What a super place and huge thanks for accommodating us as a party of 19. Having visited in Nov and stayed in one of the very comfy rooms for the night we decided to return with a large group for lunch over a weekend away locally . We arranged to do pre ordered toasted sandwiches which were fantastic . All arrived at once , exactly on time and an area had been set aside for us all . The staff are fab and the toasties we're Michelin Star worthy ! Delicious . What a welcoming and well run place . Highly recommend, personal service at it's best . Special mention to the young lad serving the sandwiches - always had a smile on his face despite being rushed off his feet. A welcoming , warm pub on what was a cold and damp day . Thanks for having us all .

Well this is a little find... Loves in Taunton for 30 years and never knew this place was here! Very very nice, great price.. The menu looks gorgeous and I can't wait to test it out! Only popped in whilst passing as I walked into town, so a very nice coffee and a cheeky oreo brownie! Highly recommend

One of the reasons we like living in Taunton. Open from 8:30am. Great coffee, amazing bread and cakes. Lunch was both wholesome and super tasty. Staff are incredibly patient and friendly

We went for tapas but were seduced by the main menu and weren’t disappointed. The game terrine with apricot chutney was perfectly balanced. The beef bourginon marinated in red wine for three days was perfect. My husband thought the haddock fish cakes were excellent and he loved the Mediterranean cod with samphire (advertised as wilted greens!) was to die for. We both enjoyed our desserts and our decaf coffees with a great selection of whiskeys and liqueurs. We have loved this restaurant since it opened and it goes from strength to strength. We are now looking forward to the new tapas menu which will include some Japanese influences.

Lovely veggie breakfast until I found a very long hair. Could not finish my breakfast, almost vomited. Owner joked “We might as well shut down” I suggested they could take precautions in food prep’…hair net?

On my walk home I discovered The Coffee Station. It's a relaxed, comfortable pastiche of an old railway station. Staff were friendly and cakes amazing. A great find on my way home.

We had a bit of a wait because they were unexpectedly busy, so we removed ourselves into the garden with our zero Thatchers ciders, in the lovely October sunshine.We wer soon called back in with 'Foods ready'.My friend had a full large plate full of Venison sausages with lovely fresh .veg and potatoes mashed wit celeriac and a schooner of gravy and I had French onion soup with a cheesy croutons and sourdough bread All our culinary dreams were fulfilled and our appetites sated.In fact I helped my friend out by tasting half a sausage and she asked for a doggy bag with enough food for supper too. (She did not want to miss out on desserts). Big problem with the dessert, what to choose.In the end we both had Lemon posset with Blueberry compote and a shortbread biscuit which was sheer bliss.. A couple of happy bunnies drove home via the scenic route, blown away by the lovely food.

Breakfast was barely warm and dry. Microwaved eggs with no seasoning. No real service either, order online etc but nobody asked how our food was so we just ate it quickly! It’s a shame, it used to be great. Some serious thinking to do as it’s pretty expensive and not any better than a local greasy spoon. A nice coffee the only plus point. Also they have the cheek to try to flog a dish of brown sauce for £2!!

Really enjoyed today's visit. It was my first time in Taunton and customers and staff were very welcoming. I liked the fact that the English Breakfast is available in 3 different sizes so £8.90 for a breakfast and a large coffee was very, very reasonable. As I had some spare time I enjoyed another Americano. There was no music playing when I visited which is a bliss. Can't wait to return next time I'm in Taunton.

Absolutely superb, I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of the expresso breakfast. £10 well spent, bargain. Highly recommend it 👍

The cafe is a great little hidden gem. Fantastic coffee, delicious cakes, a very nice owner and a beautiful selection of succulent plants and cacti, all very reasonably priced. Some of the plants are locally grown. I highly recommend trying out the independent cafe!

Decided while shopping in Taunton to have some dinner , so stumbled across this cafe Coffee and cream (Wish i had not) . After looking at the menu my wife decided on gamon , onion rings and peas and chips and i went for sausage beans and chips. The lady on the till for what ever reason had to get another member of staff to help her as she could not find on the till what my wife wanted , but the other lady said she had sorted it. After about 20 mins our food arrived , my heart sunk , my order was correct , but my wife ended up with cold ham eggs and chips instead of what i asked for. I said to her i would take it back , but she said not to worry as she would eat that, given our return bus back to Yeovil was only 30 mins away. To top it off both of our plates were stone cold and within a few mins my beans were cold shortly followed by my chips and sausages . I will not be returning ever again . £17.00 wasted on 2 terrible dinners .

I am a huge fan of the Mr Miles Spectacular hot chocolate. It comes with all the trimmings and more :) Cakes are yummy too. And whilst the hot chocolate is immense, it is really the team who work there that deserve special mention. Every employee is so friendly, and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Such a lovely bunch of people. There’s also a fantastic shop for teas, coffees, preserves, mugs, teapots etc. An absolute favourite of mine in Taunton.

Perfectly nice laid back experience. Food was good although not extraordinary. Service was intermittent though everyone was very lovely. The styling was overwhelming, calm down on the chandeliers and haughty portraits…
