Food and service is always superb...Never had a bad meal yet.

Went to the royal oak on weds 28th Nov for dinner. A lovely place to eat. We had the steak pie and braveheart burger and a bottle of wine. Food was, as usual fantastic and all in with bottle of wine came to £46. Fantastic food, service and pricing

Absolutely brilliant Sunday carvery buffet eat as much as you want. Four of us went and with drinks 2large plates each and 4 sweets the Bill came to 88 pounds outstanding value and brilliant food.

Went to the quiz night on Thursday nights. Very good atmosphere. The was a football match on before the quiz which made it busy but it quietened down after this . Longest wait to get a drink was about 2 minutes but this was due to another staff member having to briefly go away

Just went for a meal as it was our anniversary didn't book table but got in no problem ,food was delicious I had chicken bacon leek pie chips and veg ,man had gammon steak chips pineapple egg peas loved it too would def recommend will be back ,never had a sweet not like us lol 😋

Visit regularly, only downfall is the bar side is quite narrow so on a busy weekend it's hard to move it gets so busy. Food is always amazing no matter what you order and portion sizes are huge. Prices for food and drink is more than reasonable as well.

Went here during our Scottish vacation and loved it. Not only an original Scottish pub that is very beautiful, but also an excellent restaurant with delicious food. The service was super nice and no waiting time. It's definitely recommended and if I'm here again I'll come back!

My wife and I made a trip specifically to Alloa from Dunfermline to the Royal Oak for lunch having used it on many previous occasions. The steak pie and chicken and leek pie were delicious. We had the pensioner portions which were adequate and the service from the waitress was top class.

Great options for Lunch including set price menu and senior option also.

Went for the Sunday Cavery, incredible value for money. So much food and EVERYTHING I tasted was delicious. I didn't not need a starter, but ordered one anyway 🤣🤣 but I wouldn't order one again as the carvery was enough!!

Very old building. Stairs very difficult to get up as narrow. Not good if you have mobility issues

Went to see comedy show. First time there great staff food looked great especially dirty chips. Great selection of beers and wines.

My husband and I went here for his birthday meal this evening (Thursday). The staff were really nice and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the portions were really large (including the Seniors Menu). Definitely recommended.

We booked two tickets to see david bowie tribute band in alloa town hall on the 4th May 24. i did notice there was no seat number but thought first come first seat so we arrived at door opening time of 1900. much to my dismay upon entering there were no seats and the balcony was closed which is all seated. i have COPD and an athritic hip so i need a seat. on approachibg security we were given one chair. there were at least 10 people looking for chairs. david bowie fans of when he first started in the 60s are are now well into their 60s so need support. when quizzing the caretaker he said it was a heakth anf safety thing beteen the council and the Royal Oak. Isent a message to the royal oak asking for an explanation............ quess what no reply. They have my 40 quid so they sre happy. Very poor service and the band was minging.

Had the Carvery / Buffet on Sunday 5th May 2024. Our first time here for the 4 of us, in around 20 years! The Carvery is served upstairs in a function room. The room is nothing special, but the food on the buffet / carvery is outstanding! Starters were nothing special and we wouldn't bother having a starter next time. Desserts much the same - I wouldn't bother, although the coffee was very good. The carvery and the buffet is amazing! ... and you can go up as often as you want! 4 types of meat served to you by the chef - roast beef, roast pork, roast turkey and roast ham (like gammon). All the meats were beautifully cooked, really tender and delicious. Then a help-yourself selection of vegetables, potatoes and extras - mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, sweet potato mash, carrots, brussel sprouts, red cabbage, parsnips, brocolli, cauliflower cheese, steak pie, macaroni cheese, yorkshire puddings, lorne sausage, gravy, peppercorn sauce, - an amazing array of delicious food! The chefs who prepare all of this should be well proud of themselves - it's outstanding and all served piping hot. The best things were the turkey, the pork, the cauliflower cheese, the red cabbage, and the gravy. The worst things were the yorkshire puddings - not so good. Overall, this is amazing value for money (the carvery without starter and dessert is just £16.95) and a really lovely meal to have on a Sunday. Well done Royal Oak - we'll definitely be back.

Went for a carvery on a Sunday. Let me start by saying the food was actually really decent. I would go back for the food. The service on the other hand although polite was just way too slow. We actually had to go and get someone so we could order a dessert nearly 30 minutes after finishing our carvery and in the 2 hours we were there only managed to order 2 drinks. The meat and sides at the carvery were nice and you got plenty. The chef cut the meats well and gave you as much as you wanted which was really good. The crispy potato skin started was actually very very good.

Great place for pub food, portions are large so you can always ask for smaller if available

Sadly the service wasn't great. After taking our orders and writing them down. They delivered my three friends meals and not mine, 10mins later they realised I was still waiting?? Then came up and asked what I had ordered?? I then had to wait some time before my food finally arrived and by that time my friends food was cold, sadly.

Went to try the carvery as had read great reviews about it. The food was A+ roast beef and all the trimmings, so tasty, great service and lovely staff. It was extremely busy, which to me shows how good it is. Can't wait to come back.

Carvery is amazing 🤩 great value too. Recommend a visit here. So much choice and something for everyone. Traditional carvery and also steak pie and pasta dishes available on the carvery menu. Really good food.

A couple of weeks ago I went to a Sunday carvery with Stephen Donaldson and Morgan his fiancée I would thoroughly recommend it the food was great the service was second to none.

We had heard a lot of good things about this place so decided to give it a try. Food was really nice but if I had to be picky I'd say the chicken pakora was very chewy and quite tough. Apart from that the staff who dealt with us were lovely. There was about 8-10 flies above the doorway to the bar area but that's not the staff or hotels fault. It could get annoying depending where you sit tho.

We used the Royal Oak Alloa mobile bar for our wedding Venue. The owners and staff were fantastic, plenty of choice of drinks, a great setup, plenty staff on the night, all our guests got a great service. Prices were very reasonable aswell. Highly recommended!! Stayed for one night. All the staff were friendly and very helpful however, the bedroom needs a deep clean - disappointing.

Booked a table for the carvery today after hearing great reviews...definitely not disappointed, great selection of meat and vegetables to choose from and all tasted amazing. Great service as well, we will be back (now in a food coma) 😉

I'm part of quite a large family so 8 of us (3 kids and 5 adults) arrived here without booking and without much of a problem we were given comfortable seats. We all got the carvery and the man who carved and served our meat upstairs had a lot of banter and gave us great portions. The vegetables and gravy were fantastic too! The cauliflower cheese wasn't the best unfortunately. We got dessert afterwards, the Oreo Sundae was brilliant and there was lots of whipped cream and chocolate sauce. The drinks were as expected for any restaurant. Overall, service was quick, the servers were lovely and polite, the food was really nice and the restaurant is a lovely place to take the family on the weekends. I would highly recommend this place.

Staff brilliant as ever food great but down side of all resturant at this time bit more expensive as last time i was at royal oak .

The service was very poor,some people were finished their main before others had them.
