Excellent cafe. Food always great. Lovely staff and love the look. Roots, Fruits and Shoots getting right as they always do in there other neighbouring stores.

Dianne and I popped in for a coffee. The server showed us to our table with charm and confidence. She helped us with choices in the menu. Promptly served excellent coffee and outstanding home baked cakes. First class, we loved it. See you soon.

Shinny wild place with friendly waiters .. 2 floors i have visited it many times almost all the time busy but well organized.. what we have ordered came quickly.. i recommend matcha latte even with no sugar its very delicious .. bakery side has lot of options try apple pie and the cookies also

Went in for brucnh ordered French toast. Safe to say the worst french toast i have had. First of all they only give you one slice of bread and for the price you would expect atleast 2 slices! £8 for just one slice is a joke. Secondly i opted for the fuit topping and it was served with fruit compote on top of the bread ontop of youghart art that was also on the slice of bread. The slice of bread was drenched and soggy horrible texture and it was far tooo sweet. Waste of money and time. 👎👎👎👎👎

Fantastic waitstaff! Vegan breakfast was great! Loved the sausages and beans and sourdough. The huevos rancheros were good too.

Food was great but very very poor service. I had a buggy with my 6 months old daughter and was told to go upstairs. There was a lot of space downstairs but one of the staff told me that buggy cannot stay downstairs, which is hard to understand. After asking nicely one more time, I gave up and went upstairs with my daughter and buggy but none of the staff were willing to help. One of them who took my order was very unfriendly too. After I paid and went downstairs, there was a couple with a buggy and baby. Why could we not sit downstairs??? I don’t know why I just didn’t leave, but I’ll never go back again. They’re not child-friendly.

It s a real gem in the West End. Food is excellent, friendly staff,great location.

Came here at 2pm on a Sunday with two other people. We were quick to be seated and the space is very nice. The baked goods and variety of drinks were also good. The service, however, was poor. Not all the staff were bad but one waitress in particular was unprofessional. We asked her what cakes were available and she said that there were 'a lot' and to go and look ourselves, which was rude and unhelpful. One party of our table ordered soup and it took a very long time to come, so it's unclear if the waitress forgot to put the order through. Based off this experience, I wouldn't visit again, because of the slow and poor service.

Good quality, very tasty food at a really decent price. Staple brunch food using great ingredients and all beautifully cooked and presented. Always like when tap water is brought automatically. Friendly attentive staff and warm inviting space, in the heart of the vibrant west end. Dog friendly too.

In diesem Café kann man nicht nur sehr gut frühstücken, sondern auch einfach eine leckere heiße Schokolade oder einen guten Kaffee trinken und etwas die Seele baumeln lassen. Außerdem ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis durchaus gut und der Service mehr als perfekt! Für jeden der im West End unterwegs ist, kann ich dieses Kaffee nur wärmstens empfehlen!!!

Roots Fruits have added a wonderful corner cafe (formerly a bank with retained art deco features). Great atmosphere, excellent service - coffee, scrambled eggs on toast and fresh croissant (good portions) an excellent start to the week end. Dog friendly too!

Huevos rancheros - bland. I feel that a restaurant that has the audacity to omit salt and pepper from the tables should make perfect food. Well, the huevos rancheros were very disappointing. Some black beans…not refried, just plain, unseasoned beans. The salsa was a bit better but still under-seasoned and lacking on chilli and flavour. Scrambled eggs were ok, but tortillas tasted of charcoal/burnt. I was expecting lots of tasty chilli flavours. I asked for Tabasco but it didn’t really improve it.

At last made it to the new cafe. Had the breakfast and it was yummy.

We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The food was excellent and the service was great despite it being very busy. A lovely atmosphere.

I don't live in the West End so don't get over there too often. Met a friend for a brunch in the cafe - it was very good both food and coffee with a very pleasant server.

Gluten free options available. Great atmosphere with a friendly and efficient service. It’s my new favourite for a full cooked breakfast. The beans are full of flavour and being a beans man make the dish 😎. The menu is full and varied to cover your brunch choices. My wife had the French toast which she thought was delicious.

Brunch menu leaves me yearning for variety. Every dish seems to be a variation on similar ingredients.

Lovely spacious cafe that serves a range of food and lovely coffee. Staff are friendly and attentive, and wifi makes it good for working. A good range of food, with GF, vegetarian and vegan options. Food is nice but struggles to match neighbouring cafés. What keeps me coming back is more the spaciousness and the lovely mezzanine. Coffee and cakes great too. If the food was up there with nearby cafés, this would easily become my no. 1 favourite!

