Caffe Nero in Glasgow City

After ordering a ‘large white Americano’ I was offered a small one, then had to repeat the order three more times, I was then asked if I wanted milk in it 😳 and the coffee was the worst I’ve had in a cafe nero

The services is not good at all and people not nice in communicating

The cafe has branches spread across Scotland It has breakfast options of sandwiches and pastries And the coffee is good

Very good breakfast and very friendly staff, I forgot my raincoat at the premises, the next day I went and the girl with short hair and glasses kept it for me

Went in for a pistachio frappe this morning - staff very friendly and super helpful and frappe was absolutely delicious! ☺️ Thanks to the staff members on shift this morning for brightening up an otherwise dull and rainy day ☺️

Has been my go to for a coffee before work every morning for the past 6 months, but recently the coffee hasn’t been very good, the staff seem unhappy, maybe a change in managers or new manager(I don’t know) but I won’t back.

Early morning coffee after my husband birthday night out the previous night. We wanted a delicious coffee and found Caffe Nero. Young lady with blonde hair up in two buns, tattoos and piercings, served us. Two white Americanos. When I went to collect them I immediate saw one of the ciders had a blonde hair in it. I called the lady over and pointed it out. She pulled the hair out the coffee, wiped her hands on her apron and walked away. THE HAIR WAS IN THE COFFEE!!!!!! When I asked for a replacement she was not pleased but did make a fresh one. How very disappointing!!!!! Next time I will walk a bit further and find an alternative coffee shop. Note: the comment about tattoos and piercings was for identification purposes of the staff member. I am covered in tattoos and piercings so no judgement intended.

genuinely awful place. give you coffee scalding hot like it’s a massive coffee chain do they not know coffee shouldn’t be boiled. got it remade and it was disgusting still, bitter yet tasteless? and staff not happy to remake.

Nice to sit and relax if you can get a window seat.

Poor show this cafe Nero . Two girls serving seem so uninterested actually they ended up sitting yapping at a table rather than serve leaving one girl to serve . Who ever cleans this place needs sacked . Rug as you come in is filthy cover in cobwebs could you believe. Worse cafe Nero I have ever been in and I have been in a few . The staff need training for sure . The place need scrubbing.

The two "baristas" serving on Thursday 28th Dec at 8.45 a.m. need retrained immediately. Rude doesn't cover it. Tables dirty. Fridge not stocked. Milk delivery lying out on the floor while staff stood around on phones. My hot drink was freezing.

Staff were rude, distracted and proceeded to spell out words when they couldn't hear me. To further embarass me. They were too busy talking about their gym session that they rolled their eyes when they couldnt hear me try to understand what they were asking as it was busy and loud. As someone who is autistic, i was particularly insulted when i asked for decaf and they gave me full coffee. They didnt care to check. Wont be back.

I like Cafe Nero's coffee, and I like they take their time to make a proper coffee, but since the pandemic I noticed that they are permanently under staff. I go to take my coffee every week at lunch time and there is always a queu, I have limited time and I can't wait 15m o more for my coffee between the queue and the making of the coffe. It's not acceptable and I won't support a company that exploits their employees and wastes my precious time.

Declan just cares about the customers! I arrived super early in the morning and the Almond croissants were in the oven still so I got something else. He remembered and as soon as they were ready after I finished he gave me one for the road! This is just going the extra mile and a what an awesome guy!

me and my flatmate came in for lunch and we’re both students. I had applied for the student discount via the app but it wasn’t showing so I had asked the baristas at the counter for help. Me and my flatmate made a small joke along the lines of “sorry if we’re being an inconvenience” and the barista immediately went “you are.” This was proceeded with the person serving us rolling her eyes at us whist we tried to get the student discount to work and doing the same again when greeting another customer. We felt totally unwelcome from the jump and the attitudes that we were subjected to just because we didn’t know how their system worked was really out of order. The only saving Grace was the things that we had ordered and even then it wasn’t that great. Though the person that had been rude to us was a barista in training (which I doesn’t make it any better but gives context.) there was a fully trained barista working with her as well and she gave us no helpful information whatsoever. We were treated like nuances by people that even forgot a part of our order and then had the cheek to see if we had payed for it though all parties were present when we ordered.

