The servers were super friendly and the food was extremely delicious. The chips were proper and the fish was beautifully battered and fresh. Will definitely return!

16 of us booked for a mates 40th.. nothing was to much trouble, had the back room to ourselves, absolutely perfect service, atmosphere, drinks. Food is the best I’ve had in a pub ever.. proper home made food made with love.. personally I can recommend the garlic mushrooms, the hallumi and bacon wraps and the chunky chips.. wife had the rag pie, my god, that was good.. all 16 of us will definitely be back.. 10/10. I cannot recommend this place enough, it’s worth the 2 hour drive up to visit for food. Thanks so much for your hospitality

Went to the Waggon and Horses today for lunch 😋 the staff were lovely and so helpful..the building itself is a delight of old charm and different woods ..warm and inviting full of beautiful artifacts to do with horses 🐎..this really is a wonderful cosy place to sit and eat .Food portions large the burger ..I had chicken burger 🍔 was delicious..with chunky chips not the usual skinny fries ...starter was pate with an onion relish absolutely lovey ...my freind had spicy chicken to start ..portion huge ..then scampi and wedges with mushy peas 🫛..light crispy scampi to die for with tartar sauce 😋...Michelle the owner really does pay attention to detail and is a lovely warm ,freindly front of house 🏠 this is not my first visit and won't be my last ...❤️ Look forward to going in the summer where they have outside seating and outside bar and snack area 😋

Best Sunday roast dinner I have had in a long time. Everything was so tasty and fresh. My daughter said about the halloumi fries "best halloumi fries I've ever had and I've had my fair share of halloumi fries!"

Be honest been their before but this time poor visit waited 40 mins for food then when it came me and my daughters burgers came under cooked and cold wife's curry came with no sauce mentioned it to waitress weren't much help just must have been a bad day been before and it was pretty good

Me, my husband and two little girls visited today and had the best afternoon. Me and my Husband had a Beef Sunday Roast and the girls had chicken nuggets & chips / sausage & chips. Everything was delicious including our desserts (cheesecake, chocolate brownie and ice cream). I didn't get their names, but both staff members were so welcoming, friendly and lovely. We will definitely be back.

Visited here while visiting family, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was incredible and very filling. Didn't mind the wait knowing all good fresh wasn't a long wait anyway. The atmosphere was lovely nice calm place to eat drink and talk with music just at the right leave. Will definitely be visiting again. Hopefully my 50th in Feb 2025

Excellent food- such good value for money

Just been here for a Sunday roast with my hubby 😋 it was our first visit but it certainly won't be our last Food was delicious and plentiful and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Emily was lovely and very professional, the food was exceptional can not hype up how good it is so thanks to the chef for amazing. They even gave us a free sausage for the dogs! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a nice meal in a calm environment!

Emily was a charming host, very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. It was our first visit and it won't be our last. I am looking forward to our next visit. The food was 100% delicious. The locals were friendly, and the pub is dog friendly. Our dogs enjoyed their sausages. Perfect afternoon lunch. Highly recommended.

Ate here on a Friday night. It was very quiet. Food was so good - really tasty and good portion size. Service was great.

Waiting time took far too long. We wasn't informed of how long is was taking. We had to ask the lady who seemed to be Waiting tables, taking orders and running the bar. Food arrived and wasn't the best. Veggie lasagne too cheesy by far. Not many chips in the little basket. Veggie curry was like the uncle Ben's Chinese curry jar poured over a few vegetables. We overheard the waitress telling the next table that they had run out of seasonal vegetables and would they prefer salad which they declined. The oap discount meals should be everyday not just Monday to Thursday

Had two very different meals here, 1st was a Sunday dinner roast beef Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings absolutely delicious, next was through the week burger and chips with dressing and salad, absolutely brilliant I'd definitely recommend going, and the friendly staff couldn't do enough to help I notice this with being disabled, it's all on the flat, no steps absolutely brilliant 👍

The pub itself is lovely so is the outside eating and drinking area what let it down today was the waiting time for our meal, nearly 2 hours plus we were never kept informed always had to ask. When the food did arrive it was fine. Oh and its not wheelchair friendly.

First time I visited the Wagon & Horse. We were a party of 4 people celebrating a family birthday and I have to say we was well cared 3:;for from the minute we arrived , the staff were very friendly & polite .

Nice pub based in peaceful walsden - nice for a pint or spot of food, ideal location. 10/10 for the manequins out front across road, great laugh for passerbys- shame they seem to of dissapeared recently.

