No71 Coffee House & Bistro in Clackmannanshire

Super cafe, easy to find on the main drive through Alva. Great food from an extensive menu and unmatched Lucaffe coffee with other beverages available. Ambience just right. Fast service and very friendly staff all contribute to this very popular cafe. We will be back.

My son and I came here after school as he wanted a milkshake. I myself had a coffee which was very good. The milkshake cost £1.00 which consisted of a small portion of milk shake syrup and the rest milk, which was very watery in a 200ml glass! A lot of money for a dash of syrup and milk. A milkshake should be thicker and creamy they surely must know this?! The place over all is pleasent enough but the milkshakes are not appealing and over priced especially for a child!

Great food, very friendly service, nothing is too much bother for this lovely couple I'm on Slimming World and Carolyn makes me healthy options when I ask. The home made soup is to die for, just like my Mum and Gran used to make it.

Friendly attentive wee cafe where a couple provided very good homely fare. Excellent lentil soup although disappointed vegetarian had no hot soup option as they had used ham stock! Fine baked tatties toasties rolls etc. 99% cakes like lemon drizzle home cooked.

Best wee coffee shop around, I am a regular visitor to this place and carolyn and her staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food is always fresh and tasty and I have never been disappointed. The bacon rolls are the best I have had anywhere, done to perfection. Well worth a visit.

We were accommodated even though it was 5 minutes before she stopped serving lunch. Had the cheese and pickle sandwich and OH had the bacon cheese burger and a can of San Pellegrino. Food were very tasty and freshly made. Chicken noodle soup was also nice but maybe it was on its last leg because there was hardly any chicken there. I didn't mind at all. Bill was less than £15. Overall a well appreciated respite from a very long tiring day.

I called in here on a Sunday lunchtime after walking in Alva Glen and opted for the ham and cheese croissant, which was on the specials board. It was a generous portion with plenty ham and cheese, and there was plenty salad garnish around it. My only quibble is that I had expected it would come hot. That would have made such a difference. I had a coffee and piece of cake afterwards which was very tasty. It's a nice little place.

Best chicken noodle soup ever. A great wee place to stop if you're cycling along the hillfoots. Always made to feel welcome here.

Great food and good staff. Fresh and made there and the cakes are nice as well. Well worth a stop if you are cycling through.

We had a very nice lunch of soup and toasted sandwiches here. The coffee house is small but the food is very good and the decor is nice. Worth a visit if in Alva.

Popped in to this little Bistro for a quick lunch with my husband. Great menu choice and very friendly. I can recommend the Toscana with chicken! It was beautiful and all freshly made, very well presented.Would definitely recommend.

Lovely welcome. We put our bikes round the back as usual, the heater was put on to let us dry out, service was prompt and friendly and the food was good. All boxes ticked yet again!

Had a lovely lunch in here a few weeks ago. Food was good and homemade and the scones were delicious. Lovely couple run it and appear to do all the baking and cooking themselves. The atmosphere is relaxed and seats are comfy.

We headed in mid cycle and were made to feel most welcome, told we could put our bikes safely round the back etc. We were allowed to pay separately. Great bacon roll and cuppa.

Very friendly staff. Good quality coffee Cappucino was perfect. Selection of cakes etc we chose lemon and lime drizzle cake. Handy location on main shopping street.

In terms of value for money you cannot fault the No71 Coffee House; portion sizes are fair to generous and everything we had was very tasty. I had lentil soup followed by the club sandwich (with side salad and coleslaw) and was as close as I could be to beaten. Alison had a tuna mayo wrap which came with a side salad and coleslaw. My mocha and Alison's white hot chocolate were both extremely good also. The service was also spot on, clearly there is plenty of "banter" between the staff and locals (who clearly use this venue a lot) but we were very well looked after and even asked what brought us to Alva today, so a big thank you to Marge (front of house) and Sarah (kitchen) [apologies if I got your names wrong] for a good job! Alison used the loo which was clean (if on the small side). Useful place to know, we will use them again.

