Have been here a few times with my family. The service is always efficient and the food tasty. The prices are great for the portion sizes. Great central venue in Dunfermline.

Visit here regularly, it can be extremely busy at times, overall staff are always pleasant and attentive, drink prices are reasonable, food not so, on the downside the toilets are downstairs, and obviously the disabled are not, and this establishment can lock heating at times.

Good breakfast. Fast and efficient and worth the price.

Nice, clean hotel in the middle of town right in the pedestrian zone - and the pub right in the house with moderate prices and a huge selection - you can spend a rainy Scottish evening there with a clear conscience!

What I like about Wetherspoon is the unlimited tea and coffee for a mere £1.56. I like the uncomplicated menu offering small plates, large plates and in-between plates of delicious food for inexpensive dining. Love the quietness in the morning having a small Scottish breakfast or an American classic with pancakes and maple syrup. Staff are great at service. Toilets are usually where you'd expect in a Wetherspoon- down in the depths of hell or up in the heavens but it's a nice atmosphere to be in with friends and family.

Luv it. Had steak n salad yesterday and it was great. Really good VFM as was the service.

Stayed and ate here with a friend for an Alhambra Theatre night. Hotel is a 5 minute walk away. Location is excellent. Arrived on a Saturday afternoon - check in process is appalling. Don't bother going to the hotel reception door. And although they tell you its manned from 11am, we never saw a soul, not even checking out. You have to queue at the bar in Wetherspoons to check in. Good luck getting served if you're not a 21 year old male. Attitude of bar staff very poor. Room however was fantastic. Spotlessly clean and came with everything needed. One star taken off for the noise from adjacent rooms in the morning. The rugby was playing on multiple tvs and was relatively busy however the slot machines were poitioned badly and despite the young waitress saying "excuse me", very clearly, numerous times the people playing the machines still managed to knock into her while she had a tray of drinks. We had dinner in the evening. Tables everywhere cluttered and uncleaned. Again service at the bar awful. Got served after 15 minutes and querying why I hadn't been served to be told I was standing at the wrong, one of many, till points. I advise you use the app. I couldn't get a signal but my friend did. Dinner surprisingly good. We had the "gourmet" sirloin steak, which was cooked to perfection. There was a raw, yes uncooked, mushroom on my plate. In the morning I had vegan breakfast and fruit. This was delicious and great value for money and mushroom was cooked. Tea etc is refillable. Service in the morning outshone the evening. Staff were friendlier, more efficient and faster. Tables were cleared and cleaned promptly. Despite 2 stars, we would stay again as it was cheap and we would know what to expect next time.

Nice atmosphere even though there's no music. Service is much faster if you remain at your table and order via the app on your phone - top tip! The food is well priced and reasonable quality.

A lovely historic building which created a great atmosphere for lunch. The food was of the usual Weatherspoon quality, cheap and cheerful. Staff were very friendly.

Food was ok, although my husband was given the wrong meal and we waited over 10 minutes for the waitress to come back to swap the meal which didn't happen by which that time my husband began to eat. We ordered 3 warm cookie doughs with ice cream. The cookie dough was cold like it had just come out if the fridge and there was a scraping of ice cream on top. Not what was described on the menu. Waiting staff gave us our food and disappeared. The lady at the bar taking orders was very grumpy, unfriendly and welcoming.

Standard pub fare. No surprise there. We had breakfast and dinner. Ordered pancake with bacon, bacon was very fatty. Dinner took a while to arrive as they were busy.

Was having a great night until one of the barmaids with an attitude accused our friend of smoking indoors (he doesn’t smoke) and demanded the whole table leave. Horrible service, employees are incredibly rude and discriminating. Go do any other pub in Dunfermline besides this one.

There is no better value in Dunfermline.I enjoy the large Scottish breakfast with limitless delicious lattes and,somehow, that only comes to £7.79.You are served promptly by the welcoming staff, who take your order from the extensive menu at the counter .The Restaurant is warm,comfortable ,and well lit.The large tasty Scottish breakfast consists of sausages,eggs,black pudding ,potato scone ,beans,toast and butter.You are never hassled to leave in the spacious rooms.Disabled facilities are top notch,there are vegan options,numerous lunch time deals and a spotless toilet.You come out onto the high street with the main city bus stance just a few metres away.

