellent service. Shout out to the young lady who ensured good order in line and sorted my daughter and I a table as we waited. We’ll return. Deserves to do really well.

Busy wee cafe, sells soups which are tasty, coffee and a range of alcohol. Vegan friendly if that's your thing.

Even though the naked theme they had “No Mask No Service” notice at the door. The owners here need to realise what discrimination is and have look at the Equality Act in relation to face coverings in relation to people with disabilities. Many people have hidden disabilities. Didn’t even get tasting the food as the staff member told me to leave as I rubbed out the No Service part of that notice on my way in. I felt this was disgusting. Owners, please have a look at the section of the Equality Act below. You are putting yourself at risk.

Finally popped in here for a few cocktails the other night and was super impressed, especially for the price. Will definitely be back!

The food was OK. Certainly not the best option locally. However I was greatly disappointed with the unfriendly, aloof service. It was almost as if I was expected to show gratitude for being allowed to dine there. I won't be going back. .

Visited this charming little place - cauliflower cheese soup was delish and the bagels were amazing! Lovely to have a glass of red to accompany late lunch. Real buzz and good vibe about the place - good value and extremely tasty food. Service quick and efficient.

Came for lunch today and got the cauliflower bagel with tomato soup, which were both delicious. Staff were friendly and the place is really cosy. It’s extremely busy though even quite early so hard to get a seat.

Returned here as first experience was great, although not a lot of options for soup or sandwiches! We found a table but where told to move as people at the front of the queue get priority despite tables being free, then was told we could sit there if we wanted to after just being told that we weren’t allowed to sit there and that it was allocated to someone else that was still waiting to make there order! They clearly don’t care about their customers! Won’t be back!

I wouldn’t recommend this place, cuz I didn’t get the normal attitude a restaurant should have. The staff is aloof and impolite. This is the first time to here and I was recommended from my friend many times of the bagels here. After ordering and paying for my food I was waiting for about 15 minutes, I saw some people who ordered after me has already started having meals in this period. And I observed the other table, the customer got their food for about 3-4 mins after they sit in there. I wonder why three people only need to wait for 4 mins, but I wait for 10 mins. A male staff passed me many times but no one asked me, treat me like the air, just like I am not exist. After I went to the counter, I asked one of the staff(btw this place has 4 staff today, I think it’s needless cuz you guys forgot a customer’s order) should I need to get my food by myself after ordering? She said, we will deliver it to your seat. I said I wait for 10 mins after ordering she asked me what did u order and asked to the female staff with the black shirt who in charge of order and payment in the meantime. The cashier woman(black shirt) seems like she forgot and opened the bagel machine exaggerated, suddenly a very surprised look on her face. I think you did it deliberately, you just forgot my order in all of customers. However, NO one apologized to me. After finishing my bagel, I ordered once again for takeaway. I waited outside and the staff sent the food to me for a while, a latte and a bagel in her two hands, no paper bags for takeaway. I think it’s so funny, I saw the previous customers all have the bag for takeaway. But why not me? Then I asked for it, and the staff take me one. The food in the naked soup tastes nice but the staff is so impolite, bad luck for me to meet the staff. It was so obvious that I was discriminated against by the staff, shame on the people with prejudice. This guys need to learn a customer service, learn how to treat with people in their life(at least not a RACIST one) Your terrible service attitude is totally at odds with the cute Snoopy logo in the restaurant!!! Ruin my day! Welcome to the naked soup if you don’t care the IGNORANCE of the staff.❤️

Had the sweet potato and lentil & sun dried tomatoes with roasted pepper. Both were fantastic especially with the addition of focaccia.

I go to Glasgow for this bagel and soup café/bar. That’s how good it is…

Waited half an hour in a queue. Must be good if there’s a queue at lunchtime on a Sunday right? Well, we wouldn’t know. After the wait we reached the counter finally to be advised there was no soup left. Naked soup with no soup. There was no queue after us as we saved the others the half hour wait. Best way to lose custom - don’t have things to sell. Excited to try it out as well and make it our new regular when going to the rugby. Won’t waste my time again just incase.

45 minutes of a wait starting at the bottom of the street, anticipating some amazing soup, only to be told once you get to the counter no soup left, this wasn’t late in the evening it was lunchtime!! Supply and demand it the term in business

I've had a lentils and sweet potato soup with focaccia and a cappuccino. Everything was delicious and the staff if very kind. It was my first time here and will be back again soon. 10/10!

