Not for me Lacked any atmosphere A big table filled with boxes and paperwork and a worker sat there on a laptop it looks scruffy the stairs to the toilet needed a clean then on next set of stairs full of clutter not restaurant standards Food My sister said her burger was lovely My other sister and I had steak left a lot of it chewed on plate as to tough it was overly seasoned and tasted like there was curry in the seasoning also the pepper corn sauce tasted of curry sauce and the chips we all was so disappointed with the chips they were not fresh hand cut chips a lot of them were green not crispy None of the food was fresh or really hot I suspect cooked previously and just warmed through very disappointed maybe we went on the wrong night but all in all I would say wetherspoon standard on a bad day

Brilliant food, had the mac bacon burger and it was fantastic! My son had a steak which was cooked exactly as requested and empty plated all round!

Little bit on the quiet side but then again it was 1pm on a Friday. Lovely little pub. Great selection of snacks. Sticky beef loaded fries to die for. Decent selection of beers and wines. Friendly staff. Great decor. Comfy seating. Will definitely be going back soon. Thank you. 9/10 👍👍

Id seen this place advertised on Facebook and thought I would give it a try. I went for the Turkey roast dinner & added the pigs in Blankets. The food overall was really nicely presented and I've had a lot worse Sunday roasts, and equally a lot better. I wouldn't say you are given a small portion, but its not a large portion either.... Veg wasnt enough. What I felt really let down was the Gravy. It was like tasting Sugar & we asked for Extra Gravy which they billed @ £3 for a tiny jug. Would I recommend it to family and friends. No. I thought it was expensive for what you got and soft drinks @ £4 a pop were also expensive. The place was a lovely setting but I wouldn't go back.

Had a lovely Sunday Roast here, very good portions and the staff were excellent. Will be going back hopefully soon. Good choice on menu and specials board, Not over powering. Thank you

Superb pub, excellent filling food and warm welcome family off staff. Maybe consider this instead of heading into the town, or before hand. Lovely seating for eating and drinking outdoors too. Sticky spicy beef loaded chips were my choice of the day.

I can guarantee this will be the place you've ever eaten in your life. We came here twice this weekend. We came for tea on the Saturday and then got convinced by Danny (the nicest person we came across the entire weekend) that we should come in for Sunday roast. On the Saturday I had the sweet chili chicken burger with chips and it the burger was bigger than my head, managed to get it all down and then we stayed for some lovely cocktails after. On the Sunday I ordered the classic Sunday roast. All I have to say it was perfect, great portion sizes, excellent tastes and just enough food to consume the entire dish. Massive shout out to our Danny who served us on both nights and provided excellent service. Will be very happy to come here again soon.

The food is great, the staff are lovely and the pub has a great ambience. Hands down my favourite pub to eat at in Halifax, the ribeye bone in and the Sunday lunch are personal favourites but it's all "banging".

First visit, it was the choice for a family birthday. It looks like a pub from the outside, but inside it is a small bar area and a larger dining room, it is a cosy traditional place and has a lovely atmosphere We were seated and as we had bought drinks in the bar we brought them through. there was a combination of traditional and more unusual items on the menu such as black pudding bonbon, which is what I had as a starter. We ordered both starters and mains as well as two kids meals, all of us enjoyed the food which arrived in a timely manner, but not so slow you were checking your watch. We were first in so they were only cooking our meals, but as the evening went on they got busier but food seemed to flow out of the kitchen. We had a pleasant evening, the staff were friendly and interacted with the children, which is always a good sign. Would recommend this place, either the restaurant or the bar. There is a small parking area on the opposite side of the road or you can park on the street if there is room

Came on the 15th of August for Birthday meal. It was absolutely delicious , every flavour awakened ya taste buds. Dog friendly too as Murphy, my sisters dog was welcome. Thankyou for making it a lovely Birthday meal guys, definitely be coming again Christine from Todmorden

Wonderful experience from start to finish! I rang up last min on a Saturday, asking if they would accept a group of 5 + 2 dogs for lunch within 10 mins. After being told yes, we arrived and were seated in at the nicest corner table which had a reserved sign. The children got colour pencils & activities to do. The dogs were very comfy and the food arrived quickly, tasted delicious and was great value. We were also offered table service which was a lovely touch. Bathrooms were very clean which is a huge plus. There is street parking and I didn't know until arriving that they also have a little car park opposite - very useful for a driver like me who is a bit nervous with new places :) thanks again, we will be sure to return.

