Coffee snobs celebrate! This unexpected gem serves the BEST coffee in Scotland. And the cake selection is splendid too. Make sure you pop in when you are on the island - even if you don’t have a ferry to catch.

I had good hot coffee, toasted bagel with creme fraiche, bacon and cheddar - and it was lovely, cost £9 odds. Friendly and helpful staff - it technically closes 4pm but the lady kept the cafe open until i'd had my bagel and coffee, which was very kind. Others in the cafe were having cocktails, which the Yellow Hare also sells - wine, espresso martinis, etc. Sells arts and crafts, art materials, postcards, souvenirs. Not tacky in any way, sells nice and quality items. 2 mins from ferry terminal. There is a launderette nearby which I think is also part of the establishment (?) and handy for holiday makers. Public toilet also available for customers.

Excellent cafe right beside ferry port. We visited twice while on Tiree Excellent latte , hot and chilled. One of the best. Delicious cakes. We tried the Victoria sponge , iced gingerbread and wonderful empire biscuits. Everyone needs to visit. Does get very busy when waiting on the ferry but part of the fun. Dog friendly too.

Nice little cafe offering breakfast rolls and pancakes, filled bagels all day and antipasti platters in the afternoon. They have cakes and scones and afternoon tea too. There is a nice selection of local island gins and some nice gifts all packed into a small cabin near the ferry terminal. Worth a stop but beware menu changes at set times 11am and 2pm I think so you may be disappointed if you miss your item of choice.

The Yellow Hare is a small dog friendly restaurant & gift shop on the Island of Tiree Scotland. It has recently been refurbished and is looking great. The service is great. Kate & her staff are very friendly as is her wee dog Billy. Kate bakes all her own food and it is excellent. There is also an out side seating area and a laundrette. Opening times are to suit ferry times. Great wee place to visit.

If you want a snack or a drink I can recommend the Yellow Hare. The owner was friendly and her dog is hilarious - he sits up and begs when his owner isn't watching. The food is fresh and reasonably priced. There are also gifts for sale in the café.

This charming little cafe is definitely in the 5 star category! Leaving Tiree on a Saturday morning after a lovely week's holiday, I'd aimed to have a quick look at An Turas and pick up takeaway coffee and hot chocolate as we waited for the ferry. Naturally as this was peak holiday season with many folk booked to arrive for TMF, the CalMac ferry managed to break down overnight, with the replacement ferry delayed over three hours. I'm not sure it'd be fair to say that I was glad of the delay, but it did give us more time to explore An Turas and enjoy a rather more leisurely coffee than we'd expected. Everything about Yellow Hare is just right. There is a really good range of souvenirs for travellers in a rush to get something to take home to remind themselves of this beautiful island, much of which is produced by local businesses. The food and drink offering is also just what folk will be looking for as they wait. And the quality is fantastic. I had a truly memorable chai latte - and there was a lot of it too - while my teenage son told me that his hot chocolate was 'banging', which I believe means very good! We enjoyed sitting at one of the tables outside, in a sheep-proof enclosure, enjoying the moment and the view over Gott Bay. The owner was so kind and friendly. The time passed quickly and pleasantly. Before we knew it, the replacement ferry had arrived. Stopping only to say hello to a friendly CalMac employee who I recognised from a BBC Alba documentary on Tiree a couple of years ago, we were soon on our way in good spirits and with happy memories of this beautiful island.

We called in to get a coffee to take to the beach and were tempted by the cakes - oh my! I think the Clootie Dumpling is awesome, our daughter raves about the brownies and the Dundee Cake is just the ticket after a day in the surf. Yes service can be slow at times, if there's a queue due to the ferry, but this is Tiree and time pressures shouldn't be a feature of your holiday. Will be ordering a box of Brownies to send to our Uni student daughter as a memory of a lovely 2 week break.

Tiree is a small island so you don't necessarily expect much from a small space structure close to the ferry port terminal and next to a car hire place...so what a lovely surprise this was. It was blowing a gale so we could not sit outside but the inside seating was snug and added to the vibe. A little gift section and a good coffee and cake selection. I was surprised to see other visitors tucking in to meat and cheese boards and a fancy sarnie. Gluten free and vegan options too for those with those needs so all in all quite the surprise. Lovely friendly service and a resident pup. Glad we found it.

Having followed them on Instagram on the build up to our trip I was looking forward to our visit here. Unfortunately it was very disappointing as we were made to feel that our order was an imposition (and actually ordered less than we planned because of it). Add to that the one member of staff abandoning the place to go greet someone off the ferry leaving a line of people waiting not good Oh and it's only dog friendly if your dog likes the resident dog coming up every few minutes and pursuing you across the road as you leave. I hate leaving negative reviews but I had such high hopes and we were made to feel very unwelcome.

There is so much potential if they had a staff change. One older member of staff made my visit incredibly uncomfortable for their disrespectful attitude and behaviour. I felt she negatively impacted on other staff members who forgot my change and other minor things to try and balance her behaviour.Very sad to write such a review and appreciate the other staff members who tried hard to improve customer satisfaction, but sadly will not be returning.

We have visited this place before and were not impressed but our visit in 2019 left us feeling much more impressed. Lovely coffee, take out service much appreciated as it was a very wet day and we were waiting for family members to come out of the sea from a kite surfing session. We treated ourselves to a cake too, and the flapjack which I chose got rave review from us all - supremely tasty, deliciously moist and something we will be calling in for when we are waiting in the ferry queue tomorrow!

When you are told you only halve half an hour before closing to choose your drink and enjoy it you get the feeling that customer service is low in the priority list. The incorrect order (drink missed) and exhibit at cake price coupled with ‘being cleaned around’ whilst we drinks and ate means we won’t be going back. This place could offer so much to those in the ferry queues but remained resolutely shut whilst we waited. Gifts expensive and not made on the island. Give it a wide berth!

After appalling service at Duck Bay we went here for lunch. Warmly welcomed. High chair for my grandson and the lovely waitress brought a bowl of water for the dog. Food was amazing and we were able to eat it indoors without being rained on because we had the dog (as happened at Duck Bay)! She also brought a treat for the dog. This place is fabulous and welcoming. Had a wonderful lunch and will definitely be back. 5 star service and food.

Seriously over rated & expensive. Stopped for a quick breakfast. Service was so slow that we'd finished a pot of tea by the time the food arrived. Ordered toast, avocado and poached eggs. Toast was cold, eggs cold and avocado had some sort of green sludge mixed through it with toasted oats and seeds on top. Not what was ordered. Not what was on the menu and I had specifically said I wanted something plain. Don't bother - it's not worth it!!
