This is a great family run restaurant, you always receive and warm and friendly greeting. I visited here twice during April for lunch, once with friends and once with family. The service is always attentive and friendly. The lunch menu is a light choice menu which provides an offering to suit anyone. The food is delicious too. I always enjoy the mezzi pot and friends tried the burgers, pizza and the wrap. All agreed the food was fresh and tasty. The kids on the second visit enjoyed their lunch, ending with ice cream for desert with no complaints from either of them (the flake in the ice cream was a lovely touch). Great for families and good location if you want to use the park or have a stroll around the reservoir. Well worth a visit.

Staff were great and very helpful and the food was brilliant. The meme lot was out of this world. I would highly recommend a visit as it is fantastic value for money and excellent quality.

Indoor and outdoor seating. My brother had a burger and chips, which was good but boring, the rest of us had mezi pots which were fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would certainly visit again. The park is great too.

Following our excellent visit a few weeks ago, my wife and I popped in here on a Sunday evening without a booking. We received a lovely warm greeting and shown to a table. The service was again, very good, attentive and the food was just excellent and tasty. We decided to have the Mezzo Starter between us which had a great selection and more than enough for us to share. For our mains we chose Iskenderoni for me and the Chicken Sheesh for my wife . Both meals were superb and the portion size was extremely good. The mains came with sauce, rice and salad. We can't wait to visit again. I highly recommend this restaurant and encourage you to visit, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

What a fabulous place to eat! Tucked away in Monikie Country Park, just outside Dundee, the Cafe Byzantium is truly one of Scotland's hidden gems, The food is the middle east at it's best, freshly cooked to order and served with a smile. i thoroughly recommend that you make the effort to visit - sat nav works! A lovely find - we will be back!

First time at monikie park for a few years. Lovely walks with the dog. Went to the cafe as it’s advertised as dog friendly. I sat in the covered seating area outside. There were 4 other people ,in the area, having tea and coffee. Wasn’t sure if it was table service and after waiting for 10 minutes I went to ask whether it was or you ordered inside? The lady said someone would come out, and after another 10 minutes wait, someone came out with a lunch menu. Sadly after 15 minutes wait, I gave up waiting as no one had appeared to take my order. The menu looked lovely as well, but the slow service would put me off returning.

We decided on eating out on Sunday evening and thought we would try Byzantium for a change. I contacted the restaurant to check availability and the member of staff was extremely helpful, accepted our late booking and the telephone experience was warm and friendly. There was four of us and we arrived at the restaurant, receiving a large smile and warm friendly greeting from the member of staff. We ere quickly shown to our table and provided with menus and advice about the 'special' on offer. This tuned out to be the mixed mezze, consisting os a mezze starter and a mixed grill main for two. We all decided to try the special and were not disappointed. The food was just superb. Tasty, ample portion size and this special gave each of us the opportunity to try different dishes which were available on the menu. The special came with Byzantium special sauce, which was delicious, salad and rice. The owner very kindly offered as much extra rice and sauce as we needed. I can honestly say, everyone agreed this was possibly the best meal we had enjoyed for quite some time. I would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. The location is lovely, set within Monikie Country park where there are some nice walks to enjoy either before or after your meal. The restaurant is smart, clean, comfortable and inviting. The food offering is varied and they also offer a lunch menu and pizzas. The staff and owner were extremely attentive and the service first class. We could not fault the food and can't wait until we return.

A big thanks to Renia & her team for hosting an amazing surprise party for mum's 70th. The venue really suits to a private hire as it feels intimate but also you can host a good number inside. Also in warmer weather there is outdoor space available. As our local village restaurant, we had already sampled the food and warm customer service on many an occasion. This was so reassuring to me when planning the event and the meal exceeded expectations (with many a new customer found i believe). The communication and personal care & touches from the team definitely contributed to the smooth running of the night. And they were very receptive to any suggestions or requests from my side. Everyone left with happy bellies & happy memories. All in all a brilliant option as a private hire, as well as a cheeky takeaway or meal out with family & friends. Thank you @cafebyzantium. Having been alerted to Café Byzantium reopening for the season and wanting to expand on the usual suspects in Dundee City and Broughty Ferry, we took a spin out to Monikie Park in the afternoon and booked a table in person, before eating later on Saturday evening the 25th of March. The restaurant is spacious, well laid out and bright, with a lovely ambiance. We were warmly welcomed by the owners, who seemed pleased to see us and checked back with us to see if we were enjoying the food and experience, throughout the meal. We settled on starters of Mezze and King Prawn. Both dishes were fantastic, with the garlic and spices really standing out in the Prawn dish. The main courses chosen were Iskenderoni and Gambaroni and these were both brilliant as well. So tasty and full of flavour. All in all, it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long long time and they deserve to be full every sitting, such is the quality of their food and the charming feel of the restaurant. If you haven’t been yet, get out to see what you’ve been missing.

Went on the hunt for Mediterranean food and was pleased with what was offered at this vibrant and hospitable cafe. Me and my friends throughly enjoyed our meal and were glad of choosing this place for a quick catch up.

We were over the country park for a walk and spotted there was a restaurant. We took a walk around the reservoir to build up our appetite and then headed over here for some food. Husband ordered the Greek Salad with a bowl of chips which he said was delicious. I ordered an aubergine with cheese dish which was very nice also. Lots of greek style dishes on offer. Great coffee too

Cafe Byzantium catered our wedding and couldn't have been more amazing. They worked with us in the weeks leading up to the day and went above and beyond to cater not just the reception meal, but post-ceremony mezze to have in the garden with a glass of champagne. Big shoutout to Fatin and Rania for the superb communication, incredible food, flexibility and for being so lovely to our guests on the day. Our friends and family could not stop talking about how great the food was - many said it was the best wedding food they've ever had (and we might sound biased, but we agree - it was delicious and there was so much variety). Byzantium even put on a bar for us, and let me say this - we got married in a village hall and there were no facilities whatsoever. Byzantium worked around this, brought their own decorations and the bar looked incredible (and really fit in with our aesthetic theme). We could not recommend them enough - they were everything we hoped for and more.