Amazing fast service, waiter was friendly and funny, I had the roast gammon and the whole meal was beautiful. You NEED the cauliflower cheese!!!! After our meal we sat in the beer garden and had a drink and the views are lovely! I would definitely come back if I visit luddoden foot again!

Outstanding Sunday lunch as is all the food served there. Danny our lovely waiter was super helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, even when we switched items on the menu. Only complaint is I’m too full to move.😁

Had fantastic service from John and Leon at the Copper Cow a few weeks ago - all the food was delicious and plentiful - particularly enjoyed the sticky beef. First foray to the Copper Cow and will definitely be back for more! Highly recommended and good prices for the level of quality and quantity.

Visited for the first time for Sunday lunch today, booked a table for 2 an hour before. The pub is on the main road in the village of Friendly, there's a small car park opposite but it's a busy & fast road to cross which wasn't easy so next time I would park outside the pub in the lay by along the road. The pub's restaurant is nicely decorated & the staff were friendly and helpful. We decided to share the Sunday lunch platter for 2 at £30. You get beef (cooked to your liking either pink or well done), turkey & gammon, roast & mashed potatoes, gorgeous stuffing, carrots, peas, green beans, red cabbage, broccoli, massive Yorkshire puddings & gravy ! Everything was homemade, piping hot & delicious, we really enjoyed it all & were very full. It was very good value for the quality & quantity of food you got. We will definitely return again, thank you for the best Sunday lunch we've had for a long time !

Excellent independent pub which an interesting and varied menu and kudos to the chef for creating some innovative vegetarian meals. Really pleasant staff and in particular Daniel, the assistant manager, who was engaging but not intrusive. This was one of the highlights of our minibreak in Sowerby Bridge and Halifax. 😊

We popped in on our way to the Piece Hall. Had Sunday Roast for 4. The best Sunday Roast I have ever had. It was divine! Great value for money. Very impressed. And the staff were lovely. Very pleasant and helpful. Darren (I think he was called), Assistant Manager, deserves a special mention! Highly recommend.

Excellent Sunday lunch and great service. Staff and service were absolutely outstanding. Our mom was in a wheelchair and is 91, Caitlin the waitress was so patient with her. We will be going back there again.

Copper Cow is absolutely superb. Charlotte runs the bar and is exceptional. Friendly, polite and attentive. A perfect team member. Also, you won't find better food for the price locally. I love this gaff. Try the Rump Cap (cooked to perfection) with chimichurri, followed by any dessert on the specials board (made in-house by a talented pastry chef).

We have now visited here twice for Sunday dinner and it was really lovely. A bit more expensive than other places but for the quality, I think it's worth it. I do have one major issue though - they're proper tight with the gravy! Gravy is the staple that brings it all together! So one little gravy boat between two people to cover your plate is impossible. To have to pay an additional £3 for another small portion of gravy is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. Even with two (small) gravy boats the end of my dinner and potatoes were dry so what should've been an exceptional Sunday dinner, left me a little disappointed. My partner ordered the cheesecake on both occasions which he said was nice. I have ordered twice from the specials board for desert and both have been really awful I'm sorry to say. The first time was a meringue which tasted like meat! Last time was the cherry bakewell creme brulee which wasnt remotely a brulee and tasted awful. The table next to us had the same desert as me and didn't eat theirs either, saying the same thing. The desert was removed from the bill, thankfully. The staff are really friendly and attentive without being over the top and it's a clean place with a good atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend eating here but I'd probably come more often if we could just have a decent portion of gravy! No one wants dry roasties and yorkshire pud and to charge for more is a bit of a rip off. If you're paying a decent sum for a Sunday dinner, the required amount of gravy is expected to come with.

