Kelvingrove Cafe in Glasgow City

Stopped here for a soup & sourdough - was not disappointed. The food is excellent here and the service professional but friendly. I would say that it is a more darkly lit establishment with fully stocked bar, plenty of seating and a 'vintage'? atmosphere. Located close to Kelvingrove park on the corner of a Finnieston street. The outside is quirky yet inviting.

Drinks are very nice in the evening here. Lots to choose from and some are very imaginative. The atmosphere was a little dead as there was only a few people there, possibly as it was a Tuesday evening but the other places we visited were a lot busier. Nice log fire int he corner though which added a good ambiance and smell to the atmosphere. Staff were lovely and very quick with drink orders.

Dropped in for a coffee, excellent service and great vibe. Will be back.

This bar used to be one of my favorites in glasgow, but there is one staff member that literally ruins the whole place with how rude he is for absolutely no reason. He should not be working there.

Unfortunately the rudest service I have ever encountered. Last Thursday we been with a group of 16 people in the Kelvingrove cafe. The group itself consisted of participants from a conference and we had got to know each other over the course of the week. When it came to paying, the waiter rudely asked us for one person to pay the whole bill. We asked several times to pay individually, as we had all just met and didn't want anyone to pick up the bill. However, this was refused by the waiter and we were threatened that otherwise he would call the police. Apart from the fact that every guest can only be asked to pay for the drinks they have consumed, the threat that he would call the police was simply pathetic. At no point did we behave rudely and we are very disappointed that the evening had to end like this.

Truly amazing!! Wonderful staff, so friendly as they could not do enough for you. Fabulous atmosphere with lots of lovely places to sit. You must go.

Brioche french toast with figs and mascapone was the highlight of brunch. The waitress also gave my dog a free sausage!

Best chicken I’ve ever had in my life. New chefs special recipe with own hot sauce was exceptional. Chicken skin butter and side of bread was so good. Fantastic service. Fantastic vibe.

The food, ambience and most of the staff were nice, but one staff member soured the experience with his rudeness. Two of us asked while ordering if some of the non-vegan ingredients could be swapped out in the veggie breakfast, and he said yes, although he already seemed a bit annoyed by this request. Later on, we got charged separately for the substitutions and told that they "don't do substitutions". When we tried to clarify with the guy who took our order, he said "unfortunately, that's not how the conversation happened" in a confrontational tone of voice. The whole thing was weirdly intense, and some of us left feeling shaken by our encounter with him. The other staff were lovely. Overall, between the no-substitutions rule and the rude staff member, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Went on a miserable classic Scottish morning downpouring with rain outside but inside was lovely and warm and inviting. Had the English breakfast and it was absolutely lovely. Had a Bloody Mary on the side and it was perfectly seasoned. They also made an iced americano which was by request as it wasn’t on the menu. Lovely waitress who served us made sure we were attended and we were never hanging around for billl or food etc it was all very quick and fast.

Had an excellent brunch on a miserable morning . The menu gave me ideas to try at home and the food was excellent in terms of quality and quantity. Staff very attentive and helpful. Would definitely go there again.

Refused service because one new member of staff was a former flatmate who is engaged in a tedious dispute about refusing to pay my deposit back. Unprofessional of the place to allow random personal issues from staff to dictate who gets served - my date was forced to finish their drink they'd just ordered and immediately leave.

Great place for a lovely breakfast/brunch or lunch. A super wee menu and friendly service. Suits all.

Lovely lunch . Beef baguette, home fries,French onion soup and schnitzel all very good. Service excellent , great ambience and music. We shall return !

Nice and cosy, with good variety of drinks and friendly staff. On the cons, it can be quite dark when sitting at the back inside in good sunny days (although the latter are not that many in Glasgow anyway).

A good night ruined by one of the bar staff. From the moment we walked in, he was incredibly rude. Foul language, eye rolling, and acted like we were an inconvenience for even being there. The rest of the staff seemed pleasant, but unfortunately we had too many negative interactions with this one man that it ruined the night.

