My son and I stumbled upon this caféfeeling tired and hungry after our house move. I was amazed by the cheerful and interesting new owners and the lovely decor. It was immaculate and yet extremely homely. We ordered the vegetarian breakfast which Jamie Oliver would have been proud of. Beautiful. The self effacing new owners were so obviously master cooks and artists as well. I can't wait to go back. Cafés can often be over priced, complacent and a bit tired. Not this one. I would highly recommend a visit to lift the spirits and experience beautiful food.

I would say that as the father of the bride, but it was. Exactly what was required. Relaxed friendly get together for 40 family and friends with the whole place just for us. Drinks on arrival and amazing canapés, then the most wonderful 3 course meal downstairs. Nothing rushed, no hassle, just superb food. Nothing was too much trouble for Janet and her wonderful staff and chef Simon. We had all chosen before hand from 4 choices for each course. Drinks kept flowing upstairs then back down and the restaurant was a disco for the evening. Thank you all for just the best ever day.

My family and I came for lunch on Christmas Day. This was our first visit to The Copper Cow and we will most certainly be back. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. The canapés on arrival were absolutely exquisite and the 3 course meal delicious and faultless. We all had a wonderful time and couldn’t have asked for any more. Thank you so much to all the staff for the amazing service, food and drinks. Highly, highly recommend.

Welcomed on arrival by the owner who explained how it all works - you have a tick list from which to choose the different flavours of cooking oil, sauces and garnish and you take a plate on which you help yourself to the raw ingredients you’d like and then hand all to the chef who stir fries it and when ready it’s brought to your table in a bowl to eat with a fork or chopsticks. It’s fun and you get chance to be a bit creative and I suppose picky eaters can also then be sure they’re not getting something they won’t like. There are suggestions as to what flavours blend well if you’re fazed by the amount of choice. You just keep repeating this until you’re full. The restaurant is clean, smart and modern and the staff friendly and efficient. It’s a great place for a casual dining experience.

We called in after walking with our dog from Luddenden Foot to Sowerby Bridge along the towpath. A pot of tea for me, a cup of coffee for himself and a delicious (& huge) toasted teacake each. The dog even got a treat. We sat outside as it was a mild and dry day. All very nice and the staff were friendly too. We were refreshed & ready for the walk back. Highly recommend and we look forward to visiting again when we are next in the area.

The corner is a regular for us now. The food is amazing and great value for money. We get the 3 course menu and have been impressed every single time. Our 4 and 6 year old also love going. Would highly recommend for good quality authentic Turkish food.

I will start with the positive, beautiful surroundings. We came here for Coffee and a sweet treat. My 91 year old Mum asked for hot chocolate, the girl behind the bar told her “it’s very strong, I don’t think you will like it” she suggested we try the mocha instead. We decided on 2 mochas and a tea. We were then told she had no milk, only soya. We were just about to leave when someone came out of the kitchen and said “it’s ok I have found some” we also ordered 3 cheesecakes, the drinks arrived and the mocha’s were disgusting, they were tasteless and extremely watery. The tea was ok. We had ordered 3 vanilla cheesecakes with NO ICE CREAM, we asked for cream but was told they had no cream. The cheesecakes arrived all with ice cream. I am not sure what sort of cheesecake we were served but it definitely was not baked vanilla cheesecake. It tasted like something out of a packet from the 1980’s. We would have left and gone somewhere else but we were out of time, one of my friends had a train to catch. I will not be returning to this establishment. They really need to step up as we have so many fabulous places in Sowerby Bridge.

Endless amount of flat pints, kids behind the bar don’t know what they’re doing. One of the managers saying that their cider is hit and miss. Randomly deciding during the day on a saturday that they aren’t letting “chavs” in (according to the bouncer) anymore. Can’t hear yourself over the numerous barking dogs they don’t seem to care about. So seems it wants to be the finest place for an expensive pint in a town with nothing going on and won’t let in its regulars for being in sports gear during the day. Don’t bother letting anybody know. Just make up new policies as you go along and refuse entry. Just lost a few regular customers you don’t care about. More bothered about their profits.

Party of 3. Drinks were good. Mixed grill good too. Fajitas were too salty and staff were understanding and offered us another dish. Unfortunately this was cold when brought to the table. Complained again and meals were returned to the kitchen and taken off the bill. Staff showed a good attitude and service was good.

We have patronised The Larder for over 5 years, visiting once per month when over in the area on business. On our last visit we ordered two teas as well as meals. I asked if my pot of tea could have an extra tea bag as I find their brand too weak for my taste. The waitress told me to let it stew a bit. I repeated that I would prefer two tea bags and if it was a problem on this occasion I was happy to pay for it. However when the bill came I was horrified that I had been charged ÂŁ3.00 for the extra tea bag and was reluctantly refunded ÂŁl.50. Needless to say we will not be patronising the establishment again. I just hope the lady sat with her dog didn't dare to ask for a bowl of water for it.

We had a great time Saturday, the music was great, good variety and not too loud. The outside area is great for a refresh overlooking the canal and lock too. Reasonable priced drinks always a bonus.