Excellent food and drink and service

Absolutely love it! Beautiful inside amd got a beer garden across the road. They had live music outside plenty of seating and the food is amazing. Fantastic menu we will be back that's for sure!

Traditional Pub. With traditional Pub Fayre and good well kept beers. Always welcoming and great for a afternoon beer, not eaten hear yet but what we've seen being served looks good. We'll have to give it a try.

A lovely pub lunch, however it was a shame about the wait on food. Due to a mix up with our order, we ended up being served after a large table so had to endure an hour and a half wait on food. Was it worth the wait? Arguably yes due to good portion sizes all round and delicious cottage pie, arguably no as the hanger had well and truly set in by the time the meal arrived. Lovely Christmas decor and friendly staff, did the job of a classic pub lunch but wouldn't go back.

A friend Booked a table for 6 of us on new years day. The pub was really quiet. The waitress came to order out drinks bought glasses of coke one at a time and forgot one, we asked again twice and she never bought it. None of the waitresses knew the specials or what pizza would be on the kids menu. We waited over an hour for our food to come. While we were waiting the barman said our food was just being plated up, then we waited at least another 20 minutes to half an hour for it to come out. The waitress then bought plates one at a te with a large gap between each plate. The chips were so brown ( I assume recooked a few times) the kids wouldn't touch them. My fish was cold but there was no way I was waiting another hour to get a new one. If I wouldn't have been with friends we would have just left, the wait was ridiculous. If I could give less than a star I would, food definitely not worth the wait. Definitely wouldn't reccomend 👎👎👎👎👎

Staff were friendly BUT we were the only 2 eating, waited nearly an hr for food. It was dreadful, bad presentation, missing food items, looked like a 5 year old had cooked it and thrown it on the plate. VERY disappointing. Over priced. Won't be going back.

Lovely family friendly pub, amazing food and really lovely staff. Visited with husband and daughter (7yrs) in December, food was yummy and Xmas decorations are really nice. A great place to stop for food.

Second visit for food. Lamb shank was very tasty, wife had the Rag (local dish) also fantastic and the kids sausage and mash was also very good. Interiors clean and inviting. Staff welcoming. Only wish would be that they had real ales but plenty of other selection so not an issue. Highly recommended

Michell has managed to achieve something here that most pubs fail at. She welcomes diners and regulars without each feeling they are in the way of the other. Fabulous stone exterior, really nicely decorated interior, extremely welcoming and friendly, good food at reasonable prices. The overall experience is 10 out of 10.

Spontaneous visit here ,we were pleasantly surprised ,food was excellent ,I had roast beef and onion baguette,my husband had rag pudding ,chips peas and BIG jug of gravy,service was great our waitress Isabel was great ,a lovely smile and very attentive.Would definitely visit here again.

The Waggon & Horses at Walden is a lovely, quirky little pub. Good decor, atmosphere and service. We were a party of four (two couples) and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We will definitely eat there again and highly recommend it.

Went for a family evening meal 4 adults and one child. There is a good choice though not as much for vegetarians. The food was good and not expensive, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The 3 fish nuggets on the child's meal were large and almost enough for an adult. Not gourmet dining but good pub food.

Called yesterday for Sunday lunch. Service was good and friendly. I had roast and my wife had steak and ale pie which we both enjoyed. I totally cleared my plate and my wife left a few scaggy end chips. Veg excellent. Perfect place to call in if you are walking in the valley (as we were) or visiting Riggs across the road. Ample parking across the road. Only downside for myself was no real ale, but there appeared to be a good choice of all other drinks. Would go again.

Lovely Sunday lunch with family. Very cosy and welcoming. Catered for all dietary requirements. Very tasty vegan nut roast for me and the rest of the family enjoyed roast beef. Will definitely be back !

Don’t know what they were doing in the kitchen but not prepping food as per menu. Came out nothing like menu or other customer pictures. Basic bread not toast, no accompaniment .Took forever from the kitchen and hardly anyone else in the pub. God help them if had been busy! The were a very few customers who were also waiting a while and were asking where their food was! It was basic for the price and no customer service! Not really clean especially the toilets and nothing to dry hands on. Get some more efficient staff and prioritise customer service if want good reviews and return customers.

Just popped in for a bite,Beef sandwich, which was huge and delicious, came with the biggest chips I've ever seen. Bit too far from home to come back, which is a pity.
