The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Central Scotland

The 2 star review is for the food, which was good, albeit a sandwich and two coffee’s.Something wrong if you can’t get that right. And that folks is where the praise ends. On arrival, cafe was reasonably busy. Got seated and handed menu’s. Waited around 10 minutes, with no sign of anyone coming to take our order so decided to go to the counter, only to be told rather abruptly that someone was coming. Had our coffee’s and sandwich after which my wife decided to go to the ladies toilet. On returning i could see she was not amused ( you get to know the signs after 30years of marriage) Thankfully, i was not the subject this time of her dissatisfaction! She said the toilet was a disgusting disgrace. I doubted it could be that bad but i have learned to agree in most circumstances. Happy wife, happy life and all that. I too then decided to use the facilities and on reaching the toilets, it was apparent that the gents was out of order. Not because of a sign saying so! No, but due to an obstruction intentionally jammed infront of the gents door making it impossible to open, and with no other alternative, i made the deduction the use of the ladies was the only option. All i can say is that my wife was right! The only working toilet was a disgrace. Urine soaked seat, and urine soaked floor and unpleasent odour. Not to mention the toilet is raised on a plinth which is shoddy to say the least, never mind being a trip hazard for someone a bit unsteady underfoot. Linoleum floor ripped, wooden lining a mess and decor dirty. Roll of paper simply laid on worktop next to sink for hand drying. All in all, disgraceful for a toilet in a cafe. I am off the opinion, if you run a cafe / restaurant then the two main areas for cleanliness being a must is the kitchen and the toilets. This placd certainly fails miserably on the toilet. Never saw the kitchen but can only hope the level of cleanliness and customer care is better in this department. Unlike Arnie, doubt we will be back!! As noted, food was fine.

This pub is truly a cornerstone of any visit to St. Andrews. You can not beat its location, especially the small patio, and the atmosphere is so golfer-friendly I can't imagine a more golf-centric pub anywhere in the world. A good selection of beers and OK, but not the best, service. Sadly, the food was terrible. My first order, the mac and cheese, was so bad I had to return it. I then asked for the chicken baguette. It was terrible too. Sadly, the menu does not have much traditional Scottish pub fare, which is what one might expect when you are 100 yards from the Old Course.

Sorry I didn’t catch the girls name who was working yesterday 7/4/25 but she showed unbelievable composure in what looked like an understaffed shop for the amount of customers that were lined outside the door. Felt sorry for her but her service was outstanding. Great icecream too , highly recommend but please give the girl a pay rise as she’s doing the job of 2!

Lovely little cafe! Gorgeous toasties and the coffee was great with good dairy alternatives. Ideal location. Would highly recommend.

What a lovely fresh breakfast! Lovely warm welcome as we entered. The lady even allowed me to charge my phone as it out of charge. Please visit if you go to Mull.

Lovely cafe. Excellent staff, homemade food and lots of seating. The toasted coronation chicken sandwich and cappuccino was lovely.

Das Empire State Coffee ist eine sehr empfehlenswerte Adresse fuer Fruehstueck sowie auch Kaffee und Kuchen. Das Empire State Coffee befindet sich nur wenige Schritte vom Bahnhof entfernt, ganz in der Naehe der Innenstadt. Das Personal war sehr nett und freundlich sowie auch hilfsbereit. Es gibt sehr schoene Sitzgelegenheiten im Cafe sowie auch im Tiefgeschoss. Das Cafe oeffnet bereits um 7.30 Uhr und serviert leckere, belegte Baguettes sowie auch Kuchen und Torten. Das Angebot wird abgerundet durch verschiedene Kaffee-Sorten, Kakao, Softdrinks sowie auch verschiedene Shakes. Kreditkartenzahlung ist auch moeglich. Brot und Broetchen sind auch erhaeltlich. Ich habe dort mehrmals gefruehstueckt und am Nachmittag Kaffee und Kuchen bestellt. Eine sehr empfehlenswerte Adresse in Dundee!

Visited for lunch with kids, good options on the menu for adults and children - food we ordered was very excellent. Provided pencils and colouring books to keep the kids occupied. They also provided gluten free options and obviously had understanding of the issues as one of our group had celiac disease which was reassuring. Service was excellent and friendly staff - definitely recommended.

Was as good as promised! Very clean, cheery, and comfortable interior to have breakfast in, lots of great food, pastries and coffees, perfect 👍

Every time we visit Ferry Den the kids love a hot dog and a slushie. The service is great and the staff are friendly.

For a bit of me time! I come here for a cuppa and treats in the form of yarn and cake! There is plenty of choice in both making decisions difficult, but there is always friendly help at hand. I really can recommend the cherry and coconut scones and rocky road... both the best I have ever had.

Had a lovely surprise delivery today of grazing platter and cakes for a birthday treat . Absolutely amazing . Everything was super tasty and presented beautifully.

Thankfully the pizza was very good as the service wasn't. Employee behind the counter shouted at me "Menu is on counter then order online". I said "But I'm here". Surely I don't have to order on my phone while standing at the counter? What he meant was order on the touch screen. My order was easy as I only wanted one pizza but as I stood trying to figure out the screen another employee stood behind it staring at me. Once I'd paid, my order printed out and he grabbed it to take to the kitchen. Wouldn't it be easier just to ask what I wanted? I only had to wait for 10 minutes then he shouted "Pizza", threw it on the counter and turned away. I stood for a moment to say thank you but eventually gave up and left. Won't be back