The food was nice. Not very much turkey on the Sunday roast, but enough meat with the beef roast. The vegetable toad in the hole was 3 sausages with 2 yorkshire puddings, so not really toad in the hole. And there wasn't enough gravy with it given the 2 yorkshires. The service started off OK, but the servers seemed either tired and in need of break, or just bored and a bit inattentive. The atmosphere was lovely. They seemed very accounting of allergies. I don't agree with the 10% service charge for over 6 people, especially when the service wasn't friendly. Then to keep the change without being offered it.

First time going to this pub and was pleasantly surprised how great it was. The food was excellent and the service was great plus found out it's dog friendly already looking forwards to our next visit

Really disappointed. Visited this evening to meet with a group of girlfriends. The waitress accidentally dropped a very large tall tumbler of water with ice down my back. I was soaked to the skin. There was no attempt to help me get dried out and I changed my own chair for a dry one. I ordered the cod for my meal which was cooked beautifully but the potatoes and broccoli served with it were minuscule. I was so hungry I’ve just come home and eaten again. I was doubly disappointed to see that I had been charged the full amount for my fish and sparkling water. I know restaurants work on a tight budget but to not reduce my bill was a bit mean spirited given that I’d sat through the meal in wet clothes.

We came last week to have breakfast with Santa and we were so impressed! From the service to lovely breakfast sandwich and cuppa, to the lovely touches for he children. It was also so refreshing to not feel overwhelmed or embarrassed about our 2 year old wandering round and exploring as the session was aimed at them which we haven’t seen before. We were made to feel so welcome and, as it was our little girls first trip to Santa weren’t rushed and she was able to take her time to get her surrounding and feel comfortable seeing the big man himself! Thank you for making it such a special experience! We will certainly be back not only for a meal but hopefully next Christmas too!

Went as a family of 3 (2A and 1C). The food was amazing! Staff were friendly. Food was reasonably priced, but we found the drinks on the expensive side. We will 100% be returning and hopefully some time soon.

Visited for Sunday lunch with husband and my elderly mum. Food was delicious, even mum who is a bit picky, ate a lot more than she usually does. Service was great even though the restaurant was really quite busy with a few big parties. Worth a visit and we’ll be back.

Stumbled upon this place last night as we were heading to Halifax to the theatre and this place had good reviews so we drove down there to eat prior to the event. Restaurant area was super quiet but it didn’t put us off at all. The girl serving us was so friendly and polite, food was unreal, the burgers were so good! We live about an hours drive away but both said we would happily drive back for a burger as good as what we had last night. I’m sure we’ll be back when we’re next in the area, Thanks for having us

I can't speak for the pies or steak as I didn't try them, but they looked good. The beef 'cowbab' with halloumi on a bed of salad with a home made wrap was sensational, as was the moo cow burger. This place has decent chefs. Also the pints tasted super crisp and delicious. Full marks.

All friendly enough and very plesant. Food was okay and the atmosphere was okay however for a place only 1/2 full the poor bloke who was serving us was rushed off his feet and looked a little flustered and if really busy? I can see parking a bit of an issue. Nothing wrong with the place..... Just....... okay 👌

What a fantastic visit this evening, greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, seated for our meal in great quite corner and Matt came over and run us through the menu and specials, nothing was too mutch trouble, had a stunning starter followed by an awesome burger and an absolutely fantastic beef and ale pie, we finished of with a strawberry cheese cake that was divine 😋 we will definitely be back 👍

We've visited the Copper Cow for Sunday Lunch twice now and rate it as one of the best roast dinners we've had at any price, pushing for top spot in value. Matt and the team are hard working, welcoming and knowledgeable about their food and drink. It's well worth checking the specials board, and we recommend leaving room for the homemade ice cream at the end! If you fancy a walk to build up an appetite, there's a good canal path you can get to easily from the Tuel Lane car park (free on Sundays) a few minutes drive away. Note the pub is really popular on Sundays so it's probably best to book - easy to do on the website.

