The Old Bonded store in West Dorset

We all had hot baguettes-sausages and bacon freshly cooked, the baguettes were very nice. My Daughters enjoyed their smoothie and chocolate milkshake. Service was good also.

Stumbled across this place whilst walking around Lyme Regis with my mum and sister, as we were on holiday. Great little place! Lovely coffee and we all had sandwiches/baguettes which were delicious and freshly made. Recommend this place!

Please be aware VAT maybe added to your bill despite the menu stating the prices include VAT!! We did received the overcharge back on request.

In a town full of expensive eateries, what a joy to find a welcoming friendly little café that concentrates on a few good dishes but does them well. Their pasties are delicious . We didn't try their cakes but they looked very good.

I think this café is almost certainly under new ownership since our last visit a couple of years ago, friendly service, sandwiches and cakes were great, dog friendly and we'd come back again any time.

Popped in here for coffees today. It’s w charming little tearoom with lots of personality. I loved the disco ball! Great service and the coffee was really good. I would definitely pop in again.

Not sure if this cafe has a more limited menu in winter or whether it’s under new(ish) management, but no sandwiches or lunch options when we visited in a March. However, coffee and homemade cake were superb, and staff helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Very friendly service and good choice of delicious cakes. Reasonable prices, dog friendly - this cafe is a real hidden gem close to The Cobb.

Visited for the first time in September 18 and discovered this lovely friendly little cafe with good food and a lovely owner. Really enjoyed it and will definitely visit again!

Came across this lovely little tea room whilst meandering through the streets of Lyme Regis and stopped off for some lunch. Between us we had a crab sandwich, BLT sandwich and a cream tea plus - all of which we enjoyed very much. Staff very friendly, service great and prices reasonable. Would definitely recommend and will certainly go back if ever in Lyme Regis! Lots of lovely cakes to choose from too... I’ll maybe try those next time!

Great place to have a cream tea or sandwich. Situated on the back road near The Cobb. Hasa couple of tables in the alleyway entrance and some more inside. Few specials choices and a standard menu. Has choice of sandwiches, paninis and jacket potatoes. Good service.

This place is easy to miss, but I'm glad we found it. Having been in the West Country for the weekend, I couldn't leave without having a cream tea. Heapings of cream, jam and a warmed scone each with a pot of tea was the perfect break from the heat of the day.

Had a lovely snack in the bonded store tea room just stumbled across it through a little passage way very clean nice staff food excellent would definitely visit again the scones were lovely warm and fresh a hidden gem

Lovely little cafe with friendly, happy staff. We decided to walk past all the usual eateries and look for a hidden spot and were so glad we found this one. We stopped here for lunch and were served very quickly and with a smile. Everything was spotlessly clean and a lovely selection of cakes were on display. Highly recommended.

We arrived in Lyme Regis and was walking around the town thinking of finding somewhere for lunch when we stumbled across this place. So easy to miss but well worth the visit. Good selection and great tasting would definitely recommend this place.

This café is easy to miss, but well worth a visit. It is small, just a few tables but very pleasant. Popped in for a coffee, no problems at all. Very clean with a "Very Good" food hygiene rating.

Worth popping in, simple but fresh menu, friendly service and good portions. Will definitely return, dogs welcome at the passage tables.

This is THE hidden gem of Lyme Regis, tucked away just along from Calico the clothes boutique at the bottom of Cobb Road ( near The Cobb) As locals we regularly use this place for lunch. We usually have sandwiches, panini or salad & if we are feeling naughty sometimes cake too. It is all served fresh with excellent customer service & I would highly recommend trying it out , you won’t be disappointed. PS lovely homemade soup served in the winter too & the cakes are to die for

Hidden away, but a welcome hidden gem as the first few tables in the entrance are 'dog friendly'. We had crab sandwiches and tea, and couldn't complain at all!

We wanted a basic lunch and popped in here. Bacon omelette and a toasty was our choice - we saw the food being cooked, it was nicely presented and piping hot. If we lived in Lyme, we'd call often for lunch.