My friends and I meet here every Tuesday morning It started of with just a coffee now most of us wait and have a light lunch .The food is delicious and all homemade although I have to say my healthy eating plan does not allow me to taste the beautiful home baking .The Tuesday staff are very friendly and we share a lot of good natured banter,which is why this local coffee shop is full of regular customers .So thanks Sarah and Madge

I work down the road from No71 so I go up to get lunch, everything I have had has been brilliant. The cakes are amazing too! Staff are very friendly & helpful.

No71 Coffee House and Bistro is in the town I live, you are always made welcome the Breakfast and other Meals are very good and the cakes are made in house and are excellent. All in all you won't disappointed.

Visited for tea and carrot cake. Carrot cake was delicious. On second visit had white hot chocolate. This is a must for all hot chocolate fans.

I eat here twice a week for lunch. The menu is always changing with daily specials, and delicious fresh, good quality food. Would thoroughly recommend.

The small coffee house has a limited menu, but offers enough variety. It doesn't have a lot of seating, but takes reservations and was busy.I ordered egg mayonnaise sandwiches, side salad and a hot chocolate drink.The sandwich was hugh, the filling was delicious and creamy, it came with coleslaw. The coleslaw was a bit vinegary, but when I added some mayonnaise to it, it was really nice.The side salad could of had a bit more of tomatoes and cucumber and a dressing, it was all leaves. I asked if I could have a dressing and was given a choice, I loved the balsamic dressing I ordered.The hot chocolate was really tasty, it had cream and marshmallows in a tall glass.Overall it had a homey atmosphere, friendly staff and the food quality was nice.

As a hot drink lover, I find it hard to find a place that serves great coffee and hot chocolates for a decent price. Unfortunately big chains like Starbucks and Costa just don't seem to always get it right and over charge beyond belief! Fortunately if you live in Alva, you can go to a place that does! This place is cozy, friendly and serves great food and drinks! It's a great place to catch up with friends, or grab a coffee. Plus, they have free WiFi, so what more do you want? Fantastic place.

A small cafe on a through road. Ideal for stop off coffee. Reasonable menu.Sandwiches were fresh. Cake was tasty.Good value for money.

Having purchased a groupon deal for four for the huge sum (sarcasm) of £7 we weren't expecting much , were we surprised , lovely fresh made sandwiches on decent bread ! side salad and coleslaw and amazing latte ! As only three of us went they gave us an extra drink and cake to take away ( homemade Jaffa cake cheesecake ) as lunch was so good and massive cake is now in the fridge for later . We Will be back , might even take my other daughter and let her try their bubble tea ( lady let us try lets just say . Different ! )

Lovely food and great atmosphere. The place was decorated really spookily for Halloween which our little boy loved. The staff, Madge and Sarah, were very cheery and welcoming and made sure everything was ok for us. The coffee was amazing too. Will definitely be back.

Wow! For using a groupon voucher, we were surprised with what we got! The sandwiches were so fresh and full of tasty fillings (we had a chicken and bacon one and a chicken tikka one) and came with some salad and coleslaw. Our drinks were really good too, I ordered a hot chocolate which came with cream and marshmallows, yum! For paying only £4 for the voucher we definitely got a bargain! Prices on the menu were very reasonable. Will be returning and recommending!Also, if you are a big Halloween fan then you'll love it, the place is done up amazingly for Halloween, lots of decorations and time spent to make it look spooky!

Had ham salad sandwich which was packed full served with side salad and coleslaw .Followed by chocolate fudge cake and coffee. Coffee was lovely and hot not like some places and cake was very fresh.Can't fault service or food in anyway and all very reasonably priced, worth a visit if you are in the area.

I came here with my Mum as we had a Groupon to use. We had 2 bottles of coke (nice change from cans)! Plus, 1 tuna sandwich and 1 cheese and ham sandwich. Served with a nice side salad and amazing coleslaw. Fillings were plentiful. The cakes looked good too but we were just too full. Not a huge menu but a really good selection and variety none the less. Friendly, hospital staff. Our first visit but would come back if in the area for sure!