Never ate on this occasion but highly recommend the cocktails and service.

We stopped in here for a couple of cocktails, a mojito and raspberry one. They didn't look like they had much to them but the flavour was gorgeous, they really packed a punch! They're not cheap at £10 ish each but they were big and very nice cocktails, well worth the money. I also had the schnitzel, which was very tasty. We'd definitely recommend this place for food and drinks.

We had a swell brunch here on Sunday. They set us up at a booth in the window. I had the eggs Benedict and it was excellent. The coffee was good too. I really liked the Stones picture in the entry way!

Only went into this funky place for cocktails, which didn't disappoint. Laid back, old, almost parisian feel. Happy helpful staff who seemed to have lovely rapport with some regular customer's which was great to see. Definitely go back.

Best breakfast place in Scotland I've been lucky enough to visit. Unique menu, with several types of traditional and, for me, special breakfast food.

Terrible attempt to accomodate a GF customer, Offered NO GF OPTIONS and there was also no flexibility for changing up dishes to accommodate. Staff made a half-arsed guess at what might contain gluten, not only disappointing, but dangerous too. The food that was actually purchased for non-gf people was average at best as well.

George was excellent despite being new! Friendly and amazing service 11/10 would recommend!

Everytime I eat here its delicious, however last time I was in the cafe one of my eggs wasn't soft which made the meal a little bit dry. I mentioned this to the lovely waitress. Just to make sure the eggs were soft yoke. Not only a perfect Eggs Royale but the chef instructed the front of house; do not charge me and my guest for our meals. That was not my agenda and what incredible customer service. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you!!

Took ages (stood at bar for 15 minutes) to get served although there was plenty of staff and my cocktail was incredibly disappointing. It was quite obviously thrown together and shared between 2 pours. I watched it happen but couldn't be bothered mentioning it. They didn't seem like they would welcome the feedback. I've had much better cocktails (to drink and options to choose from) elsewhere in Glasgow.

Been twice now. Nice place to sit and have drinks, however a little disappointed with the staff on my 2nd visit. Was recommended a gin, which I didn't like. Was told it would be changed out but that never happened. Mentioned to another young staff and obviously didn't understand or bother to understand. Ended up buying another drink. Wouldn't stop me from going back. Possibly a better experience when quiet.

Really the best spot in Glasgow's west end for consistently good cocktails. Always amazing service, great curated drinks and great atmosphere. Alan who served us knows his stuff and is enthusiastic in all the best ways. My favourite west end bar.

Went here for brunch for the first time a couple of weeks ago, mainly due to the location and reading other reviews. It was fantastic! The menu and food quality was excellent and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The place has a lovely relaxing, cosy atmosphere with real fire and they serve the best coffee I've had in Glasgow. Looking forward to visiting again..

Visited on a Sunday evening and it was surprisingly busy. Helpful staff found a table inside for us quite quickly after we sat outside for a short time. The pizza I had was delicious, with a particularly good base. Nice vibe inside, too.

i was in glasgow for one night and came into this cafe with some friends. the staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was warm but also classy. would definitely come back again!

Poor selection of beers avaliable, and pedestrian service.

I tried to have brunch here, asked the front of house if they could cater for coeliac disease and was told no because there’s too high a risk of cross contamination. Don’t eat here if you need to be gluten free.

This is a really good place to drink, the atmosphere is marvelous, the staff is not only friendly but also patient, even if the language is not very fluent when I order and the staff is not impatient. It was a pity that I could not taste the Death of the Afternoon and BloodyMary this time because some of the base wine and tomato juice in the store were exhausted and not replenished. Finally, I ordered a Negroni, after all, I like drinks that make people easily drunk. The quality of this Negroni is quite high, and I was full of strength after drinking it. I'll definitely be coming back here more often.