Walking round the beautiful streets of lyme once more we decided to go into this almost alley way as there was a nice shop window, fossils, gems, little buddahs, etc... And inside is awesome, got a few gifts and then further back is this great little sandwich shop, i got a toasty and she got a delicious bit of cake! Definitely go back again if we manage to find it again!!

What a lovely friendly cafe. We took a while to find it as I had seen on trip adviser that they did gluten free cream tea as my sister is celiac. Glad we found it the scones were to die for and made my sister very happy. Lovely food and lovely relaxing feel. Thank you very much

At first my husband and I were a little hesitant about having a cream tea in a place without views or a window! So we went searching elsewhere but ended back at The Old Bonded Store because we just had a feeling about it. We were warmly welcomed and served promptly. We had the crab sandwiches followed by a cream tea and it was just lovely! Our waitress was so nice and the food was presented beautifully and tasted great. Don't be put off by the "inside". It was clean and didn't feel small when seated. A gem of a place and a must visit place when in Lyme Regis. We loved it!

Inusual encontrar - escondido hacia el final cobb de Lyme Regis. Muy buen mini-té helado. Rápido, servicio agradable y eficiente a un precio muy razonable.

Metimos en para un aperitivo. Ambos tuvimos un panini (Brie y cebolla roja/tocino y queso brie). Ambos venían con una ensalada y patatas fritas. vestidos Absolutamente excelente. Recién preparada y caliente. Muy sabroso y bien presentado. El personal era extremadamente agradable y atento. Impecablemente limpio y excelente decoración. Volveré y lo recomiendo sin duda.

Este pequeño café es un lugar estupendo para comer un bocado. Fuimos para té y bizcocho (dorset apple) que era delicioso y casero. Otros clientes estaban pidiendo un montón de cosas diferentes y todo parecía genial. Las tortillas se veía fabulosa y crema tés parecía deliciosos. Las dos señoras que trabajan allí eran amables y funcionaba bien como un equipo y todos ayudaron hacia la experiencia. El café estaba lleno, pero el servicio no sufre ya que era muy rápido. Sin duda recomendaría este café.

Buena variedad de comida a precios razonables, teníamos empanadas, sandwiches, sopas y tortillas. Los precios estaban bien y el personal era amable. Sólo 6 mesas, y estaba lleno cuando fuimos un día de semana. Ambiente agradable y decoración. Por desgracia no había menú para niños. Habitación no hubiera sido adecuado para llevar una sillita. Costo 44 libras para una familia de 6 para el almuerzo y bebidas.

Went in for lunch, they were very busy, the poor girl doing beverages was also expected to prepare beverages , serve food, clear tables and wash up. The other lady the chef getting a bit cross with her for not going quick enough and forgetting a few things on orders. I think all they needed at this busy time was a washer upper, as just too much for one person. Saying that, we had lovely fresh tea, fantastic food and was a lovely place, just off sea front but worth a visit.

We stumbled across this cafe on a very wet and windy day in Lyme Regis - what a fantastic little place! The ladies who run it were very welcoming and friendly. We went for the cream tea and it was amazing, simply the best scones we'd ever had! The rest of the menu looked really good too - and very good value. Will definitely return!!! Thank you.

Got just what we wanted - lovely fresh pot of tea and quick friendly service. Didn't have anything to eat this time but the menu looked good and we will definitely return next time we are in Lyme

Not on the seafront and therefore maybe not noticed but...very pleasant owners serving excellent tea and coffee. The food looked good but we didn't sample it.

I have been to Lyme quite a few times and somehow managed to miss this little cafe down the back roads. I'm so glad we did find it though, as it was absolutely delicious! We both ate the warm chocolate brownie with clotted cream, and shared a hot chocolate. I honestly think it was the best brownie I've ever tasted - melted in the mouth and satisfied my sweet tooth.This place definitely needs to be raved about more! Would go back in a heartbeat.

