As with any cafe there can be some minor variation in how your food comes due to different staff on different days but regardless of this the food is always a high standard, I am quite fussy with my food but know I can always be safe ordering here. The salt and pepper chicken and chips are also a great lunchtime snack and very reasonably priced

Worst cafe in Halifax the staff don't wash their hand whilst cooking food the food is served on dirty plates and the staff are rude and think their better than you. Eat here you will be ill big dirty black curly hair in my sandwich disgusting food. Needs closing down I saw a rat outside in the bin

Got a double fried egg sandwich which was requested to have runny yolks. T-cake was soft and fresh such a shame you had to go all Norman Bates on the eggs there really is no need to slash them up like that. Just put the egg in the butty n step away from the knife!

i bought a sausage butty, when i received it i bit into it and got a horrible mouth full of mould and something like a soapy taste from the bread bun. was absolutely revolting would not recommend do not ever enter this cafe service was shocking. i got a nasty comment from an worker saying dont forget to wipe your face you fat chunky t**t. very disrespectful.

Very good food and not the conventional look. I could easily missed it. Quality reflected in price. But nothing but fair. Love it!

Popped in here for a breakfast on Wednesday morning.Have drove past quite a few times but never been in.We ordered 2 breakfasts, they were very reasonably priced, well presented and very enjoyable. The coffee was good as well, tasted like coffee!!!We were very impressed for a corner cafe, very clean, friendly staff, and WE WILL BE BACK.

Whenever I am in working in Halifax and getting hungry this is where I go. The staff are pleasant and sociable, the food tastes great and it is good value. I normally have a bacon and egg sandwich and a cup of tea. It reminds me of the really good transport cafes when I was driving a wagon.

We called in today after parkrun and had the perfect well earned breakfast at a great price. My friends' toddler accidentally spilled a full cup of hot tea and the staff were lovely, replaced it no fuss and rushed to help us clear up.

We have visited the cafe several times, the atmosphere is always excellent, the staff are always friendly & eager to please and the food is always very tasty & extremely good value.

I haven't been anywhere else to beat Jay's cafe on breakfasts, it is all fresh and hot when you get it. Cheap as well, definitely going here again,friendly staff members as well.

All day breakfast . Nice and clean , friendly staff .food pretty quick and very well presented choice of toast bread and butter or teacake included. Good value.

I recommend the breakfast they make them exactly how my friend Linda likes them. She is very fussy but never complains
