Great breakfast both Full breakfast and the large big breakfast. A good find on a wet and windy Saturday. Nice breakfast well cooked to order so expect a little wait but worth waiting for and the dog was allowed to come inside as well.

Before leaving the village after our weekend air b&b stay we had breakfast at Giggling Bean as my husband had walked past the morning before and loved the smell of bacon cooking. We were not disappointed with crusty rolls and two of us had bacon and egg, the other two sausage and egg - perfect with a pot of tea to wash it down.

Had a lovely lunch. The food was freshly made and tasted great. The service was very good too. Worth a visit.

We have stopped off many, many times on the way home from Devon for a bite to eat and always been delighted with the food and hosting. When we went last weekend, whilst the menu was the same there were new people behing the counter. My Mum had a breakfast which was lovely, but my pea and ham soup was a massive disappointment. It appeared to be a blitzed tin of marrowfat peas with a slice of wafer thin ham on top. There was no seasoning and tasted awful. Such a shame, but what upset us more was the behaviour of the chef. He was barking orders at the poor girl behind the counter who was running around after him and the customers. He didn't use Please or thank you once, and came across as rude and arrogant. The work area behind the counter was filthy, with coffee running down the units. It completely put me off, and we won't be back.

Spent a week in Porlock on holiday and found this gem of a cafe on the first day for brunch. It was so good, we ended up going every day. One of us veggie and one not, everything was delicious, portions were good enough that our very eager dog got a mouthful or two as well (it’s very dog friendly) and we can all highly recommend.

The food was amazing. Fresh flavours all around. We were looking for a different place and we found it. Aubergine & potato flatbread was amazing! Try also tomato with grilled feta!!

Beautiful setting; a quintessential English garden. We have visited Kitnors over the past few years whilst holidaying in Devon but our last visit was very disappointing. Ordered cheese on toast and cheese scones. Thin sliced loaf with thinly processed cheese. Scones were tiny with thinly sliced processed cheese. Small portions of chutney. All served on small tea plates. We’ve always promoted Kitnors to others but sadly not anymore. Staff were friendly but food was poor.

I reviewed the White Horse on the 18 April 24 when it re-opened after a period of failure. It was wonderful then just to have the pub open for drinks but now Lisa and Tim have a limited menu serving meals from Thursdays to Saturdays evenings and Sunday lunches. Some friends dropped into stay the other night and treated us to a Sunday lunch at the pub, the first since re-opening, which was not just good but exceptional. The beef was first rate with five vegetables beautifully cooked. The place was booked out and all by locals enjoying great hospitality filling the room with animated conversation. We shall be going again as soon as we can! On Mondays our 1759 Guinness Club is now able to regain our home in Stogumber’s White Horse. Last night we met to enjoy Irelands greatest stout and gained a fair few members. Word is spreading!
