Kelvingrove Cafe in Glasgow City

We've started coming here regularly for brunch/lunch and I love it. The staff have a level of panache you don't see much in food service anymore, professional, communicative, sassy and strong. Each server and barperson has their own personality and strengths I love to learn more about every time. For menu item swap outs they're super helpful! The menu is basic but each meal is constructed with consideration to every ingredient. You can't help but share a bite with your friends to experience! We didn't have any cocktails but they also look top tier. Honestly this type of venue doesn't exist much anymore and I feel lucky to have stumbled across it. It's great to see such pride in service and in restaurant offerings.

Great spot, it’s big, but still feel intermit inside with great lighting and lots of different spaces and rooms. Nice lively atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Super range of cocktails, all very good and nicely presented. Expensive, but excellent quality.

We popped in one night after dinner for cocktails. We asked the bartender to create something based on a couple parameters. She did just that & created a very tasty drink. The vibe here is very relaxed. It is a good looking space. It's a solid choice for your cocktail circuit.

I didn't actually get to taste the food but I have to praise the bar for such an amazing experience. I popped in after a gig, on my own and even though the bar was mobbed on a Thursday evening, (all the staff but in particular a bartender with dark, curly hair and a mustache) made me feel so welcome, made sure my drinks were flowing even though he was completely mobbed, somehow kept track of who was next and made sure nobody was ignored or forgotten. Have never experienced a bar that was so mobbed yet so organised at the same time. I will definitely be back 😍

Had an AMAZING Bloody Mary on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

The "toasty" was a fried bread sandwich, and while it did taste really good, it was very heavy and greasy. Staff were polite and helpful.

Already one of my favourite cocktail bars in Glasgow, I came for brunch the other day and KC delivered again! The brunch menu is well crafted and the food is amazing! Excellent coffee and fantastic service. Added another layer of brilliance to an already great spot. Top of my list for recommendations of where to eat and drink in Glasgow

Every time we go the food is amazing. At times the service cancelled because slow but they let you take your time over your food.

We had a lovely Sunday brunch at Kelvin Grove Cafe in Finniestone. The cafe has a really cool vibe – it's dog-friendly and the decor is really funky. My full breakfast was delicious, and they had great vegan options too. I'd definitely go back again.

Muy decepcionado de nuestra experiencia de brunch en Kelvingrove Café. Como cliente habitual no estoy seguro de lo que pasó en nuestra última visita, pero el servicio era tan pobre. Esperó 20 minutos para ser visto, una hora para la comida que estaba mal y un plato absolutamente frío, ni siquiera un intento de ser calentado! Tuve que levantarme de la mesa un par de veces para conseguir un servidor. Ofrecí nuestra cuenta mientras todavía esperaba bebidas adicionales que dijimos solo para cancelar pero luego llegaron. Total desastre y con tantos otros lugares para tener el brunch cerca no volveremos.

This bar has a lovely atmosphere. The service is great and the drinks really nice. The cocktails are on the higher price end (circa £13) but nice to come in for one or two. Haven’t been for food.

Stopped here for a soup & sourdough - was not disappointed. The food is excellent here and the service professional but friendly. I would say that it is a more darkly lit establishment with fully stocked bar, plenty of seating and a 'vintage'? atmosphere. Located close to Kelvingrove park on the corner of a Finnieston street. The outside is quirky yet inviting.

Drinks are very nice in the evening here. Lots to choose from and some are very imaginative. The atmosphere was a little dead as there was only a few people there, possibly as it was a Tuesday evening but the other places we visited were a lot busier. Nice log fire int he corner though which added a good ambiance and smell to the atmosphere. Staff were lovely and very quick with drink orders.

