We attended the wine tasting evening, what a great night. We weren't sure what to expect but got to say there was plenty of tasting , no short measures. Lovely guy hosting and very chatty. Atmosphere was great and the sharing plate was very appreciated however we expected a little more food. Anyway didn't spoil the evening and the landlady was on the table next to us unbeknown 🤪 Thanks for the Rose! we loved it that much we had 2 more bottles 💕

Cracking service by the staff out front, shipping order in front of us and they sorted rather than us being sat for ages. Great Sunday lunch, 1 pork and 1 gammon. Fixed price menu for 1, 2 or 3 courses. Grand way to celebrate 18 million views of food on Google

Started with the liver and port pate, delicious. Had the delicious beef burger, it was like pulled beef with potato, delicious. Hubby had the salt and pepper chicken burger, which he said was delicious too. Very filling and delicious. The Chardonnay was so nice. We will definitely return.

Two of us visited for Sunday lunch having read the reviews and looked at the photos. I can confirm that the experience was in line with the positive comments already made. The main course was really tasty and of a good size. Deserts (cheesecake and Eaton Mess were delicious. We were served by Kayleigh who looked after us really well. No hesitation in recommending Viaduct we will definitely return. Thank you.

Great evening meal. Stylish restaurant, great music, very polite and attentive staff. We went for the gluten free menu being coeliac and the fried food did not disappoint. Would certainly recommend and return.

We went to the Viaduct for Sunday lunch whilst we were in the area and we were so glad that we did! The male half of this couple ordered Chicken Tenders to start which even he agreed was a very large portion. The pork and gammon were cooked to perfection as were the roast potatoes and vegetables. The gravy, which there was absolutely loads of, was amazing. I was so glad that I had saved enough room for the Lemon Tart. The bonus was that the already value for money price of 2 courses for £23 was discounted by £5 during August. The service was excellent. We will definitely be back 😊

As a family with dietary restrictions all around, Viaduct is definitely the best pub style restaurant that we’ve visited! The portion sizes are amazing and as a seed/vegetable oil free diner they created options for me to ensure I could have an amazing meal! Honestly couldn’t stress enough how worth it a visit is!

Been coming here for a few years now and the food has always been good, but last Sunday (4th aug) was the best it's ever been. The meat was cooked perfectly, the veg perfectly seasoned and the broccoli just the right amount of crunch, it was simply perfect. The service was top too, particularly Jenna who was smiley and couldn't do enough for me. Over the years I've been this last weekend just seemed to have that extra bit that made it just that extra special. 10/10 thanks guys!

Wonderful place, nicely decorated and relaxed atmosphere. Service is excellent, food is delicious and everything contributed to make my visit a pleasure. I love the place, and it is local to me. Special mention to sunday roast, pork dishes and good prices. They deserve every success -hopefully, as if they are successful they will con tinue to be open and I will be able to continue coming.

Delicious Sunday lunch , beautifully presented, and nice 2 for £14 cocktails (rum punch) . It Was only an option for 2 or 3 course on the menu but I asked and they accommodated a main course for £18. The only disappointment was they had no apple sauce for a roast pork dinner. Service was good and all staff very nice , beautiful modern restaurant,I look forward to trying the regular menu

Called in for a drink whilst on holiday from Australia. Very nice looking bar and an excellent wine selection. Just what West Vale needed.

Nice boozer. We've lived on our boat for 5 years and always said we wanted to walk into West Vale for a session. It was so disappointing 😔, the village boozers are a bit pretentious, except this boozer. Nice atmosphere and a great pint of Guinness. Unfortunately doubtful if we are gonna experience it again. 😱🤦🏻

Visited here on our way up to Halifax on Saturday. Street parking, and managed to park outside. The decor in here is beautiful! Really tastefully done. Staff were super friendly. I had the beef and onion gravy ciabatta, and my boyfriend had the Viaduct burger, both of which were great! Decent price too, definitely worth a visit!

