Queens Arms Public House in Taunton Deane

We had a bit of a wait because they were unexpectedly busy, so we removed ourselves into the garden with our zero Thatchers ciders, in the lovely October sunshine.We wer soon called back in with 'Foods ready'.My friend had a full large plate full of Venison sausages with lovely fresh .veg and potatoes mashed wit celeriac and a schooner of gravy and I had French onion soup with a cheesy croutons and sourdough bread All our culinary dreams were fulfilled and our appetites sated.In fact I helped my friend out by tasting half a sausage and she asked for a doggy bag with enough food for supper too. (She did not want to miss out on desserts). Big problem with the dessert, what to choose.In the end we both had Lemon posset with Blueberry compote and a shortbread biscuit which was sheer bliss.. A couple of happy bunnies drove home via the scenic route, blown away by the lovely food.

Not a fault to find. Without fail; every visit to this lovely pub gets better and better! Fabulous, fresh and tasty food which is clearly prepared with love, along with a really warm and friendly atmosphere. Locals are always friendly and welcoming and the Sunday quiz night is lots of fun!

Third visit for a roast. Great first two but this time not so good. Food was cold and roast potatoes were hard. Very difficult to cut into. Roasted veg were soggy and cauliflower cheese had gone hard on the top. Very disappointed.

Went for the Cricket Club dinner 20+ people, we sat in the new restaurant which has great ambiance highly recommended. The food was excellent and was brought out all at the same time so no one was waiting. Great choice of beers and wines, went again the following day for Sunday lunch.

I popped in to the Queens Arms on my own as I was staying in the local area for work. I was anticipating a typical menu but on arrival they informed me it was Greek banquet night. I am so pleased it was- the food was outstanding, the best Greek food I’ve had. The service was also absolutely exceptional and everyone I came across was very friendly. It’s always slightly intimidating going to eat in a pub on your own when you don’t know what to expect but this was the best experience I’ve had doing so. Thanks so much!

We had sole use of the skittle alley for the day free of charge for my husband's 70th birthday. Simon & Lucy (owners of The Queens Arms) did the most amazing, delicious buffet & ensured everything ran smoothly. They kept in touch throughout the planning & couldn't have been more helpful. A huge thank you to you both. If you want a venue for a social occasion & a fabulous buffet too, I would highly recommend The Queens Arms.

My Husband and I visited this pub yesterday for lunch. On entering the pub we were immediately welcomed with a warm smile by a young lady behind the bar. We hadn’t booked but that was not a problem. I had the Italian focaccia and my husband had the Greek. The food was amazing, piping hot and delicious. The food, service and atmosphere was superb.

Went for a Sunday lunch...was absolutely one of the best we've had...fresh produce,great portions and absolutely delicious 😋

Following a shopping trip in Taunton we looked for somewhere to eat & came across The Queens Arms. What a great find! A very cosy pub with a friendly greeting on arrival. Once shown to our table we chose a Sunday roast each. One of us choosing Roast Beef, the other Roast Lamb. Both meats were delicious, very tender to eat & flavoursome. The whole meal was plentiful and perfect! All freshly cooked vegetables. So, so tasty. Extra gravy alongside the meal which was a bonus. We would most definitely recommend or re visit when we're in Taunton again.

We’re a small group of 5, arrived without booking (staying in a lovely little campsite just a short walk away). We wanted to eat and although the pub was busy we were immediately started without fuss. The service was exceptional, a young well organised team ran everything smoothly. We are informed of a slight delay with the food due to the late rush, but it was nothing. The food was exceptional, fresh price, beautifully presented and a good range of dishes to choose from for three of us veggies. Excellent, we’ll come again. It’s great to see a country pub thriving.

Often call in for a drink, but we decided to have a day off today and booked for a Sunday roast... lovely food, beef lovely and tender. Plenty on the plate feel full hours later. Friendly staff and always on hand if any issues or questions. Definitely recommend lovely food

Came in on a Sunday night with Eddie Hearn. He said he wanted an 11” hot dog. That’s exactly what he got. It was succulent and spectacular

Two very good meals, well cooked and very tasty, all presented with excellent and friendly service within very pleasant surroundings.

Came for a Sunday lunch and it was great! Lots of food, great drinks and wonderful beer garden. There’s also a pool table for after your meal.

Lovely Sunday lunch, loads of food which was a really good quality. The beef was slow cooked and delicious. Plenty of veg side dishes and extra gravy. Waiting staff where dream and couldn't do enough for us. Definitely worth a return visit . Thank you

We spent a lovely weekend in Pitminster with friends and thoroughly enjoyed our evening in the Queens Arms. Niki, the landlady was very friendly and welcomed our dogs; the red wine and beer were good and the atmosphere warm, cosy and inviting. Would really recommend.

Four of us went for an evening meal, they provided a varied menu which proved to be excellent food. Well cooked and presented with friendly staff and landlady. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and local brew. Well worth a visit.

As always Jenny puts on an excellent menu with a good selection of fine wines, perfect for any occasion. Lovely welcoming friendly staff, always a pleasure to drop in there as we do quite often. This is one of those places you don't want too many to hear about, select dining for those who have taken the trouble to seek it out.In our top 3 locations to eat in and around the Blackdown hills.

My aunt has a great track record of finding good pubs in the middle of nowhere for us to meet at, and this is is the best so far. A friendly welcome as we walked into what felt like someone’s lounge. The menu had a great variety of choice. For starters, I had an interesting dish of sliced tomatoes, shallots and Stilton with a balsamic glaze. My mum and aunt really enjoyed the prawn skewers and my uncle had so much asparagus on his plate he shared it with us! My father had the tempura battered mushrooms and they were huge! The steak was delicious and came on a leek and potato rosti, which was beautifully caramelised. My father was delighted with the lamb dish and we all really enjoyed our mains. The dessert menu was fantastic and the cranachan was superb. My mum loved the cherry jubilee and the marmalade bread and butter pudding went down well with the others. The best thing (other than the food) was the simplicity of the pricing structure, with all starters and desserts priced at £5 and all mains at £10 (£2.50 extra for a larger steak). Will definitely be coming here again!!!