Segunda visita aquí para el brunch, en nuestra primera visita honestamente no podría haber recomendado lo suficiente, pero estaba muy decepcionado esta vez. Traje algunos amigos para probar el menú del brunch que desafortunadamente cambió dos días antes pero no se actualizó en línea - la tostada francesa de pistacho mascarpone había sido excelente y el nuevo especial dulce parece ser algunos bollos comparativamente caros. En su lugar, obtuve una gran sopa, pero así que he preferido algunos gofres dulces para el brunch o panqueques o tostadas francesas o algo así. Seis de nosotros (de 26 a 86 años) disfrutamos de una variedad de platos sabrosos, incluyendo sopa de cebolla francesa y huevos preparados al estilo florentino, Benedicto, Royale y Morcilla (haggis). Todo estaba delicioso y muy bien presentado. El café era excelente, pero fueron los cócteles los que tomaron protagonismo. Mezclado por expertos y muy potente. Alec, nuestro anfitrión encantador, era amable y conocedor del menú y los productos. El ambiente era cálido, relajado e indulgente. Con la gran cantidad de competencia en Glasgow, el Kelvingrove Café realmente destaca debido al alto nivel de su menú y fantástico servicio. Si aún no lo es, este lugar debería ser una institución icónica de Glasgow, un hito local. Compruébelo usted mismo. Muy recomendable!

This bar used to be one of my favorites in glasgow, but there is one staff member that literally ruins the whole place with how rude he is for absolutely no reason. He should not be working there.

Unfortunately the rudest service I have ever encountered. Last Thursday we been with a group of 16 people in the Kelvingrove cafe. The group itself consisted of participants from a conference and we had got to know each other over the course of the week. When it came to paying, the waiter rudely asked us for one person to pay the whole bill. We asked several times to pay individually, as we had all just met and didn't want anyone to pick up the bill. However, this was refused by the waiter and we were threatened that otherwise he would call the police. Apart from the fact that every guest can only be asked to pay for the drinks they have consumed, the threat that he would call the police was simply pathetic. At no point did we behave rudely and we are very disappointed that the evening had to end like this.

Brioche french toast with figs and mascapone was the highlight of brunch. The waitress also gave my dog a free sausage!

Best chicken I’ve ever had in my life. New chefs special recipe with own hot sauce was exceptional. Chicken skin butter and side of bread was so good. Fantastic service. Fantastic vibe.

The food, ambience and most of the staff were nice, but one staff member soured the experience with his rudeness. Two of us asked while ordering if some of the non-vegan ingredients could be swapped out in the veggie breakfast, and he said yes, although he already seemed a bit annoyed by this request. Later on, we got charged separately for the substitutions and told that they "don't do substitutions". When we tried to clarify with the guy who took our order, he said "unfortunately, that's not how the conversation happened" in a confrontational tone of voice. The whole thing was weirdly intense, and some of us left feeling shaken by our encounter with him. The other staff were lovely. Overall, between the no-substitutions rule and the rude staff member, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Went on a miserable classic Scottish morning downpouring with rain outside but inside was lovely and warm and inviting. Had the English breakfast and it was absolutely lovely. Had a Bloody Mary on the side and it was perfectly seasoned. They also made an iced americano which was by request as it wasn’t on the menu. Lovely waitress who served us made sure we were attended and we were never hanging around for billl or food etc it was all very quick and fast.

Refused service because one new member of staff was a former flatmate who is engaged in a tedious dispute about refusing to pay my deposit back. Unprofessional of the place to allow random personal issues from staff to dictate who gets served - my date was forced to finish their drink they'd just ordered and immediately leave.

Had an excellent brunch on a miserable morning . The menu gave me ideas to try at home and the food was excellent in terms of quality and quantity. Staff very attentive and helpful. Would definitely go there again.

Nice and cosy, with good variety of drinks and friendly staff. On the cons, it can be quite dark when sitting at the back inside in good sunny days (although the latter are not that many in Glasgow anyway).

A good night ruined by one of the bar staff. From the moment we walked in, he was incredibly rude. Foul language, eye rolling, and acted like we were an inconvenience for even being there. The rest of the staff seemed pleasant, but unfortunately we had too many negative interactions with this one man that it ruined the night.

Absolutely delicious food, and a really nice atmosphere. Our waiter made it just a little bit special too.

Never ate on this occasion but highly recommend the cocktails and service.

We had a swell brunch here on Sunday. They set us up at a booth in the window. I had the eggs Benedict and it was excellent. The coffee was good too. I really liked the Stones picture in the entry way!

