Very nice atmosphere. Friendly service and, above all, the food is super tasty and worth the price. Definitely a recommendation and a very positive surprise on the way back to Edinburgh. For children games inside and a nice playground outside.

Waited over an hour for extremely over priced food. Would have been good to know prior to seating us there was only one chef on.

Went for a family meal had a wee bit of a wait as very busy but boy was it worth waiting on anyone who likes fish you must try the seabas with prawns in Filo pastry absolutely delicious. A lovely experience right on our doorstep

Booked a table for lunch. Great service, lovely food & setting. It was busy & carpark was full so we parked at the village hall.

What a lovely little restaurant this is. Whilst searching online for restaurants near to our holiday cottage, my wife came across Uisge bar and restaurant and, after reading many positive reviews, we decided to book a table. From the moment we arrived we were not disappointed. There was a spacious car park and upon walking inside, we were greeted by extremely friendly and attentive staff. The service and food was excellent throughout. Thank you for such a lovely dining experience.

Bright clean and modern place with free parking lot. The food here is top notch level this isn't just some cafe. Everything was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Chef deserves a pay rise. They provide free complimentary water and a relaxed atmosphere. The Welsh lady serving was an absolute breath of fresh air a massive asset to a good looking and well run place. Bravo.

……but if you’re looking for home-made shortbread, don’t go past here. Request for something small and sweet at the end of another terrific Uisge meal became a bit of a joke but when my 91-year old mother (lives in a local car home) the next day said she had a hankering after some shortbread I went straight back and was provided with a whole batch of their home-made stuff. Just lovely. But it isn’t all about the shortbread - new chef seems to be going great guns and good on him. I had the prosciutto-wrapped hake on sweet potato mash. My sister had the curried monkfish and my brother in law the pork. All fantastic. We had been here the fortnight before in a slightly larger group and I remember having the lamb leg/tagine which was also first class. Have said it many times before but as country folks we are so lucky having this place within walking distance of our house, it matches anything in Perth and further afield. Thanks yet again Uisge.

Been a while since we have had an evening meal but my what a meal absolutely fantastic lamb Tagine was to die for hubby said his sirloin steak was fabby 19 out of 10 yet again

Incredible restaurant in the countryside near Perth. Amazing food and nice atmosphere. Ordered the featherblade of beef, totally recommend.

Service was slow and not as good as usual. They had 2 big Christmas tables going on which looked like the owners colleagues and friends. Consequently we didn’t seem to be much of a priority and attention to detail was lacking. We left a bit disappointed and feeling slightly cheated on this occasion.

As always the welcome was warm. The temperature outside was below freezing, but we were shown to a table by the window. Fortunately the sun was shining so we were not cold. Service was efficient. We were asked for a drinks order within minutes and very shortly thereafter (too shortly) for our food order. Uisge offer both small plates & full meals. Two of us ordered 2 small plates to be served together as a main course, each. One ordered soup as a starter followed by a main course. The fourth person just ordered a main. Despite the complicated orders our server was un-phased. A few minutes later we were advised there were no croquettes (a small plate). The same thing had happened on a previous visit! The excuse being that they were very popular. Two points: 1. If they are so popular why not make more & freeze for future use? 2. Why not tell us when handing us the menu to save disappointment. Having said all that, the food arrived at our table in exactly the order we had requested. Later, when we were asked for dessert orders - after ordering Pavlova - we were told there was none & it was being taken off the menu! Again, why not tell us when giving us the dessert menus?! I wonder if others have become a bit disillusioned too? There were only a few tables occupied for lunch when we were there.

Service was shocking! 4 people for dinner and dessert and it took 3 hours! Food was absolutely amazing that is the reason for the extra star. It was over an hour after we had ordered until we got our food. Waiters were coming over to take orders and not clearing the glasses or finished dishes. Fire was out as well which made the place feel cold. Would not recommend until the service improves as we would love to come back for the food.

Food was good, mostly. The restaurant looks lovely and had a really pleasant atmosphere. Pork burger was a bit dry and bland, but the beef blade was cooked to perfection. Had the gold cheesecake, but this was bland and had barely any of the advertised caramel centre to it. Service was pleasant but slow. Had to chase the desserts up when we'd still not received them after almost half an hour. Had the service been a bit quicker, this would have been a 4 ⭐ review.

Bit meh. Mojitos werent really correct, and the food didnt live up to much either - hake saltimbocca was more like hake wrapped in parma ham (missing sage), and monkfish curry with katsu tasted more like monkfish bombay potatoes than anything else. Lovely interior with a lovely roaring fire - will probably be quite nice for a brew

Lovely interior but worst food we've had in the UK in over 10 years. Super cheap, large portions, horrible taste. We were lured in by the positive reviews, I simply do not understand...

