I came for food not long ago and couldn’t fault it food was fresh and hot when serverd. 5 stars to Abi who was the sever and got our order through quick and also quick with our drinks with definitely be back.

Young girl was very pleasant had mixed up order but she changed it. However other staff on not friendly and been going there years always found management / staff very friendly and spoke to customers . Not enjoying atmosphere at all now We were there at 1 pm not overly busy and my companion had mobile issues etc. because we ate our meals at different times ( mine came after my client had finished his) weren’t asked re dessert so we left to go elsewhere for that .

We have been going regularly since the pub opened and have always been on friendly terms with all the staff . Tonight when we told we couldn't get a drink because the football was on and we hadn't booked a table. It was 5 o'clock and the tables were booked for 7. The managers attitude was terrible and this is no way to treat regulars. In future we will take our business elsewhere

Had a lovely afternoon in the Old Plane Tree for lunch, our server Mitchell was so friendly & helpful during our visit and was always there to help with anything. Can’t thank him enough!

Our server Mitchell was very welcoming and couldn’t be more helpful. He took his time with us and was accommodating to myself and my family, provided a great atmosphere to be in. Will be returning.

We had a large family lunch, group of 20 and 5 children. Our tables were set aside and laid for our arrival. All waiting / bar staff couldn't of been any more friendly or helpful. Despite us being such a large group, and we all ordered separately, food was all served pretty much together, no one was waiting, we were served promptly and everything was piping hot. Kids loved the outside play area. Thankfully weather was OK,didn't rain so they could play out. Perhaps a little area inside would be good for the days the weather isn't as good. Please thank everyone for their service. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the food. Nice atmosphere, relaxed and spacious. We will definitely be back and would recommend to friends and family

Mitchell was an excellent server, he never made us feel rushed and made friendly conversation. He really made me and my entire family feel so welcome! food was amazing as well just to top it off, will definitely be back!

Went in for a quick lunch today. Was served by the lovely Emily who always had a smile on her face even though she seemed really busy! Took the time to recommend items to my sister as she’s very fussy and she ended up getting the fish and chips which she said was really nice. I got the hunters chicken which was the perfect portion size for lunch and very tasty. Emily was very attentive and kept checking everything was okay with our meals! 10/10!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A few friends and I came in for a few drinks and it was really good. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, had a good chat with the bartenders Mitchell and Linzi. They couldn’t be nicer staff.

Great place. In for a meal we had toni-leigh looking after us and she was brilliant we placed a large order and she somehow memorised the whole thing. Checked on us frequently and when we ordered she advised us what was included in offers. Four of us had dinner which consisted of starters and mains. New menu is lovely good big selection of meals and good portion sizes. Good parking area. Dog friendly. Various things to do in and around the pub. There is a play area for the kids and a play area for the adults (pool and darts).

Pleasantly surprised came in for breakfast (wasn't expecting anything special ) breakfast was genuinely on par with some 5 star hotels we have stayed in. Great presentation, flavour and really good quality for the money

Anne was extremely good as a hostess and very engaging. Would definitely come back as the food was good and service quick and friendly.

Thank you for making my mums 80th birthday so special. The venue and food was outstanding and Anne and the team did everything they could to make us happy both pre and post event We were allowed to set up tables and flowers well before the booking time This removed added stress of hosting a party Thanks again guys

Standards have slipped, we had been regulars here but have noticed a steady decline, visited yesterday for dinner and was told to take a seat anywhere we wanted at the side of the restaurant, gone are the good old days where you were shown to a table, had a wine list but no drinks menu which found strange, ordered from the main menu which took an age to arrive, I had to ask our server, Darcey if she could clean our table as it was so sticky it was unreal, unfortunately this didn’t make any difference, was aware it was only Darcey and the manager that was on, food was hot and good quality, ordered 2 more drinks when the manager arrived with our food and we would still be waiting if it hadn’t been our server coming to check everything was ok! Item not available from the dessert menu which was disappointing. We had came back after a previous bad experience to give it another shot and use a 20% off voucher by way of an apology, I have to say things only slightly better and we won’t be rushing back.

