From the moment we go through the door, you get the most warming welcoming smiles from the crew, patient and amazing hospitality. There is a veriety of delicious food and the deserts are amazing! Coming back for sure ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dog friendly as well :)

What a Gem. This Owner/Chef is doing some innovative things without any meat! 3 course meal with friends. Can't wait to go back and work my way through their menu.

The staff were really friendly, and the service was very good. I found the food over priced. We had the baked Camembert £15, which only came on salad with a sliced pepper (a strange choice) and a few bits of cracker (dry and how I imagine dog biscuits to taste) no bread or chips. We were still hungry. It’s a pet friendly place

A real treat to go to the retreat! It had a beautifully varied menu. I had halloumi and flat bread. The halloumi was cooked to perfection and the salad was dressed so well. Such a great vibe here!

Yum!! Yum yum yum! What a delight: the chef, the staff, the food, the space. We had so many tempting options for vegan and gluten-free magic! The beetroot falafel was a revelation. The burger was fab. The desserts were great. Plus lovely local tips that really helped us enjoy our time in the area. Thank you!

Amazing place! The service is impeccable right from entry, the atmosphere is friendly and calm. The menu is brilliant with a lot of variance, and the food exactly how you’d want and expect it to be! Also very pretty place to sit and relax in! Definitely the best service I experienced in Yorkshire!

Lovely food, simple dishes very well presented and flavoured. Highly recommend the roasted feta and the espresso martinis. Well worth a visit, and a beautifully decorated upstairs seating area. The tikka wraps were pretty awesome too... 🤗 👍

We enjoyed a leisurely lunch at The Retreat today and will definitely be returning. The food was delicious, great value and well-presented. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was relaxing. The decor is lovely too. Can't fault it!

After seeing pictures and reviews we decided to come here for the sourdough sharing platter. Almost 40 minutes of waiting and receiving something that looked like chips from a distance (if you squinted) we decided that we were just about ready to leave, after catching a small view of what they were going to pass off as a sourdough 'platter' complete with the Mushrooms which we asked not to be on the plate (partner allergic) we politely asked to leave, I think the fact the waitress even waived us from paying for our drinks summed up the all round terrible experience. Genuinely felt bad for the group of ladies who walked in afterwards. Picture of Chips for reference, tasted like they were cooked sometime in August and reheated.

We visited yesterday. We were a group of 10. Food was great . I had superfood salad. It was really good. Service excellent. I would go again, we were well looked after.

Menu is limited but very nice food. Lovely staff and good value. Would say the bread selection could be improved.
