I've always really rated this place & am very keen to support independent local businesses too however yesterdays breakfast visit was a real disappointment. I ordered the vegan breakfast which came with scrambled tofu. I don't think I have ever eaten anything quite like the tofu they served yesterday. It tasted peppery hot without any flavour and had the consistency of shredded, over-cooked worms. I've been vegan for 40 years and am a big fan of tofu. The issue for me is their response which I would rate as almost disinterested; when I complained, I asked what the tofu was (as I wasn't sure), was then informed that tofu is quite flavourless and that's what it tastes like. Big news to people across the world like myself who have the skills to make it taste good! No conversation with the chef, no offer to cook me another portion but did get a free hash brown. Was Soo surprised by the lackluster customer service (or real interest). Check-out the photo and see if you can Guess what the tofu is?

Visited before and had snow average experience but decided to give it another try. Service OK and friendly enough. Just seems like there's a lack of communication. Order delivered was missing a main item - there was only two of us - and the one delivered was wrong. Orange juice warm. Latte was OK but not as hot as it should be. Received the two main items which were fine but needed another drink. Ordered another latt, never received it. Place was busy but it seemed disjointed.

Roast and toast is normally our go 2 cafe but todays lunch was very poor,, i understand it was busy but surely that shouldnt affect the quality especially if u wait patiently. Only orderd 2 cold meals,,, but both came out with salad that was so dry it was uneatable, what happened to the roast n toast we love with a bit of dressing on it?. My roll was dry and hard so looks like i was given yesterdays...... Which would b fine if i was charged yesterdays price.... So had to leave the end of it as it wasnt pleasant.. And we didn't understand why there was sweet popcorn on our plates... I hope it was just a bad day but don't think we will b going back......which is a shame

Outdoor and indoor seating, friendly staff and delicious food, great to have veggies and vegan options. The garlic mushrooms on sourdough are a delight. Also do afternoon teas and themed nights. I’ve been 4 times in the last couple of weeks and will definitely be back 😊

One of the best cafes I've ever been too, lovely staff. And their toast was very nice. A verbatim review from my 8 year old son who I have taken there twice. Nice cup of coffee too. Thumbs up from us.

A really lovely dog friendly cafe . Choice of seating areas - inside and outside. Food was very good . We had a bacon sandwich on granary and the bacon was good quality , well cooked and plentiful. We also had Avocado and poached egg on sourdough. There was loads of Avocado and the egg was perfectly cooked . They had a large selection of cakes and the coffee was excellent. The staff were lovely and the price of everything was extremely reasonable.

What a fantastic find! Three of us went for lunch/brunch yesterday and it was even better than we’d expected. The cafe location is just perfect and comes with a really interesting history. Do ask. Staff were extremely efficient and friendly and service was quick and faultless. The coffee was absolutely excellent. We ate: a halloumi and chilli sauce wrap with salad; eggs Benedict (the Hollandaise was especially good) and a mini full English which was perfectly cooked, using local ingredients. It was a very busy lunch service but staff ensured all patrons were happy, and seated appropriately. I was really pleased to see that a party with two damp dogs were made really welcome. My fellow diners bought some pecan pie for later on which they enjoyed with a cup of tea. A table of lovely ladies next to us were extremely complimentary about the cafe and its food and service. They come several times a week, which says it all really. Will definitely be back!

Delicous lunch (a wrap, small breakfast, and an eggs benedict). Prompt and friendly service, with extremely good coffee. There is some parking reserved for customers just on the left, and the larger car park further down on the right is also free. Close to an attractive canalside marina, it's a perfect place to visit if you want a brunch/light lunch or coffee/tea and cake. We had a takeaway slice of pecan pie, which was very good too.

We have been visiting different cafes in the area with our dog for a few years and enjoy comparing each one. The breakfast we had this morning was one of the best ! Top quality ingredients which were cooked to perfection. The sausages especially were superb, lovely bacon and free range egg. Friendly and attentive staff. We would have preferred better quality toast but at least it came with butter ! We would definitely recommend the cafe and will certainly return.

Lovely little place, really great coffee and food served by the nicest bunch of people. Been several times now and it just gets better and better. Highly recommend the full English, although I didn't have it, I wish I'd ordered it when it brought to my granddaughter. The smashed avo and poached eggs is also a delight. The sausages, I nicked one of the granddaughter, are fantastic, never change them! Sitting outside in the garden in the sun or inside you won't be disappointed at all. Thank you.

Called in here by sheer chance whilst touring East Lancs / West Yorks this lunchtime. What a great find... nice proprietors, great food (especially the cakes!) and VERY reasonable prices. Set in a post-industrial mill and canal area, it's quite quirky but nonetheless very nice. Definitely a future port of call for the pair of us.

Visited for brunch this week and couldn't fault our experience. Very friendly staff and the food was amazing. The quality of the ingredients was exceptional. The full English had beautiful meaty sausages, good quality bacon toast eggs etc. I had the eggs Royale from the specials board and again excellent quality ingredients cooked perfectly. Couldn't resist finishing off with a homemade individual Victoria sandwich cake with jam and fresh cream. Lovely coffee too. Can't wait to go back!

I may have just written the review for the restaurant by mistake. It was the pub I attended at 8:31 last night Tuesday there are only a few people in the pub about four. I arrived just before 830. Look at the menu and then go to the bar and I’m told by the Bar staff sorry Food finishes at 8:30 it was 831. I said I arrived at 8:25 and really sorry Food finished. This is why pubs and independence closed down. The staff should be ashamed of the way they look after peoples businesses.

We attended the wine tasting evening, what a great night. We weren't sure what to expect but got to say there was plenty of tasting , no short measures. Lovely guy hosting and very chatty. Atmosphere was great and the sharing plate was very appreciated however we expected a little more food. Anyway didn't spoil the evening and the landlady was on the table next to us unbeknown 🤪 Thanks for the Rose! we loved it that much we had 2 more bottles 💕

Called here on a sunny Sunday afternoon after checking into our accommodation close by. Great beer, great decor and fantastic staff. We sat in the sunshine and had a lovely chat with Laura, who we will definitely meet up with soon. We didn’t want to leave this lovely place but unfortunately we had other plans for the evening.