Our favourite restaurant. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. It is our 'go to' place for family celebrations.

Excellent service and food. There were only two staff on (that we saw) and they owned it on a busy Tuesday afternoon. A great example of how to run a business. Really enjoyable, great atmosphere - we will be back.

We stopped today as part of a club cycle ride. Excellent service, well prepared for our visit and the coffees and food were of a high standard at reasonable price. My apologies for the riders who did not show up, I hope this was not a major inconvenience.

First time I'd been in, but for a family funeral. Can't thank Laura and the Staff enough for the trouble they went to to arrange a beautiful spread for us. Service was fantastic, constantly making sure we had enough tea and coffees. Thoroughly recommend!

Beautiful modern and rustic interiors combined with high beams. A lovely patio to sit outside. Great menu with plenty of choices for all dietary needs and super friendly staff. The beef cheeks were phenomenal as was the beetroot risotto. Look out for daily specials.

Very poor quality. I’ve never had mussels so badly cooked before and the main courses are extremely small. Terrible value for money and my experience doesn’t compare the numerous excellent reviews. Staff were very good and attentive.

We were on A9 highway towards Edinburgh and searching for a nearby lunch venue on google map. We were surprised to stumble upon such a nice restaurant in a small quiet town. Ambience and service was excellent but there were hits and misses with the food. The sirloin steak was delicious, tomato soup was good too especially in the cold weather (early April). While the pan seared duck breast tasted good, the meat was a tad too hard. The linguine with mussels had a bad smell and taste as if the mussels were not fresh.

Alright so this place is properly off the beaten track. In a small town we’ve never heard of, I stopped off here with friends on the way home from Pitlochry. It’s a beautiful setting and they have some fantastic outdoor seating areas for a drink (or food) on a sunny day. Service was a wee bit patchy. They did apologise and say they were very busy and so food would be longer than usual (fair enough), but when they didn’t have the sandwich my friend asked for available, he asked for a basic cheese sandwich instead and was told that wasn’t an option. That was a little disappointing. In their defence, the server was incredibly apologetic and went out her way to make up for it. I had the lamb roast which was superb. Like really good! Lamb was fantastically seasoned, as was the gravy and everything else on the plate. Not sure if I’ll have a chance to return as it’s way out the way for me but a fantastic spot with brilliant food!

Ordered the chicken kebab as a starter. It was raw in the middle. I complained and was told it would be replaced. After 5 minutes the waiter told me that I would get it in 3.5 minutes. By this time everyone else had finished theirs. The replacement was borderline raw, so I promptly walked out.

As a family of six adults and three young children, we had a lovely lunch with something delicious for everyone. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we made use of the garden and play area for the children while our food was being prepared. The kitchen was very happy to make small changes to the dishes to accommodate our preferences.

Been many times before friendly staff. Thought would finish of with a coffee, I asked for a biscuit OK comes with a tiny biscuit very nice, i asked for another one waitress had to ask her boss, NO was the answer but i could buy a scone or a large pkt biscuits I would have paid extra for another tiny biscuit not mutch bigger than fifty pence piece. Now to some people this might not be a issue, but to me it was. This ruined the otherwise good service, will have to think whether we will return

Wow..... I have eaten in some lovely restaurants with work and traveling. The food was awesome and very reasonable. Excellent.

We were presently surprised by the restaurant when we arrived, it is a quaint little restaurant with country feel but done in a modern way. Food was really good and the staff were really helpful, would absolutely come back again.

Booked this months back and finally we got there. And we were still late so thanks to the team for putting up with us. Been many times before but never disappoints. The Meze, and then the Sole Paupiette, in particular, were fantastic. And the house Grenache/Viognier pure pleasure to wash it all down with. Welcoming, fun-filled staff as ever. We are truly blessed to have this lovely place in our community and it never fails to hit the spot. Especially for a special evening like this. Thanks all, David, Amanda and Anna.

Came to Usige for the first time for a birthday lunch. Staff were very accommodating, the food and service was spot on, and I look forward to eating here again. Highly recommended.

Always love Uisge. Staff are friendly and laid back but efficient. The food is always good. Toilets immaculate. Decor is stunning. It's a quality restaurant whether you go for filled breakfast rolls or lunch or dinner. The coffee is excellent too. Proper coffee.