Ordered the full breakfast and the Food was absolutely not worth the money. Bacon was fatty and not edible. Menu stated it would come with potato’s and had one small potato. Same with the peppers maybe one slice of pepper. The tomato was soggy. Toast was rock hard and cold and no butter offered. Not worth £13. Will not be back 🤮🤮🤮

Was in for brunch. Waitress was friendly enough. The food was ok but the portion size appalling for the price. We also waited about 40 minutes for some eggs and salmon. With brunch places everywhere in the West End I certainly wouldn’t recommend here or ever consider coming back.

Firstly would like to say Matthew was a fantastic server - very hospitable, very welcoming, fantastic drinks recommendations. Would have given 5 stars if it weren’t for Sam who then took over serving and was incredibly rude, abrupt, and very keen to usher us out despite having >45 minutes until they needed the table back. Sam made us feel thoroughly unwelcome and honestly upset. We only wish we could have had Matthew serving us all night - we’d have stayed far longer and spent far more !!!!

Food was ok, but not conceptional nor big portions. The onion soup is way better than the schnitzel. The service was very friendly. If you need a snack and are close by it will do the job.

This cafe is the bee's knees, such a beautiful establishment, I hope it remains open for a long, long time.

Overcrowded and overpriced - we were in for a couple of drinks pre dinner. Staff advised us after 2 drinks that they needed the table back for a reservation which they did not inform us when we sat down. In a pub bums reserve seats - I am old school! Toilets awful and next to kitchen - would not eat there. Won't be back.

Visiting from Galway,food was delicious,best black pudding I ever had,customer service was perfect,friendly,efficient just very nice and welcoming,will 100% come back and will recommend to friends travelling to Glasgow .

Ridiculously loud, decent cocktails

Loved it! I had the delicious French toast for brunch and black coffee. Both were amazing! Staff are very friendly and sweet as well! The whole vibe was rustic and overall cosy and welcoming. Definitely coming back for more!

I popped in here today (Good Friday) whilst I was out shopping. I ordered a cup of tea an a scone. The tea arrived but my scone arrived quite a long time after. I didn’t need to say anything, the staff gave me some fresh tea and then when I paid the bill they did not charge me for any tea. They were clearly busy as it is a bank holiday and the weather was great so minor things like this can happen, but the fact the staff wanted to make it right despite me not saying anything was much appreciated. Nice atmosphere in here and the staff were really pleasant.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast bite having just walked the dog. The server Chris was a helpful and polite young lad and a credit to the cafe. Food was served quickly with decent portion size and represented value for money. Will stop by again.

Used to be a cracking place to go, always jumping and full of atmosphere but sadly that's been muffled by slow table service and the inability to 'go up to the bar and get yourself a drink'. Up marketing yourself can mean both you know (apart from slow service). Food was nice (cane quicker than the drinks!), we had the stone baked pizza which was reasonably sized and tasty for the price. Would I go back? With the amount of decent competition out there I'd honestly say NO. Oh, and can you supply torches to read your menus? The lights dimmed and dimmed, oh & dimmed as the night progressed to the point where I'm sure it was darker then deep space.

Dirty glasses, tasteless hollandaise, Under cooked scrambled egg a mixed up order also Chicken broth was tasty the napkins were the best part of the experience

Had been here a few years ago so decided to pay another visit on a Saturday afternoon. Not as good as we remembered it. Probably we were in early afternoon rather than later in evening. Pints were some of more expensive on street with a pint of Coors Molson's Madri at £6. Sorry to see the Chieftain IPA off the menu since my last visit. Service efficient without being friendly. Very middle class clientele.

Went for brunch and did not particularly enjoy myself - strange service from waitress. Felt awkward. The bar itself & decor I liked. There was several fairly basic and common items not available. The food itself was alright. Poached eggs were slightly overdone and generally bland. Would I return? Not for brunch anyway. I believe there to be better options nearby.