We have had such a lovely lunch here today. The lady who served us (I think was called Eve?) was very warm, friendly and efficient. Menu had copious amounts to choose from and all of our meals were delicious! Restaurant and toilets very clean and beautifully decorated. We will definitely be back!

Came here on Friday 29th March for my sisters birthday for bottomless brunch and it were absolutely fantastic, the manager were very friendly and attentive, the young girl waitress we had were outstanding always cheerful and up and down the stairs like a yo-yo but it never phased her, the food were beautiful and nobody could do enough for us we will definitely be returning and an one thing we love .. the drinks kept fast flowing and everyone that came were very happy about that, great team thank you and well done 👏🏻 👌

Popped in for lunch. The beer selection is ok. Some good Ossett Brewery beers. All well looked after and tasty. Also a varied range of lagers, wines, cocktails and champagne. The service is friendly and efficient. We were made very welcome. Thank you! I had the steak and ale pie with triple cooked chips and mushy peas. It was excellent. Lots of extra gravy is a bonus. My wife had the sausage and mash and it was really tasty. The bacon jam and the sweeter gravy really complimented the subtle herbs in the Cumberland sausages. All in all, this is a cracking pub well worth a visit. We will be back.

I want to say a huge thank you to Luke, Jacob and their fantastic team at The Viaduct. We were there with our family and friends (29 of us) to celebrate my husband’s 80th birthday. The food was delicious, the portions extremely generous, the staff were so attentive and polite. They couldn’t do enough for us. The service was efficient, without being rushed - well done to you all. We had a fabulous evening, thank you. If you want good food, good service and brilliant staff go to the Viaduct. We’ll be seeing you again before long.

Food was really nice & the lad who served us was really friendly & helpful. Had a table booked for half 7 but didn't get sat down until 7:45 as our table wasn't ready when we arrived. Really nice place inside.

I’ve been visiting for over a year, where the food and service has been excellent. Special shout out to Daisy who has been our server for the majority of times I dine there on a Sat afternoon. She is always attentive and professional, up and down those stairs all afternoon. Overall, a very enjoyable experience regardless whether it is quiet or busy when they’ve big parties.

We had a table of 26 booked for a surprise birthday meal. We absolutely could not have had better experience. The staff could not have done any more for us than they did. They had smiles on their faces the entire night, and we weren't the quietest of party's! The food was amazing and all out on time. I really could not recommend the Viaduct enough, we will definitely be back. Thank you so much for an amazing experience.

Great pub in the vibrant centre of West Vale. A good choice of drinks and they also serve food but we did not eat on this occasion. Always lively on a weekend. Can get very noisy as there are no soft furnishings so not ideal for a cosy chat if busy.. Clean and tidy environment and nice toilets. A great addition to the area.

I eat here regularly and we came to try the new sharing kebab- wow what a treat. It looked stunning and tasted amazing. I love sharing food so this was a real treat. Service was spot on too. Can’t wait to come back.

Arrived for lunch, can only order from the lunch menu and there were a few items that did not have in stock which made the choice very minimal. Ordered an "adapted" dish due to lack of stock, wasn't the best, really bland. Service was good and all food arrived quick enough and at the same time. The guy was on his own but there looked to only be 2 tables seated so service was good. I really like the atmosphere and decor of this place, if I hadn't specifically gone for food I would have had no issue. I have been before and I think the menu needs a re-vamp, the food has been the same for many years now.

Booked a table for Saturday evening and we had a fabulous night. 6 of us were greeted and asked if we would like a drink or to go straight to our table. We pondered the menu and all ordered starters and mains. The highlights were the kebabs and especially the new sharing version. Nothing too much trouble. Service was great. Will definitely be back.

We were booked for Sunday dinner at 5.30pm but we arrived early at 5.00pm. No problem at all & even though we offered to wait in the bar, we were escorted upstairs to our table. Nice menu, but not too extensive. Food was fabulous, with great service. The beef & pork were beautiful with loads of veg, great Yorkshires! Will definitely be back!