Good food, the sirloin steak was nice. We had chosen a busy night however, so it was noisy with karaoke and a big party group nearby our table. Check before you go when booking.

I was at a dog friendly table with friends to celebrate our 60th birthday. We had a mix of lunches and everyone enjoyed their meal. I live local and the staff are great as always.

We have visited the restaurant for my brother’s birthday dinner last night , we were told that the kitchen will be closed in 20 minutes so we quickly placed our order. I went up to the bar to ask for a drink menu, staff were all standing together laughing and chatting while they ignored me even though they saw me standing there. Few minutes after I went up to ask if they can put candle in a cake for my brother and they informed me that there is no candle. I kindly asked if is possible to just write happy birthday beside a fudge cake and the staff member i spoke to said it’s fine to do that. 30 minutes later i walked up to the bar again as no one came to check if the food is okay and if we need anything, as they were busy chatting, the girl in bar said sorry the kitchen is closed. If this was the case i should have been informed at the start when i asked for it. This is the first place I have been to that that the service is very horrible that I will never go back and recommend to anyone. We were also charged extra for drinks so make sure to check the bill before paying .Besides all the bad experience with staff, the food was the better side of the night.

Great night with mates having some food and beers, Nikki the manager has done a great job turning the place around.

Booked table and restaurant was already busy when we arrived. Drink arrived promptly but our Thursday Steak deals were slow to arrive. When the steaks arrived they were cooked perfectly and the whole meal was delicious. Well worth the wait. Thanks to all the staff including the very busy chef.

This place used to be good but it’s a hit and miss. We went for lunch on a Friday a few weeks ago and they were short staffed and there was no mixed grill and that was only at 12pm. Food was passable but it used to be much better.

Great wee pub in weird location. Went at lunchtime and it was fairly empty. Got a great wee kids area to entertain the wee ones

Second time walking out of this restaurant due to lack of service. When we arrived for our table, multiple staff members ignored us for several minutes, then after finally being seated we waited for over 20 minutes without anyone coming to even take a drinks order, or acknowledging us further. As this was a Sunday evening the place was quiet but with plenty of staff, very disappointing.

Went in with the 30% mains voucher to get myself a burger, won’t bother using the other one. Service was extremely slow, took about 20 minutes before I could order, almost an hour to get my food, and then a further hour (would have been more if the kitchen didn’t close and staff started getting ready to leave, prompting me to ask) to get my bill and find out if my voucher would be applied (it wasn’t). Massive waste of time.

We booked the old plane tree for our Easter family meal and requested a table to fit 13 of us. However, on arrival we were seated at 2 separate tables. The food was good but the service let it down significantly. We had 3 occasions were other tables food was attempted to be given to our party. Then when our food arrived, which was fairly quick after ordering, only 10 of us were given meals, the other 3 had to wait 15-20 minutes for theirs to come, by which time the rest had finished eating. The 3 meals came at staggered intervals too. Not what you go to a restaurant for to be honest. As stated previously though the food was OK and most enjoyed their orders however one of the last meals which was already 20 minutes late had raw chipolatas on the plate. Desserts were good, can't fault them. One last thing, the law states that an individual between the age of 16-17 may have 1 alcoholic drink with their meal when accompanied by an adult, I purchased my son a pint and was approached by a manager for ID, apparently this establishment doesn't permit anyone under 18 to have the 1 drink legal allowance with a meal. Not much of a complaint here as am alert, any establishment can deny anyone alcohol of course, so just a highlight for customers incase they are having any celebration and we're allowing 1 drink to their family members. On a positive side, my sister requires gluten free and their menu is far superior to any other restaurant we have been to, the options were great. We would return but their service needs to significantly improve.

The old plane tree is my local ,as I live in the village The staff are all lovely always so friendly and attentive Anne especially as an onlooker I can see Anne is a very experienced Staff member I would also consider her valued team member.She is wonderful at her job ,works tirelessly ,always busy such a nice lady , Always smiling .