The food is always lovely, the decor is fab and it’s always clean when you go in. The staff are helpful and polite without being obtrusive and service is very quick, no matter how busy it is. I always drop in for lunch here when I’m in Dunfermline

Sticky floors and tables, dirty cutlery, dirty plates, and see the photos of the "clean glass" we got for our drinks. Enough said.

After a day of hill walking nearby, we were pleased to find a Weatherspoon pub with reasonably priced drinks. Service at the bar was adequate (one employee at the time), and plenty of tables were available for our small group to choose from.

I always feel that these reviews stars need to be reviewed and renamed. This is another case where i feel the food was above average but not quite very good. Price and portion size are excellent but i just feel it lacks something that prevents it being very good. I had the spicy grilled chicken with spicy rice. Chicken was well cooked but rice was underseasoned and tasteless. A good attempt but not incredible.

Me and my partner came here for a meal and one boy got our order wrong and the manager got us what was missing and then my partner got a uncooked egg and we hated it

Had breakfast here this morning and the only word I can use to describe it is disgusting! It was freezing cold and the bacon was still oinking on the plate! I’ve had many Wetherspoon breakfasts but this was by far the worst! Such a shame as we ate there after a night in the Wetherspoon hotel next door which was lovely!

I have no idea how the large Scottish breakfast, washed down with as many coffees as you can drink, set me back only £7.The value is incredible!The restaurant was warm,comfortable and spotlessly clean.The young man who is the Manager and the Waitress who took my order were warm,welcoming,chatty and attentive.The breakfast comprised sausages,black puddings,eggs,beans,potato scones,two slices of toast with Lurpak butter.The coffee dispensers are clean and well maintained.The waitress checked I was enjoying the meal. At no time are you chivied to hurry up. .The toilets are modern and hygienic with old photos of Dunfermline to peruse.The location, at the heart of the High Street and near the bus station, is excellent,

We have popped in her a few times for food as it’s local and convenient. Went in today for the so called curry club. We were sat by the kitchen opposite the serving Hatch. Saw our food placed in the counter and the number flash up on the screen next to it, it sat there and sat there, for about ten minutes before anyone paid it attention. In the interim staff came and went. When it eventually arrived all I can say is poor. The chicken was burnt on the top cool at the bottom, the onion Bhajis were raw on the bottom black on the top, the rice was stuck together in lumps and the Nan bread not cooked properly. After bringing it to the attention of staff and receiving a refund for the onion bhajis, not so much as a sorry about that.. just dumped the coins on the table and walked off. Sorry weatherspoon’s are supposed to be cheap and cheerful, not cheap and nasty. Not even cheap these days, won’t be back I have to say.

Not too keen on eating in Wetherspoons but it seemed to be our best option. It was fairly busy but there was a few free tables. Ordered via the app and the drinks arrived quickly, followed by the food about 5 mins later. The food wasn’t too bad. The chips were on the tepid side. Happy to see they had new rums to try! Enjoyed our meals.

Pretty minging, I first of all wiped our table with 3 antivirus wipes as it was disgusting! And then received our drinks after 15 mins when really quiet, to discover this vile rotten piece of lemon in it 🤢

This popular restaurant is back spotlessly clean and with a reassuring adherence to all Covid regulations.The full cooked breakfast remains tasty and filling and only £5.10 washed down with as much Coffee at 99p as you want.Tables are regularly cleaned and spaced out,toilets are immaculate and staff wear masks.The all day brunch though is a misnomer as it was not available at 10am.The service is prompt, staff are helpful and polite.

Stopped here for brunch food was good service ok it’s what you expect from spoons keep up the good work will always return.

