Cheese and Wine Shop in Taunton Deane

I love this shop, beautiful selection of delicious cheeses & chocolates. The staff are very welcoming & nothing is too much trouble.

Visited on Saturday, excellent people there who knew their stuff. VISIT and keep these places going!!!!!

Not a review but I lived above this shop which was originally 'The County Stores' in my day.. Lived above it from 1972 to 1975 (ish) It was while I was seven years old up to about nine or ten, moved to Sylvan Road where the old Oak Tree was after that ( yes the one that Barratt Housing killed to build houses on..) Would love to go back to have a look, so many memories...🤗😇.. If anyone out there can help then please contact me... 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Great quality deli, great artisan bread, pasties, superb selection of cheese, pate, chocolates, preserves, chutneys. Wine, local sales ciders and spirits Etc, etc!

We always stop off here when visiting the area to buy local produce which we can't buy back home. Great selection of cheese, chutney, wine and spirits. Prices are cheaper than the tourist spots too.

Lovely delicatessen in the heart of Wellington offering good old fashioned service and a fantastic array of cheeses, wines and spirits. Their bread and pastries are particular highlights. The cafe is a great meeting place for coffee and cake with friends. Highly recommended.

Called in again for lunch. Scrambled egg and bacon on toast, and a superb flat white. My wife had carrot and celeriac soup which she said was excellent. Great service.

Deli is superb, great range and staff very knowledgeable about the cheeses. We bought all our cheese for Christmas from there. Do go there. And while you are there visit the restaurant, food is excellent.

Small shop offering a range of local and other cheese. Helped us select an offering of West Country cheeses for a dinner party. Also sells wine and chocolates. I understand it is a cafe as well, but we did not use the cafe. Someone named Sally assisted us and could not have been more helpful.

Popped into the reliable deli and restaurant. Lived up to expectations. This has to be Wellington’s gem.

Lovely place food delicious all staff very friendly

The Secret Cafe at The Cheese & Wine Shop is just that; an amazing find with the best food and coffee in Wellington. Also ask for the great (but small) wine list to have a glass with lunch. The selection is lovely. The food is made fresh to order and every breakfast and lunch we have had has been delicious. Would highly recommend it.

The cafe at the Cheese and wine shop is tucked away at the back of the Aladdin's Cave but serves great lunches and tea/coffee time treats - limited menu but very tasty!

My sister was here from Scotland so we met here for breakfast. It could not be faulted and was beautifully presented. Good value for money and attentive staff.

This shop is a little gem of a place with a cafe in the back which offers a bountiful array of different breakfasts, both veggie and non-veggie. Food is of the highest quality and every mouthful is an absolute delight.

I was amazed and delighted to discover the range of treats on offer in this centre of Epicurean treasures - from wine to hand-made chocolate, delicacies from near and far as well as a coffee shop to take a rest and have a bite to eat.

I loved this little shop in Wellington town centre. I had phoned earlier and they confirmed that they sold honey mead. Woohoo! On entering the shop, I was distracted by all the other wonderful foods on display; the wines, ales, cheeses, preserves, and honeys. There's even a little cafe at the back of the shop. Customer service was excellent and I will go back there when I'm next in Somerset. (I also noticed a little independent health food shop across the road which I think is also worth a visit at the same time.)

Fabulous little gem of a place.

You could leave this place with a serious hole in your wallet. The delicatessen part of this establishment is chock full of epicurean delights. However, it was for the cafe at the back that we came here and specifically breakfast. It’s an unassuming room of 25 or so covers with a chill counter of pastries and cakes. We ordered one vegan breakfast and two eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. All cooked to order with no delays and both offerings were delicious and also good to look at. Each poached egg was cooked perfectly and the vegan breakfast contained homemade baked beans. All very moorish. A final delight and temptation whilst paying at the counter were the sight of Portuguese custard tarts. I bought two for elevenses and had I not driven home, 50 miles from wellington I’d have gone back for more!

A relaxing place to have coffee and cake or a light lunch. I have visited the cafe on several occasions and always enjoyed the warm friendly atmosphere.

Lovely food - have had lunch here several times and really rate it. Both for friends and business meetings. Good service, excellent food and just delicious. I particularly recommend the Deli Plate for lunch.

Thought we'd have a sneaky little break from the shops and stop for a coffee and something sweet. Oh my word this place is amazing. the coffees were divine and well what can I say about the cakes other than to go and try for yourselves. You'll be amazed....

This is really a nice place for lunch or coffee (Not Mondays though) they deserve to do well as the food is home made and very well served

We stumbled across this lovely tea room whilst visiting Wellington on holiday. It is hidden away at the back of the shop. We ordered waffles for my son which were not on the lunch menu but they very kindly reheated the waffle maker to accommodate us. I had the meat platter, my husband had BLT. The food was good quality with generous portions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Balsamic onions were so good we bought a jar to take home! This coffee shop isn’t that well advertised, we stumbled upon it as we wanted to look in the shop. It is well worth a visit if in Wellington

Visited this fairly new cafe which is at the back of the Cheese and Wine shop in Wellington and the casual passerby could easily miss as it is not visible looking through the window of the shop. I had a small lunch in a very clean, bright and airy atmosphere, the service was very attentive and the food, as you might expect in a cafe attached to a delicatessen, was very fresh looking and tasty.

What a fabulous place. The shop is more of an emporium with a huge stock of quality produce. The cafe section serves delicious food and the staff could not be more helpful. The make you feel very welcome and the whole experience is an absolute pleasure. We have been twice and look forward to our next visit.

Visited on a very snowy Saturday. Went in for lunch in the new cafe,was very impressed. The menu was understandably limited due to the weather. We both had pizzas, they were delicious. The staff are all so nice and very attentive. Can’t wait to return again. Also another bonus it’s an excuse to visit the shop as well!

This has a wide range of food and drink. Cheeses, icecreams and preserves to name a few. They hiave in the last month of so opened a small restaurant at the back of the Deli, which we are eager to try.

Cheese and Wine is our local deli / wine store as you can guess, and has just opened a restaurant for lunches, coffee etc. It's light, inviting and spotless (S'pose it would be - brand new)

The Cheese and Wine Shop of Wellington helped supply our wedding. The section of produce, the quality and the service was outstanding. A true specialty shop, worth going back to time and time again!

I had been looking for a specific tea bread for a Christmas gift for my mother in law. It was very hard to locate. This wonderful place (especially a gentleman called Paul who was amazing) went to the utmost lengths to make sure I got the item I wanted and that it arrived well before Christmas time. They kept me informed via phone and email every step of the way. I really can't sing their praises enough. I would certainly recommend these people to friends and family. A big thumbs up!

We received a cheese hamper from the cheese and wine shop as a gift (as a pair of foodies this was a perfect treat). We were blown away by the quality and variety of cheeses, many of which you cannot find in the supermarket and some which we had not come across before. The hamper arrived fully iced and very well packed for travel to London. The quality of produce was exceptional and we would not hesitate to recommend the cheese and wine shop to anyone looking for that ideal treat for food lovers.

Wellington Cheese and Wine Shop gave us superb service for the cheese for our wedding. They were very helpful in store, offering advice and samples! Were great at keeping us up to date with changes to our order, even making sure part of the order wasn't a surprise when something had been ordered by my fiance rather than me and were very flexible in who collected the order. The cheese its self was excellent and highly commented on by our guests. Will use again and highly recommend!

A bit shocked to see the poor review here; hence writing this. Sometimes they're very busy and you have to wait a bit but staff are always helpful and the produce is excellent.
