We chose the buttermilk chicken sandwich for lunch along with some excellent Sauvignon and spent a pleasant lunchtime enjoying the views offered by a window seat The smoky bourbon sauce on the side of our lunches had a great depth of flavour would highly recommend it Staff were most helpful and it was very good value

Visited 3 times during our stay last week. This bar always worked to a high standard but sadly lacked it this time. Customers allowed to walk about without face coverings; Kids allowed in with a football, running about unchallenged; a customer allowed to stand without a face covering at the bar drinking where other customers drinks were being prepared; slow service despite being quiet; and the place needs a good clean. Dust and cobwebs everywhere. This is not the great bar it used to be pre lockdown and needs to be policed and brought back to the high standards it was known for.

The drinks served in this bar were five star quality. The only thing I would say is missing is a little bit of background music.

There is ample amount of parking. It is hard to assess a LHW during these strange covid times. The front entrance has sanitisers and tissue but you are not welcomed by anyone and can come and go as you please. The complex as expected is large and nice to walk around as it was raining outside. We had coffee and cake at the Birnham which is a good well lit garden room. Outside there are tennis courts and falconry section which was interesting to see. We had lunch at the Century bar. The fish finger sandwich £17.50 was nice and so was the duck salad £13. The serving staff were polite and friendly. We did not stay so cannot comment on the rooms. I am sure for golfers this is a must go to place. If we are in the area again we will be sure to visit.

We had evening drinks in the Century Bar during our 4 night stay. Service was good and professional. Good choice of cocktails/wine/beer suited us.,Also had lunch there a few times - once outside on the terrace, which was lovely. Spent time there chilling out, reading books/sketching during a wet day which was very cosy (review from one guest seemed to disapprove of the use of this area for guests to relax in - but there weren’t really any other options/guest lounge areas, and the staff were fine with it and very welcoming). Expect to pay Gleneagles prices - but the staff, presentation, atmosphere, surroundings made it worth in my view.

Yes I know we need to adapt to the new "norm" and we all have to adapt but sitting in this bar this afternoon was more like being in a mess room. Kids with football people playing cards, guests seeking sockets to charge phones!!! Come on Gleneagles this is not the ambience we have grown to love of this bar. Please reassure us that this is not the new "norm" here. And to top it all the service was pretty tardy.

We had drinks before and after a disappointing meal in the Birnam restaurant. Although the drinks are expensive the bar is beautiful and the view through the windows is superb.

Visited here 3 times last week. First class atmosphere and service. Very friendly staff and the manager is a gentleman. Reasonably priced for Gleneagles. Certainly recommend as a walk in visitor or a hotel guest. It doesn't matter as the service is consistently excellent.

Excellent snacks and no shortage of canapés. Children tolerated. Bar prices quite expensive but worth it.

Very relaxed atmosphere in a classy bar. The drinks were a bit on the expensive side but you are paying for the venue and location. The hotel is a resort in itself and well worth a walk around to see what else there is.

Absolutely overun with screaming and badly behaved kids during the day and evening ruined the ambience. Management do nothing to stop badly behaved children or enforce a dress code. After 10pm its a bit better.

We were at Gleneagles for our anniversary dinner so we had lunch in the Century Bar. It was very busy but we got a good table and the service was superb. Great selection of food and great selection of local beer. Reasonably priced. This was a bonus for us as we hadn't used the Century Bar before - but we will again on our next visit.

After a visit to the Mappin & Webb jewellers we decided to nip in here for lunch. There is a number of restaurants at this hotel and the Century Bar offers lighter meals in a more relaxed setting. There is a good choice of burgers / sandwiches that come with fries, at a price that you should expect from this hotel. I notice other TA’s have noted poor service however we certainly had no complaints over this. The beautiful hotel grounds are worth a wander after lunch to help walk off the sandwich and fries.

The staff go the extra mile to ensure your drink is just the way you like it, jelly babies are provided.

The room and decor is classical, considered and tasteful, a most pleasant location for a quiet drink.

I have been coming to Gleneagles for over 15 years and the service has declined steeply in the last couple.

Good food and drinks poor service, we waited 20 mins for the man to come back to take our drink order when it wasnt even busy. Food took time but worth the wait. Staff were chatting at the bar one day and waited to be served again!