Was guided here by family thankfully as it’s tucked off the main drag. It’s compact a beju to say the least but we got a table inside thankfully as it was hosing down outside. Chose soup and sandwich combo and was delighted with my choice. Soup was hearty and warm and sandwich was rammed with filling and warmed too. Staff were ok and price was typical for the west end but overall a good lunch which filled the belly so would return

I’ve been going here for almost 7 years now and it is the most wonderful cafe/bar. On a sunny day, it feels like you’re on the continent with tasty food and drink. Top stuff!!

We popped down for a quick lunch & got a bagel, a small soup & a coffee for about £10. Absolutely amazing value & great quality. It is small inside with some tables outside, thankfully we went when it had not long opened in the morning but it is usually super busy at weekends. We got the salmon & cream cheese bagel, the curried cauliflower bagel & sweet potato, lentil & coconut soup. We will be back for sure!

I want to start this review by saying this place serves really good soup and sandwiches. Since moving to the West End 6 months ago. we have had our lunch here on numerous occasions- but as noted in some of the reviews below service is slow and on occasions conspicuous by its absence. I recently took three friends in for a soup and a sandwich - as usual the place was busy; but the staff seemed more intent on chatting amongst themselves than serving customers. It’s great to see a team getting on so well, but when this is to the detriment of the customers and to service something is clearly wrong. You can have the best soup in the world, but if delivery and service aren’t of a similar standard then customers will walk. This is the fault of the management and a lack of interest in their actual customers experience whilst in their establishment. Just reading the reviews below highlights the Management failings and the fact this has not been remedied says it all! I am afraid to say when our food was finally delivered it was not what we had ordered - and this was apparently our fault and not of the staff. If you want repeat business - customer service is paramount. Remember there are plenty of high quality cafes in the neighbour who want our business and I am afraid we will be giving them a try in the near future.

Popped in for a cup of coffee. Was very nice coffee and pleasant to sit outside in the sun. Wide range of coffee styles and non dairy milks too. Definitely worth checking out and I'll be back for food at some point soon

Great place to have lunch after a visit to the Botanical Gardens. Very simple menu, choose your bagle and one of two soups of the day. The soups are very good, tasty and spicy, they go perfectly with the bagle. The place is very nice and the staff too.

I normally walk down / up Great Western Road as part of a commute to work. I pass a lot of good cafes - Naked Soup always catches my eye. Located on Kersland Street, my wife and I popped in there last Friday, while the wee man was asleep in the pram. I think we had just mistimed our lunch stop - the business had run out of ‘Soup’. Gutted. However, we did opt for alternatives - I ordered a ‘Ham, Cheese, Pickle and Mustard Panini’ and a ‘Latte’, my wife a ‘Cinnamon Bun’ and a ‘Lemonade’. All thoroughly enjoyed! No complaints at all. The building itself was nice - modern, unique and very warm inside. The dim lighting gave off a comfortable atmosphere. It was a disappointment to have to step out in the cold again. I imagine the place is packed at night - the staff were preparing for it as we were leaving. I think our meal was about £13.00 - not too bad for city prices! Always love trying new places but I would be tempted to pop back, just to see how good the ‘Soup’ really is. Recommended by us!

This is my favourite place to go in Glasgow. Whether it's a coffee in the morning, a soup and sarnie in the afternoon, or a perfectly pulled pint in the evening from the friendly staff, Naked Soup always makes me feel warm and welcomed. I visit on a weekly basis and the staff are great, friendly, and attentative. Lastly, I love the beer selection!

First time trying here and won’t be back. We were the first customers and ignored by two female members of staff. No hello or acknowledgment and no notice that it’s counter service (despite candle lit tables suggesting otherwise). We sat and waited 5 mins whilst being ignored and debated leaving. I went to counter to be told they’d get to me in a minute (too busy putting a tea light on a table when the place was empty). Food slapped down on a tray, bog-standard and overpriced. If it wasn’t bad enough we then had to endure the staff member table ‘serving’ her boyfriend and touching him every-time she passed him freebies. The arrogance and entitlement in this place is particularly apparent. The friendly persona exhibited on the Instagram account is deceiving and I’m embarrassed I spent money here.