Never had an issue with the staffs and I’ve been going to this Caffè Nero for years. The black girl who was working today at around 5:56pm was very rude, and clearly did not want to be there. Her fellow colleague was also the same. I understand that it was almost closing time, but doesn’t justify the rudeness I encountered today. Management, please speak to your staffs (who were working until close today) and train them with basic customer service.

I always order for a click and collect for when I get off the train to save waiting. They either don't realise there is a click and collect as the ipad isn't turned on or they don't have the necessary ingredients and extras that I add to my order. Really poor. Need to ensure that if certain items aren't in stock that the app us updated to reflect this. If I pay for marshmallows I expect to get them. Too much hassle asking for 25p refund. I only realise I don't have them when I'm sitting at my desk in work. Makes for long day with no marshmallows. Come on guys lets do better.

The girl with black hair was not friendly and had an attitude, consistently mumbling her way trough simple conversation. When asked to repeat herself she rolled her eyes. I’m not scottish, however my partner is and neither of us were able to decipher the alien language that she was speaking.

Amazingly, I believe this was my first experience of a Caffè Nero. This one in particular, was located on the corner between Hope and Waterloo Street. As ‘Coffees’ go, it was good (strong taste; creamy) but by no means the best i’ve had, especially in comparison to other shops of the same high street calibre. I ordered a ‘Latte’ and a slice of ‘Belgian Chocolate Cake’. The latter I enjoyed but it was just a tad on the dry side. Overall, i’d say an average to good visit - my mug and plate were empty at the end, but I wasn’t blown away. Reasonable value for money and a nice seating arrangement along the length of the full size windows.

The 2 stars are justified by the lack of customer service. The staff behind the bar clearly don't want to be here. I would urge the manager to coach their staff on connecting with the customer. I visited on the 6th of December at 09:00 so you can have a look at your staffing schedule for that day. There was no smiles present and it really did sour my overall experience visiting the store. The roll and bacon was average at best and the latte had to much foam it was borderline cappuccino. Sadly not a great visit.

Staff were lovely, made a lovely Hot Chocolate. Awesome looking Cafe & great atmosphere. First Caffè Nero Experience. The only downfall is the place doesn't get tidied much as a veteran bar worker I can say that they do have time it's just the Culture in that store not too.

I don't know what the problem was with one of the staff. All I did was asked for a coffee, a cake and a bag politely; and shockingly all that I had gotten back was rude attitude from her. Really don't understand why anyone would go out their way to treat people like that.

You get what you pay for when it comes to coffee shops - this is one of my favourite Nero's. Comfortable, handy and extremely clean and efficient. I used to be a 100% Costa dude, but - (apart from the Central Station 'unit') since Covid I have felt as welcome and valued as a f*rt at a wedding. 'Times they are a changing' sang Uncle Bob Dylan and I doubt I'll ever be able to reclaim my Costa comfort zone - hell I even went to Tim Hortons the other evening because Costa had closed at 6pm. Nero's is my go-to chill out place, so go on grab a Metro, a coffee and a biscotti and enjoy doing absolutely nothing. Update - still the same Nero's and thats why it is so popular

Girl behind counter looked so angry and disappointed that I asked for a coffee and I felt so un welcoming.

I use this as my quick coffee stop for work. It's my absolute go to every time I'm in the city centre!

We visited here yesterday at 1’ish - we have visited previously several times. Aware it’s peak time and staff doing their best but struggling to provide good service - I can live with that but because of that proper cleaning of tables etc not being done and place was ‘grubby’ which is a concern ! What was worse though was the toilet it was pretty disgusting- definitely not being checked or cleaned at all, bad lighting, dodgy lock, an extremely unpleasant experience!

Always busy, but everytime I go I just manage to get a seat. Good staff, always seem super happy. I like that.

Barista (Italian lady) was incredibly rude and condescending to me when I only wanted a frappe at twenty to close. Usually enjoy the atmosphere here but won't be going back.

Not really a fan, more expensive than some other places without any better quality. Lacks any atmosphere too, maybe due to location.

All I will say is I just love Cafe Neros. Along with Costas my two favourite coffeehouse brands for consistently good coffee.

I asked for extra hot chocolate drink, it was warmish. Three quarters cup of chocolate drink with lots of bubbles on top.