Lovely looking pub, however the food and service wasn’t great. On arrival for bottomless brunch we were presented with the wrong menus. We were then told these would be swapped for us, these didn’t arrive. 10 minutes into the bottomless brunch and we still hadn’t ordered our first drink. Food was eventually ordered and came, chicken was dry and tasteless. We asked three times to order a round of drinks and no one came back to take the order. Service was really bad and the drinks definitely did not flow. We were still expected to leave our table 90 minutes after our booking, even though we waited 15 minutes for our first drink. As this was their issue and bad service we should have got that 15 minutes back and another drink. When we mentioned at the end regarding the service and experience being bad on our first visit, we were told it’s not normally this hectic and it would be better next time… (we defo won’t be back a second time) Wasn’t worth the value for money.

Fix the beer by getting a proper cellarman. Please 🙏

Would definitely go again, but people don't want a Christmas dinner menu on New Year's eve, bad mistake in my opinion, I would have left without eating, but there was a group of us !

Stopped off for a late lunch. Staff were accomodating and really helpful. I had a hot beef ciabatta with chips and onion gravey. Couldn't fault it. Great food, great staff, great price. Would definitely go again.

Modern bar with ale, wine, cocktails. Upstairs restaurant with nice menu. Bar environment downstairs with fireplace also for food, several menus to choose from. Lovely tasty dishes, and great selection of drinks.

Went about 7 pm on Saturday 23 December 2023. Steady number in but when we asked for a plate of chips to share as we had been to football at the Shay. We were told by a bar woman that, "the kitchen is too busy". Like hell! I went upstairs to see a couple (having dined) in the restaurant and an empty function room. Peeked into the kitchen and virtually no activity at all. Shan't be going ever again!

Wow again. I have eaten in Halifax Town centre twice last week. No restaurant in Halifax compares food excellent price excellent. The chef is amazing. Sunday diner excellent or if you want a burger,excellent. I had pork with haggis croquettes. Amazing. Highley recommend a trip down there. Service everything was perfect. Our friends were blown away

It was nearly 8pm on 23 December 2023 and we asked for a sharer plate of chips as we had been out a while. The girl behind the bar said the kitchen was too busy. So I went upstairs to the bathroom and there was one party of four who had dined, nobody else and even the function room was empty! If that's the idle way staff treat us (my friend and I come on to West Vale frequently) then the Viaduct is off our visits.

Picked from TA reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Went for the 3 course festive menu and was impressed with the presentation and taste. Would thoroughly recommend. Top marks.

This was our 1st visit to Viaduct and it won’t the the last. We travelled from Stoke on Trent as we were visiting our grandson who lives in Halifax so we wanted somewhere nearby for Sunday lunch. We chose well , the Sunday lunch 2 courses was fab , roast of beef, vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding was delicious, the nicest we’ve had in a long time, accompanied by cauliflower cheese and a lovely selection of fresh vegetable , it was so good, grandson had the fish & chips and cleared his plate . Deserts we opted for the sticky toffee pudding with honeycomb ice cream and hubby had the chocolate fudge cake, it was absolutely delicious. We wouldn’t hesitate to book there next time, what a beautiful venue, very nicely decorated and the staff were excellent, friendly, welcoming and very efficient. It’s a 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from us .

Came to the Viaduct for a meal with my partner. We had already pre ordered from the festive menu and it was stunning. We had prawns and belly pork for our starters followed by Turkey and game casserole. Both of which were delicious. We always love eating here and this meal was exceptional. Great staff and food. Can’t wait to return!