Really lovely relaxed vibes and great views of the grounds - the burgers were delicious and the staff are lovely.

What a setting for pre dinner cocktails. Had lovely cocktails here just before dinner and it is a luxury setting well worth dressing for and the staff are equal to the setting.

Just had drinks here before going to eat at another Gleneagles restaurant. Service is spot on, you really feel they are looking after you. Not cheap, but to be expected!

I stopped by here last week for some coffee. It was a lovely day and it was great to relax and watch people play croquet outside. This is a picturesque and first class resort. A must visit!

This is the main bar area in the Gleneagles hotel complex. Table service is friendly and quick which we liked. Comfortable surroundings in which to relax.

We enjoyed a slightly later lunch after we had arrived and checked-in. Busy but welcoming atmosphere, friendly attentive staff. Food was delicious and very large portions - great selection of beers, wines and cocktails to compliment. Lovely lunch.

We love spending time in the Century Bar when we stay at Gleneagles. They have a wide range of seating options, the staff are very attentive and there’s an excellent range of drinks, cocktails and light food during the day. The sandwich range is fantastic.

Very tempting to not move from this location fantastic place to have a drink with exceptional service.

...in fact we did and had a great time. The weather was Scottish so it gave us an excuse to enjoy the new surroundings (re-vamped since our previous visit) which we thought we fantastic. Excellent selection and great service!

Rather glad Room was not quite ready upon our arrival as it gave us the chance to sample lunch in this fabulous comfortable room. Completely delicious, great presentation and lovely service.

Thus bar is just lovely, and a great place to relax. Prices are high but fair enough given the setting.

This room is one of the nicest at the Gleaneagles hotel. One time I had a grilled cheese sandwich, and it was marvelous, the caramelised onions were just that extra touch to bring it to being excellent, another time I had Scottish langoustine there, and they were divine.

Too large and lacking a bar ambience. Does pick up later in the evenings but did not impress me as an iconic establishment it is.

This is the first bar you find on entering Gleneagles Hotel. It's beautifully laid out and furnished with a lovely central island bar. The staff are very welcoming and the drinks are excellent. At £11 for a G&T; is not cheap, but well worth the experience.

We sat at the bar taking a quick pre-dinner drink and watching the barmen mixing drinks for their guests.

This has been revamped (again) and in my view it is not an improvement. It feels less private, the lighting doesn't seem as good and although there is nothing wrong with it I wonder why they tampered with something that was really good before.

We always loved the bar and it only improved with its refurbishment. Happy to spend hours sitting watching the world go by. Selection of food and drink fantastic.

Had a nice glass of wine in the bar prior to dinner. very relaxed atmosphere. Service was very efficient.

I was taken here for a special occasion and we were not disappointed. The venue is extremely scenic and the Century Bar offers fantastic views especially at Christmas when you can see the tree outside. The staff were great and served us quickly. The food was out of this world. It was the greatest burger I have eaten in my entire life!!! It came with delicious chips and refreshing salad. We also had the triple martini. It was 3 different mini martinis. Very instagrammable! It isn't cheap but great for celebrations. Need to find another celebration so I can go back.

The burger was the best we have had but I think your experience varied on which staff you came across. The lady greeting people into the bar unfortunately wasn't there when we arrived. She was cheerily chatting to guests and appeared very helpful to others. We sat at the bar and were ignored for the first 5 minutes until a member of the waiting team noticed and gave us a menu. Barman didn't speak a word to us and our plates were not cleared by the time we had left. Not a bad experience, but not a good one either. Would not make a point of going back.

Warm wel lit, attention to detail, slightly expensive but worth it , site by the coal fires and enjoy life

Popped in here on a road trip and its a special place to see. The grounds are beautiful and views just lovely. We had a burger in the bar which was priced at 20... worth every penny its the best burger I've ever had. Probably an expensive place to spend much time at but nice for a posh lunch.

Over rated and over priced. Open your wallet and you will get an open welcome. Pre dinner drinks could cost you as much as your dinner.

An after dinner cocktail seemed the perfect choice to finish a lovely evening. Great ambience, reasonable prices and fabulous company.

