Good coffee, good tattie scones, other breakfast items were good, too. Our waitress was super friendly and gave us some great suggestions for things to do around town.

Stopped off at the outside seating for lunch. The ham and cheese ultimate toastie with the chilli jam was excellent served with crisps and side salad. Egg mayonnaise sandwich was equally good. Good sized cappuccino coffees.

We had soup and sandwiches & a panini and all were superb. Lovely welcoming staff . We will definitely be back there again.

Really impressed with the coffee and it's a very popular and busy place. Lovely food but a tad on the expensive side for what it is and what's on offer but very tasty and filling.

The drinks menu is creative and extensive. Something for everyone. Our server explained the concept of the menu. The key is to look at hints chart: if you like 'this type of drink' try 'this' here. I chose Cheerful. It blew me away. I am not usually a whiskey fan, but it gave a kick to the champagne and the balsamic gave a depth of flavour unique to what I have ever had before. Definitely worth a stop. The bar is gorgeous.

Nos encontramos con Café Byzantium cuando nos alojamos en un be&be cercano el año pasado y terminamos volviendo por dos noches de tres, y luego hicimos lo mismo de nuevo este año - de hecho habríamos comido allí las tres noches, pero están cerrados un lunes! Simplemente nos encanta este lugar, el personal es muy amable y tuvimos una charla encantadora con la dueña y su hijo. ¡El pollo a la parrilla va a morir y sospecho que volveremos otra vez!

Our family party of 10 had a most memorable dinner this evening. Excellent-quality local food cooked to perfection. I had a pressed oxtail dish which was the most flavoursome beef dish I can remember. Superb. Thanks to all involved.

Afternoon tea cannot be faulted, beautifully set out, tasty, fresh and generous portions. I only have one thing which is negative, the place is quite congested and it was very warm, it’s like there’s no air conditioning. I felt uncomfortable. I would definitely recommend going here, you will certainly not be disappointed. Will definitely be going back.

Absolutely delicious food, clearly made by talented people. Really efficient, friendly staff, and dog friendly! 10/10!

Stopped of at " THE POTTERY SHOP " Cafe for a bowl of soup on our drive home from Dunoon to Dunfermline. What a gem of a cafe. My husband chose home made tomato soup with a generous portion of bread & butter ( £6 ) I couldn't resist ordering home made macaroni cheese & a side of the best home made proper chips I have tasted since I was a child. ( none of the usual freezer to fryer chips ). Mac & cheese was SO deliciously cheesy , creamy & scrumptious. It was served with a lovely greek style chunky salad of cucumber, fresh tomato, red pepper and red onion. The cakes available were all home made and looked delicious. I was just too full to eat one. I wish I had thought to take photos to add to this review. We were so delighted with our lunch, the cafe and the owner. Not to forget the pottery , jewellery, art work and cards available. We don't drive this road often....but I will definitely return in future. In fact the owner says that they also serve food some evenings. Cafe has only been under his management for 8 months. Popped in for a bite to eat and hot drink. Lovely warm welcome, dog friendly, small basic food menu but delicious all the same. Fab cakes. Would come again!

Popped in here for lunch with my wife and her mother. On entering, we were greeted by a smiling Amy, who welcomed us in. I proceeded to order the soup and egg mayonnaise toastie, with a Mocha and white chocolate caramel slice. All were fantastically tasty, especially the soup, which was very thick pea and ham, and piping hot, 11 out of 10😋My mother in law opted for a Latte, which she thoroughly enjoyed. My wife had tea, which was made with leaves, and a chocolate slice, which she enjoyed immensely. She also had a latte, which she also enjoyed. I had another mocha. The premises were welcoming, spotlessly clean, prices were unbelievably cheap. I can also honestly say that the service and banter from Amy, and Megan, Niece and Auntie, was tremendous. I would thoroughly recommend this place, and will be back in the near future.

Super cafe, easy to find on the main drive through Alva. Great food from an extensive menu and unmatched Lucaffe coffee with other beverages available. Ambience just right. Fast service and very friendly staff all contribute to this very popular cafe. We will be back.

Opté por el desayuno vegano, pero pedí añadir un huevo escalfado. ¡No hay problema! Precioso aguacate fresco, generoso houmous, sabrosos haggis vegetales y salchichas y el huevo se cocinó a la perfección. Mi compañero disfrutó de sus salchichas vegetales desayuno bap. Prepárenos para un día explorando el castillo de Doune y Dumblane antes de regresar a Stirling. El amable servicio del personal hizo de este un buen comienzo del día. Gracias Vera.