Normally enjoy a couple in here however the service is shocking, rude aggressive staff who don’t know a thing about customer service. Was shocked at the way me and my frjend were treated. The place is full of 16 year olds drinking at the weekend however the staff would not allow me and my friend (18 years of age) in Cos she was a little drunk, but isn’t the point of going out drinking to get drunk? Despite the Lockdown restrictions,I had a pleasant experience on my return here today 19th August 2020.The Social Distancing and Restrictions were in place but unobtrusive.Thanks to Rishi Sunak my large Scottish breakfast only came to £3.14 even with limitless lattes.I did not leave my seat or go up to the bar or coffee dispenser.I was served throughout by warm welcoming staff who were rushed off their feet in the busy restaurant.Staff all wore masks.It was a very reassuring experience.Tables were spotless.

Arrived here for lunch was told at the door table service only via the app. That was fine until you tried to order, the app wasnt working so if you ordered a meal that had a drink included you couldnt order the drink, but we were told we had to order the food by app and then go the bar for our drinks (ie queuing inside when you are not suppose to) upon doing this we were then charged for the drinks even though they should have been included. On querying this we were told we would get a refund. On top of all this the tables were not clean. We left

Considering we are in the midst of covid19, you'd think hygiene would be right up there.Not here!! Sticky dirty table, cutlery returned as it was dirty, and then the 2nd set still had the remains of someone's dinner stuck to them.This is absolutely not acceptable at any time, but more especially now.Shame on you Spoons.

I love a Wetherspoons, and after a stoli and tonic I am a sucker for the nachos, pizza, pancakes. Handy for post threatre eating and drinking and friendly bar staff, mixed crowd of all ages and types all finding a space here. Love it.

Pleasamt surprise. For price the room is really nice. Great long shower. Friendly bar staff (we checked in via bar) and were walked to hotel entrance. You hear a wee bit noise from Guildhall St but my ears were ringing from Big Country so acceptable! Would stay again. Plenty of pay parking nearby.

Dropped in for snack and pint and both very good. Ordered using the app and pint arrived first followed in reasonable time by my snack. Staff always friendly and helpful. Busy as usual so plenty going on.

Decent food and obviously dirt cheap but can get very rowdy from all sorts one friday night. Maybe a visit outside of friday and Saturday night

Popped in for breakfast before shopping. Never have I seen a roll on link sausage with only one link sausage on it!! Dirty mug and generally poor service from staff-not a patch on my local spoons.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon for drinks but didn't stay long. Bar was busy but only 2 people serving and whilst they were doing their best there were queues of people waiting too long to get served. I wasn't the only one complaining about the service.People walking out, queues at the bar and dirty glasses going uncollected is not a good look, Mr Weatherspoon.

I'm on disability benefits and need every penny I have. The only reason I knew I was charged twice was because I went for gas and card was declined. I think it should be refunded straight away if it there mistake I had to go stay with relatives untill I was paid 3days later still waiting on refund.I'm in weatherspoons quite often and the staff are friendly and helpfull food is good and the b&b is nicely decorated and very comfortable. I have no issues but with my refund.I would recommend friends family to stay. It's the inconvenience of having to ask family to stay with them and embarrassing

Was in Dunfermline for some business on the evening of 7th January 2020. Decided to go for a quick pint before catching my bus home. The place was very quiet and be lucky if a dozen people were in the room. I was served by someone at the bar who appeared disinterested and when I took my pint to the table it was uncleaned from previous customers. The floor was also very sticky from pints that had been spilt. Will give this place a miss in the future.

I had a turkey breast dinner and a pint of ale for under a fiver! I could have had the lamb shank for the same price which works out to less than half price.Good service, despite bar staff doubling up with other roles.The following morning I enjoyed a hearty breakfast, see photos

tables dirty had to ask to clean very slow service food was so so ,but what can you expect for a Weatherspoon restaurant if u been to one u know how the rest are but this was not good .minimum service is to clean tables and in this restaurant tables were not clean

Once again for the second time in as many weeks walked out due to so slow service. Lunch time on 12th dec one person behind bar to order food and drinks with a queue of at least five people waiting. Walked out, couldn’t be bothered to wait. Last week ordered chips with curry sauce, arrived with sauce in a minuscule jug. Sauce stone cold lumps, asked for hot sauce, arrived but then chips cold, got replacement chips and sauce but sauce still cold, left food and exited. Serious staffing shortages. Informed by bar staff that only two people at a time employed to operate bar and food ordering so only one available most of the time. Unless time isn’t an issue avoid this place like the plague.

