Visited you this morning for breakfast. What an absolute delightful exeperience. WE had the biggest welcome from a very lovely young lady think her name was Hattie. She could not have been more attentive, polite and super cheerful. The food was actually the best bacon roll i've had in a long time. The atmosphere was just what we needed to start our day. I live quite far away but that was such a treat I must go back again. Thank you for really making our day.

A great little cafe. The food is good but our regular visit is absolutely made by the staff who are very pleasant and welcoming - a great asset. Only criticism is the occasional presence of someone occupying a table, and at one time conducting job interviews whilst intending customers were turned away. If she was connected to the cafe she should not have been doing this in a public place and to the extent of turning away revenue.

What a lovely little Coffee & Gift Shop we were told about. The staff and owners were absolutely warm and welcoming and are so attentive to you. The place has a variety of small gifts and cards and the bonus is the cosy Coffee Shop tucked away. Plenty of tables. The food is all freshly baked and you have a variety of drinks and home baked cakes. We chose sandwich and soup offer, some of us chose the quiche and salad all prepared fresh and all tastes lovely. Visited this lovely coffee shop again today. Over lockdown period it has been extended so tables are very well spaced out and comfortable. We had delicious freshly made soup followed by tea and cake. We went on Saturday for lunch. Staff were struggling. Customers had been waiting over an hour for their food. Atmosphere therefore was not good. Food itself was well presented and hearty. Young staff despite the pressures were cordial and hard working. Older female member of staff not wearing a proper face covering and not particularly well mannered. I hope organisation of kitchen is improved because it's a nice place.

Visited here with my son, ordered coffee and a fresh apple juice. I’m certainly not tight and happy to pay good money on the right stuff. But we received a small glass of concentrated Tesco apple juice for the advertised ‘fresh apple juice’ and were charged £2 for the pleasure. Our microwaved scone and pancakes took a whopping 20 minutes to be served at a quiet time - it must of been baked fresh and then put in the microwave I guess. Also listened to the lady who appeared to be the manager/owner mocking two young guys who’d asked for a bacon sandwich, for not being open minded enough to look at choices outside of this option as they had no bacon available at breakfast time in a cafe with no savoury breakfast options aside from said bacon sandwich. Will not be back and would be good to see the prices either coincide with the trueoption you offer or the quality of the food and service to improve to justify the prices.

This friendly cafe is well worth a visit any day of the week. All the food is made fresh and lots of the specials are in fact made by members of staff. This is the same as the wonderful cakes. All portions are generous and most things are served with a freshly made salad which is far beyond the standard cafe side salad and worth a trip on its own. The tea and coffee are fresh and again very generous in portion. The staff are friendly and helpful and who will accommodate any customer requirements. I don't get here as often as I would like but if given the choice of cafe, this would be the one I would chose anytime.

I have been visiting this establishment with my Mother on an almost weekly basis since the end of last year (2018). The food and cakes are wonderful and the young ladies who usually serve us when we visit – which is normally on a Saturday morning/lunchtime – are always charming, attentive and extremely helpful. We could not fault the quality of the food or their service. In fact, our experience to date has been so good that my Mother and I are quite happy to undertake the 1 hour round trip from Glasgow that visiting this establishment involves. It has quickly become our favourite place to visit for a morning coffee or early lunch. I am therefore extremely sad to write this less than positive review, which is based on our experience of visiting the establishment at early lunchtime today (Sunday 17 February 2019, 12pm). It concerns the older lady who was serving today. I believe her name is Tracey. My mother and I were just finishing our drinks and food before getting ready to leave, when I took the opportunity to show my Mother a few photos on my phone that I had taken earlier in the week of my cat. We were simply quietly minding our own business. Tracey, who had been standing talking to a customer at the table next to us for at least 5 minutes about what she did on her days off during the week, then hovered around our table before approaching my Mother and me – just as I was about to put my phone away – to say ‘I hope you are not taking pictures. I do not like that kind of thing.’ I was quite taken aback by what she said, and I simply said that I wasn’t, and showed that the camera lens on my phone was obstructed by my phone case, so it would not have been possible to take a photo anyway. She then said ‘Good, I’m glad’, before lifting a plate from the table and walking away. No apology. All of this happened in full view of the other tables in the café, all of whom heard what she said and were now looking at me as if I had been misbehaving in some way. All I had done was show my mother a picture of my cat. It was hugely embarrassing for both my 60 year-old Mother and me. Quite apart from this, the tone with which she spoke to me was abrupt, rude and extremely unprofessional. Not altogether unlike the way a school teacher would speak to a misbehaving 5 year old. I assume also that the waitress felt able to speak to me in this way because I am a young(ish) man who she thought did not know how to behave in an establishment of this kind. Nothing could be further from the truth – I have eaten, visited and worked in some of the most exclusive places in this country. I currently work at the Scottish Parliament and next week I will be having dinner with a former Prime Minister. I know what good customer service looks like, and this waitress’ approach to me today falls short on every possible measure. I have never felt the need to write a review on tripadvisor before, but this experience was humiliating for both my mother and me. As I said earlier, we love this coffee shop and have, until now, thoroughly enjoyed visiting it every weekend. However if this is the level of service that we can expect on future visits, I do not imagine that we will return.

Love the food in here, really tasty soups and a lovely variety of cakes. If you go at the weekend the younger ladies are great, friendly and know how to look after you. If you go during the week and get the two older ladies then you will be very disappointed at their lack of customer care skills. No hello how are you or what would you like? The lady who has served us on 3 occasions walks up with her pad and says nothing, very rude. Not how you treat your customers and old enough to know better.

We went here before and after a trip to Glengoyne distillery. The distillery (that does not have a cafe) is about 5 minutes away by car. This place is attached to an interior accessories shop across the road from a more obvious cafe in a centre. We returned because of the terrific service and really, really good food.We had the coffee cake and the signature apple & cinnamon cake (with ice cream). Both are amongst the best we’ve ever had. Not going into long descriptions, but we will be back here any time we’re in the area - for the cake and the service. Worth noting that everything seemed really good quality, very tasty and well presented by the friendly staff. Even the fruity side salad with our sandwiches was interesting and actually improved the meal rather than just being there. The staff (the Wednesday to Friday ladies) were friendly and helpful. They offered to put our tea in takeaway cups when we were worried about getting to the distillery on time.

Quiche Lorraine and sidesalad good with choice of 3 dressings. Good selection of excellent homemade cakes, date and walnut loaf etc. Would have given 5 stars but could have done with better selection of soft drinks ( ginger beer/ elderflower etc) and also does not have breadth of choice on menu of eg the Oakwood or the now sadly closed Wishing Well but to be fair it is much smaller. Classic hangout and great food I come here with my buddies every couple of weeks to hangout, where the food is great and the staff really look after us. Almost every time I order the chicken gyros, which is a satisfying mix of chicken, chips, sauce and spices. 8/10 I have ordered the double portion once, but honestly it's huge and unless you're super hungry, a single portion is more than enough. My vegan friend swears by the souvlaki