Tried the new cafe for the first time, it’s so spacious and light. Coffee is 10/10 and the staff are friendly as always. Food lovely and reasonably priced, will def be back x

I am partialy deaf and often find it diffcult understanding glasgow accents. the young glaswegian lady who served me didn't make any effort to speak more clearly or slowly when i asked what she said and seemed anoyed. this made me sad. english is not my language. she got my coffee order completely wrong and it tasted so bad and was lukewarm. staff also play their music loudly. AVOID! will never return!

Samosas to be avoided, They're dry, tasteless and with a case like cardboard paper. The young woman who served me overcharged me as well. £4.97 rather than £3.27. Almost a 45% overcharge. Insult to injury.

We only managed to eat in once, but the cooked vegan breakfast was substantial and very tasty. Really good value.

Working in Finnieston, you are spoiled for choice for lunch because there are more eateries and fast food places than you can shake a stick at. However, when you want something a bit different, wholesome and with good vegetarian options then you can't beat Roots and Fruits. A bonus is you can pick up some nutritious groceries too.

Love the restaurant and normally have a satisfactory shop at the fruit and veg. However today I was met by a cashier that had to have been one of the rudest people I’ve encountered in a truly long time. When asked if the store has Daikon, instead of asking what it is she just looked at me blankly, I then went on to explain that it’s an Asian radish, she cut me off saying “We don’t do Asian”. I went on to place my groceries on the checkout counter at the last minute adding some dates. She gave me a total, I asked if that included the dates, clearly annoyed she said I didn’t give those to her at the beginning. She gave the new total, I then asked if I could have a bag, which she chucked in front of me in huff. I paid by card, when I enquired if I could have my receipt she retorted with “Maybe” then reluctantly printed me one out the card machine. I am appalled by this interaction. It has turned me from an eager customer that came into the shop at every opportunity as the produce is second to none to one that will be unlikely to return. All due to a staffs taciturn and unfortunate decorum. Disappointing.

Nice little brunch place, recommend the poached eggs and the coffee. Small seating area so not ideal for groups. Excellent shop selection if you’re looking for vegan/ gluten free/ health food items.

I generally like popping in here for aquick bite to eat here but the last two times I visited I’ve been increasingly aware of it being a bit grubby. grubby floor with food strewn about behind the counter, tables being left with plates. When tables are cleared they are left with food, spilled liquid and grime on them for the next customers to sit at. The staff meanwhile were not busy. How can sergers just leave that? Even when I asked for them to be cleaned the server couldn’t find the spray leaving me wondering how long it had been since they last used it. Then I was served a veggie pie that tasted delicious but was cold in the middle. I know it’s a casual cafe but this is really off putting and a make you worry about your food. shame as the quality of the food is good. Can you sort yourselves out please?

Friendly staff, good freshly prepared food. Need to ask for menu as there's more than is displayed on the boards. Can be a little cramped if busy, as you will be sitting in the midst of the shop.

Nos detuvimos aquí para tomar un café y comer algo de camino al centro de Glasgow. Nos sentamos afuera y tomamos café y pastel de zanahoria. El pastel era fantástico, grandes rebanadas y muy sabroso, nos mantuvo hasta la cena. El café fue hecho claramente por baristas experimentados, todos tenían una buena temperatura, un hermoso café con leche y la mezcla de café tenía un gran sabor. La tienda vende alimentos salados recién hechos, productos de panadería y alimentos saludables junto con productos orgánicos locales. Realmente muy bien distribuido y la tienda olía increíble.

I'd travel miles for a decent homemade scone, and my standards are pretty high. I was so glad we went in here after we spotted the baking. We had coffee and scones sitting outside at one of the tables and oh boy they were delicious, freshly baked, slightly crisp on the outside, super soft inside and packed with flavour. They were served with generous amounts of proper butter and really good quality raspberry jam. The coffee was perfect, hot and strong. The service from ordering to everything arriving at our table was excellent, friendly and helpful. We're hoping to find the time to go back to sample more of the amazing looking display of food, especially the cakes.

Easy to like this café/ store. A lot of choices when it comes to both fresh food and other groceries. Even found some amazing gingerbread from Sweden here. Definitely worth a visit!

Went for lunch here today. Lovely food and staff lovely; and then a shoulder length haired older guy appeared. His hair not tied back for a start he then proceeded to take a potato from the display with his fingers , not satisfied with that, he then removed the tongs from the salad bowl and launched in with his HAND and grabbed some out for what appeared to be his lunch ‍♀️. Also lots of people coming in and handling the loaves of bread for sale only to decide they didn’t want it so put it back! Why?