Burger and chips twice with a drink for £11. Everything was excellent. Recommended. As usual the toilets were a million miles away.

Well I'd like to review breakfast we had yesterday 1st December but I cannot due to following reason... Ordered 2 breakfasts via app, no problem, cups delivered to table, breakfasts arrived so far so good then fire alarm sounded....staff quickly reacted and cleared restaurant and hotel with minimum fuss. Outside we stood in minus temps waiting on all clear from firemen who had arrived about 15 minutes after alarm sounded. We stood around waiting however due to prearranged travel arrangements we had to leave before all clear came. So there we have it, gave 2 star rating for food, what little we had time to taste but would award 5 stars to staff who performed their fire duties with minimum fuss. Perhaps next time...

Stayed three nights, after been given a room where the heating was not working, within an hour I was moved upstairs to a warm, comfortable room. The room was immaculate, and quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely views over to Queensferry to! I will never forget the twinkling lights over the water. Beautiful building taken great care of by the company. Had a great stay.

Sunday afternoon popped in for a drink after a walk, abysmal organisation and prioritising of staff behind the bar, unlike most other "Spoons" I've been in. A queue of punters wanting to order food plus others simply wanting drinks, 2 people behind the bar!! We counted at least 5 bar staff wandering around doing goodness knows what.

Visit here regularly and I have never a bad word to say staff are fantastic food is fantastic drinks cheap and cheerful cheapest and by far the best in the town

Visited this week in late afternoon. Met at bar by Barman who was not in the least welcoming! No acknowledgement, smile or anything. Put our drinks down beside dirty glasses on the bar rather than clear dirty ones away first! He had no customer service whatsoever! This was the first licensed premises I have ever seen where there was tables of school pupils sitting at the tables in school uniform! Not a great look really!

I was here on Saturday the 7th of September at lunch time and the service was very slow. Two young guys serving on the bar and a young girl just walking behind the bar making drinks and putting them on the edge of the bar before looking at screen and making more. Pre making drinks for faster service perhaps? But then wouldn’t it be faster to have her serve. She then stopped that and she began to serve. She served me where I found out her name was Stacey in the middle of serving me a one of the young men serving just started talking to her he seemed to have an accent was seemingly asking her a question about the tills. She apologised after helping him and explained he was new I still saw this as very rude and hope they get punishment for it.

Had lunch here and was very happy with the service, quality of food and the general atmosphere. It’s a busy place but we were served quickly and efficiently at the bar and the food arrived very quickly too.

Sometimes everything is fine, some others so so. I've been there many times, fair prices, the staff is friendly, good choice of food and drinks from the menu, nice and friendly atmosphere. Yesterday we ordered 2 x 8oz steaks and once again we noticed that the quality of the food is getting always worst, especially the meat. A few years ago the steaks were always good cut, soft. Yesterday, once again, the steak was hard, not the best cut and also not well cooked and I ordered it well cooked. I hope they will do something to improve the quality or I won't go back there.

Can't knock the cheap price concept but the cleanliness of the stairs down to and the actual toilets themselves was absolutely disgusting!! No need for it - makes you wonder how clean the kitchen is??

Visited for Sunday night dinner. First impression lots of tables dirty or full of dishes. Found a fairly clean one and ordered Balmoral Chicken, cant go wrong I thought. When it arrived it looked pretty awful, mashed potato was brown(dont know how that happens)! The chicken was hidden under a blob of haggis and peppercorn sauce and was Luke warm. The amazing thing was that it tasted fine, maybe I was just hungry! Anyway after finishing dinner I went to the loo where due to a customer being unwell was directed to the disabled toilet back upstairs. When I tried the door was told it was kept locked. Now why would a disabled customer have to try and find a member of staff to allow them access to a toilet, by the way I only counted 3 staff working in the whole place!. When we asked were told this is company policy...really?

Myself and my husband, Frank, were in the lovely kingdom of dunfremline and decided to wet our whistles at this fine fine fine fine drinking hot spot. I ordered myself a rather large lager shandy whilst my husband, Frank, opted for a fine ‘cheeky v’ cocktail decanter.

