This koool kat has created the most funkaliscous space, to get cozy and sip the finest oat milk flat white, while treating yourself to a scrumdidilyumpsiouc breakfast and a sweet or savoury pastry to add the cherry on top!! Located inside the lyric theatre a rustic vibe, the walls filled with quarky art that will have your eyes hooked.... get hooked on bearkat xx

Located a bit of a stroll up hill away from the town centre, so probably not somewhere that’s going to get troubled so much by the tourists, but nonetheless well worth seeking out. It’s quite rustic in style with old coffee sacks hanging from the ceiling and it had a nice chilled out vibe and a friendly welcome. The cake selection was a little on the small side perhaps with only about four options, but we were there for something a little more substantial and there were plenty of enticing looking options chalked up on a board. I went for the chorizo, rosemary and potato hash with poached eggs, and this was a decent size and very tasty indeed, a thoroughly enjoyable dish. An accompanying latte was also particularly good, and coffee is obviously something they take seriously with a number of different beans to choose from. All in all, highly recommended.

What a fantastic place in beautiful Abbotsbury. We had visited the Tropical gardens near by and wanted to wander around the village. We found the Old School tea rooms which were just perfect. The welcome and service was exceptional from start to finish by a lovely husband and wife team. My wife and I had the savoury and sweet cream teas. They were both delicious in equal measure with plenty of cream and jam and cheese and pickle . The tea was strong and plentiful and I even through in a wonderfully spiced tea cake for good measure. Well with a visit when visiting the Jurassic Coast.

Went here May bank holiday weekend, Sunday afternoon with my partner's cousin. Had to book as it does get very busy. Nice cakes, place is also known for cream tea and savoury scones. Lots of tea choices. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Prices are not bad for a local busy area.

This is a lovely little restaurant, we have been many times over the years and it is consistently excellent. The crab soup needs a special mention as it is a favourite of mine. Always beautifully presented and plenty of seasonal vegetables. The specials are always worth a look. The staff are friendly and attentive. It is a little gem

Nice little local pub playing good music. No food available on the day we were there. Think it's just Friday/Saturday/Sunday

They refuse to take card payments—not because they can’t, but because they’re pushing some smug anti-cashless ideology. Instead of focusing on decent food or customer service, they’ve decided their real mission is to lecture customers about how they think society should function. News flash: people don’t carry cash anymore. Going on the radio pushing your agenda isn't helping either. Your refusing to take card payments isn’t “principled,” it’s lazy, inconvenient, and frankly suspicious. Why you are reluctant to have customers pay directly into an account via card payments reeks of a setup that benefits the owner far more than the customer. A café’s job is to serve food and make things easy for customers—not to create unnecessary obstacles or force people to support some fringe ideology. I won’t be back. If you expect a modern, honest, customer-focused establishment you wont find it here.