Visited with my 3 children and when I took my youngest to the bathroom there was signs of drug use in there, white powdery substance in the cubicles , I understand that this is a thing these days but the establishment is doing nothing to prevent this or keep the facilities safe and clean

Sunday dinner before going to Rex cinema. Parking just round the side on the road. Nice decor, friendly, young staff. Pork, gammon or beef to choose from, or vegetarian or other options. Plentiful portions. Nicely cooked. Downstairs is more of a pub with Sport on TV , upstairs has a nice relaxing restaurant feel. Will go again

Went for bottomless brunch and the service was awful. When you go for a BB you go for flowing drinks. I’ve been other places in west vale and the drinks flow as they should and get your moneys worth. The food was lovely although took a very long time to take our order. Other tables that had brunch tended to have bottles of Prosecco on the tables and when we asked we got told you can only have one drink at a time. Most likely won’t come back for BB.

Me and my mum had Sunday breakfast here and it was amazing. Our food was fantastic and our waiter a really nice guy, we assumed it was his restaurant but it turns out he’s staff.

Visited with my partner on a busy Saturday Afternoon. Was greeted and seated quickly. I opted for the Lamb which was delicious and a good portion while my partner had the duck breast. Service was fast and attentive. Thank you very much we will be back!

Enjoyed the food and the evening but couldn't believe being charged £1.70 for a shot of lemonade in the gins. Kind of took the edge off to be honest - feel robbed Edit post comment: You dropped one star - 5 is reserved for outstanding. Out of interest with your competitive rates; how much is half a pint of lemonade? Probably what you charged for a quarter of a pint in a single gin?

I am sure this pub is perfectly fine but please do not waste your time sending in a CV . They ask for staff , advertise in the window and then just do not bother to follow up when people send in CVs . Expect I am old fashioned . I just think it is just really poor form . Further to response from you on 3rd July : Thankyou for your prompt reply . It is probably because I work with recruiters that I think your approach to recruitment is poor. Even the voluntary sector provide a rough estimate as to the timescale involved in the CV review process . You have just put a blackboard in your window although your advert on Indeed is for full time staff - urgently required ? Your staff have spoken to my son and advised that the manager would be in touch in a few days. This clearly is not in keeping with how you recruit according to your reply. Confusing for young people I am afraid to say . Just be much clearer with your process from the outset . This is all that is required . Thankyou .

Wow! From the minute we walked in jacob was so welcoming and pleasant Great staff everybody seemed happy. The food was unbelievable. Sunday Dinner - really enjoyed the food. The extra yorkie and jug of gravy is a nice touch. Not quite 5* as I wasn't too keen on the beef.

Usually come her on a monthly date night but after how ive just been spoken too we will not be returning. Management need to know how to speak to customer instead of treating them like dirt over a dietary requirements. Over pepper being removed off a kebab. I quote. Chef is knackered and he isn't doing it and I'm not asking him too either. Rude and nasty They will Probably try and delete this review like the did the one on their Facebook page for stating fact and truth and the nasty owner didn't like it. Now lies in the reply. I hope you don't treat all customers who have dietary requirements the same. Been coming to you for our date night every month since you opened and never been treated as poorly as I was on the phone today.

Beautiful little pub/bar with excellent dining experience upstairs. A selection of ale, beer, wines and cocktails. Toilet facilities are local upstairs which are clean and spacious. Disabled toilet available downstairs. Disability friendly easy accessible. Colleagues are friendly and welcoming.

Had an interesting experience at The Viaduct today... Food was good and service was generally very good but I couldn't help but notice a very unsavoury incident with the chef and other staff. The chef appeared to be swearing and shouting at them at the bar area and I thought this was a bit strange and very unprofessional. Not sure what was happening but the way he was treating his fellow team members was embarrassing, I actually felt for them all! All a bit ridiculous to be honest and it's has certainly put me off going again. I shall be telling others too as it's not the sort of thing you want to be seeing in an otherwise friendly and relaxed environment. A real shame as the food was ok.

Booked a retirement meal at the Viaduct. The staff were so helpful with the planning from start to finish, food ordered in advance as there were 36 of us. We were given sole use of the restaurant upstairs which was perfect. The food was served on time and speedily. Everyone got to eat together and loved the food. It was perfect.