We arrived post 2pm on Friday afternoon. The place was busy but there were a few tables available. Those which were available were full of dirty dishes moved from one table to another.

My wife and I have eaten at many Weatherspoon’s in the past, mainly in England, and this one ranks right up there with the best of them. When we arrived for lunch the place was extremely busy, but we easily found a table. Everything we saw really pleased us, from the cleanliness, to the layout of the pub, and the staff flitting around constantly. We ordered out drinks and meals through the Android app, which is great as it means that you don’t have to queue at the bar, but can do everything from the comfort of your table. Soon after ordering and paying by PayPal our drinks arrived, and not long after the food was brought to the table by a smiling, polite member of the Weatherspoon’s team. We asked for a couple of plates as we were sharing a pizza, and these were brought quickly to the table with another smile, and the impression that nothing was too much trouble for this lovely member of staff. The meal was great, so we were truly glad that we had stopped off here for our lunch. Pity this establishment is not nearer to our home in Leicester, as we would be frequenting it quite a lot.

Absolutely shocking experience. My wife and I went into this Bar and sat and had 4 drinks each, we then decided to order food. i went to the Bar and ordered a meal, paid for it and went and sat back down. Before the meal arrived i went back to the bar to order another drink to enable us to eat with our meal as it had not arrived. I was met by the rudest Manager i have ever met, who preceded to tell me she was not prepared to serve me concerned for my own safety. So i asked her what she meant and she replied i think you have had enough to drink today, bearing in mind i had 4 rounds with them and just ordered the food. i was not rude, drunk, didn't cause any trouble but she kept saying you cannot have a drink with my meal. so i said once again, we would like some drinks with our meal and she said you can't. i asked for a refund to which she said yes, it will go back on your card. The next day it had not gone back on. We queried this with head office and they said, because the food got delivered to your table but you sent it back, we are not entitled to a refund. This is not the last weather spoons have heard of this episode as i will be going to the ombudsman (with my video footage of the rude manager and her reason for taking food order and not allowing a drink!!) and i certainly will not be drinking in one of these sub standard, disrespectful public pub chains again. The funny thing is, we went to the 7 kings and they were very welcoming, said they were more than happy to serve us food and drink... So everyone, if you are planning on going for a few drinks then food, be very careful and avoid at all costs, go to the 7 kings!

I returned on 14th March to try Brunch in this warn,welcoming,busy,comfortable restaurant and was not disappointed.Served by the pleasant Beth and by a welcoming waitress at table 51 I had the All Day Brunch with limitless Latte and all for a barely credible £6.29.The Brunch consisted of Sausages,fried eggs,bacon,baked beans and tomato with chips.The toilets are clean,the tables spotless.It was mobbed at 10am which speaks volumes.The provocative "Leave" propaganda had been removed from the table in this firmly "Remain" historic tourist town.

Great staff and very busy but one member or team leader as no customer service skill more worry about clean glass and getting food out and then walking around like he was the owner Manager running around like mad

Great place to have drinks at a very reasonable price. Nice spacious pub/bar. Had a few pitcher cocktails to share, gin fizz and porn star martini, pretty good, would definitely recommend. Great to go with a group of friends .

Went in here for a drink ... what a disastet.

Dropped in for breakfast and took the Eggs Benedict with toast and a pot of tea Ordered at the bar and 10 mins later a very cheery young lady appeared with our order . I must say this was a really good meal There is a lot of seating in the place and it is a meeting place for locals for a coffee and tea . We were in at 11.00am and the place was half full.

I had the Traditional Breakfast and an equally tasty hot Latte on 09/01/2019 which,somehow,came to a fiver.The warmth of the welcome ,as I ordered the meal at the bar and from the waitress ,who brought the freshly made meal ,were genuine.The restaurant was warm,comfortable and clean as was the toilet.The plate featured sausage,bacon,fried egg,baked beans,tomato,potato scone and toast with butter all nicely washed down with the coffee.It was three minutes from a major bus station in the heart of the popular historic tourist town.In Scotland ,which is largely Remain,only the unnecessary print out advocating Leave,detracted from the wonderful experience!

This is a Wetherspoons with rooms to let. Nice decor, spacious and bright. Quick service , good food and value for money in a historic building right in centre of town.