Found this little place whilst wandering around and so glad we did. Very clean little place with lovely friendly staff. One of the best club sandwiches we've had. Good price too.

This is our second visit here, and discovered it by accident. Friendly welcome, very clean and tidy. I had a toasty of cheese and red onion with salad and crisps and my partner had a cheese omelette. Both lovely and cooked fresh while you waited. Came back later for the take away cream tea which is very good value at £4.00 and the scones were delicious.Will definitely return.

A very lovely little tea room hidden away on one of the back streets near the harbour, lively hot chocolates go down well on a wet cold day like we had, lovely snacks, kids enjoyed Large jacket potato's and he enjoyed freshly caught crab omelette.

Stopped here for lunch last week have been here a few times now when visiting Dorset and it is a great place if a little hard to initially find. It is tucked behind a pub on the seafront and through an archway with a shop at the front. I had a crab sandwich which came with a side salad and some crisps the crab was really fresh and tasty and the salad really good as well. My wife had a cream tea and the scones arrived warm and fresh and the jam and cream were both delicious and plentiful. Good price as well we will definitely return next year as we have for the precious 3.

A little tucked away and down a tunnel between two shops, but was well worth the visit. Lovely food and very welcoming. Decor basic but clean.

We called in for lunch (two toasted sandwiches and drinks) and found everything very much to our liking. The place is spotless and all food is prepared in full view of customer. We lunch late so others were ordering cream teas (one of them take-away) and they seemed very pleased. Our food was delicious and the service was spot on. Friendly and efficient. Cash only, by the way ...

Bit of an odd place as you enter it through a "tunnel" and there are no windows as it is in the bowels of a building. It's probably cool in summer and warm in winter, so they could be on to a winner! The food was freshly prepared behind the counter, good value, good quality and the staff really friendly.

Respite from a sunny September day! Lovely tea room with a good selection of sandwiches and drinks. Sandwiches were fresh and made to order. Staff were lovely. The cakes looked lovely but we couldn't fit one in!

What a lovely little place , service quick and very friendly . We had three painnis that came with salad and crisps . Very filling and reasonably priced . Two cokes and pot of tea and one milkshake all this for less then £24 . Would definitely return a little gem of a tearoom

I've been coming to Lyme for years and not really tried this before for lunch, but the guy in the tackle box had the best smelling panini, so I headed round to get one myself. really friendly staff, great food and a real selection to choose from. I went back the next day again :-)

Took 2 young grandchildren here for lunch just the other week. Lovely friendly couple, lovely food. Looked after us n the kids loved it. Even the plate for our 2 yr old fitted on the high chair tray. Best omelette I've ever tasted. (had to try hubbies food too) all home made. Well done to you. Keep up the good work.

Found this little cafe by chance it is tucked away at the back of a small emporium easy to miss. Lovely crab sandwiches and cream tea's.Great cheerful service I think they were the owners.Lots of gluten free choices.

I recently went on holiday to charmouth with my family like we do each year and popped round to Lyme in search of cream tea's. We found this little tea room and were drawn in when we saw that they offered Gluten Free cream tea! Hooray!! We went three days in a row for different foods, the dorset apple cake, sandwiches and cream teas were gorgeous and when we took my dad, who is gluten intolerant, he had the GF cream tea and GF fruit loaf and said that they tasted amazing! Think he was very glad to finally have a cream tea he could eat again! The staff are super friendly and helpful and the whole atmosphere of this tea room is lovely. Looking forward to our next visit!

Came here on a family weekend away looking for somewhere for lunch in Lyme Regis. Being gluten free I sometimes struggle to find somewhere who cater for coeliacs but this place is superb! They do plenty of lunch options and as soon as I saw gluten free cream tea I was sold! The best gluten free scones I have had with generous cream and jam. My partner had the sausage roll which he loved. It is small but cosy and the staff were incredibly friendly and polite. Will definitely come here again when I return!