We were very lucky to dine here on more than a couple of occassions. The atmosphere was superb and stylish and the food amazing. In particular the beef burger with seared foie gras.

Stayed here a few weeks ago and stopped off to have a drink before we checked in. The staff who work here are phenomenal and deserve all the credit!

Lovely relaxed room during the day perfect for brunch or tea with ace views, in the evening turns into a chilled pre and post dinner bar with knowledgable bar staff. We tried a fascinating cocktail with a sherry base and naturally stunning selection of whiskies

of all the new cafes and guest rooms that have been added i still prefer the century for morning coffee service is so much better and atmosphere more relaxing and staff are very pleasent without being over the top

... but it can be hit-and-miss with the serving staff.

We enjoyed lunch in the Century Bar and had drinks there several times while at Gleneagles. The service was excellent and so was the food. It was a nice casual place to hang out.

Spent a few nights having a couple of drinks in the bar. Enjoyed the selection of beers and whiskey on offer. Staff very helpful. Prices are on the steep side.

We usually had a cocktail here each night before dinner. The barmen are chatty and helpful. We also had lunch here one day and it was very good.

We had nice pre-dinner drinks at The Century Bar. The room is large with nice views of the grounds and the service was very attentive.

We arrived at Gleneagles too early to check in so decided to go to the The Century Bar for some lunch. We chose a lovely table by the window overlooking the front of the hotel.

We gave our bartender a rough idea of the drink I wanted and he proceeded to assure us it would be good and it was. He tasted as he expertly mixed it what a pro!!!

like the other part of the hotel, the staff is very arrogant and slow, the price are very high, i really would not recommand it

Good service. Open all day. Sundrenched window seats overlook the front courtyard. Rhubarb and custard bon bon's a bonus.

We had pre dinner drinks here- they were fantastic, the bar guys were really helpful, the cocktails were delicious and the service was great. The bar has been done up and it looks beautiful.

Pure elegance day or night. Great for light lunch. Afternoon tea is now served in members lounge, At £35 per head it is worth travelling for!

You don't come to Gleneagles to save money. The bar is very good and the bartenders so everything to make your time enjoyable.

My wife and I had the most amazing time at the hotel, the facilities are amazing, the dining is incredible, the walks around the courses, the scenery and the cheeky 'Halfway House' all an awesome experience, we topped off our stay in The Century Bar with an impromptu whisky masterclass from Tom, Tom has visited nearly every distillery in Scotland, has an amazing memory for facts and specific details that is second to none. Not sure the wife appreciated the whisky as much as me but she certainly enjoyed the stories and theatrics. Thank you all at Gleneagles, you're one of our favourite stops.

We stayed for 3 nights and had very nice relaxing digestif after dinner. Lovely relaxing atmosphere and good service.

I preferred the old bar which has recently been modernised. However I'm sure I will warm to the new layout and style. Nothing else changed other than the aesthetics. Staff attentive and helpful, well mannered and trained to a high standard.

We spent two sessions in this wonderful bar as outside visitors once for pre dinner drinks and a late afternoon tipple on our way back to Duchally nearby. It oozes impeccable style and is still faithful to its 1920's heritage, but it's up to the minute decor is timeless and faultless. The choice of gins is legendary - as are the whiskeys.. It's elegant, relaxed and the service impeccable!

As you entry the main entrance this bar is on the right, a place to meet up with your friends or family, view over the gardens and entrance drive, whilst extensive drinks list food limited choice, better menus in other bars but is part of the Gleneagles expierence

Top quality service. Lovely touch of having wee sweets and nibbles for kids and adults. Club sandwich was very tastey.

It is a great casual option for when staying on site and you don't want to have full-service. The meals are of good quality. The service was great and the 120 different malts dont go to far astray!

We visited here several times at our stay in The Gleneagles Hotel, every time we were seated at a very comfortable table, lovely decor, service was just perfect, polite and quick. We only had drinks here as we were eating in the Strathearn restaurant. My only complaint about this bar is the very subdued lighting, nice atmosphere but makes it difficult to read the bar menu or dinner menu.

We had a few hours to kill on the way back from an impromptu ski trip to Glenshee and thought we'd call in to have a bit of a nosey at the world famous Gleneagles Hotel (and golfing facilities).