Nice for a relaxed lunch or take away. When we visited there was many choices on the menu - hard to choose. At the same time you get Inspiration to buy loads of organic food and other goods in a love room.

Everything about this place is simply amazing. Been here so often. The salad bowl is HUGE and delicious, good breakfast, good lunch, never too busy, amazing staff, nice terrace, sometimes a free coffee voucher. Couldn't wish for anything more.

The food here is very good, with lots of choice in vegan and gluten free menus, however the service is off hand and unfriendly which is why on several visits I have yet to leave a tip!

We enjoy buying fruits, vegetables, nuts and other products in Roots! Very good quality! The homemade pastries are also delicious (especially the vegan chocolate and raspberry cake)!

Had poached egg and bacon on avocado sour dough toast. Some tomatoes and coriander on side. Also sour cream with herbs tabasco and cress on top. Delicious!!!!!

Really good organic food to eat and an excellent selection of deli products from teas to bread to take away. I have visited Roots three times now and never been disappointed.

The staff here were rude, unwelcoming and frankly arrogant, with absolutely no customer service skills as far as I am concerned. Upon arriving I was greeted with a blank stare until I spoke, and the atmosphere during my whole visit was unwelcoming with not even a thanks or goodbye when I left. I have worked in the hospitality and restaurant industry - it is not difficult to be polite to a customer and provide them with good service, and I suggest the manager here discusses this with their staff. Safe to say I won't be returning.

Wonderful suite of shops side by side. I went looking for milk thistle and there were so many great health foods and fine foods. There was a cafe and next door a beautiful flower shop. What a great idea.

We love Glasgow but not often in the West end and sooo glad we decided to wander around and were recommended to try Roots, Fruits & Flowers. We had a look around, took our time to decide what to have and really enjoyed the purple sweet potato and coconut soup and vegan wrap, tea & coffee. The chocolate vegan cookie was nice too (although too sweet for me). This place is definitely on our radar now and will look forward to our next visit and lunch there.

Great fresh food and excellent coffee! I tried the fish cake and it was lovely. My husband ordered a Panini which was delicious, unlike any other run of the mill panini we have tasted before. Service was friendly and efficient, will definitely return.

Stopped off here a few times last week during a short break in Glasgow and really enjoyed sitting outside and watching people go by in this thriving part of the West End.The coffee was decent enough and as they serve double shots, you get more for your money and I found that my Americano was much larger than I was getting in some of the other nearby establishments.Over the course of our different visits, we sampled chocolate cherry brownies, a gluten free, extremely moist almond, raspberry and apricot tart, a chocolate and pistachio tart - all of which were perfectly fine but not on par with Cottonrake down the road.Roots, Fruits and Flowers is not somewhere that I would go to based on the food and drink offerings alone. For me, I just love sitting outside and watching people call in and buy their delicious deli groceries, fresh veg and flowers and just observing the weird and wonderful people of Glasgow's West End dashing by.My partner had been here before to enjoy some of the savoury dishes they serve and on our final visit, we actually bought some of the lamb meatballs to take away and have for our supper that evening. They were absolutely beautiful. They also have some really amazing looking Spanish tortillas/Mediterranean dishes and some outstanding looking curries. I think this is where the strength lies in their food offering more so than the cakes.Seating is limited inside, and sometimes outside too - it's really busy and will only get busier in the summer as it's a really great spot.We did manage to get a window seat indoors on our last visit and this was just as pleasurable as sitting outside. There are probably a lot of disappointed people that walk on by because they can't get a seat so it would be good if they could increase their capacity inside.Service-wise, it varies a bit. I've been served by the blonde, English girl that one of the other reviewers mentioned and agree that she could smile a bit more. I detected an ever so slightly patronising tone in her voice as I was paying my bill but perhaps it was just her accent. I will be back so I'll give her another chance, perhaps she was just having a bad day.The girl who served us on our last day with brown hair in a ponytail (couldn't place her accent but maybe Eastern European?) in contrast was an absolute joy. Very friendly and polite when bringing over our food and drinks and she gets bonus points for giving us such a huge portion of meatballs to take away. She did a super job of wrapping them up so that they didn't leak, too.

Visited here for a quick stop in Glasgow, was very much looking forward to it but the service let this place down massively. A girl with short blonde hair was very quick to serve us, no airs no graces, not courteous at all. We asked if it was alright to sit down and she just told us to find a seat quite dismissively. When we sat down (there were hardly any places to sit) we were told to move as we were in the way. Finally, when we left I said thank you and bye to the same blonde girl, who then just looked at me and disregarded me. Absolutely appalling experience, would never return.