First visit here today even though we live in nearby Perth. My wife and I both had breaded fish and chips which was superb, with a light, crisp breaded coating. Served with lovely home made chips and a side salad along with fresh tartar sauce. Generous portions. Finished with two coffees. Staff excellent, friendly and efficient and whole place including the loos was spotless. Not the cheapest place admittedly, especially wines, but great for a special treat.

We had diner here with our cycling team 4 days in a row and everything was superb! The food, the service, great quality for it's price!

We dropped in for lunch unbooked, but were very quickly seated and given the menu and although traditional steak pie and fish and chips were on the menu there was a very varied number of dishes. The waiting staff were attentive without being overly so, and the ambience excellent, the music MOR was just the right volume. It took a little time for us to choose and the waiting staff seemed happy to wait Our food when it arrived was first rate, pork tenderloin and a chicken burger. The meat in both dishes was cooked perfectly as were the chips and salad was room temperature and in a lovely dressing. We did not find fault with any of the experience and will be back soon.

We shared a lovely lunch in the sunshine. The fish was beautiful, and my partner enjoyed the lamb.

On a recent holiday we ate here, the first time was on our first night when we were staying 5 minutes away and it was throughly enjoyable it was a lovely atmosphere with staff that were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great and we had a very nice evening. We then booked to go on our last night, again lovely atmosphere, glad we booked as it did get quite busy and when the locals go you know it’s going to be good.

Such a lovely place for tea. Nice spacious dining area, friendly staff and good food, what more could we want. The room was busy but it was nice and quiet for talking in, right volume on the music! Food was delish, particularly the spring rolls to start, beef cheeks for main and the crumble for pudding was epic! Worth the drive out of town to this tasty wee place

We had a meal here for the first time this week. Plenty parking and when you enter the restaurant has a warm cozy atmosphere and interior decoration is stunning and very in keeping with the countryside area. We had Applewood Cheese Bites to start with, Fish & Chips & Chicken Burger for our mains finished with Apple & Cinnamon Crumble & Custard Tart. The food was delicious and good portions too. Staff are very friendly and attentive will most definitely be coming back. Really good meal and enjoyable atmosphere.

A lovely meal for 5 to celebrate an 85th birthday. Attractive surroundings and good food. We were beautifully looked after by Val (who also makes an excellent mocha!) and Flo. Thank you! We will be back.

We noticed the place on our route to the woods and decided to chance it, on a Saturday evening. The waiter said initially that without a reservation we can't really get a table but a few minutes later said if we're not in a hurry food would arrive maybe 30min later. Lovely place, fantastic déco and furniture, the wood burner gives off proper heat to the whole place, and the food arrived very quickly actually, and it was fresh and well seasoned. We had fish and chips (fresh and tasty for a change, thin crispy crust), the fish croquettes (not as much fish in them but at least tasty potatoes), kibbeh, oat chai latte and apple crumble. All tasty and fresh and the waiter made sure I had the food according to our dietary requirements, which was very much appreciated. All dishes labelled clearly. Overall a really cool place to go for lunch or dinner or just a drink in the evening. Hope to go back there soon to try more of their menu.

We took our mum out for mother's day. She had the Sunday roast and found the beef to be very tough, so much so that she couldn't eat it. The staff were very good and offered her a replacement meal which was seafood pasta that she thoughaly enjoyed.

Came here on the recommendation of a friend and it certainly did not disappoint. Lovely restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. Both our choices were thoroughly enjoyed and we left clean plates! Would definitely recommend. 😋

I was looking forward to trying Uisage today and was impressed when we first went in. The space is pretty cool, the staff were welcoming and friendly, and there were 3 vegan choices on the menu. Wonderful, I thought, this is looking promising. Sadly, it wasn't. Our order of a steak burger and pecan & sweet potato salad took over half an hour to arrive, and when it did, we were shocked at how tiny the salad portion was. I ordered a side portion of chips because it was so small. It was served with silken tofu. Now, although I eat tofu in a variety of ways, I've never eaten silken tofu before, and thought it looked (and tasted) bland, raw, and completely unappetising. A quick Google search advised it can be eaten raw, so technically the restaurant did nothing wrong, although it is usually made into creamy desserts. It was awful. The waiting staff, while still very attentive, didn't ask us how the meal was, they just cleared the dishes away hurriedly, and there was no goodwill gesture, even to take the fries off the bill. All in all, a total disappointment. P.s my partner's burger was lovely apparently and his salad garnish was almost as big as my main course salad.

Back again to our local restaurant to enjoy the work of our new Neapolitan chef whose sole meunière is one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had. Best wishes for a successful time in Murthly

We were in the area & decided to stop for an early dinner/something to eat. They advertise closing at 6pm but no food orders are taken at 4pm. Very disappointing