Good selection of food at very reasonable prices, in some cases drinks included with the price of meals, staff always friendly, and our meals were served quickly.

In a great central location with a nice interior. The food is average compared to other Weatherspoon Restaurants which is a shame. .......same menu....

It used to be so much better... don’t really understand what happened but the place totally lacks someone in charge? You can see the new staff members who are being left in very busy bar not sure what they are doing and older staff members pretending being busy;) not all of them of course..

Our food was served quickly and wss cheap and plenty if it. We both had fish which was pretty much man sized with a mountain of chips! As with most weatherspoons the loo was a downstairs and downstairs again into a basement very nice though! Lol

Catching up for lost time with a friend I hadn't seen in a while.

Went in for a pizza which my friend had been raving about .Her daughter went in week ago after refusing to visit after 18months due to rude attitude of staff to find nothing changed as she again witnessed herself being spoke about by management to the staff whilst she was standing in front of them .Our experience was that my friend asked for pizza and mushrooms added to pizza when pizza came there was no pizza on top we asked for mushrooms pizza was returned then server came back said we hadn't paid for mushrooms so we gave him then 50 pence all which took 10 minutes our pizza arrived with mushrooms but was original pizza which was now cold and we had to send back t.pizza came back but was obviously heated in microwave

Popped in for a quick lunch, and was pleased to see now serve pizza, which I decided to try out and to be honest I thought tastied as good as any pizza from the big names in the pizza game, definitely be back for more.

My son and I ate there on Friday night after travelling from Aberdeenshire. We arrived about 8pm and were both extremely hungry. We looked at the menu but both opted for fish Friday with bread and butter washed down with a pint of lager. I regularly have fish in my local weatherspoons and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was to the same standard. Considering my local weatherspoons is supplied with fresh fish regularly. The food is cheap and cheerful it is what it is !!! But boy did we both enjoy it seldom have I had a bad meal from weatherspoons keep up the good work.

Not the easiest to get too if you can't walk well but once you get over the small uphill walk from the closest parking it is ok.

Usually go here for a cooked breakfast, served until noon (a strict deadline as you won't get served if you miss it by a couple of minutes). Breakfast is always decent and enjoyable and staff are very happy to exchange items - or give you fresh eggs if the ones you're served are a little overdone! Quick service, and refills of coffee are always welcome from a self-service coffee machine - although I wish it were at the other end of the bar to save having to walk through a room full of 10am solo beer drinkers. Decaf coffee not available unfortunately. Decor attractive and interesting; service always extremely quick. Don't miss the award-winning toilets in the basement!

Abbiamo cenato in questo pub ad un prezzo molto buono. Servono le tipiche pietanze scozzesi, ordinando al bancone e poi con servizio al tavolo. Consigliato.

A quick Sunday lunch with my daughter. She had fish & chips and I had a BBQ Burger. The best thing I can say about the experience was that it was very cheap. The portion sizes were OK but it was quite bland.

Travelling to Dunfermline in a day for a funeral, somewhere was needed to have some food and a drink before saying goodbye to a departed military friend. On this somber day the staff were attentive without being OTT, the service was first class and the food hit the spot. A good watering-hole, although a bit far too travel from way down south for a cheeky pint.

Today very poor rating as I ordered a large breakfast. When I ordered I asked for no tomato. They did not ask if I wanted anything extra instead of the tomato. When I received the meal. There was tomato on it. The meal was cold. There was items on the menu missing 2 black pudding & potato scone & a slice of toast short. But they did add a large mushroom 2 hash browns an extra slice of bacon instead. They also did not ask. How is your meal. I was finished the meal though before I complained about it. Though the place was fairly busy at the time.

CONCLUSION: they were out of salsa for the nachos, slow service, waitress has no idea what coeliac disease was, didn't get what I ordered

You have to get your own coffee from a machine here - not easy to take to your table as it's at the door with all the folk milling around and it's HOT, unlike beer. etc. A great portion of gammon and chips - soggy and cool though for the chips. Great prices and surroundings with lots of space. Quick and polite service. A bit noisy in the bar area and that isn't great for children, etc.