Delighted to find this little place when we just wanted drinks and cake. Staff friendly and pleasant. Our order was quickly taken and soon brought to our table.Tried Dorset Apple Cake for the first time - absolutely delicious, warm with clotted cream. Good tea and coffee too and reasonably priced. Only tiny and hidden away but well worth seeking out.

Last Thursday we were in Lyme Regis and came across this cafe; what a find the food was lovely very reasonably priced and the owners very friendly. If you are in the town this summer this unassuming cafe is the place to go.

Popped in here for a quick cuppa and ended up having a cream tea. The scone was lovely and warm and more than enough jam and clotted cream. They did sell other hot food but can't comment because didn't have it. Very nice place.

If toasted teacakes are your thing then this is the place to go! The tea cakes are fruit filled and tasty and the generous portion of butter (not a butter pat, a real piece of butter) makes these teacakes wonderous to behold and eat! Not too easy to find the tea room but well worth the effort.

Went in for a late lunch on the recommendation of our hosts at the guesthouse we were staying in (the Westley, Uplyme). It's tucked away near the second hand book shop at the end of Marine Parade (a row back from the seafront). You can eat in or take away. We always have crab sandwiches when we go to the coast and these were some of the best - very fresh, sweet crab meat with a fresh salad and crisps - good value. The cafe was tastefully decorated, very clean and the people who ran it were most welcoming. One of those simple-and-good places which are sadly too rare.

Sweet and succulent crab sandwich, fresh from the sea. Friendly staff. No view, but a great retreat from the sea breeze, and if you want to sit out on beach, they do takeaway. Top marks.

Popped in here for lunch before a long walk up to the Golden Cap. We ordered crab sandwiches and coffee and were rewarded with fresh wholemeal thick cut bread, butter and a thick layer of crab accompanied by a tasty salad garnish and a pile of crisps. The coffee was excellent too! This cafe is clean, efficient and friendly. We recommended it to a friend who requires a gluten free option and she was delighted to be offered gluten free brown OR white bread! We have since had crab sandwiches in other places but this one is the best.

We hadn't read about this little gem before......but in avoiding the more obvious,tawdry and crowded cafes facing the sea,we found this one tucked away behind the Cobb. We only wanted a snack. If you want a small,cosy,friendly ,cool,efficient cafe ....this is it. Lovely service. Really,really superb soup. Better mocha than any I have had before. And the crab sarnies I heard being eaten behind me (!) seemed to be first class as well.Please don't be put off by the unimposing entrance.....but go in for a treat at reasonable cost with old fashioned courtesy and first class service.

Superb gluten free cream tea - you can even take it home or eat on the beach. The prawn salad was lovely and my husband enjoyed the burger. Good options for children. Friendly, welcoming service.

Stopped there for an afternoon snack and had a tea cake with raisins and salted butter which went just perfectly with the freshly brewed coffee. The Cream Tea was even better as it could also be had in a mini version with just one scone.

Cream tea was very tasty. Scones -- just right. The whole experience was great. Not a crowded place at all, very quiet, and not in the sun (!) which was exactly what I wanted after a walk in the boiling hot that day.

This cafe is tucked away in what feels like it could have been a smuggler's den. Lovely warm scones and good tea. Recommended .

Ate here 3 times over a week in Lyme. Beautifully prepared sandwiches, paninis and omlettes. The cakes are delicious too. The owners offer a simple menu perfectly executed at excellent prices. Really worth a visit!

Cracking little Tea Room at the bottom of Cobb Hill. Visited many times and always have brilliant friendly service from the owners. Great coffee, and the Lyme Bay crab sandwiches are the best I have had. Very reasonably priced, great food, and of course a 5 star hygiene rating !

This Cafe is very Pleasant, Very friendly owners, Great food, I can recommend the Salmon and Scrambled Egg.Very nice Coffee, all at a sensible prices, especially compared to others in the area.This was one of many visits to Lyme Regis and to the Bonded Store Cafe