Best coffee in town IMO relaxed atmosphere chill out seating

It was just ok. Had usual hand sanitizer and track/trace code to check in but in my view tables not far enough apart (1 metre) but other folk still able to spread out so invading your space... Staff didn't seem very happy to be there so service was alright. Because of the layout of the cafe the staff can't see if any tables are available and so let customers know that it's take away only. Sanitizing the tables wasn't always done between customers either. Won't be back.

The barista burnt my milk. It was too hot. 🙈 Otherwise coffee was good.

I really don’t make these types of reviews however I was really upset by how I was spoken to and treated yesterday that I really needed to write this. I was stopping by to kill some time early in the morning and to have a coffee with my work team before we had something planned. I was waiting in line ready to be served to then be told we couldn’t pay by cash and it had to be card - I was a bit embarrassed as I only had cash on me and to my dismay I had to put food back, scanned myself in and then proceeded to head over to the table where most of the others were sitting. As I was trying to do this discretely because of my embarrassment, the woman behind the bar (seemed to be the manager) who I couldn’t hear very well seemed like she was trying to stop me, so I said sorry I’m not getting anything, I’m going to sit with the rest of the table. She continued to bark at me saying I needed to scan myself in even though I had and I did mention however she never listened. She got extremely heated and was very rude and aggressive shouting you need to scan. To diffuse I just went back over to pretend to scan again so that she would stop shouting at me. It was so bad that I was asked if I was okay by others and it was commented that she was very rude and not nice at all. I understand working with the general public can be very stressful and tiring as I do it myself. However, I really find that unacceptable. I really don’t expect to be spoken to like that. I eventually got over to the table where the others were sitting and I felt about 2 ft tall and was trying to hold back my tears. I’m really disappointed by this and would really suggest that more customer service training is provided. I think it’s important for businesses to make you feel welcome and that is something I definitely did not feel.

I found myself wondering 'what can you say about Caffe Nero that has not already been posted by other Goops'? First each Nero is the same yest unique - each has its own ambience, staff, layout and atmosphere and also regular customers. The coffee is - unlike many pf its rivsls - earthy but rich, nutty full in the mouth and satisfying, seating and layout is relaxed comfortable and lends itself to the traveller, newspaper reader, specky laptop pretend exec/ wannabee author/desperate dating site aficionado etc. The corner site and huge glass windows allow you - if you should wish to - to sit back and gaze out at the passing spectrum of humanity in all its shades. So visit - eat, drink, put your feet up and enjoy.

Worst location for Caffe Nero. Super rude staff and the lattes tasted burnt. Wouldn't recommend. There are better locations further in to City Center.

Few steps away from the central station, my favorite place for a nice coffee before a journey. Staff very friendly.

Very comfortable and friendly service too. Short distance to Central Station so good for a coffee before the train. Caramel shortbread is amazing.

A bit pricey for standard food. 2 coke zeros and 2 sandwiches was £12. Staff were busy, so service was really slow.

Lovely coffee, I’ve tried everything from a cappuccino to a double espresso. Lovely staff and when I say lovely I mean so, so kind, always a huge selection of cakes, pastries and savoury food even some vegan food. Always clean comfy seats.

Quick service, clean bathroom, handy for the station, outside seating. Would be five stars but the pavement around the tables isn't swept too well

My morning glory, I love caffe nero coffee out of all the coffee shops this is the best one. The staff are so nice and friendly and always know what I want as I haven't really changed my order in the lat 2 years. Sorry lol.

Staff welcoming and get to know their regulars and their individual orders - even before you ask. Always nice to know that your custom is valued and recognised. Great reward scheme for free coffees via the app and bring your own cup. Food always great as far as I am concerned.

These places need to work on hot chocolatr. Note the description.. HOT. If you add milk, it gets cold really quickly 😣

Great location but cutlery was covered in food and piled far too much onto tray the bacon on one of the sandwiches was mainly fat and the hot chocolate was running over but good..so in summary good coffee but wouldn't go back

One of the nicer Cafe Nero coffee shopscin Glasgow. Handy for the train station, more room and friendly staff. Visited on Sunday but like many businesses they staffing levels are down meaning only the disabled toilet in use and they ran out of mugs. Not a deal breaker but something to be aware of.