We visited for a birthday celebration. This is a popular venue with couples and family. Staff worked hard although working under pressure. Well worth a visit. A little noisy as the restaurant became busy. Food excellent.

We had a takeaway meal for Father's day. Our food,mains and dessert was first class. The portions were generous and we thoroughly enjoyed the expetience. . Can't wait to order our next takeaway.

We've been here a few times now and this time decided to order for takeaway online and collected. It did not disappoint, the food was just as good as eating in the restaurant, super fresh and hot. We came across this gastropub when driving from Hebdon Bridge to Halifax. We had loaded fries with crispy beef and with buttermilk chicken. Both were excellent. Friendly staff, swift service and great food.

Visited for Sunday lunch as it makes a nice change to have someone cook for me 😊 roast beef dinners was our choice of the day which we both really enjoyed . The young lady waiting the tables was very good super efficient, very friendly , and on the ball , we will definitely return 👍

Perfect Sunday lunch! After eating my Mum's Sunday lunch for 30 years where everything was cooked for 3 hours, I hated Sunday dinners, the Copper Cow has converted me! Meat cooked to perfection, beautiful mash and roast potatoes, and don't start me on the carrots! Don't hesitate, just book! Staff couldn't be more helpful, an absolute gem in Calderdale! We were eating there quite early at 5.30pm so it wasn't really busy, but it was filling up as we left. The service was very good as was the food. I was driving so no alcohol for me but they had 0% gin and a nice bottled lager. I would definitely recommend and return myself. Overall a very positive experience.

Went today for Sunday lunch. Absolutely stunning food. Had home made mushroom soup... full of flavour. We shared the cow platter for mains. All cooked to perfection. Took our 2 dogs. Bones were provided and a bowl of water. They had their photos taken, to put in their gallery. Very friendly owner and staff. Who all engaged in our conversation. Definitely. Recommend.

Great night out again. Just fancied a nice casual meal was not disappointed wow once again food was exceptional! My wife had red pepper and jalapeno hummus and I had my usual chicken wings. We both enjoyed. The hummus really nice.My wife then had seabass fillets with roasted potatoes and chilli garlic butter. I had special board it was pork loin steak cooked on a griddle with pakchoi and rice. To follow I had double chocolate brownie and ice cream wow!!! It was a shame it was quiet. It does not deserve to be. Exceptional food and great service. And reasonably priced.

My partner, 3 year old daughter and I came for Sunday lunch and we throughly enjoyed our meal. The meat was cooked to perfection and the food was really tasty. We got some additional sides pigs in blankets, cauliflower cheese etc and all the food was fantastic. We also ordered ice cream and it was one of the nicest ice creams I’ve tasted. Only a very small niggle but we ordered the roast for 2 to share and it comes with a small jug of gravy, when I asked if we could have some more the waitress said it would be £3.50 which seems a little bit steep for a jug of gravy. The waitress was quite slow and we were sat without drinks for quite a while. Overall a lovely meal and will return.

Haven’t visited Copper Cow for a few months, Used to love this place and came at least once a month but was very disappointed when we recently visited. I am not sure if it has new owners or change of chef but the food is no where near as good as it was the last time we came, or all the other times we’ve been in the past. Fries were chewy as if microwaved, chicken burger is now thigh not breast, not something I would expect when paying £13 or more. starter literally tasteless, not even seasoned. Service very slow. Much better places to eat locally than here. Very disappointing.

The best place!!!! We come often for the Sunday lunch share platter and it’s faultless. I can never leave without the legendary toffee sundae no matter how full I am. Superb!!! The manager Matt is very friendly and attentive.

Decided to eat here again, was not disappointed wow amazing food again. I had feta cheese parcel to start, so much more than it sounds! My husband had his favourite chicken 🐔by wing's gorgeous. To follow I had lamb 🐑 kofta on flatbread the flavours so good. My husband had chicken 🐔 burger 🍔 he said that was gorgeous also. The young chef in the kitchen was very talented, also the young waitress was very helpful and professional. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. Will be back soon.
