i cannot believe the negative reviews regarding breakfast. i find it great value for money with generous servings and good quality food. Just had the full breakfast which was delicious. This restaurant also serves a good lunch menu with plenty of choice and again generous servings. Highly recommend

Arrived in St Monans to discover this was only place to get a coffee. Located in an industrial estate was very disappointed & overpriced for a takeaway coffee/tea.

5 Stars from the start. Came here on Sunday afternoon before it got busy and we were very well looked after. Asked if we could move our booking outside, wasnt a problem at all, brought the high chair out for us, did table service out there too. We were really impressed with the young girl that served us. Also very good for my wife's dairy allergy. Two of them came out to sing happy birthday to our friend's son. All just very nice on touches on top of a really good service. Food was very tasty as well and good amounts of it. £85 for 4 meals and 2 drinks or so each is very reasonable as well. Very impressed!

The staff are run off feet we were there yesterday in St andrews and our family actually witnessed a very friendly man nazir I think his name was , served us fine friendly and well spoken but we witnessed a woman ask for an English breakfast then almost throw it back at him ..looked fine to me... n proceed to say she didn't order it..she most certainly did but didn't stop there she then began insulting him shouting that he shouldn't be on a till in this country if he can't speak English.. the poor man has never been anything but charming when we go in as a family of 4 and understands and speaks English just fine . Wasn't pleasant to watch and with very little staff n no management in sight she was refunded n let go on her way....why are you tolerating blatened bigotry our food was fine our service impeccable atmosphere not so much feels like it could be cut with a knife if she wasn't happy ask quietly for refund ..why stoop to plain nastiness

People queue in a line for the bar. Would be 5⭐️ if this wasn't the case. £5.60 a Guinness and it's a no bad Guinness. Came back to knock a star off because the service time is terrible. Stood for 10 mins at bar, 5 behind bar, one serving customers and it was busy.

Have eaten at The Ship Inn 4 times a year for 8 years and always had a great meal. Today's experience of chicken breast and vol au vent was, to say the least, disappointing. Fine dining prices for a meal l would be embarrassed to serve at home. Dry chicken, over reduced sauce, servers who hadn't been talked through the menu. Previously I would have given a 5* review, today a very generous 2*
