We went for Sunday lunch, and had to book as the pub is very busy. The wife and I had the full Sunday roast beef meal, with a dessert. The food was extremely good, generous portions of the meat and the vegetables and gravy, all of which were washed down with a good pint of beer for me, and large glass of Merlot for my wife. Everything on my plate was delicious and well cooked. Even the vegetables were really good, the taste of each standing out from the others - which is a lot more than you can say for many pub Sunday Lunches. We had a crème brûlée and a cherry waffle for desserts and they were spot-on. The food was good value for money. The service was warm and friendly, and occasionally a little slow, but the pub was packed so I can accept that the staff were run off their feet. The pub and restaurant area where we ate was well appointed, clean and tidy.

Well this is a little find... Loves in Taunton for 30 years and never knew this place was here! Very very nice, great price.. The menu looks gorgeous and I can't wait to test it out! Only popped in whilst passing as I walked into town, so a very nice coffee and a cheeky oreo brownie! Highly recommend

One of the reasons we like living in Taunton. Open from 8:30am. Great coffee, amazing bread and cakes. Lunch was both wholesome and super tasty. Staff are incredibly patient and friendly

The choice of wines is amazing, the staff are always so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable! The food is INCREDIBLE, the mushroom croquettes and cheeses are some of the best I've ever tasted. We even had a cocktail last night and it was delicious and all very reasonably priced for what you get! We came to a private party here last night and the staff couldn't do enough for us all and our hosts. It was a great atmosphere and the food was just wonderful! Thank you so much, and see you soon!

Visited 25th October. Cakes LOOK amazing. We had a carrot cake and a rhubarb and ginger cheesecake. Where do I start, the carrot cake was so dry, it was like trying to eat cardboard. The rhubarb and ginger cheesecake didn’t taste of rhubarb or ginger, just a sickly perfumed taste. Ordered latte and English breakfast tea. Worst latte we have ever had. Tea just as bad.

We had a bit of a wait because they were unexpectedly busy, so we removed ourselves into the garden with our zero Thatchers ciders, in the lovely October sunshine. We wer soon called back in with 'Foods ready'.My friend had a full large plate full of Venison sausages with lovely fresh .veg and potatoes mashed wit celeriac and a schooner of gravy and I had French onion soup with a cheesy croutons and sourdough bread All our culinary dreams were fulfilled and our appetites sated. In fact I helped my friend out by tasting half a sausage and she asked for a doggy bag with enough food for supper too. (She did not want to miss out on desserts). Big problem with the dessert, what to choose. In the end we both had Lemon posset with Blueberry compote and a shortbread biscuit which was sheer bliss.. A couple of happy bunnies drove home via the scenic route, blown away by the lovely food.

Breakfast was barely warm and dry. Microwaved eggs with no seasoning. No real service either, order online etc but nobody asked how our food was so we just ate it quickly! It’s a shame, it used to be great. Some serious thinking to do as it’s pretty expensive and not any better than a local greasy spoon. A nice coffee the only plus point. Also they have the cheek to try to flog a dish of brown sauce for £2!!

The cafe is a great little hidden gem. Fantastic coffee, delicious cakes, a very nice owner and a beautiful selection of succulent plants and cacti, all very reasonably priced. Some of the plants are locally grown. I highly recommend trying out the independent cafe!

Decided while shopping in Taunton to have some dinner , so stumbled across this cafe Coffee and cream (Wish i had not) . After looking at the menu my wife decided on gamon , onion rings and peas and chips and i went for sausage beans and chips. The lady on the till for what ever reason had to get another member of staff to help her as she could not find on the till what my wife wanted , but the other lady said she had sorted it. After about 20 mins our food arrived , my heart sunk , my order was correct , but my wife ended up with cold ham eggs and chips instead of what i asked for. I said to her i would take it back , but she said not to worry as she would eat that, given our return bus back to Yeovil was only 30 mins away. To top it off both of our plates were stone cold and within a few mins my beans were cold shortly followed by my chips and sausages . I will not be returning ever again . £17.00 wasted on 2 terrible dinners .

Disappointing experience. Went for lunch with my son and his partner. They are both vegan with wheat intolerance so they ordered the gluten free vegan brunch only to be told that the toast that came with it was not vegan. I queried why it was included as part of a gluten free vegan brunch if it wasn't but was just met with a shrug. My son said he couldn't therefore have the toast so could he have extra of one of the other items in the brunch only to be told no that wasn't possible. We ended up having to pay extra for a side order to supplement the brunch. I would have expected either a reduction on the price or the side order to be free but paid full price for the brunch with a main item missing... Won't be returning.
