Very tasty lunch of Mac cheese with bacon. Freshly made....loads of lovely cheesy sauce. Service good, busy with lovely welcoming atmosphere. Bonus...one of the customers was Jules from Escape to the Country and also Kaye Adams. Tempted but didn't ask for a selfie🤣🤣

Popped in for breakfast on way home from a glamping break at The Fishing Hut, Ballochneck. I had a 5 item plate and hubby had just the 7!! Both freshly cooked and delicious. We couldn't leave without a small purchase from the selection of pottery on sale and of course a huge slab of homemade Millionaires shortbread to go. Both waitress and owner made us feel very welcome. Would recommend you visit soon.

On our way to Glasgow we descided to stop at the Pottery Shop for just a coffee. But when we entered the shop, they just pulled the fresh cakes and brownies out. The smell was so tempting we had to try and it didn't disappoint us. The staff was so friendly and I loved the interieur. I really recommend this place.

We came across this wonderful little cafe when passing through on way back home from a trip to Kintyre. We were hungry so parked up and went in. This is a real gem of a cafe. It has such a welcoming, friendly vibe, due to the way the staff ( and owner) treat you. It’s the little details that count. I was with my elderly parents and we all agreed that we wished this cafe could be in our home town!! The food was fantastic and plentiful. The display of local artists work for sale also makes it a wonderful place to browse and admire the work on display. Next time we are in the area we will most definitely return. Thankyou so much for all your hospitality and kindness.

Lovely vibe very cozy and staff welcoming and friendly! Feels like u have popped to a friends house for a visit. I had a delicious glutenfree carrot cake and a flat white which was nice a wee bit more practice on the milk and presentation but was not burnt and had good foundations. (I’m a nz coffee snob tho) will happily be back!!

Had a lovely visit to the coffee kiln today. The new owner is lovely and the food we had was delicious. I had read a few reviews that were pretty awful but thought I would see for myself. It looks like these reviews have been left by friends of the previous tenant, as they name them. My experience is that the new owner bakes everything fresh and nothing is to much hassle for her. Can't wait to return.

I came here to pass the time as an appointment was late, the staff were lovely. But the food was awful. It’s like it was taken on by someone with absolutely no experience at all! Had a roll on bacon and the roll was so dry with cheap butter. Cheap teabags. Don’t know if it’s a supplier issue or if they shop via supermarkets and that’s the problem. Because it definitely doesn’t taste like supplier quality food. The menu is simply typed up..No cafe setting menu. It’s like eating in a place that’s opened on a whim…Sheena is lovely and so are staff but it’s not uptoo standard of Jillian and Neil I think her husband was called. Mixed reviews about the cakes as fifteen was lovely but the wagon wheel slice was wrapped in a napkin so couldn’t even eat it. Shortbread a little dry (Went through college in my 20/30s as a baker!) and it’s no where near even National qualification level never mind cafe level. Lovely people just not in the right game. Also always empty I like atmosphere in cafes.

Visited today, first time under new management. Very small menu, that’s fine, but poor quality. Toastie was wet, only served with a few crisps and minuscule tub of coleslaw so poor presentation. Milk jug had two chips. Need to up the game if locals are required to support this business. The saving grace was the biscoff cake which was awesome.

Such a shame that the cafe is now under new management ....The new cafe team cannot hope to come up to the standard set by by the previous cafe team ... They don't even know how to make a pot of tea .... Unbelievable .. ..Suggestion to the cafe manager ....Use proper tea bags like Tetley,...and put more than one tea bag in the pot .....maybe teach your staff how to make tea .? A poor show and not outstanding in any way

We stopped just by chance for lunch and couldn't have been happier to do so. The Coffee Kiln is excellent with friendly staff and first class home cooked food. They had introduced a new menu the day before and it had plenty of tasty items to choose from. The home made lentil soup was delicious as were all the rolls and bloomer sandwiches. We didn't opt for cakes (no room left) but they looked amazing. The cafe has lots of character and is filled with pottery made by the adjoining potter. Definitely a ten out of ten cafe.

We popped in here for lunch while passing for the first time and were glad we did. The service was good, very quick and efficient, staff were very friendly. There is a good selection on the menu and even a dog menu, which our dogs loved! The soup was delicious and toasties were tasty but a little burnt around the sides so we couldn't even bite into some of them. They have no disabled parking which is disappointing. We will definitely pop in again if passing!

A very poor experience in terms of food quality and service. It certainly didn't live up to it's claim of "equisite dining"...where we would.."Indulge in a culinary journey".(unless the destination was mediocrity). We were there as a group of about 14 in a private room for the xmas menu and we had eaten here the previous year also, when the food was OK, but not great. This year it was much poorer. The scallops were absolutely tiny! The cod was NOT cod, not sure what it was but as someone who has worked in the UK fish industry for many years, it was most definitely not cod. The same happened last year when it was a bass or bream fillet (also called "cod" on the menu) but was quite tasty so I didn't mind so much then. This time it was a fish with quite soft and tasteless flesh. We had to chase some drinks orders several times as they didn't appear, sometimes eventually turning up after about 20 minutes. The sticky toffee pudding was on freezing cold plates, which made the sauce cold and sponge barely warm...just about room temperature. One sticky toffee pudding that was ordered with vegan ice cream didn't appear until we had chased it a couple if times and everyone else had finished. We won't be back next year. Perhaps we should have complained more at the time, but it's supposed to be a fun time, not one when as well as chasing food and drinks, we have to moan about everything and kill the atmosphere.
