We called in for some take away food. Had the homity pie (cold but delicious) and sausage roll (hot but delicious I was told) plus a really nice mixed salad (you can choose from a mix and match selection). Enjoyed them on the harbour wall on a lovely sunny day.

Magpies is a brilliant cafe. The food and coffee is amazing, especially the scones. It is so friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. We would highly recommend it.

Came by chance, tucked away on Friday Street, we visit the area 3/4 times a year and since closure of Coasters there has been nowhere in Minehead to get a decent coffee and a cake, as we have tried the rest. Pleasant hosts and the place is nicely decorated and most important the cakes are home made, look fantastic and taste even better. So much so that when waiting for prescription from chemists called here again first thing, and had exactly the same as we had yesterday, and if we were to be in Minehead tomorrow we would be back again for the same!!! That’s how good it is! OK so CASH only, but I promise it is worth the visit. Nice to see “Reserved” signs on the tables for lunch bookings with the time booked displayed together with name of parties. Lunch menu on display looked good and not expensive for what is on offer if the quality of what we had is anything to go by. We are here another week and will definitely be back. Good luck to those involved.

First and foremost the waiting staff and kitchen staff are a credit to the company. I cannot fault them at all. They were polite and helpful, the food was outstanding. If you requested anything they were happy to help. Every single guest commented on they portion sizes being generous and the food quality being amazing. We had an intimate wedding reception with a weekend stay. There were no pre warnings to other guests that a wedding was being held, no signage from the hotel. We felt quite uncomfortable with the disapproving looks some of the guests gave us. No special greeting for the bride/groom. Our bridal suite wasn't dressed for a wedding, there was no nice special touches, the bridal vanity station could do with updating or at least a bigger mirror and more comfortable chair. the manager who met with us was quite rude and very rough while handling my home made wedding cake, I heard after the fact that the cake had been damaged and had to be repaired by the groom. Communication lacked throughout the booking process, things we were offered and asked for weren't present on the day. It's an extremely lovely hotel, perfect for a standard weekend away. Bathrooms could do with updating they felt quite cheap. Floorboards are extremely loud but it does make it feel more rustic. i wouldnt recommend it to people for a wedding unless they privately hire their own wedding coordinator for their big day. The location and food really were amazing if it wasn't for that and the waiting staff my review would have been 2 stars. Management needs to shake up a bit, of the 3 managers we met 2 were rude.

A pretty building in a pretty village. And the best rated tearoom apparently. This can only lead one to come to the sad conclusion that one is in an old-fashioned tourist trap. Sandwiches at £11 plus should always be a warning. But when they come out looking like something you could get at the next town along for half the price, your heart will sink and your wallet groan. The savoury cream tea we had didn't fare any better. Instead of a quality cheddar, expect cream cheese. The chutney is likewise lacklustre, sporting a vinegary tone, The scone is just bland. Oh, and stick to the local Costa for your coffee. Unless you favour coffee- flavoured foam.

Beautiful setting; a quintessential English garden. We have visited Kitnors over the past few years whilst holidaying in Devon but our last visit was very disappointing. Ordered cheese on toast and cheese scones. Thin sliced loaf with thinly processed cheese. Scones were tiny with thinly sliced processed cheese. Small portions of chutney. All served on small tea plates. We’ve always promoted Kitnors to others but sadly not anymore. Staff were friendly but food was poor.