Similar experience to reviewer below - walked in and completely ignored by two staff members behind the counter. Just stared at us then continued chatting to each other. Actually wish we just turned and left. They don't have anything to say that there's no table service so we were left to sit there while staff made a point of not coming over, even though the place was empty. Going up to order was a joyless experience with a counter server who seemed to be incompatible with the customer service industry. Food was decent enough but ridiculously overpriced. Overall it felt like quite a hostile and snooty. Won't be handing over money to this place again.

Delicious and such good variety. Always love that the soups are not your bog standard so you end up trying new things. Bagels are nice and stuffed. What a combo!

Hands down perfection. The concept is so simple but done flawlessly. The soup tastes amazing and I want to marry the focaccia. The staff are also lovey. I know where I’m going when I want warmth and comfort 💕

I seen this place on Instagram and was really excited about going. Me and partner decided to visit for some lunch, we were ignored by staff when we entered which is something that I picked up straight away. There was a member of staff standing right next to door and there wasn’t a hello or anything. Me and my partner sat for a good 5 minutes with still no member of staff coming over to us. For me customer service is a huge thing and if I am not getting greeted when entering and being ignored then why would I spend my money here? Wouldn’t really recommend and wouldn’t return myself.

You might struggle for a table, small place but lovely soup (good choices) and bagels/ciabattas, also serve beer.

Stopped by here for a few drinks after dinner and it's a great spot! Really chilled and great drinks! The espresso martini was great and they even have three taps for beer (including Overtone)

Best low key spot in the whole West End.

Have eaten here multiple times over the last year for lunch and this is probably my go to place for a cracking lunch. The bagels are extremely tasty. The soup is packed full of flavour and the focaccia is brilliant. The inside of the shop is quite small so I usually eat outside (weather permitting). Good value for money. Easy to get to from the Byres road.

I would recommend it for a quick filling healthy and inexpensive lunch. Great deal: a cup of soup and a fresh bagel with chicken £7. Quick and super friendly service.

This place is never open. Even though it says it’s open :( like it’s fine if you’re closed most of the time but at least update your social media to say it closed or don’t add opening hours so people know it might be closed

Great place to get a variety of soup options you wouldn’t get anywhere else. Menu is simple but accommodating to a variety of dietary requirements. Staff are friendly and service is very quick. Great if you’re on a lunch break and want something tasty but fast. They also do takeaway soup.

I came here for brunch after checking out at a nearby hotel. I really enjoyed my sweet potato and coconut soup, very tasty, as was the coffee. Would gladly visit again when on holiday, and in the West End. Well recommended

I was really disappointed with this place unfortunately. We were keen to have soup and a sandwich and as the only menu items they offer, this seemed like a perfect spot. Once I arrived, it was clear that there were no gluten free options of sandwiches, bagels, bread and cakes/pastries. Gluten free options of all of the above are widely available in all supermarkets and can be frozen and toasted to order so there is no waste. It’s such a shame that this isn’t even a consideration and the staff didn’t seem to think it was a problem at all, saying ‘you can have the soup though’. The bagels and focaccia on offer looked good but soup alone in a paper bowl just didn’t cut it. Such a shame - there is obviously nobody who works there that is gluten free as there seemed to be no kindness when telling me they had nothing available.

I am really disappointed in the service I received today, I was really excited to try your place out however the “no mask no service” policy is disgusting. My friends and I came into the shop and were asked if we had a mask I said no I am exempt which I have done during this whole pandemic and have never experienced this discrimination the staff member looked at us as if in disgust and asked what are yous all exempt and proceeded to say we can’t serve you if you have no mask or evidence of exemption and just pushed passed us out the shop. I have attached a photo below from the government website which clearly states you do not need to show any evidence of exempt from wearing a face mask. I have never felt so embarrassed and discriminated throughout this whole pandemic. I suggest your team reevaluate your policy, I understand you may be living your life in fear and have to protect your staff however acting this way towards customers is horrible.

Lovely atmosphere & vibe, simple delicious menu with plenty of vegan options. Very friendly staff who happily let me use the wifi to work. Would be wonderful to see less packaging (even if it is compostable) and a few more tea choices (just being picky!).