This little café has a nice friendly atmosphere. It's pretty small but that just makes it cosy! It seems really popular and was thronged at lunchtime which is a good sign but I recommend turning up a little earlier at 12. There is a decent selection of food - it's not vast but its really good food. The cakes are to die for. The service is super friendly and they make sure your visit is a good one.

Bought a groupon for myself, husband and 2 daughters. We all have a hot drink (the white choc mocha was amazing) and a sandwich with our groupon. I also bought us all cakes and they were all delicious and reasonably priced too. Was lovely friendly place to spend a wet afternoon.

Visited yesterday with my 5 year old son. We found staff to be very welcoming. Food was lovely and my son very much enjoyed the millionaires shortbread. will definately return soon. thank you !

Stopped in at No 71 today for lunch while out on a cycle run. Food very fresh and delicious. I had chicken and bacon sandwich, served with salad and coleslaw . Also carrot cake was one of the best I've had. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will certainly be back.

I visited No71 for the first time today and it was fantastic!The prices were great and I had the best potato and leek soup I have ever tasted!Madge and Karen were amazing hosts and gave us fantastic service (and lunch). Would love to visit again in future, if passing by :-)

Visited today and was amazed at the lovely friendly staff and excellent food. Prices very reasonable. Had coffee and a sandwich. Very large portion and coffee was lovely too. Staff very friendly and helpful. Disabled friendly for wheelchair access. Toilets kept clean too. Great location with lovely scenery. Disabled parking available outside shops next door a few shops along. Will be back again. Thumbs up to the hardworking staff making this a warm and friendly bistro. WiFi available too. Went to Sterling Mills shopping centre only 5 min drive from bistro with loads of bargain designer outlet shops. Also plenty shops and walks nearby bistro. So give this excellent Bistro a try and you won't be disappointed.

This is a lovely little cafe on the main street in Alva. I recommend you try it. We had delicious sandwiches with the tastiest homemade coleslaw. Good choice of fillings and very reasonable prices. Staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Great breakfast made fresh good choice too. Omelette to kill for. Sausage Rolls with onions are the best by far.HP sauce on offer too. Definitely recommend this.

Recently in there and got charged £5.50 for 2 potato scones and scrambled egg that a chick would have produced. I did get a refund, but he seems to make the prices up as he goes along. Not a way to run a business. Wont be back

Brilliant little find right on our doorstep, from the friendly staff to the freshly baked cakes nothing is a trouble for this little shop. Every need is catered for and although there me be a wait as it does get busy and everything is cooked from fresh so tastes like real home cooked food. The full Scottish breakfast is by far the best I have ever had, would defiantly recommend

Well, where do I start?First time in this bistro and first time using a Groupon voucher in this Bistro. Small place but ok. When I explained that we were using a Groupon voucher the young girl serving said that was ok, so we ordered our sandwich and drinks which were fine. Then I asked for a fruit scone at the counter. The young girl did say that anything extra was not covered by the Groupon voucher and we both said we understood we pay for anything else ordered. A couple of minutes later the same young girl came up to me and said we have fruit, cherry, and plain scones. I said I had asked for a fruit one,"oh" she said. She returned a couple of minutes later with a cherry scone. I said to her that I asked for a fruit one. "oh" she said then returned with a fruit scone ( not the nicest scone I have to say ) my partner ordered a meringue which she enjoyed. However, the sting in the tail was when my partner went to pay for the extras which was a fruit scone and a meringue. The same young girl said to my partner that will be £6.90. When I heard this I said "How much?" As we were getting ready to leave a lady from the kitchen came out and apologised saying we had been overcharged and gave us back the change. The young girl had not made sure the till was at zero before ringing up the bill. In my view this young girl clearly was not with it. Both with the scone situation and the bill! If this place wants to keep customers coming back it will clearly have to up the anti quite a bit.

Had coffee and scones before heading up into Ochil hills. They also offer cooked breakfasts. The food and standard of service was excellent and also reasonably priced. The café is in the main street which can be difficult for parking but there are plenty of side streets nearby to park.

Been in a few times for coffee & food, can't be beaten for quality fresh delicious food every time. The staff are fantastic always friendly and very welcoming, I have also been in with my children and nothing is to much trouble. Would definitely recommend. X
