Unfortunately the Cafe has went downhill in the past few months. Found it hard to get a seat as the tables needed cleared and cleaned. Staff dropping food off to the tables but didn't take clear tables on yhe return journey which if they did, they could've got on top of it. Care was not too busy so the effort could have been made in my opinion. Mens toilet cubicle could not be closed and locked, a simple fix🤷♂️. A shame as the Cafe used to be really good👎

Life is largely a matter of unfulfilled expectations. Those who visit Morrisons on a regular basis know that they want, they really want, to improve the 'customer experience'. They would like us to like them. We are old enough to remember when their marketing slogan was 'More Reasons to Shop at Morrisons', but the sad truth is they have never been able to think of any. Change usually equals disappointment. We have used Morrisons in St Andrews for many years because we are able to avoid the evening crush in the Tesco Metro, and can drop into the cafe after we have loaded the shopping. We are now re-thinking this. One innovation that hasn't helped is the introduction of a two-hour parking limit, backed up by the threat of a £100 fine. We were vaguely aware of this (there are lots and lots of signs) but we carried on as normal. And then, one Friday evening, we stayed slightly later in the cafe (mainly because our fish and chips were horribly overcooked and had to be sent back) and a few days later the fine arrived in the post. Morrisons now sells the most expensive fish and chips in the country. It's official. A little while back Morrisons introduced another new menu, promising all sorts of things, and from time to time we would go for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Almost invariably we would have the 'classic Poached Eggs and Smashed Avocado', a dish that started out as good value. But disappointment is never far away. On a recent visit we were presented with rubbery eggs floating on green slime on toast that resembled charred brillo pads. We sent it back. The replacement dishes were a slight improvement; however the eggs were not actually poached but boiled. When we pointed this out, we were informed that the "cook is not allowed to make the eggs any more... they arrive in plastic bags and get heated up". The fish and chips have been pretty reliable over many years, and even when not part of an offer, have been very good value. Recently Morrisons started marketing this completely ordinary dish as 'Ultimate Fish and Chips', on the basis (apparently) that each bit of fish is hand-battered to order. It doesn't just arrive that way in a plastic bag. On our most recent visit we ordered 'Ultimate Fish and Chips' and, ultimately, it was a bit of a let-down. It was fine. It was a hundred times better than the eggs and avocado fiasco a few days earlier. But Morrisons' use of the word 'ultimate' is extremely ill-advised. As you will see from our photographs, compared to the fish and chips we bought on a previous occasion, Morrisons has shrunk the fish, Honey. The chunky and actually quite good Tartare Sauce has gone, and it is back to the white gloop in the little sachets. And the chips, while cooked properly, seem to be an inferior product. More reasons to shop at Morrisons. We have decided that, in future, we will be driving to Dundee, where there is a choice of supermarkets. Not very Green, I know.

For years I have been visiting this restaurant and at the end of my shop always looked forward to having a curry or fish and chips which are two of my favourites before heading back home. I visited the restaurant just recently and was appalled at the portion of curry I was served, it was so small and with hardly any sauce that I don’t know why the chef or the kitchen staff would have the audacity to let that plate leave their kitchen and shows to me they weren’t in the least bit concerned about offending the customer. However, the waiter who served me was extremely courteous and did apologise after I called him over and he even admitted to me that he thought the portion size was very poor before placing the plate in front of me. However, he did kindly offer me a portion of chips for free, which I accepted, although I would have preferred another plate with a decent sized portion of curry. The only other time I’ve ever complained about a meal in all those years visiting the restaurant was once when it arrived on a cold plate but I never had to complain about portion size, ever. I pray this is not a sign of things things to come else I’ll be giving this restaurant a wide berth in future.

Nipped into store for a few essentials after visiting St Andrews and decided to visit the cafe. Pleasant lady on the till although was surprised that she had to check if they could swap the lorne sausages with link for my partners breakfast. I ordered the Vegan breakfast. The prices are a lot more expensive than they used to be so I was expecting something reasonable. We were told what table to sit on and all the cutlery was out for everyone to help themselves which I wasn't happy with given the current situation. We waited for about 10 minutes before the food was brought which was fine given how busy they were. I immediately noticed that my toast for the Vegan breakfast had butter with it. I asked the server about Vegan spread and she apologised saying she forgot about it. She then brought toast with Vegan spread and confirmed that the other day she had given a full breakfast to a customer who had ordered a Vegetarian breakfast so I was lucky! I actually felt worried about the lack of understanding of dietary requirements. The breakfast was cold and uninspiring. The sausages were dry and spicy. I didn't enjoy the breakfast at all. By the time I got in I had terrible indigestion and stomach ache. I took indigestion treatment but suffered stomachache and didn't eat for the rest of the day. In the morning I had to visit the toilet numerous times and feel it can only be from eating here. I will avoid using this cafe again.

Had the misfortune of having an early morning business meeting within the cafe and for being first thing in the morning you'd expect certain things such as tables & floors to be clean but they weren't.Choice was excellent I should point out, the cooked breakfast was very underwhelming and looked as if it has been thrown onto the plate for a measured distance : also look warm at best. The tea was incredibly weak for my liking while a colleagues sandwich had dry, almost toast like bread which was no way fresh that day

HI My wife and I moved to St Andrews and we are there 2 years now. Love St Andrews - sorry hate Morrisons. It must be the worst supermarket in Fife and Tayside. It is so dated, like the 50s in a time warp. It has it uses but we have to go to Aldi and Morrisons for a better selection. For eg Tesco Riverside now that's a supermarket, great selection I am never disappointed it has everything. Now that M&S are opening We can go to them all.I hate this but Morrisons will have to get there act together. Refurb and better selection if they want to serve the public in St Andrews.

The Rule is great! We came in for drinks and ended up on the Boozy Brunch(£33 for a large brunch dish and 6 cocktails!) deal which is amazing value! Great food-pub grub done really well and Beverly big portions. Cocktails were fab-potent and came with the garnishes you don’t always get on deals like this. Above all the service was outstanding. We were asked frequently if we needed anything, if we needed our next drink and the girls who served us were all fabulous. Friendly and helped with choices too. We were attended by Iona, Rachael and Louise. Thank you girls-you made our girly brunch brilliant!

We went here for a cup of tea as it is dog friendly. That was a big plus. However you can only seem to order via the screen opposite the counter and this was not easy with lots of people milling around. We found seats towards the back and the lighting was poor which was probably just as well as it felt slightly grubby. My husband wanted to use the toilet and said it was filthy and certainly the queue of people waiting to use the one toilet would not have allowed a clean. Overall not somewhere I would return to as a parent of a student.

Visited this lunchtime with service users. Food was ok although 2 of the baked potatoes were very small with hardly any filling, the 3 filled rolls all good, no complaints. The issue arose when it came to paying, quite disorganised. The gentleman became visibly stressed, struggled to find the price of most items. We needed individual receipts + as the till didn't print these, they needed to be hand written, he didn't know what to do + when he asked for help he was told "he's busy" + "I've not a clue, sorry", there was a woman standing close by who looked like she could've helped but didn't. I made eye contact a couple of times but she just let him muddle on through. I ended up saying to him to forget about the receipts and I would do them myself on return to work. He was so anxious, really felt for him. He needed support + didn't get any. Wasn't a pleasant experience. I've worked with adults with additional support needs for nearly 20 years + have an autistic stepson. I'm all for places like Sensoriale but please support the staff to be the best that they can be.