We called in for a wee coffee and cake whilst out for a Sunday stroll and the coffee is amazing. The best I've tasted for a long time. The cake was pretty amazing also. Lots of fab food and a delicious deli.Highly recommended.

It can be hard to find vegan food and vegan food that is edible. Fear not Root, Fruits and Flowers have what the vegan is in need of. Freshly made, ethical, attractively presented food. There are a few seats in the shop. The cafe is in the shop, where you can buy everything organic including meat.

My boyfriend and I love going here simply because the food is fantastic, fresh and usually ethical (the deli sells a wide range of organic/sustainably sourced stuff, including vegan makeup). It's a little pricier than the usual cafe but absolutely worth it. Unfortunately there are two waitresses who probably would scowl at even a smiling baby - I smiled and said bye once and one of them gazed blankly at me with a slightly downturned mouth. But because the quality of the food is so amazing, I'd ignore them and enjoy the taste of incredible food!

We stopped for a much-needed sit down here and really enjoyed our cuppa and cakes as well as browsing in the deli.

My vegan daughter researched his retailer before we embarked on our Scotland vacation. It was even sweeter that we did not need to seek out this store. We stumbled upon it on our wet travels to the Kelvingrove museum. The display of deli and bakery items were enticing. I'm not quite sure if I would shop for groceries here regularly. Although there are some vegan options, it's not on the economical side. I also noted that some items were located at regular retailers for a more reasonable price.

Yummy deli foods, tremendous selection of interesting breads, ethically sourced produce and the most delicious fruit and veg. What's not to like about this place? Every time I'm home coming here makes me pine for Glasgow.

I love doing my groceries there, it's one of the best places in the West End of Glasgow to get organic wholefoods, (vegan/ vegetarian) and stuff. Their little eatery is good as well, always busy and food tastes delicious.

I love it. We had coffee and cake twice. We were looking for gluten free options that weren't horribly sweet and both had a very nice slice without the sugar rush and dip. Als bought veg, amazing choice and superb quality.

I've been there couple of times always leave satisfied with a full shopping bag. It's definitely best deli shop in Glasgow. If you love cooking like I or if your diet is different than just a junk food, you can buy there all the fancy products you need. I wish I could live a bit closer to this place. I also recommend breakfast and lunch menu too.

I visited the flower shop and the fruit shop in order to pick up items for a wedding. The female assistant in the flower shop was very short - I was enquiringly about the suitability of their roses for use on a wedding cake. She said that the flowers weren't organic or edible but 'they'd be fine' I bought about 8 roses costing £28. In my opinion they were disappointing and not particularly fresh looking but I felt quite harassed so just bought them and left. I understand the assistant is there as a florist and not interested in my plans for them but a little feigned interest would have helped. The other lady who was on the phone through the back sounded nice though. Not particularly impressed with the flowers, the customer service or the price so wouldn't recommend and would go elsewhere next time. The selection of berries I got from the fruit shop were nice and fresh though.

I use this place a lot but mostly to take away rather than sit in. On this occasion I did eat in and have to admit to being disappointed. The food is always good, not cheap, but decent value. Staff are generally friendly but there is one lady who could really do with some training. Service is so off-hand it makes you wonder what you've done to cause offence. Lack of greeting, food plonked down without a word etc. I'll keep using and being friendly, hope you are too!

Best selection of organic and wholefoods in the west end and the staff are helpful and friendly. You can also sit down and have a coffee or selection of fine teas and patisseries .

Roots and Fruits is great!This is a shop (or 3 shops) which is also a cafe. One sells flowers (which are quite expensive) one fruit and veg and the other is the cafe which sells whole meals, bread, cakes etc. They specialise in fresh fruit and vegetables but it is also a good source for vegan and vegetarian ingredients and herbs & spices. Good for coffees and fresh bread. I love the Spanish Tortilla!

Had a lovely lunch with friends, yummy, fresh, tasty,, wholesome food. Friendly helpful staff, and prices very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Will definitely be back anytime I'm in the West end. Only small criticism was lack of seating, but it is a deli store as well as an eatery and we were lucky to get a table pretty quickly.

Got a fruit basket with chocolate delivered to my friend in Gartnavel Hospital since flowers are now banned in hospitals.Ordered at 9am and arrived by 1.30pm. That's a quick turn around. It also looks brill and my friend is delighted with it.Highly recommend!