We stopped in here for a couple of cocktails, a mojito and raspberry one. They didn't look like they had much to them but the flavour was gorgeous, they really packed a punch! They're not cheap at £10 ish each but they were big and very nice cocktails, well worth the money. I also had the schnitzel, which was very tasty. We'd definitely recommend this place for food and drinks.

Only went into this funky place for cocktails, which didn't disappoint. Laid back, old, almost parisian feel. Happy helpful staff who seemed to have lovely rapport with some regular customer's which was great to see. Definitely go back.

Best breakfast place in Scotland I've been lucky enough to visit. Unique menu, with several types of traditional and, for me, special breakfast food.

Terrible attempt to accomodate a GF customer, Offered NO GF OPTIONS and there was also no flexibility for changing up dishes to accommodate. Staff made a half-arsed guess at what might contain gluten, not only disappointing, but dangerous too. The food that was actually purchased for non-gf people was average at best as well.

George was excellent despite being new! Friendly and amazing service 11/10 would recommend!

Everytime I eat here its delicious, however last time I was in the cafe one of my eggs wasn't soft which made the meal a little bit dry. I mentioned this to the lovely waitress. Just to make sure the eggs were soft yoke. Not only a perfect Eggs Royale but the chef instructed the front of house; do not charge me and my guest for our meals. That was not my agenda and what incredible customer service. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you!!

Took ages (stood at bar for 15 minutes) to get served although there was plenty of staff and my cocktail was incredibly disappointing. It was quite obviously thrown together and shared between 2 pours. I watched it happen but couldn't be bothered mentioning it. They didn't seem like they would welcome the feedback. I've had much better cocktails (to drink and options to choose from) elsewhere in Glasgow.

Been twice now. Nice place to sit and have drinks, however a little disappointed with the staff on my 2nd visit. Was recommended a gin, which I didn't like. Was told it would be changed out but that never happened. Mentioned to another young staff and obviously didn't understand or bother to understand. Ended up buying another drink. Wouldn't stop me from going back. Possibly a better experience when quiet.

Really the best spot in Glasgow's west end for consistently good cocktails. Always amazing service, great curated drinks and great atmosphere. Alan who served us knows his stuff and is enthusiastic in all the best ways. My favourite west end bar.

Went here for brunch for the first time a couple of weeks ago, mainly due to the location and reading other reviews. It was fantastic! The menu and food quality was excellent and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The place has a lovely relaxing, cosy atmosphere with real fire and they serve the best coffee I've had in Glasgow. Looking forward to visiting again..

Visited on a Sunday evening and it was surprisingly busy. Helpful staff found a table inside for us quite quickly after we sat outside for a short time. The pizza I had was delicious, with a particularly good base. Nice vibe inside, too.

i was in glasgow for one night and came into this cafe with some friends. the staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was warm but also classy. would definitely come back again!

Poor selection of beers avaliable, and pedestrian service.

I tried to have brunch here, asked the front of house if they could cater for coeliac disease and was told no because there’s too high a risk of cross contamination. Don’t eat here if you need to be gluten free.

This is a really good place to drink, the atmosphere is marvelous, the staff is not only friendly but also patient, even if the language is not very fluent when I order and the staff is not impatient. It was a pity that I could not taste the Death of the Afternoon and BloodyMary this time because some of the base wine and tomato juice in the store were exhausted and not replenished. Finally, I ordered a Negroni, after all, I like drinks that make people easily drunk. The quality of this Negroni is quite high, and I was full of strength after drinking it. I'll definitely be coming back here more often.

Ordered the full breakfast and the Food was absolutely not worth the money. Bacon was fatty and not edible. Menu stated it would come with potato’s and had one small potato. Same with the peppers maybe one slice of pepper. The tomato was soggy. Toast was rock hard and cold and no butter offered. Not worth £13. Will not be back 🤮🤮🤮

Was in for brunch. Waitress was friendly enough. The food was ok but the portion size appalling for the price. We also waited about 40 minutes for some eggs and salmon. With brunch places everywhere in the West End I certainly wouldn’t recommend here or ever consider coming back.