We were in Glasgow visiting our son and this was our last morning, we had our little dog with us ( who has serious issues as a rescue dog) so we needed somewhere to sit outside. The cafe looked perfect and although chilly himself could sit inside and wave at us!!We ordered coffee and toast for me and a cooked breakfast for himself. We did appreciate everything was freshly cooked.Coffee came ...was OK although not too hot ( and yes, I realise the importance of temperature!!)However, I waited 35 minutes for toast, himself the same......we did ask how things are doing and was explained it was all cooked fresh....but there is a limit. A drink WITH breakfast surely is normal.Once it did arrive it was good, however the off-hand attitude was quite surprising considering the ethos of the cafe/store....we won't return, not usual for Glasgow.

New to Glasgow. Noticed this place driving past and decided to visit. Loads of different types of tofu and tempeh, organic eggs and various other little treasures. Really impressed. Not cheap tho but was gifted a free coffee for spending more than 20 quid. Coffee was alright gift horse and all that. People seemed friendly. Place was fairly busy. Didn't try the cooked food.

We stopped here on Saturday - lovely welcome, staff friendly and relaxed, really fresh deli selection and lots of tempting goodies displayed in the shop. We were lucky to find a table inside and shared a really yummy deli platter with a side of Greek salad and a couple of tasty sausage rolls between the four of us. It was all superb - I just wish we lived nearer - I'd be there every week!

Great coffee. Hearty and tasty Scottish breakfast. All the natural foods etc. that you will need for a short stay in Glasgow. delicious baked goods and a wonderful flower shop attached.

When I was young I used to occasionally work in a workers wholefood cooperative - and this place reminds me of it a little. Mainly because of the sort of thing that they sell which is so worthy (though very high quality and desirable) that it's almost painful, but also because of the really lovely staff. This is one of the best places in the West End for a decent breakfast or lunch in my opinion. Even if you might decide to eat something that's not strictly speaking good for you, you still feel like it's doing you good. It's one of those places that has that sort of effect.

The breakfast in here is great. Love to visit at the weekend. However it can be very slow, I appreciate this is due to it been fresh and it does taste great! Furthermore there are some staff members who can be completely rude - which is disappointing as some are very friendly and approachable.

This is the second time we've gone in here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and I had forgotten how bad the service was last time. When I eventually managed to get the attention of the lady behind the counter I had to repeat my coffee order three times as she was more interested in the conversation taking place behind her to listen to me give my order, when I had ordered I asked her if she could please clear and clean the table we were sat at, the only real table in the place, she said she would then forgot. When a young guy brought one of the coffees I asked him not to put it on the dirty table and could be clean it please. He put it on the table and went to get some cleaning stuff. On return he laid down his squeeze bottle and cloth, picked up some dirty dishes took them away and never came back. When the food arrived I had to go over and ask a manager type if he would clean the table which he did and I sat down to have my breakfast only my wife still didn't have her coffee so it's back up to the counter to ask for it again and after some discussion amongst the staff about why we didn't have the coffee it was eventually delivered to the table. It's a great pity this place is such a shambles, the food is really good, but they really need a change of staff.

This is a fabulous place to eat in. There takeaway food is also delicious and the bread is not to be missed. This is a really popular place and gets pretty busy. Close to Glasgow University and lots of quirky shops. Really worth a visit.

Popped in with my daughter for a bite to eat. After making our choices we sat in the window expecting to receive a simple bowl of our chosen salads, or maybe a plastic container divided into two. How wrong we were. We were surprised! The food was nicely presented, oozing in flavour. Absolutely wonderful. It's refreshing to walk into a place and experience a pleasant surprise. Nice staff too.

Healthy and tasty food. Lots of salads, sandwiches and pies. Killer coffee. The is a cafe trapped in a health food shop. Don't be put off. Staff are good.

A great place for great cakes and very good coffee. There are also lunch options, such as pre-made buns and fillings, beans and salad and pasta etc. Also great for shopping for honey, spice, tea etc

Interesting coffee shop offering delights that are just a bit our of the ordinary, but they are into wholefoods so don't expect the flavours etc to be artificially enhanced. The almond croissant was acceptable, but I have had much better, the clementine tart was nice as was the fig and walnut, even if the pastry was not the lightest, no doubt it was better for me than any loaded with e numbers. Coffee was ok but even the extra shot did not get it to the caffeine kick I wanted. Interesting shop with all manner of organic deli items, I will return with my shopping bag when I have more time

Has a few vegan options at the counter- we had an amazing mocha cake and sweet potato wedges :) They sell lots of healthy, vegan (and non-vegan) items from cheese to curry paste and soup in the shop :) Lovely shop- would visit again!

Nice idea to have a breakfast there or a coffee and then buy what you need for cooking!!I like this place,the service is ok ,price ok.You can do your daily shopping,meet a friend for a coffee or discover new products.I found there a nice yogi tea!!I will be back
